Chapter Fifty Nine: Gem For A Day Part II
"What is it, Skyla?" Sensei asked.
Skyla pulled two items out and show it to Sensei and Kapri. "These are the bracelet from where I live and it can protect anyone that wear it from any magic or spell affect". She explained. "Even from the gem of souls from draining their energy". She gave one to Kapri and placed the other one on Marah's wrist.
"Skyla, thank you," Kapri stared at the bracelet in her hands. "I don't know what to say."
Skyla touched Kapri's hand and smiles "Let just say that I want to return that favor and beside we are friends. So there no need to thank me".
Kapri smiled and put the bracelet on her wrist and beginning to feel better. Then she and Skyla went back to looked at the battle on the computer main screen.
Hunter was still battling Condortron when he got knocked down the cliff and fell down on the ground on his back.
"You are no match for Condortron,' Vexcaus laughed and Condortron approached over to Hunter, who sat up ready to fight.
"Oh yeah"
As Condortron ready to attack, he got blasted in the chest and fell backward down on the ground on his back.
"Huh?" Hunter looked to see Shane and others show up on their Tsunami Cycles while Vexcaus growled at the interference. "Guys!" He rushed over to them, glad to see them.
Cam got down from Shane's Tsunami Cycle and touched Hunter on the arm. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah," Hunter nodded and then turned around to look at Vexacus and Condortron regrouping. "Huh?"
Suddenly Motodrone appeared with the Kelzaks on his own bike "Miss me?" He pointed his finger at the rangers.
"You?" Hunter stared at Motodrone.
"Huh?" Shane and Tori said.
"This is my battle!" Vexacus growled as he stared at Motodrone, who ignored him and ordered the Kelzaks to attack the rangers.
The rangers and kelzaks charged forward at each other and the battle began.
"Laser fire!" Shane fired the laser from his bike while Tori and Blake double teamed Motodrone who tried to blast at them using his bike.
"Ready?" Tori asked.
"Yeah," Blake replied.
They flipped off their own bikes, passing each other and fired their ninja powers at the gold robot who rode passed by them and turned his bike around to charge at them.
Motodrome fell off his bike and stumbled as his body sparks and start smoking
Dustin rode on his bike, firing laser from his bike at the Kelzaks, destroying them.
Cam was fighting the Kelzaks when Condortron flew toward him, swooped down, and slashed him across his chest. He fell down and rolled to the ground.
Hunter saw it and summoned his bike."Ninja Glider Bike!" He jumped onto his bike and pressed a button "Flight Mode Engage!" He went after Condortron. "I got you now".
Vexacus watched Hunter in the air before blasting lighting at the cycle and then see condortron charged at Hunter and made him crash his cycle. He laughed as Hunter crashed his bike into the side of the cliff.
Blake ran over and yelled. "Hunter NOOOO!" He ran ahead to see his brother on the ground and helped him up. "Hunter!"
"I'm okay," He told his brother.
Tori punched Motodrone in the face which sends him tumbling backward as Dustin drove his bike in front of Tori.
"Lucky, I came when I did," Motodrone glanced at Vexacus.
"I didn't request backup!" Vexacus spats.
"We will leave you this time but beware I'm watching!" Motodrone concluded before he retreat and disappeared with the Kelzaks.
"Return to the shop," Vexacus commanded Condortron . "I'll finish this later" Condortron retreated and flew into sky as Hunter and Blake made over to their friends.
"Huh?" The rangers were a bit confused by Motodrone and Condortron sudden retreat leaving Vexacus left to fight them.
"Any last words?" Vexacus growled at them.
"Yeah," Cam took off his gold shield and yelled. "SUPER SAMURAI MODE!" He spins his helmet.
"I'm pulling the strings now!" Vecaus unleashed a bunch of energy strings that latched on the rangers. "Dance! My puppets!" He lifted the rangers up in the air and smashed them into each other before dropping them down on the ground.
"What do you want?" Cam slowly sat up and asked.
Vexacus shot the energy string at Cam and made him move toward. "Just having some fun!" He laughed and flipped Cam up and slammed him to the ground. Then he grabbed Cam's wrist and lifted him off the ground.
The other rangers got up and reground.
"Give him back!" Shane demanded.
"Sure!" Vexacus retorted and laughed as he tossed Cam down and rolling on the ground. "I'll take you all on," He drew out his sword out as the rangers took their swords out as well.
