Chapter Fifty Three: Past Memory Return Part 1

Janessa and Leanne arrive at a place that was a bit familiar to Janessa.

"Where is this place?" Janessa questioned as she looked around the place. She doesn't know why, but it felt like she had been to this place before.

"It's the Thunder Academy," Leanna answered and Janessa looked over at her. "This place was abandon after Lothor attack and captured the students and my father".

"Lothor attack this place?"

Leanne nodded. "You weren't here when the attack happen because you were sends on a mission by my father to retrieve an item but you never return back".

"I never return back," Janessa looked down at the ground. "What happen to me?"

"Nobody know, we tried searching for you, but have no luck of finding you," Leanne answered. "What do you remember?"

Janessa looked up and stares at Leanne. "Nothing much, it just comes in bits of memory.

"Don't worry you will remember," Leanne places a hand on Janessa's shoulder.

"I hope so," Janessa mutters as she stares up at the sunset sky.

Skyla and Kapri were helping Cam cleaning around Ninja Ops. Shane, Tori, and Blake had already left for the night except for Hunter, who decided to stay behind. He was busy in his thoughts that he didn't seem to notices Kapri, who walked over to him.

"Hunter?" She gently tapped his shoulder.

Hunter snapped out from his thoughts and looked at her. "Sorry Kapri, what were you saying?"

Kapri shook her head. "Nothing, I was checking to see if you're okay".

Hunter smiles and placed his hand on her hand that was on his shoulder. "I'm fine, I was just thinking about Janessa".

"You're worried about her, aren't you?"

He nodded and took her hand off his shoulder. Then he wrapped his arms around her. "I am, but it's not what you think".

"Don't worry, I know what you meant," Kapri smiles and rest her head near his shoulder. "I'm not the jealous type, you know". She said before hugging him.

"I thought you were," he teased and she playfully hit him.

"Very funny, Hunter"

Hunter gently taps Kapri's nose with his index finger. "I was joking, you know".

Kapri smiles for a few second, but then stop.

"You had me scared there," She said all sudden and he looked down at her with a frown.

"What do you mean?" He confusedly asked.

Kapri sighs and looked down at her hands. "When you got sucked into the portal, I thought I never see you again".

"I'm sorry that I made you worried, but I was also worried that I wouldn't make back to you guys" Hunter smiles and rubs her arms. "Blake and I are going to go see Leanne tomorrow, do you want to come?"

"Is Blake fine with me coming?"

"Yeah, he's fine with it".

"Okay, I'll go with you," she agreed.

He kissed her on the head. "Then its settle, I'll see you tomorrow". He said before he let her go. Then he waves goodbye to Cam and Skyla and left ninja ops.

"Wait a second, let me get this straight," Dustin got up from the couch and paces back and forth. "Janessa is good?"

Marah, who was sitting on the couch, nods her head.

"How can you be sure about that?" He asked with uncertainly as he sat down beside her.

"I'm positive because me and Kapri had did some research and kept an eye on Janessa," she told him. "Plus, whenever she's around you, her good side show".

"Seriously," Dustin chuckles and points to himself. "Are you saying that being around me actually made Janessa become good rather than evil?"

"Well it did for me," she pointed out.

"Good point," he finally agreed. "Janessa haven't show up for work lately. Maybe, she decides to be evil," he assumed.

"I doubt it," Marah smiles a little. "I have a feeling she trying sort things out about herself".

"You're probably right," Dustin nodded and wrapped his arms around her.

Marah turned to Dustin. "So, tell me what I miss," she said, changing the subject.

"Nothing much, but you did missed meeting the past rangers in person. The battle didn't count".

"Wait," Marah's eyes widen for a second. "You knew I was there". She said, sounding surprised.

"Yeah I knew you were the one that saved me and help everyone," Dustin admitted.

"Why didn't you confront me?" She asked and Dustin gently grabbed her hand.

"I wasn't that sure it was really you, I had my doubt and suspicion," he told her.

"Oh," Marah looked at her hand that Dustin was holding.

"But seeing you alive confirm everything and this I won't let you leave me again," He added and she leans her head on his shoulder.

