How many words were there for mortified?
Did any of them even begin to describe how she felt?
Probably not.
With that, Kagome Higurashi continued to hide in the guest bedroom while contemplating on what to do. At the current moment, she wanted nothing more than to hide under a rock for what had occurred—and what he had seen.
What exactly were her options at this point?
Could she sneak away?
But with sneaking away came the realization that at some point she would have to see him at work. Unless she quit. Which really wasn't an option.
So, again—back to different options.
"Is this how our Friday shall be utilized? Hiding in the guest bedroom, Higurashi?"
The voice behind the door all but made her jump. How long had he been standing there? Had he been waiting? Thoughts filled her head on how to respond to such a question.
"Perhaps a shower? Something to help you cool off from such a chaotic morning?" His voice was smooth and knowing, which didn't help the situation at all. He was gloating, and if there was one thing she could not stand—it was a gloating Sesshoumaru.
"Don't gloat, it's unbecoming for a Daiyoukai."
The mumble under the breath had meant to be only for herself, but like always, it was not something that Sesshoumaru missed.
"I am not gloating. I am merely suggesting—"
"That I take a cold shower so that I'm what—not horny anymore?"
She hadn't meant to be vulgar but if he was going to tease her about it, she may as well throw everything out in the open.
"It wasn't about you, you know. It was about—"
It had been a lie, but a lie that could not finish because the door was opened before she could finish it. There he stood, topless and only in his pajama bottoms but something was different. The serious face that he held and his power was radiating off in waves. Then she saw it.
The tint of red in his eyes.
Oh shit.
"Are you aware it's usually not in one's best nature to anger a Daiyoukai?" His voice held a hint of anger as he all but stalked towards her.
Eyes widened, Kagome Higurashi quickly realized her mistake. Backing up from the Daiyoukai, she rapidly tried to decide on how to fix the disaster she had created. Bumping in the guest bedroom, panic entered her eyes as she realized there was no more room to back up. As he inched closer, she closed her eyes in concentration.
How did she fix this?
"Do you think I did not hear?"
His voice purred in her ear and almost instantly, her body heated up.
The fire.
The spark.
All of it was but worse than ever before.
"Did not hear you call for me? Smell your body craving me?"
And there it was.
He knew.
And suddenly she felt it. His hands resting on her hips and pushing her body on the bed.
Oh dear god.
"Do you think, I do not smell your desire at this moment?"
His hands moved from her hips and trailed to her thigh.
She had tried, really. But the moment his hand began to travel she let out a moan of satisfaction. Breathing fast, she tried to slow down her racing heart but if nothing else, she just managed to make the situation worst. Her head was spinning with desire, and she wanted nothing more than for his hands to go elsewhere.
"Don't stop."
Fuck.
She had said it.
In a whimper no less.
And then the chuckle came.
"With pleasure."
Opening her eyes, they widened in the realization that he was now on top of her, with a look she had never seen before.
Lust.
Passion.
Desire.
And then his lips came crashing down. God, it was better than her dreams. Her body had been screaming for his body since the dreams started—and now he was here. Kissing her, touching her, teasing her.
And then, just like that, it was gone.
"Let this be a lesson to never lie to be again."
The whisper in her ear had briefly been heard before he vanished. But heard nonetheless.
Did he really just…?
Sitting up abruptly, she glanced around the room.
Yup.
He had.
Letting out a huff of frustration, Kagome Higurashi wanted nothing more than begin planning the man's murder. How dare he! And the words he had spoken had told her all that she needed to know.
He was never going to let her live this down.