"Ninja Swords!"
The rangers raced forward as Shane called for a Ninja Shadow Battle to fighit but Vexacus easily defeated them and throw them to aside,
Blake lunged at Vexacus with his weapon. "Navy Antler!" He used his weapon to grip Vexacus's wrist when Vexacus grabbed his arms.
Hunter cartwheel in behind Vexacus from a far and fire at Vexacus using his crimson blaster when Blake got tossed to him causing to fell backward down to the ground on his back.
"Ready for a Vex X," Vexacus suddenly disappeared as Hunter and Blake got up.
"Huh?" They looked around confused when the ground started to shake. "Whoa!"
Vexacus appeared standing on top of a giant shark fin "Land Shark Attack!" He called out and attacks the two thunder rangers and knocking them down to the ground.
The wind rangers and Cam ran over to them.
"Guys are you okay?" Shane asked as Tori and Dustin helped Blake and Hunter. "Where is he?" He looked ahead and saw Vexcus appeared back on the ground walking toward them.
"You didn't think I'd leave without saying goodbye!" He cackled. "Even without the gem, I will defeat you," He declared before he vanished away.
The rangers opened their visors and looked back at Hunter confused and wanted to know what's going on.
"What gem?" Tori asked confused. "What does he mean, Hunter? Hunter?"
Hunter stared at his friends and brother unable to say anything.
Back in Ninja Ops, Hunter show the brown pouch to everyone in the hand.
"Gem of souls," Hunter says.
Cam frowned and looked at Hunter before looked down at gem, "But I threw it into the ocean".
Hunter opened the brown pouch revealing the two piece of the gem of soul that was glowing dimly "Not all of them".
Everyone in room was shock to see the gem of soul in Hunter's hands.
"You should've told me, Hunter!" Blake spokes and folded in arms, clearly upset at his brother for not telling him.
Tori looked down at Blake and surprised that he wasn't aware about the gem of soul. "You didn't know about this?"
"No," Blake looked up at Tori and then at Hunter, "And we're going to have a long talk about why, aren't we bro?"
"I was going to tell you," Hunter insisted. "But the more time that passed, the harder it got. I'm sorry," He apologized.
"Those fragments must have been the source of the radiation that Kapri and I were tracking earlier," Cam realized.
Dustin tightened his fists and looked over at Marah who was still unconscious. He and Skyla were by Marah side listening to the conversation. "And it the source that cause Marah and Kapri energy to be drained," He spats and Skyla put a hand on his shoulder.
Hunter looked around and saw Marah still resting on the table bed while Kapri was still awake sitting on the chair at the computer main frame monitors. He was concern and upset that they were affect by the gem of souls.
"Zurgane's sword has nothing to do with the radiation," Cam said and Hunter looked over at him.
"After Lothor shattered the Gem, I hid these two pieces out there." Hunter told the others. "I'd go out there every now and then to find out if they can help me contact my parents."
"I understand that sometimes your loss is difficult to accept, but what's done is done." Sensei stated as the rangers looked down at him in his habitat. "You can never go back in time."
"Not without a scroll or something." Dustin added, remembering how Cam traveled back in time to retrieve the Samurai Amulet.
Hunter sighed a bit to himself. "I know my parents are gone, but I still miss them." He said before looking up slightly. "And those students up on Lothor's ship, someone misses them too. But it's not too late for them. Let's bring them back." He suggested as he placed the Gem fragments in Cam's hand. Cam glanced down at the fragments before looking at Hunter, who walked away and went over to Kapri.
"Kapri, I'm…," He started to say but Kapri grabbed Hunter's hand and shook her head.
"It okay, Marah and I are going to be fine, thanks to Skyla" She assured and Hunter slightly smiled at her.
Dustin looked up and stared over at Kapri and asked. "How did Skyla help you?"
"With this?" She showed the bracelet on her wrist to Dustin and the others. "It help protect me and Marah from any spell or magic effect and it even restore our energy".
"That's great," Dustin smiles in relieve and stared at Marah who was still asleep.
"I think I may know how to get on Lothor ship to free the ninja student using the gem of souls," Cam stated, grabbing everyone attention.
Later on, Cam turned to his teammates wearing his ranger suit and holding his helmet in his arm. "With the Gem shards, I should have enough energy to be able to break through Lothor's energy field." He started. "Once I've done that, you guys should be able to teleport onto Lothor's ship."
"We'll be standing by." Shane assured the green ranger.
