Chapter Fifty Seven : Discovering the Truth (Part Two)
Cam had clicked on the message box, popping up the test result.
Everyone in the room was quiet as they stared at the screen, reading the result. Immediately, their eyes widen.
"I don't believe it," Dustin was the first to speak, breaking the silence.
"No way," Shane added, still staring at the screen in shock.
"What's going on?" a voice interrupted.
Everyone turned around facing the entrance of Ninja ops and saw Hunter standing there with a confused and curious look on his face.
"Hunter?" Blake surprisingly says as he was questioning how long his brother was standing there.
Hunter walked up to the computer main frame and stood beside his brother. "Why is everyone surrounding at the computer?" He asked as he eyed everyone. "Did Lothor send one his monster to attack?"
Everyone was silent; no body has made a move to answer. Cam sighed and turned around in his chair. "Hunter, you need to see this". He got up and stepped aside. Soon everyone move aside as well.
Hunter went up to computer screen and see what everyone was looking at it. "What?" He averted his attention from the computer screen to his brother. "Is this true?"
Instead of answering, Blake nodded.
"Janessa is my…" Hunter paused, unable to complete his sentence due to being shock by the truth. Suddenly, he realizes something. "So, that's why Leanne asks for my blood.
"Hunter, I didn't mean to…," Blake tried explained, but Hunter placed his hand on his shoulder, stopping him.
"No need to explain," Hunter said before he turned and walked over to Janessa and checked on her. Without saying a word, he left out of Ninja Ops unaware that Janessa's hand has move.
Everyone was wondering if Hunter was alright. Blake was about to followed his brother when Kapri stopped him.
"I'll go after him," She told him before leaving Ninja Ops, going after Hunter.
Near the race track, Hunter was sitting on his motor cross bike watching the people race on their motor cross bikes.
He has a lot thing going his mind. Finding out about him and Janessa was surprising and shocking to him that he doesn't know how to deal with it.
"How would Janessa react to this? Would she accept it or not accept it?" were the questions on Hunter's mind.
A hand suddenly reaches out and touches his shoulder, startling him a bit. He turned to his side and saw Kapri was beside him.
He sighs and touched her hand that was on his shoulder.
"Are you alright? You're not upset, are you?" She asked with a concern look on her face.
"I'm not mad and I'm okay," He told her and then looked back at the race track. "It just that I'm shock to find out that Janessa is my biological sister"
"And you don't know what to do about it," Kapri says what was on Hunter's mind.
Hunter turned to her and nodded.
"All this time, she was my sister and I never knew about it," He looked down at the ground. "It made me wonder if Sensei Omino knew about this and didn't tell me about it". He looked up at her. "Kapri, I attack my sister when she was working for Lothor".
"Hunter, you didn't know so don't blame yourself," Kapri comforted him. "Beside, Janessa didn't know you were her brother either. That time when you were fighting her, she was being brainwash and was force to attack you and the others".
"You're right, but what about Janessa, how is she going to deal with this if she find out that I'm her brother?"
Kapri wish that she could say that Janessa would be fine if she found out about this, but she can't bring herself to say it. Instead, she ended of saying "I don't know how Janessa is going to feel about this, but what I do know is that family is important. Janessa would never turn her back on you. Perhaps, she may need to time to absorb this information"
"Thanks Kapri," Hunter smiles and wrapped his arm around Kapri, pulling her close to him. They both stare out into the sunset.
It was nighttime at Ninja Ops
Everything was blurry and fuzzy as Janessa slowly regain conscious. She notices that she was in an unfamiliar place yet something tell her that she been here before.
"Where am I?" was the first thought that come to her mind. The last thing she remembered was saving Dustin from the monster that was send by Vexacus, who was trying to eliminate her.
She started to winces in pain as she felt her head throbbing. Her hands automatic grabbed the sides of her head as multiple images of memories appear in her mind. She remembered everything even her past memory that she had forgotten.
Janessa was slowly sitting up, clutching her left arm that has a bandage on it. She was still processing the information about Hunter and her that she had overheard when she was slowly regaining conscious earlier. She was just as shock as he was to find out truth and was thinking about what to do about it. The fact that she has her memories back has made her think about how to save Sensei Omino and the students at the Thunder Academy, who were still trapped on Lothor ship. She remembered back when she was sent on a mission by Sensei Omino to retrieved a weapon that she now have with her. She was heading back to Thunder Academy when she got attacked by one of Lothor monster. She easily defeated the monster only to get blasted by Lothor that sends her flying off the cliff to her death.
Zurgane had revived her back, only to erase her memory and made her work for him and Lothor to defeat the rangers, which wasn't what she had planned to do.
