He had lived for over a thousand years and never once had he met a female whom could draw out his beast so easily.

Until now.

The clicking of her heels all but drew his attention to her. Her onyx black hair swayed as she held her head high and waltzed her way to the office he had designated for her. Coincidently, clear windows allowed his gaze the privilege of continuing to examine her. The young woman's eyes scanned the files in front of her, allowing the Daiyoukai to gaze without fear of repercussions.

What was it about this woman that made him nearly lose control?

Perhaps it was her shyness at certain moments, and her fierceness at others? Or was it the fact that every single time she argued back at him, he wanted nothing more than to give chase to the petite female? Chase her to a place much more private. A room where he could show her how she could utilize that fiery attitude of hers. Perhaps even get her to submit to him? Was such a thing possible? He was not sure but what he did know was that he would most certainly enjoying finding out.

How desperately he wanted to be her worst nightmare.

But in a good way.

Yet, she continued to resist him, and not even glance at him with a hint of desire. Reluctantly, he admitted that little fact was what made her so proficient at her job. She was somehow immune to his appearance, and because of that was more than capable of ensuring her job duties were accomplished on a daily basis. For a brief moment, he contemplated if it would be worth losing such a hard worker if he would be allowed to spend a night with her.

Oh the things he would do to her.

The noises that would fill the room.

The positions.

Growling at the sudden tightening of his pants in the groin area, the Daiyoukai let out a shaky breath. What was she doing to him? Almost instantly, as if sensing his thoughts, the woman gazed up from her coffee mug and gave him a worried look from across the room. Noticing her worry, and her attempt to stand up and make her way to his office, Sesshoumaru mentally cursed the naivety of the woman.

"Higurashi, printer. Now."

The blue-eyed beauty stopped in her tracks and gave a yelp of surprise at his tone. Almost too quickly, she shook off the surprise and worry that was laced in scent. Nodded in understanding to the demand that he had all but growled, she altered her direction and headed to the elevator. Briefly, turning on his computer, he printed out random documents. At least this would keep her away from him for a few minutes.

If nothing else, he had spared the poor girl another day of innocence.

Innocent that he could smell all too well.

Kagome Higurashi angrily huffed at the Daiyoukai in front of her. Throwing the printed documents on his desk, she stormed back to her office. It was days like these that she constantly reminded herself that her paycheck ensured her survival—or at least her comfortability. To be fair, she was paid surprisingly well. Especially given the fact that her role consisted of a mix between a secretary and a babysitter. Still, it was easy to see why the women before her were all fired.

"Cease your tantrum, Higurashi." His comment did nothing but fuel her anger more. Noticing the smirk on his face, and the amusement dancing in his eyes, she rewarded his with a scowl. The nerve of this man. Still, the fact that his office was right across from hers, and the glass was see through all but ensured minimal privacy. However, it also allowed with easy communication from across rooms. Something she planned to utilize fully.

"Sesshoumaru-sama" she bit out angrily. Pointing to the stack of paperwork on her desk, she raised a brow at her boss. "What is this?" She knew what it was, but once more, they would play this game. After all, this was tradition.

Sure enough, the Daiyoukai followed suit.

"New hire paperwork. Get it finished, Higurashi."

Kagome's eyes widened in shock. New hire? Surely, he didn't mean she was canned? With a wave of panic, she began thumbing through the papers in need of confirmation. No, no, no—she couldn't lose this job. All of her bills were formulated against the generous paycheck that she received weekly. If she was canned—

"You are going nowhere. The paperwork is for another department."

The cool voice held amusement, and the frustrated secretary did everything in her power not to snap. Running her fingers through her hair, she let out an annoyed breath of air. How she wanted nothing more than to chuck her stapler at his royal highness. Resisting such temptations, she watched him enter his conference room with a smirk.

A/N: The chase has begun! ;) Everyone be patient with me, i'm new with writing stories that are rated higher than teen. Also, this story was originally rated T and written for that rated. Now that i'm revising it, I realized it needs to have a higher rating.