"Be careful Cam," Tori said.
"Why does everyone keep telling me that?" Cam asked as the others smiled a bit.
"Good luck." Tori watched as Cam leave.
A panel in the wall opened up and Cam walked down it towards the room where the zords were usually kept as everyone watched the computer monitors.
Lothor who saw his nephew heading toward his ship called for Vexacus, who immediately appeared.
"You call. What can I do for you?"
"That too smart for his good nephew is up to something again." Lothor told him.
"You must be so proud" Vexcaus responded.
"I want him stop," Lothor spats.
"Of course sir," Vexacus work on the controller "Activate the defenses". He used the weapon of the ship and fired at the Dragon Force vehicle.
Lurking in the shadow, a figure was watching as it slowly raised the staff up and aimed at Vexacus standing at the controller.
A crimson energy emitted from the staff and blasted at Vexacus and then at the controller.
Vexacus fell down to the ground in pain and looked over at the direction where the blast was coming from and growled. He summoned the Kelzak Furies "Find the intruder!"
The Kelzak Furies took off and searched for intruder.
The Rangers were gathered around the computer main frame watching as Cam flew towards Lothor's ship.
"So far, so good. I should reach the ship in a matter of…" Cam's voice say when all of sudden Lothor's ship blast it energy beam at the Dragon Force vehicle Cam was in and Cam yelled.
"Cam!" Shane yelled. "Cam, come in!" he pleased as they all stared at the screen, worried.
"I'm hit, but I'm okay." Cam assured his teammates as he avoided more lasers. "The problem is if I don't get closer, I'll never be able to break through the energy field."
Suddenly, the image on the screen changed and showed a giant Condortron flying around the forest and squawking. "Uh oh." Blake muttered. "The big bird is back."
"We have to call the Zords," Shane suggested.
"We can't leave Cam out there," Hunter argued as he looked over at Shane.
"Cyber Cam and I will monitor my son," Sensei told the rangers. "You must take the zords and face Condortron".
"Let's go," Tori said and left with others following behind.
As Cam continued avoid the laser beam, he noticed the laser beam stopping firing and the force field began to weaken.
"Now is my chance. Engage density drill," He blasted at the energy field creating a hole in it. "Okay, here goes," He accelerated.
The rangers formed their zords and went into battle.
"Let's do this!" Shane told the others.
"Right with you, Shane," Hunter answered.
The megzords fired their lasers at Condortron, who was affect by the attack and came charging at the zords, attacking them.
Cam informed his father that he's able penetrated the force field to teleported inside.
"Then you know what I'm going say," Sensei's voice replied.
"Don't worry, this time I will be careful," He assured his father and pressed the button. "Activate".
He appeared inside Lothor's ship and found where the ninja students were being held.
"Yes, I found the student," He held his communicator up to his helmet and spokes. "Dad, teleport the others to this coordinate".
"Cam you must return at once," Sensei's voice ordered him. "The rangers are in need of your assistance".
Just when Cam was about to teleport, Lothor appeared and startled him. The Kelzaks immediately surrounded him.
"Nephew, it so nice to have a family drop by. Why don't you stay, forever?"
"Not a chance," Cam refused and the Kelzaks charged at him.
Cam fought back as Lothor watched him while laughing. He managed to defeat most of the Kelzaks but was being outnumbered as more Kelzaks lunged at him and knocked the controller out of his hand.
He fell to the ground and looked over at the thunder student being captured in the bubble that was floating in the ceiling. "So close," He muttered.
"Why don't you surrender nephew and I call the attack off," Lothor suggested.
"NEVER!"
"Fine suit yourself," Lothor looked over at Kelzaks. "Destroy him!"
Kelzaks charged at Cam only to be destroyed by a power blast.
"WHAT!" Lothor stepped forward. "Who dare to interfere?!"
A masked ninja wearing a black cape appeared by Cam side and helped him up, holding her sword in one hand.
"Huh," Cam looked over at masked ninja confused. "Who are you?"
"There's no time for introduction, you must leave the ship now," the masked ninja answered, revealing their voice to be a female. She gave him the controller and ushered him to leave.
"Thank you," He took the controller from her, "But what about you?"
"I'll be fine, just go". She told her him.
Taking one last glance at the masked ninja, Cam pressed the button on the controller and teleported away.
Lothor growled. "Who are you and how dare you interfere?" He was in rage and demanded to know who the masked ninja was.
