Imma go ahead and say i don't have any in depth knowledge of ages or any of that, this story got off track from the original plan mainly cause it never had much of plan.

Lightning bugs floated lazily through the dusky air in the thick green forest, A red blur tore through the underbrush, it clipped the side of a oak tree and Ruby slammed into the ground. She groaned her hand pressed against the gunshot in her ribs, blood ran between her fingers pouring onto the ground, She tried to stand but her legs gave out from under her dropping her back onto the ground her other hand clawed the grass in frustration, she barely felt the pain but her body was growing heavy, she was pissed that she didn't see the soldier that had shot her till it was to late.

But she couldn't stop, she looked forwards in the direction that she knew the airship was waiting on her, some one was crouched in front of her, Samuel grinned down at her.

"Just give in." He said softly. She tried to retort but a coughing fit shook her body and she spit blood.

"We're all here waiting for you." He added, Ruby could see them walking around her passing by the trees, some looked at her in longing silence. She recognized everyone of them.

"I know you're tired."

Her mind was slowing down and her vision started to fade, Samuel started to blur out of focus. She closed her eyes taking a slow breath. She smelled fire and it made a spark in her mind.

She opened her eyes and saw gold hair in the corner of her vision and felt strong hands lifting her. 'Get up, Your not done yet, don't let this all be for nothing."

The voice made sense but she didn't want to move.

"Isn't there someone you want to protect?"

Blake appeared in her mind and Samuel and the rest vanished. With a groan she pushed herself up, out of the pool of blood that had formed beneath her mixing with dirt and leaves.

The first step was the hardest, but she staggered forwards splattering the forest with her blood.

"Two point four miles to my ride.' She thought, "No problem."

Situated in a empty field dotted with abandoned farm equipment covered in orange/red rust with dying vines and grass twisting around the metal was a small airship, there were no distinguishing marks anywhere on it. A White Fang member stood just outside of the open bay door, he was alert and scanning the field. Open places abandoned or not made him feel on edge.

The ship's pilot sat on the cargo bay floor, one leg dangling out side as he leaned back against the door seal sucking on the nub of his cigarette then flicked it into the grass.

The member outside gave the pilot an annoyed look and stepped on the glowing embers on the ground the last thing they needed was to set the field on fire.

The pilot ignored the look and spoke. "That Reaper girl." smoke poured from his mouth, "She should have been back by now."

The man on watch nodded, "I don't like it, this was an in and out mission fifteen minutes tops." He grumbled. "Maybe all that gunfire we heard earlier done her in."

"I doubt it, she's to good."

"Then why is she late?"

The pilot shrugged.

"I don't care how good she is, I don't like her." The man on watch said shifting his weight from foot to foot.

"You talking about her scent?" The pilot guessed.

His partner nodded. "Yeah, It's off."

"I have noticed that, but it's not our business." The pilot looked at his watch, "We leave in ten, with or without her."

"Good, I hate fields."

Ten minutes came and went in relative silence. "That's that." the Pilot said flicking another cigarette away and stretched "No longer our problem."

"True, She's probably dead." the Fanus on watch said. The direction of the wind changed and he paused. "You smell that?" He asked, the pilot stuck his head out the door and sniffed the air, "That's blood." He looked in the direction that the smell was coming from and saw a spot of red at the tree line. "Get in, let's go get her." he said jumping into the pilot chair and turning on the engine, "get the emergency kit ready just in case." He said lifting the airship of the ground and banked right hard, flying low the air from the engines buffeted the high grass laying it flat and sending dirt into the air.

He dropped from the door as the pilot passed over head, he landed beside The reaper, she lay motionless while her cape billowed in the wind as the ship sat down a short distance away.

It didn't take him long to find the bullet hole. If they didn't act fast she was going to die.
