Chapter 56: Discovering the Truth (Part One)

It has been two days since Hunter, Blake, and Tori had saved Janessa from Vexacus's monster. Janessa was still unconscious and at Ninja Ops at Cam. Cam have been monitoring her making sure that she was fine with Marah, Kapri, and Skyla.

Today, Marah and Skyla were watching Janessa while Cam went on an errand when Blake walked in.

"Hey Blake," Marah and Skyla glances up and greeted him.

"Hey," He replied as he walked over stood beside Marah and Skyla. "How is she doing?" He asked, referring to Janessa.

"Everything is stable for now. She haven't woke up yet". Marah told him as she wipes the sweat on Janessa's face with the damp towel. "If you are looking for Cam, he's not here. He's out on an errand".

"Actually, I was hoping to speak to you," Blake turned to her. "Is it alright if I can speak to you for a few minute? It won't take long".

Marah stares at him confused, wondering what was going on and if it was urgent or not. "Sure," She handed the damp towel over to Skyla and follow Blake to the corner of the room.

"What is it that you want to talk about?" She asked once they were alone and out of Skyla hearing range.

"Well, I was wondering how much you know about Janessa," He went into the subject he had wanted to ask her since he walked in.

"I have known that she was one of the students of the Thunder Academy that was missing from Zurgane. He was the one that found her". Marah explained what she knew.

"Where did he find her?" Blake seriously wants to know more. So far, he and Blake knew from Leanne that Janessa was Sensei Omino step daughter that he took in and raise when she was a baby. Then she was send off on a mission and gone missing. No one knew what happen to her. That was what he and Hunter wanted to know and he was sure that Marah would know since Janessa had appeared suddenly on Lothor side.

"At the bottom of the cliff, He brought her in and she has been working for him and Lothor". Marah was starting to question why Blake was curious to know about Janessa and is there something he wasn't telling her and the others about.

"Anything else you know or Zurgane told you?" he kept question further and wanting to know more.

Marah shook her head. "Sorry Blake, that's what I know and can tell you"

Blake smiles and touches Marah's shoulder "That's alright, you were helpful".

"Maybe I can help," another voice spokes of all sudden.

Blake and Marah turned their head toward entrance of Ninja Ops and saw Kapri standing there.

"Kapri?" Marah says, surprised to see her. "Aren't you supposed to be with Hunter?

"Yeah I was," Kapri walked over to her sister "But I notice that he was busy and was worried about Janessa so I offer to come here and check on her since I also want to know how she was or if she was awake or not".

"She haven't woke up and is still resting," Marah told her. "I should get back and check on her. I'll let you two talk and you can fill me in later".

"Okay," Kapri agreed and gave her sister a hug. Then Marah left to go check on Janessa and help Skyla.

"Kapri, what do you know?" Blake questioned.

"I overheard Zurgane talking to Lothor back when I and Marah was still on the ship working for Lothor".

Kapri's Flashback

Kapri was heading toward her room after a long day going on Lothor's order to fight the rangers, which she doesn't like to do.

As she was reaching to her room, she had happened to passed by the main room where Lothor and Zurgane were talking. Curiously, she approached quiet and eavesdropped on their conversation.

"That warrior that you found is impressive and strong," Lothor remarked.

Zurgane bowed his head down to him "Her name is Janessa and Thank you sir, I'll be happy to let to know that she will help us destroy the rangers".

"Excellent, but make sure that she doesn't betray us".

"I already have that under control".

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lothor was now wearing a confused and curiosity expression.

"You see, she owe me because I was the one that saved her and brought her in".

"Are you saying that she was…?"

Knowing what Lothor was intending to asked, Zurgane nodded. "Yes and believe me, she's very strong".

"Hmm, not bad," Lothor laughed. "I would like to meet her and see her strength myself".

"Right this way sir," Zurgane stepped aside and let Lothor went ahead first. Then he followed behind.

Kapri who have been listening slowly turned and left to her room where Marah was waiting her. In her mind, she was planning on telling her sister what she heard.

End of Kapri's Flashback

"So, something did happen to Janessa when she was missing," Blake says after Kapri finish telling him what she knew.

"Yes," Kapri agreed. "The question is what happened".

"That was what we need to know," Blake looked at Kapri when Shane walked in with Dustin and Tori.

"Hey, what are you two talking about," Shane approaches up to Blake and Kapri while Dustin went over to Marah and Skyla.

"Yeah, what's going on?" asked Tori, who next to Shane.

"About how Janessa was," Blake replied.

"Is she alright?" Shane asked.

"Is she awake?" Tori also asked.

Blake turned and glances over at Janessa's form. "She should be". He hopes that she is and that she will wake up.

"How's everything thing going?" Dustin wrapped his arm around Marah's arm and asked. "How's Janessa?"

"Okay and Janessa is fine" She told him when suddenly the computer main frame started to beep. Everyone in the room rush over to see what was going. A white box pop with a black text saying that a test was completed.

"What test?" Shane asked as he confusedly looked over at Dustin and Tori.

Dustin shrugged "Don't look at me, I'm just clueless as you are. Blake?" He, Tori, Skyla and Shane turned their attention on the navy ranger. He didn't respond to Dustin and was staring at the computer.

"Blake?"

Blake's Flashback

One day earlier, Blake had entered Ninja Ops and looked around when his eyes landed on the samurai green ranger. Making sure no one was around, he walked over to him.

"Cam, do you have a minute?"