"Dustin?"

"Yeah"

"Did you know that Janessa has feeling for you?"

Dustin looked down at her and then straight ahead. "I knew about it. Why, your not jealous, are you?"

"No," Marah shook her head and smiles. "I was just curious".

"I don't have feeling for her if that what you were curious about and I only like her as a friend," He told her, slightly laughing.

"Again, I'm jealous," She pouted.

"You look pretty when you are jealous," he teased.

Marah grabbed a pillow on the couch and whack him in the arm, but he swiftly caught before it hit his arm and took it from her.

She grabbed another pillow and they starts a pillow fight, which end up with Dustin loosing because he was going easy on her so that he doesn't hurt her.

"Ok, that's enough playing for today," he said, grabbing the pillow back from her. "We'll play again when you are all better and heal".

Marah agreed and sat down on the couch while Dustin went to grab a blanket. Then he sat down besides her, putting the blanket on her and on him self.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" He asked as he grabs the remote on the small table beside the couch.

"Sure," Marah replied as she rests her head on Dustin's chest.

Dustin turned on the TV and watches the movie with her until both of them fell asleep.

The next day near the Thunder Academy, Hunter, Kapri, and Blake were waiting for Leanne. They had arrived a bit early before Leanne.

"Do you think she remember to meet us here?" Blake asked his brother.

"Of course, she was the one that suggested that we should meet up here," Hunter pointed out.

Blake nodded and looked around when he spotted Leanne walking toward them. "There she is," he pointed.

He, Hunter, and Kapri walked over to Leanne.

"So is Janessa your stepsister?" Hunter asked the question that has been on his and Blake mind. "Did you happen to run into her?"

"She is," Leanne nodded "But..." she hesitated to continued.

"But what?" Blake asked.

"She doesn't remember who she is," Leanne told them.

"So I take that you met up with Janessa," Hunter folds his arms, knowing full well from Leanna's expression that she already encountered Janessa.

"Yes," Leanna admitted. "But I can't let you see her",

"Why not?" Blake asked, sounding a bit upset. He really wants to see Janessa and tell her to join them and let them help recover her memory.

"Because she really doesn't want to see anyone right now and needed some time to think".

"We understand," Hunter placed a hand on Leanna's shoulder. "If there anything we can do to help, just call us".

"Thank you," Leanna smiles a little.

"We are glad that Janessa isn't with Lothor. We just want to help her, that's all". Blake told her.

"I know and I appreciate it".

"We should get going, call us if you need anything," Hunter said before and he and Kapri begins to walk away with Blake.

"Blake!" Leanna suddenly called out.

"Yeah," Blake stopped in his track and looked over at Leanne.

"Can I talk to you for a second," she asked.

"Sure," Blake nodded and gestures Hunter and Kapri to go ahead. Then he walked over to Leanne. "What is it?"

"I need your help".

"My help," He points to himself as he stares at her confused. "Why me and how come you didn't ask Hunter?"

Leanna sighed. "Okay, I'm going to tell you, but you have to promise not to tell Hunter".

"Alright," He agreed. "I promise". He said with no hesitation, knowing that whatever Leanne was about to tell him must really important and it related to Hunter.

Dustin was working at Storm Charger when Shane walked in from the front door over to him.

"Hey Dustin"

"Hey Shane," The Earth ninja looked up and greeted his friend. "What's up?"

"Nothing, just checking on you," Shane said, leaning against the counter. "So where Marah?"

"Tori took her back to Ninja Ops this morning since I have to work and she's doing fine by the way". Dustin answered.

"That's good". Shane nodded. "Need help with anything".

"Yeah, actually I need help," Dustin points behind him toward the backroom. "Kelly has some boxes back there. Can you help me stack them".

"Sure," Shane agreed and left to the backroom.

Dustin continues to work with the equipment in his hands when he spotted someone watching him from the window from his peripheral vision.

Swiftly, he placed the equipment on the table and run out of the Storm Charger.

Janessa was running away from the Storm Charger with Dustin chasing her from behind. Earlier, she was walking up to Storm Charger, hesitates to walk in when she saw Shane for a far walking over to Storm Charger. She quickly hides behind the shop and wait until Shane left inside. Then she went up to window and took a peak inside.

