Once the belt clicked into place, everything went bright. The light was quick to cover the woman's body, but unlike last time the light lingered like a white silhouette.

"Uh, Peri…?"

"Just give it a moment! It's deciding!"

Deciding what, Debbie chose not to ask. Instead waiting for the light to fade. A few more seconds passed, and all at once the light faded away, leaving Debbie standing with an entirely new appearance.

It was a jumpsuit, close in style to Peridot's but with defined boots and a higher neckline. Her jumpsuit also sported blue colors instead of the green, and a blue diamond on the knees rather than a yellow diamond on the chest. The last discernable difference were the bracers covered in wrists. They were black in color and very solid, probably defensive.

Peridot leapt from her perch and slowly circled the nervous woman, tablet in hand and still recording.

"Subject HFD clearly indicated the appearance of a gem from the courts of Blue Diamond. By the looks of the uniform I would classify her purpose to be of low level architecture. However, her combat gem has clearly bled into this industrial form as Subject HFD also sports Obsidian bracers used to deflect blasts known to be capable of Era One weaponry." Peridot logged from behind the screen. "Subject HFD -thankfully- seems to be fine despite the loss of accessory body parts-."

"Whoa, whoa! Hold on!" Debbie yelped and frantically checked herself, "Loss of body parts?! What body parts?!"

Peridot pointed at her head, "Your hair. There's less of it."

Debbie's hands flew to her head and -true to word- her hair was drastically shorter. Instead of her frizzy long hair secured by a ponytail, her hair sat just past her shoulders and hung there perfectly symmetrical on both sides.

"Peridot, my hair had better come back after this!"

"It will! It will! Probably!" Peridot huffed.

Debbie let out a small stressed sigh and ran her fingers over her face. She certainly felt somewhat the same. The jumpsuit wasn't exactly her style and yet the clothes were comfortable. By now she had expected the fabric to have wedged itself into uncomfortable places but it hadn't!

"We will now move to the skill tests to see how extensively the gems have affected Subject HFD."

"Uh, skill tests?"

"Precisely. You should be more durable to some extent, and perhaps even stronger."

"Hnn, fine. Just keep the tests mild, okay?"

"But there's no fun without the challenge!"

"There's also no fun if I die!"

"...Fair point." Peridot nodded and inverted her video log. "This marks the first successful test of the gem belt. My next log will highlight the new skills of Subject HFD. Peridot, out."

Debbie watched as the little gem closed out her video, "What do you even do with those video logs?"

"I upload them to TubeTube with the rest of my logs." Peridot smiled, obviously pleased at the chance to show off her work.

Debbie knelt next to Peridot, peering down at her recent uploads.

PUMPKIN LOG 11 - HELPING WITH CORN (2:36)

LIFE LOG 106 - LAPIS THROWS ME IN THE POOL! AGAIN! (7:12)

CAMP PINING HEARTS SEASON FIVE RANT (2:52:01)

MEEP MORP 7 (5:22)

She couldn't help but smile at some of the ridiculous thumbnails and wisely decided to research Camp Pining Hearts on her own time, feeling as though asking her little green friend would end in a headache.

"I'll have to check them out later."

"You should! Subscribe to my channel! Follow me on Cheeper!"

"Cheeper…?"

"Yeah! At PERIDOT5XG!"

"I'll, uh, try to remember that."

"Well, I ought to get going." Peridot yawned, "Lapis and I are going to do some night farming."

"Sounds like a blast." Debbie chuckled, able to relate to some degree.

"I don't know what kind of "farming" you do, but it shouldn't involve any blasting." Peridot drawled, scrunching up her face with a sort of concerned confusion.

"It's...heh, nevermind. I'll explain it some other time. See you tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow. Yes, see you then."

To be completely honest, between research and a rough start, the main reason for the delay is the fact that I COULD NOT COME UP WITH A PROPER DESIGN FOR THE GEM OUTFIT. The one in the story is still a work in progress but that's what I got so far.

Hopefully you all enjoyed this admittedly slow and low key chapter. It's not my best work but it's a necessary something. Thank you!

A special thanks to GM Keys and nyanyanya22

GM Keys: So nice to hear from you again! I hope you're happy with the current results of the fusion. I will say that I'm pretty excited for the next chapter if this didn't satiate your craving for fusion related shenanigans.

nyanyanya22: While it's an interesting bit of information it may not be completely correct. I think that may be more related to dialect than anything as the official webster audio cites both as correct. Nonetheless I learned something new so thank you!
