A/N: As always I'm so sorry it took me so long to update this story but hopefully this chapter will make up for it, it's the long anticipated (I think it is anyway) Chapter with the Trial. I'm looking forward to this myself as I've planned bits of it but I'm the sort of person who writes on impulses so I never actually know how something I write is going to end. Just a heads up, I'm not completely sure how things are done in a court house, so on some of the things I made it up. I did research a few things

Chapter Twenty Three: The Trial

"Jade, your father and I would like to apologize for the way we acted at dinner last night" Emma said, when Jade picked up the land-line. Jade sighed and rolled her eyes, it was always the same with her parents. They'd say something completely wrong and then try and apologize for it later, she had half the mind to tell her mom where to shove her apology but the fact that the trial was today she didn't need to be under any stress.

"Yeah okay, I've got to go" Jade dismissed, and then hung up the phone. Tori came out of the kitchen with a container filled with cookies and a to-go cup filled with coffee. Tori was wearing a business type skirt with a purple blouse and a black jacket that matched her skirt. Her long hair was tied up in a fancy up-do and Jade thought she looked beautiful. Jade was wearing black trousers, her favorite black boots and a turquoise shirt.

"Ready to go?" Tori asked, Jade sighed then nodded.

"Ready as I'll ever be, are the kids ready yet?" Jade wandered, Tori rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"It was your job to wake them up and remind them about this, remember?" Tori stated, Jade shrugged her shoulders.

"I forgot" She admitted. Tori sighed.

"Luckily you raised a very punctual daughter and she remembered, they are in the car" Tori said.

"Are you okay?" Beck asked, when he met Jade and Tori in the courts parking lot. Tori nodded.

"Yeah, just a little nervous" Tori admitted. Beck pressed his hand on her shoulder and offered a smile.

"It'll be okay" He assured her, but looked to Jade as he did. He could tell that she was on edge as much as Tori was, Jade was just good at hiding it! It was easy now for Beck to know when Jade was hiding her emotions, she'd done it so many times before he had all her tell signs memorized.

"Yeah, do we have to wait to be called in or can we just go in the room?" Tori asked, she'd never exactly been to court before.

"Yeah, they let us know when the rooms ready then we wait for the judge to arrive." Jade explained, she'd been here before. Not for the same reason of course but for her divorce with Alex and Patrick's father.

After a total of half an hour of waiting the judge was ready to start, the hospital was being represented by some scary looking corporate lawyer named; Mr Gareth Chadwick. While Jade and Tori had stuck with Mrs Owens. They were still a little unsure about their choice but they were a little stuck for options besides, Mrs Owens seemed nice and professional enough.

"I would like to call Victoria Vega to the stand" Mr Chadwick, told the judge. Tori gave Jade a nervous look to which she responded bu squeezing her hand.

"Miss Vega, do you swear to the truth, the hole truth, and nothing but the truth so help you god?" The judge asked, as Tori was handed a bible by one of the security guides.

"I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me god" Tori repeated holding the bible.

"Mr Chadwick, you may start" The judge Mr Burke, said.

"Miss Vega, where were you on June 3rd sixteen years ago?" Mr Chadwick asked, Tori tried to hold back a little sarcasm then.

"I was at home by myself, then my waters broke so I called a cab to take me to the hospital" Tori explained.

"So you were by yourself? Didn't any family members come with you?" He questioned. "Perhaps the father, did he visit you?" Tori shook her head.

"My parents were away on vacation, and my sister didn't answer my call. As for the father, Ryan. He and I had split up and he had made it clear to me that he didn't want anything to do with us, so I didn't call him. He knew how far along I was and he knew that if he did want to be in our child's life all he had to do was let me know" Tori explained.

"Now when you were in labor, did you notice anything weird?" Mr Chadwick asked. Tori furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she thought back to all those years ago.

"No, well I was under a lot of pressure and in a lot of pain. What exactly do you mean, Mr Chadwick?" Tori asked.

"With the doctors and nurses, did they seem overworked?" He asked, Tori thought back to this one nurse. Blair Hendrix, who was a sweet lady who took good care of her but Blair did seem a bit tired, Tori had figured that was normal though.

"I'm not sure, I remember a nurse being tired but I don't officially know if she was over-worked" Tori explained.

"Miss Vega, do you recall watching your child being switched with Miss West's child?" Mr Chadwick asked, anger started to bubble up inside Tori at that moment. Why would she watch that happen and not do anything about it?

"No, Or course not! I don't even know why someone would do that!" Tori said.

"Miss Vega is it true you are seeing the birth mother of the child you raised who is also the person who raised your child?" Mr Chadwick asked.

"Yes, that is correct" Tori admitted.

"And you've own Miss West since High school?" He stated, not really as a question.

"Yes" Tori said.

"How long have you had feelings for miss West?" He wandered.

"Since near the end of High-School, that's when I really knew" Tori explained.

"So is it possible that on the day you gave birth to; Jennifer West that you switched your baby with Jade's baby in an attempt to get closer to miss West?" Mr Chadwick, accused. Tori was really angry then.

"No, Of course not! I didn't even know that Jade was in labor at the time, we hadn't spoken for a couple of years and I would never do that!" Tori shouted, starting to cry.

"That is all your honor" Mr Chadwick said, calling Tori off the stand.

A/N: So how did I do in this chapter, it seems a little dramatic to me at this point, I would carry on but my hand hurts from typing too much and it's midnight here, I just wanted to get this up as soon as I could (And had something worth reading, which I think this is ) Of course I'll let you be the judge of that. I hoped you enjoyed this chapter.
