Chapter 5: Stepping Up

No one' POV

With Kathy

Kathy is at home watching the food network. She wants to make something different. She's thinking about opening a little bakery shop of her own. She wants to be her own boss that way she can take better care of her daughter, and grandchild.

A knock on the door disturbs Kathy from her free time. Kathy groans getting up to open the door. She opens the door, and her ex-husband is standing there.

"What are you doing here, Chris?" Kathy askes with a scowl on her face.

Chris looks everywhere else, but her eyes. "I came to see, Lauren." Chris said.

Kathy rolls her eyes. "I bet, how's your new wife, and son? You know the one you cheated on me with?" Kathy spits.

Chris sighs. "Kathy, I made a mistake. I'm sorry. I just wanted to come and see Lauren."

"Chris, you're not even allowed to be on my front porch. I put a restraining order on you because you got too violent. So, you need to leave." Kathy said pointing to his car that's in her driveway.

Chris groans. "Kathy, you can't keep me away from my daughter. She's mine too." Chris said angrily.

"See? You're getting angry for something that you caused. You caused this Chris, all I've ever wanted was for Lauren to know her dad. You couldn't be a father too her. So, no you can't see her." Kathy said with tears forming in her eyes.

Chris gets frustrated. "Kathy, just give me chance to make it up to Lauren." Chris begs.

"Make up? You're going to try to make up 8 years? How are you going to do that, Chris?" Kathy frowns at her ex-husband.

"I'm going to try, I know what I did was wrong, but I'm suffering the consequences now, by not seeing Lauren. Kathy, can I have a chance please?" Chris asked with pleading eyes.

Kathy looks at he ex-husband and sees that's he's serious. Kathy still has her doubts about him. All was promise Lauren things, and never owed up tot them. He's been lying all these years, he doesn't even care anymore. She's tired of her daughter having her heart broken. Kathy sighs, and speaks.

"That's up to, Lauren. I'll text her and let her know. Now, go Chris." Kathy said rubbing her forehead in frustration.

"Thank you, Kathy." Chris said before walking away from Kathy's house. He gets into his car and leaves.

"Shit." Kathy said shutting the door. "He's going to break her heart." Kathy said wiping her wet eyes.

With Bo & Lauren

Bo pulls into the driveway, and turns the car off. Bo opens the door for Lauren, and they head up the driveway.

"So, does Trick know I'm coming over?" Lauren asked gripping her straps to her backpack.

Bo sighs. "Yeah, he does. I texted him before we left." Bo said opening the door. "Grandpa, you here?" Bo called out shutting the door.

Trick comes out of the kitchen with his apron on. He smiles with he sees them.

"Hey, I'm cooking dinner. Hopefully you'll like it." Trick said with a smile.

"I know I will. What are you cooking?" Lauren asked Trick.

"Garlic chicken with vegetables." Trick said with a wink.

Lauren giggles. "Something healthy. Bo needs to eat healthy." Lauren said looking at her.

Bo raises a brow. "I do eat healthy." Bo pouts crossing her arms over her chest.

Lauren chuckles. "You eat junk food for lunch. I had to force you to eat baked chicken today." Lauren said.

Bo groans. "So? I still have my abs." Bo raises her shirt up to show off her hot boy.

"Let's up to your room." Lauren laughs grabbing Bo's hand.

"Dinner will be done soon." Trick said walking back into the kitchen to finish up dinner.

"Come on, I'll show you around." Bo said taking Lauren upstairs to show her around.

In Bo's Room

Bo opens the door to her room. "Welcome back to my room." Bo said putting her bag down in a chair.

"Is that Angelina Jolie?" Lauren asked pointing to a poster. "How come I didn't see it when I first came here?" Lauren asked.

"Yes. Look, Angelina is hot. Especially when she played Lara Croft. Her fake accent did something to me." Bo said fanning herself. "Oh, Tricks girlfriend met her, and got an autograph for me." Bo smiles.

Lauren rolls her eyes. "Wow. I like Halle Berry. She's hot." Lauren shrugs sitting by the desk.

Bo nods. "I agree. I'd get up on that chocolate latte." Bo said with smile.

Lauren giggles. "Bo!" Lauren throws a towel at her.

Bo catches it. "So, when is the next appointment?" Bo asked sitting on her bed looking at the blonde.

Lauren thinks. "Uh…I think I have one next Friday." Lauren said.

"Lauren, you know I'm going to be there for you and the baby, I mean if I don't, your mother will kill me. I'm to sexy to be underground." Bo said pointing to her abs.

Lauren chuckles. "I know you are, Bo. As for my mother, I'll tell her to go easy on you." Lauren said walking over to the bed and sits down.

"Thank you. She scares me." Bo said in fear, Lauren's mom is one scary woman.

"Well, you did get me pregnant, and you broke her flower pot." Lauren raises a brow at Bo.

"Okay, I can see why, but then again, I think your mom scares the whole block. I remember that time Tamsin threw a party, and she had it shut down." Bo giggles.

Lauren laughs. "Tamsin was mad as hell, I've never seen her so pissed before." Lauren shakes her head.