It didn't last long when Dustin spotted her and started running after her.

"Janessa wait!" Dustin caught up to her and grabbed her arm, forcing her to stop.

"What do you want from me?" She retorted as she turned and looked at him

"I should be the one asking that!" He exclaimed. "You were the one watching me through the window".

"Your mistaken!" She denied.

"Am I!" Dustin angrily said. "I must have because you lied to me in the first place after I trust you and consider you as my friend". He tightens his grip on her arm when he felt her struggling. "I want some answer and you are going to give me". He insisted, making her looked at him.

"I never lied to you," She finally spokes nicely and calm. "I just didn't tell you that I was indeed the mask figure and I didn't use you at all. I cherish our friendship"

Dustin loosens his grip on Janessa's arm. "Cherish our Friendship? If you did, you would have told me. I am not going to believe what you said".

"I am telling the truth," She tried convinced him, but he still didn't believe it. "Fine, I might as well go away and never bother you".

"Not before you give answers," Dustin said, refusing to let her go that easy.

"What answers do you need?"

"Are you working for Lothor right now?" he asked.

"No," Janessa replied immediately," and I don't expect you to believe me either, but I work alone".

Dustin starting to believe her a little, but still haven't trust her fully. "Why are you the mask figure?" He asked the next question.

"Because Zurgane made me or more like I choose to be the mask figure".

"When you were hanging out with me at Storm Charger, was that all a lie and scheme?" He asked the question that was on his mind the most.

"No it was, it was all real and all me," she admitted and Dustin was satisfied with the answer she gave.

"What change your mind?" He asked the last question and let go of her arm.

"First of all, I was ordered by Zurgane to get close to you and use you as a pawn to get to the other rangers, but as I gotten to know you, I change my decision. It like there was...,"

"There was good inside of you," Dustin finished her sentence and Janessa nodded. "You can go".

"So you're going to let me go and not asking me to join you and your friends?" She asked, staring at him confused.

Dustin nodded. "I'm not going to force you to. Until you are ready then you can join us. It's your decision".

Janessa smiles," Thank you Dustin,"

"Go," He lightly pushes her," Before the others see you".

Janessa was about to leave when a monster appears behind Dustin. It was a metal monster with one hand shaped like a pistol.

"Well, well, if isn't the yellow ranger and Janessa," he sneered.

"Dustin immediately got in front of Janessa. "Go," he glances back at her. "I got this".

Janessa nodded and begin to run away. Halfway, she felt something was not right so she quickly turned back around and ran back to Dustin.

When she made it back to Dustin, she saw him lunging toward the metal monster, who never made a move, but just stood there. Knowing that it was trap, she ran toward him.

"Dustin!" She rushes over and shield for him.

"Janessa, what are you doing!" He exclaimed, shocked to see her. Before he can question what happened, the metal monster blasts Janessa right in the head.

"Janessa!" Dustin shouted and caught her as she collapsed.

The metal monster smirked as Shane came running out toward Dustin.

"Dustin, what happen?" He was surprised to see Janessa in Dustin's arm, but more surprised to see the metal monster

"My work here is done," the metal monster said before he disappears.

"What did that metal monster meant by that?" Shane questioned.

"Janessa, answer me! Are you alright?" He heard Dustin shouted and run over to his friend. He kneels down beside his friend. "What happen?"

"She saves my life," Dustin told him.

"We better take her to ninja ops and have Cam take a look at her," Shane suggests.

Dustin lifts Janessa up in his arms and ninja streaks to Ninja Ops with Shane

Somewhere in the forest, the metal monster was standing alone when Vexacus appears.

"So did you done what I ask you?"

"Yes," Metal monster turned and bows his head at Vexacus.

"Excellent," Vexacus smirked. "So Janessa took the bait after all. I knew she would save the yellow ranger". He turned to the metal monster. "Make sure you destroy her".

"I have made sure she doesn't wake up. Right now she is in her memories that she had forgotten. I will enter it and destroy her".

"Proceed," Vexacus ordered before he vanishes.