The masked ninja slammed her sword down and disappeared.
"NO!" Lothor screamed.
Flying away on the Dragon Force vehicle, Cam promises that he would someday return to free the ninja students. Also, he hopes that the masked ninja would make it out safely.
As the fight continues with the Zords and Condortron, the rangers' zords got beaten pretty badly.
"We can beat this bird!" Hunter insisted.
"Concentrate!" Tori told the others.
"Okay!" Dustin nodded.
"Focus!" Blake tried.
"We can do this!" Shane stated
The two megazords grabbed Condortron and were able to throw him to the ground. The Samurai Star Megazord joining the battle, hitting the bird several times.
"Yeah!" Shane and Tori yelled.
"Cam you made it!" Shane grinned.
"Alright!" Dustin beamed.
"Heard you need some help," Cam said as his zord hit Condortron again and then moved over to the others. "It's Hurricane Megazord time!" He called and all the rangers dropped their disk in the slots of the system, activating to combine all the zords together.
"Lock and dropped!" They all shouted.
All zords combined into their most powerful zord and rangers said "Hurricane Megazord!"
They summoned the power and destroy Condortron in a Typhoon Attack.
"Yeah!"
"Alright!"
"Awesome!"
The rangers cheered for their victory.
Motodrone was heading to Lothor to give him a scroll and report something on Vexacus when Vexcaus appeared out of nowhere stopping him.
"Going somewhere?"
"Out of my way!" Motodrone shoved Vexcaus out the way "I must make my report to Lothor".
"Let me help with that," Vexacus snatched the scroll out of Motodrone and read it.
Not wanting Lothor to know what was said on the scroll, Vexacus planned to get rid of it but Motodrone lunged at him to get it back.
"Back off or perish," Vexacus warned.
Refusing to back down, Motodrone charged at Vexacus only to be destroyed in the process.
"You have me scared and worried for you," Dustin way lying down in bed next to Marah who was resting her head on his arm. He was holding her close to him. They were in Marah's room in Ninja Ops.
"I'm sorry," She apologized.
"Don't be," He stared down at her and smiled. "You've been through so much and deserve a break from all this".
Marah smiled. "Well, I have my break when you guys defeat Lothor".
"True," Dustin slightly chuckled and stared up at the ceiling.
"How's Hunter?" Marah asked all sudden in concern. She remembered waking up and sees Hunter apologizing to her about what happened, but she never blame and told him. "Don't worry about it" before watching him leave Ninja Ops with Cam and Kapri going after him.
"He's okay. Kapri and Cam are with him," Dustin told her and sighed. "But I also know that he miss Janessa and want to search for her".
Marah looked up at Dustin. "What about you? Do you miss her?" She asked.
"I do. She's my friend," He replied and looked down at Marah. "Now changing the subject, it time for your punishment,' He smiled,
"My punishment?" She sat up and looked over at Dustin, who sat up as well.
Before Marah can react, Dustin tickled her on the side of her stomach. She shrieked and laughed.
"Dustin stop!" She said in between laughed as she tried to remove his hand.
"Tell me you love me and I'll stop," Dustin laughed and told her.
"Okay, okay," Marah laughed. "I love you!"
Dustin stopped and Marah took a deep breath to calm herself down from laughing too hard. He touched her face and gently stroke it. "I love you too, Marah," He said before he kissed her on the lips.
Marah responded back, pulling Dustin closer and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Hunter sat down at the highest point in Blue Bay Harbor as he looked at the forest. "
"You don't have any more surprises buried out here, do you?" He heard Cam asked and turned to see Cam and Kapri walking over to him.
"No," Hunter shook his head as Cam and Kapri made it over to him and stand by his side. "How are you feeling?" He asked Kapri.
"I'm better and fine," Kapri smiled and answered. "Marah is awake and doing fine. She's at Ninja Ops with Dustin".
"That's good to know," Hunter say, feeling relieve to hear that.
"Hey, thanks for giving me the Gem fragments." Cam touched Hunter's shoulder. "I know it must've been hard for you giving them up.
"They weren't doing me much good out here," He looked over at Cam, "I guess it didn't do you much good either".
Kapri sat down beside Hunter and touched his arms. "Well, that's not true," Hunter turned and looked at her as she continued. "The gem of souls did help get Cam onto Lothor's ship. If haven't been for Condortron attack, Cam might have gotten the ninja students out of there safely".