She got up and headed toward the exit. She needed to leave to clear her mind and sort things about herself and where to go.
"Going somewhere," a voice spokes up, interrupting her thoughts.
She swiftly turned around to see Cam standing at the computer main frame, folding his arm, and was watching her.
Knowing that Janessa doesn't trust him, Cam held his hands up. "Don't worry, you're safe here". He assured her. "You shouldn't be moving around, you're not fully recover yet,"
He didn't even question whether she got her memory back or not because he knew it not a good time to ask especially with her condition, but something was telling him that she might have. Janessa looked away and spokes, interrupting Cam's thoughts, "I can't stay here".
"I understand that you need some time to be alone." Cam walked over to Janessa, but kept his distance and continues "So, I'm not going to force you to stay, but I do recommend that you stay here where it safe since Lothor and his goons are looking to eliminate you".
"Cam is right, Janessa," another voice spokes.
Cam and Janessa turned around and saw Sensei was standing on the table watching them. "It would best if you stay here until you fully recover. Once you're better, you are free to leave. I can assure you that the others won't question you anything until you are ready to speak and that they won't bother you while you recover".
"At least think about it," Cam suggested, hoping that Janessa would stay to recover from her injuries.
Janessa stared at Cam and Sensei debating on decision for a few minute,
"I appreciate your kind offer, but I have to go," She told them. "I hope you understand".
'Very well, be careful and safe out there Janessa," Sensei told her and she bow her head down to him before turning around to leave.
"Wait, before you go," Cam left to go grabbed something from his chair at the computer main frame and then came back over to Janessa. "At least take this with you". He extended a black bag toward her.
She stares down at the black bag and then at Cam confused.
"It sometime that will help you recovers from your injuries which will be useful to you," He told her.
Janessa slowly reached for the bag with hesitation on whether she should take the bag when Cam grabbed her hand with his free hand, which startling her a little.
"It's okay, you can take it," He released her hand and step back a little.
"Thank you," She looked up Cam and then bowed her head down once more to Sensei before ninja streaking out of Ninja Ops.
"Be careful Janessa," Cam muttered as he stared after Janessa leaving Ninja Ops.
"Why did you let her go?" Hunter retorted. It was the next day when he had arrived earlier to Ninja Ops to see his sister only to discover that she had already gone. "Why didn't you stop her, Cam?"
"I did try to, but she wanted to leave," Cam explained. "She needed to sort things out on her own".
"Sort things out?" Hunter was a bit confused but then realizes something. "Are you saying that she has regained all her memory back?"
"It possible that she got her memory back, but I can't be sure until it confirm by her"
Hunter turned away from Cam and walked over to the wall. "But she doesn't know about me being her brother" He punched the wall with his fist. "She's out there alone and vulnerable".
Cam sighs, feeling awful about letting Janessa leave. "I'm sorry Hunter," He apologized. "I wish there's something I can do".
"There is," Hunter turned around. "Can you track and pinpoint where Janessa might be?" He asked.
"I'll see what I can do to help," Cam agreed as the others walked into Ninja Ops. Kapri walked over to Hunter and placed a hand on his shoulder, comforting him.
"Cam, what's going on," Tori asked, noticing Hunter was upset.
Blake walked up and stood beside Tori. He looked around. "Janessa? She's gone". He said, realizing why his brother was upset.
"Cam, Did something bad happen to Janessa?" Dustin asked.
"No," Cam shook her head. "She woke up last night and left on her own".
"But she's not fully heal to leave on her own," Tori stated. "She's vulnerable and is not safe for her especially when Lothor is targeting her".
"We should search her," Marah suggested. She was worried for Janessa and wonder where she could be.
"Yeah," Dustin agreed.
Shane nodded and looked at everyone. "Let's starting searching now" He and others were about to leave when Sensei called out to them.
"No, we will not search for her". He told them.
"But Sensei…," Dustin starting to say, but Sensei cut him off.
"Janessa will be fine. She's smart and strong and will overcome any obstacle that stand in her way" Sensei explained. "It best that you leave her alone until she ready to face everyone," He suggested.
"He's right," Cam agreed. "As much as I want to search for her with you guys, it better if we give her time to be alone to sort things out. When she ready, she will come back".
"We won't search for her, Sensei," Shane said a moment later with understanding from him and the others except from Hunter, who was worried and upset. It didn't go unnoticed by Kapri and Marah, who was watching him and was also concern for Janessa too.
They hope that Janessa would be safe and soon return.
TBC: Janessa has left, but this isn't the last we have seen of her. Blake, Hunter and Janessa will reunite, but that will be later on. Review and tell me what you think.
