A/N: Trying to write a chapter for each story before my muse abandons me! T_T

"Perhaps you could indulge me in explaining what is the purpose of your absurd actions?"

She had played out thousands of scenarios of what could have occurred tonight, but him being here had never been one. Although to be fair, the Daiyoukai had seemed to make a habit of being unpredictable. Scoffing at that thought, she tried to overlook the way his cold voice warmed a part of her lost soul. Or the way his hot breath made her body respond.

Pushing away her anxieties and frustrations, she debated whether he deserved such an explanation.

Huffing, at her inability to be rude to the man before her, she provided him with an answer.

"Well, if you must know, Sesshoumaru—I believe the word is called a hook-up?

She hadn't expected much or even a reason. Yet, she received both. A loud growl in her ear spoke of a warning to never repeat such words before him again.

Seriously?

Did he want to make demands now?

Letting out a frustrated groan, she turned to the Daiyoukai that plagued every aspect of her life.

Fine.

"You, Sesshoumaru Tashio, refused me. Therefore, I am here!" She hadn't meant for her words to hold so much frustration, but they did.

How many sleepless nights had she gone through now?

How many frustrating dreams?

How many different possible scenarios had her creative little mind made regarding him taking her?

Too many.

"The worst part? You did this. Yet, you want to be upset that I—what? Want to find someone else to finish the job?" His anger perplexed her. How many opportunities had she given him? How many humiliations had she endured? Glaring at him, she stood up from her bar stool and attempted to grab the attention of the bartender. Waving her hand around, she ignored the possessive Inu that stood behind her.

"Another beer, please?"

Apparently, ignoring the ice lord was too much. For within seconds, he was behind her. Snaking an arm around her waist possessively, he pulled her back to him.

This?

Again?

Annoyed at the likelihood of being left like the previous time, she snarled at Sesshoumaru in irritation.

"Are we playing this game? Sorry, but no thanks." Pushing the infuriating Daiyouaki away with her elbow, she grabbed the beer that was being handed to her.

"Hey, is he bothering you?" The new voice came out of nowhere and turning, Kagome noticed what appeared to be a wolf demon with an annoyed look on his face.

Raising her eyebrows in shock, she examined him.

He was handsome, but that had not been what grabbed her attention. No, it had been the fact that he had dared try to rescue her from the Daiyoukai himself. Most youkai would not have dared. Even still, the wolf with a high ponytail seemed to be giving her an elevator look while glaring at Sesshoumaru.

"Wolf, leave."

Eyes narrowing at Sesshoumaru, Kagome mused at his statement. Never before had she heard him use such a tone.

"Naw, I think I'm good where I am."

Had the situation not been so dire, she would have laughed.

"I ask again, can I lend a hand?" Following the request came a wink and an all too wolfish grin.

For a brief instant, she questioned the repercussions that would follow such approval. But was she not here because of the selfish actions of a certain Daiyoukai? So, was she not allowed to do the same?

Stepping past the Inu that seemed hellbent on tormenting her, Kagome returned the smile and gave the wolf her hand.

After all, why couldn't she cause some havoc?

"Kagome Higurashi."

Instead of shaking it as she had expected, the wolf placed a kiss.

"Koga Matsuura."

Then the pulse of anger came. The sheer amount of youki being aimed at the wolf nearly made her nauseous. If she had thought his previous tone was bad, this one was nothing short of terrifying.

"Wolf. Leave now. If not, your tribe will be removed from its seat."

Trying to comprehend what such a thing even meant, she glared at Sesshoumaru in rage. Looking back at the wolf with an apologetic smile, she silently cursed the Daiyoukai for being so damn hard to read.

Still, the wolf didn't even seem to be bothered. In fact, he all but brushed off the anger directed towards him and rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"It seems that your dog does not like to play fair. Please know if you are ever in any real danger, I'm a shout away."

With those words, the wolf walked away.

Turning to the Daiyoukai, she gave him an annoyed look.

"Really?"

Yet no response came.

Instead, those deep amber eyes gazed at her sharply.

After what seemed like years, he finally spoke.

"Remember, Little Miko. You requested this of me."

But before she could ask for clarification on what he meant, her surroundings flashed before her. Closing her eyes in dismay, she opened them up hoping for knowledge of what it was that had transpired.

Instead, she found herself on the bed of an all too familiar home.