"Sure," Cam turned around in his chair facing the navy ranger. "What is it?"

"Sensei is not around is he?" Blake glances around the room one more time before he looked straight at Cam.

"No, why?"

"I need your help Cam".

Cam got up from his chair and folded his arms. "What is it this time, girl problem or did you do something bad that you don't want Hunter and my father to know?"

Blake shook his head. "That's not it". He put his hands up as if he was surrendering.

"Then what is it?" Cam asked. Now he was curious to know what Blake need his help for.

Blake sighs and took something out of his pocket and tossed is at Cam, who catch it and stared at it. His eyes widen a little when he realized what he was holding in his hand.

In his hand, it was a small test tube, containing a liquid. "This is blood," He says calmly as he looked at Blake for an explanation. "Mind telling me what you are doing with this?"

"It's Hunter's blood".

"What for?" Cam still not understanding and was a bit shock.

Blake sighs. "I need you to run a test on Hunter and Janessa blood".

"Why?" Cam folded his arms, refusing to do what Blake asked unless he know what was going on and the reason.

"Leanne and I think that Hunter and Janessa are related and we want to test if our theory is correct," Blake says, hoping that Cam would understand and help him.

"Let me guess, Hunter doesn't know about this and neither everyone else, right?" Cam asked and Blake nodded.

"I promise I would tell Hunter and others if you help me," He assured.

"Fine," Cam unfolded his arms and went over to Janessa to take her blood. "By the way, how did you took Hunter's blood?"

"The day Hunter, I, and Tori saved Janessa, Leanne convince him that she want to run some test on him to see if he's okay and he agreed".

Cam have finish taking Janessa's blood and is now at his computer. "Don't you think he would get suspicious?" Cam asked, not glancing back at Blake. He was busy typing on the keyboard staring at the screen.

"Maybe," Blake muttered, wondering if Hunter would get suspicious or not.

"I'm going to run the test, but it's going to take a while before I get the result," Cam turned around facing Blake after he finish typing.

"Thanks Cam," Blake say with gratitude

Blake's Flashback

"Uh Blake?" Shane tapped on Blake's shoulder, snapping Blake out from his thoughts.

"Huh? What? Blake turned to his friend.

"Dude, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm okay," Blake nodded. "Why?"

"Well, for starter, you didn't answer when we were calling your name and you were staring at main computer," Dustin told him.

"Sorry, I was thinking about something that was on my mind," he apologized as he touch Dustin and Shane shoulders. "So, what were you guys asking about earlier?'

"About that?' Shane pointed at the box appearing on the computer screen. "What test is that?'

"Uh that is um," Blake was unsure whether he should tell them, but knew that he would eventually have to tell them sooner or later. Just when he was about to answer, footsteps interrupt him.

"What's going on?" Cam's voice questioned and everyone turned to see him walking over to them.

Dustin pointed behind at the main computer and spokes "While you were gone, this box message pop up on the computer screen saying the test was complete so we are curious to know what test it is".

Cam sat down in his chair in front of the main computer "It is a test that Blake ask me to do".

Dustin, Tori, and Shane looked at Blake for explanation while Skyla, Kapri and Marah were staring at the screen.

"What's going on, Blake?" Tori asked with concern.

Blake sighs. "Fine, I'll tell you," he replied before he begins to tell them what's going on.

At Storm Chargers

Hunter was working on the motor cross bike when Kelly came out from the back room.

"Your still here?" She surprisingly asked.

"Yeah, I just want to finish this up," He replied without look at her. "Are you closing up?"

"Not yet," She went over to the counter and check on something. Then she went over to Hunter.
"Is everything alright?" She asked with a hint of concern in her voice.

"Yeah," Hunter stopped what he was doing and turned to her. "Everything okay".

"Are you sure?"

Hunter wipe his hands on the rags then he got up and turned to her. "I'm sure". He nodded at her.

"Okay".

Deciding not to question further, Kelly walked over to the counter and grabbed her bag. She then approached over to Hunter and touches his shoulder "I'm going to leave early. Stay as long as you want until you ready to leave," She smiled and gave him the keys to Storm Charger. "Just make sure you locked up when you leave". She told him before leaving

"Thanks Kelly," He smiled up at her before returning to his work as Kelly left out the door.

At Ninja Ops

Blake had finished explaining what was going to Shane, Skyla, Tori, and Dustin.

"Wait, are you saying that you and Leanne think that Janessa is related to Hunter?" Shane asked.

"As in sibling?" Dustin added with a surprised look on his face.

"Yeah," Blake nodded. "That's why we want to run a test and that why I ask Cam to do it".

"Why didn't you tell us about it?" Tori asked, sounding a bit hurt that Blake never talk to her about it. She would gladly help out if she can.

"I just want to be sure that it true before telling you guys," He sighs. "I'm sorry for not tell you guys sooner".

"Hey, I'm not upset," Dustin stares at the message box still blinking on the computer screening wondering if Janessa was related to Hunter or not. "I'm just surprised and shock. That's all".

"We understand why you didn't tell us, but you should have," Shane patted Blake's back while Tori touched his shoulder.

"Don't worry we're not upset, but we would like to know if your theory is correct or not" Tori replied with a smile on her face.

Blake turned and looked at Tori, Dustin, and Shane, who nodded at him. "Okay, let's do it". He agreed.

"Okay, let see the result," Cam was about to click the message box, popping up the test result.

Everyone is room was silent as they stare at the screen unaware that Janessa was slowly conscious.