"I know, but I'm glad she did. The police would have gotten us for weed and alcohol." Bo said.

"Bo, why did you pick on me? I just want to know, what did I ever do to you?" Lauren asked softly.

Bo looks at Lauren. "Nothing, I had no right to do those things to you, Lauren. I was jealous because you have a mom. I've always been jealous of you, it's not because of money, it's because you have that motherly love, something I've never gotten, my mom and dad used to beat the shit out of me, luckily Trick was here. I'm glad he because I would've killed myself a long time ago." Bo said sadly.

"Bo…" Lauren starts. "I'm so sorry about what your parents did to you. You didn't deserve that." Lauren scoots closer to Bo.

"Even after the way, I've treated you? I deserved all those beatings they gave me." Bo's voice cracks as she looks at the mother of her child.

Lauren sighs. "Bo, you've done some bad things, yes, but that doesn't mean your parents had the right to beat the fuck out you. A parent is supposed to be there for their child." Lauren said.

"That's why I want to be there, Lauren. I don't want our child to go through life thinking that I've abandoned them. I don't want to be my parents. They were nothing but drugs addicts and drunks." Bo said taking Lauren's hand in hers.

Lauren squeezes her hand gently. "I'm sorry, Bo." Lauren gives Bo a kiss on the cheek.

"You're an amazing baby mama, Lauren. If it was any other girl, she would've aborted the baby." Bo said.

"Bo, I wouldn't let our child go, if somebody paid me. Bringing a child into this world is one of the best things. I mean, I'm scared, but I know I'll have help." Lauren said.

"I-I just don't want to be a deadbeat Lauren, I don't want to be like my father. Don't get me wrong I've had my fair share of women, but I haven't been any girls ever since you told me you were pregnant, and I don't want to go back to my old ways." Bo said.

Lauren nods. "I've noticed that. Bo, I don't care if you date other women, just be here for the baby, that's all I ask out of you." Lauren shrugs.

Bo sighs. "I don't want to be with another girl." Bo said to the blonde.

"What are you saying, Bo?" Lauren asked looking at the brunette. Bo sighs to herself knowing she's about to say the hardest thing she's ever said in her life.

"I'm saying, I want you in my life Lauren and only you. Of course, I have Tamsin, but you're carrying my child, and I want you here with me. I want our child to have their parents loving each other, not being with other people." Bo explained with teary eyes.

Lauren breath gets caught up in her throat. "Really? You want us, here?" Lauren asked with happy tears.

"Yes, I'm here for it. I'm all in. I've got a job already, so we don't have anything to worry about. I promise." Bo said.

Lauren smiles. "I know, Bo." Lauren gives Bo a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm glad you're here." Bo laying on her head on Lauren's lap.

Lauren plays with Bo's hair. "I'm am too, we both are." Laure leans down to kiss Bo on the lips.

With Bruce

"Nice job, today." A guy named Gus said to him. Gus is a gay guy who's been on the team for a whole year.

Bruce smiles. "Thanks, Gus. Are you excited for next week?" Bruce asked.

"Fuck, yes. "It's been forever since we've had amazing kickboxing team. When I transferred here last year, Dyson told me that they lost a lot of matches. I'm glad you're here to help us out." Gus said closing his locker.

Bruce nods. "I am too." Bruce said with a small smile. Bruce really likes this guy he hopes that Gus likes him back.

Gus looks up at Bruce, and checks his body out. "So, uh want to go to a movie? I heard Aquaman was good." Gus said.

Bruce smiles. "Sure, that sounds fun." Bruce gushes, he can't believe just asked him out.

"Cool, can't wait. I'm pretty sure you're going to be cute when our date comes." Gus said putting his bag onto his shoulder.

"Yeah, I know you will too." Bruce blushes hard. He's never blushed this hard.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow at 7. See you handsome." Gus winks at him before he leaves for the day.

Bruce bites his lips and smiles. Bruce opens his locker and packs up his stuff from kickboxing practice. Bruce can't believe his first fight is coming up, Bruce is excited to fight next week. Bruce texted Lauren, and she replied that she was spending time with Bo, and Trick for the night.

Bruce has never met anyone like Lauren before, she's nice, she's smart, and she's very pretty. Bruce wants to his best friend is safe. He knows about Bo's reputation, and he wants to protect Lauren.

"I got a date." Bruce said to himself as looking for his keys so he can leave. Bruce walks out of the locker room. Bruce can't hide the smile that's on his face.

Bruce grabs his keys, and heads to car. Bruce unlock his car, and gets into the driver's seat. He starts his car up, and pulls out of the schools parking lot. As Bruce is driving, he comes up to a stop sign. As soon as he goes a car runs right into the driver's side making the car flip over three times.

Bruce's car is upside down. Bruce is fading out, but he could've sworn he heard somebody scream, and calling 911 before everything goes black.

End of this chapter. Oh no Bruce. What do you guy think about Gus? What do you think about Lauren's father? Aww, Bo shares a bit with Lauren. Their relationship will get stronger. I will update another story today. I'm still working on some of my stories, I'm almost done with 4 of them. They will be updated this week. Till next time.