Hunter smile and touched Kapri's hand that was resting on his arms.
"Kapri is right," Cam agreed. "Beside, I did had help getting out of there before Lothor captured me". He added.
"Help?" Hunter turned and looked Cam slightly confused. "From who?"
"Was it Janessa?" Kapri asked, making Hunter more anxious to know.
"I think it's her," Cam answered and sighs. "But I can't be sure because I didn't see her face. She was dressed in a masked ninja outfit. I'm sorry".
Hunter sighs and looked ahead. He was disappointed that Cam wasn't sure that it was Janessa that saved him. "It okay, just answer me one thing, did she made it out safely".
"I believe that she did," Cam replied.
"Don't worry, you'll see her again," Kapri assured him.
"I know," Hunter stared ahead "Do you think we'll ever get back up there?" He asked.
"The Dragon Force vehicle took quite the beating, but I'll get it running again," Cam answered. "We'll get those ninjas home. I promise," he assured him.
"Yeah," Hunter nodded and got up from the boulder rock with Kapri beside him. "Let's get out here." With his arms around Kapri, He, Kapri, and Cam left the scene unaware the masked ninja was watching them from a far, standing at the tree.
Another masked ninja appeared beside the masked ninja and removed her mask to reveal herself to be Leanne.
"Were you able to get on Lothor's ship?" She asked the masked ninja person, who removed her mask as well to reveal herself to be Janessa.
"I was able to get on to Lothor's ship and even located the ninja students, but…," Janessa answered.
"But what? What happened on the ship?" Leanne asked.
"I ran into Cam there. He was trying to rescue the students but Lothor show up and stop him," Janessa explained. "I have to rescue him from Lothor and the Kelzaks so I wasn't able to free the students. She sighed and felt awful.
"It's okay," Leanne placed a hand on Janessa's shoulder. "We'll try again to save the students". She looked ahead and sees Hunter, Blake, Kapri, and Cam were very far away from them.
"Maybe you should go to see your brothers," She suggested.
"Maybe," Janessa muttered.
Flashback
Janessa appeared at the Thunder Academy at the night, staring at the abandon place. The image of the place being attack by Lothor flashed in mind along with her falling down the cliff. She touched the side of head and winced in pain.
"Janessa?" A voiced called out to her and she turned around to see who it was behind her. Her eyes slightly widen she realized who it was.
"Leanne"
"You remember, don't you?" Leanne slowly approached up to her and asked.
Janessa nodded and before she knew it, Leanne went up to her and hugged her.
"I missed you sister," She heard Leanna said. "Welcome back".
She hugged Leanna back and said. "I missed you too, sis. I can't believe I have forgotten what happen and let Zurgane brainwash me". She let go and took a step back, away from Leanne.
"It's not your fault," Leanna comforted her. What exactly happen to you during that day when Thunder Academy was attack?"
Janessa closed her eyes and recalled back what happened. "I was on my way back to Thunder Academy when I ran into Lothor. We battled and he tried to take my weapon away, but prevented it," She explained and opened her eyes, staring at Leanne. "He injured me and I fell down the cliff to my death. That was the last thing I remember. My mind was wipe by Zurgane who resurrect me back and turn me evil to work for him and Lothor to destroy the ranger. I nearly killed Hunter and Blake who was my childhood friends."
"But you didn't destroyed them," Leanne pointed out. "You managed to break the evil spell and turn good without your memory intact. Don't be so hard on yourself. Plus, I know Hunter and Blake would never blame you for what happen".
"I know, but I need time to think and to find myself again," Janessa told her. "Especially when I recently learned that Hunter is my biological brother that I never knew about it".
"Hunter is your brother?" Leanna was shocked that Blake's assumption was true about Hunter and Janessa being related.
"Wait?" Janessa stared at Leanna in surprised. "You didn't know?"
Leanna shook her head. "No, all I know was that father adopted you when you were a baby since your parents were dead, but I never knew that Hunter is your biological brother until now".
"Do you think father knew about this and didn't say anything?" Janessa asked.
"Probably," Leanna answered, wondering the same thing. "Have you talk to Hunter? How did it take it when he learn the truth?"
Janessa shook her head. "I didn't. I left on my own".
"Janessa, you should talk to him," Leanna suggested.
"I will, but not now," Janessa stared up at the sky. "Right now I need to rescue the students and father and free them from Lothor," She said with determination.
End of Flashback
