Jason9000: Well the time has come everyone. The Z-warriors are off to the Otherworld. We've almost brought everything up to speed. We'll go into detail a little bit in the next one about the villains and it'll finally be lined up. I know it's been a little confusing, but it had to be done. Oh in case you thought you missed something there was a chapter published before this one about Baba. Well let's get crack on shall we?*
Android Sixteen opened his eyes. He had been shut off for the past two days. Ever since they had collected Android 17 they went to Bulma's lab and she got to work on them with her father helping as much as he could. It took them a while to understand what Bulma's future counterpart was saying. Even with the Androids help before they went to sleep, it was still tough to translate. One part referenced him as a 'Super Android'. It confused Bulma to no end since she couldn't understand how Android Sixteen could transform. He could be upgraded sure, but not transform in an instant like the Saiyans could. Even with understanding the plans, it was still drastic. His body they could replace no problem, but the parts in his head? That was a danger since it may destroy what made him Android Sixteen. His memory, his data, everything could be wiped away and then they would have to restart reprogramming him and neither of the Brief scientists know how to do that. Sixteen was adamant and told them to go through with it anyway if it meant the preservation of the Earth.
The Android slowly sat up and looked around. His eyes began adjusting to the colors and shapes in the room and he could feel his mechanical brain 'waking up' so to speak.
"Sixteen can you understand me? Are you feeling okay?" A familiar voice asked him.
The quiet giant turned to his left and saw Bulma sitting there with Android Eighteen next to him and Seventeen in the corner.
"Yes I can Bulma; I'm guessing it was a success?" He asked her.
Bulma smiled and nodded her head. "Yup, it seems that everything went according to these prints. Looks like no matter what timeline I'm in, I am still a genius!" She said smirking.
"Yeah, yeah you're a genius doc, can we go now? I'm tired of sitting here in this lab, no offense but I have a strong distaste for laboratories," Seventeen said with a sarcastic tone.
"Okay fine, sure, don't test out your new abilities and make sure they're working. Can't wait to see you blow yourself up when you use them wrong for the first time," Bulma said rolling her eyes.
"And that's where all the fun is. I prefer to work in the heat of the moment," Seventeen said walking upstairs.
Sixteen pushed the sheets off of him and examined himself. He was still in the black jump suit and his green vest and arm bands were off to the side. He physically didn't look any different, but with all of the new information entering his brain he could tell he wasn't the same Android two days ago.
The tall Android stood up and went over to his green vest. He slowly put it on and noticed that it felt weighted.
"Strange, I don't remember this being so weighted. Have you changed this in some way?" He asked Bulma.
Bulma blinked in confusion and looked at Sixteen as if he had three heads spring out from his neck.
"No it's still the same vest. Are you sure everything is working okay Sixteen?" She asked with some concern.
Sixteen's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at his vest. Slowly the weight disappeared and he felt it return to normal.
"I can only think of two reasons here. One is that it is taking my systems a bit to warm up and come back online…or I am just not capable of handling these upgrades. For my sake I hope it is the former," Sixteen said in a monotone to himself while putting his vest one.
Bulma watched him with a hard glare in her eyes. She couldn't tell if he was lying about being alright or not. Knowing Sixteen he wouldn't say anything even if he was going to fall apart in the next five seconds. She went over to the computer that was on and began typing.
"Did you and Seventeen receive any upgrades of your own?" Sixteen asked the other Android behind him.
She smiled coyly. "Not really, no. Since Seventeen and I are mostly human there wasn't too much Bulma could do. There was an option of turning us into complete Androids like you, but we don't have the time and to be honest we don't want to…lose ourselves…" She finished muttering the last words in hopes Android Sixteen wouldn't hear them.
Sixteen paused and looked confused at her statement. "You seem to be implying that being human is weak. I would give up everything I have if I could be a normal human. In my point of view, you and Android 17 are the lucky ones," He said.
Eighteen looked startled for a minute since she didn't think he heard him, but then cocked her head to the side in confusion.
"What are you talking about Sixteen? Look at you. You have what most humans want. You're stronger, faster, and smarter, than most on this planet and you have the one thing humans crave; immortality in the sense that you can't die from old age or sickness." She said.
Sixteen sighed and shook his head. "You are correct, I have what most humans crave, but I would still give up everything to be human. You may not always have been an Android and since you have a daughter, you are still mostly human than machine. You two are the lucky ones, not I. I can only replicate emotions. I cannot truly understand them nor can I really think for myself. Despite all of the advancements Bulma has given me, I am still bound by my programming. Sure I can choose to ignore it, but I still am bound by it forever. If anything I can only dream of being half the Android you and Seventeen are," Sixteen said before walking up the stairs.
Eighteen could watch Sixteen's retreating figure in confusion and a little awe.
No one had stirred much since Baba left. Roshi was playing a card game with Krillin and Gohan. Goku was napping next to his meditating son Goten, the Supreme Kais were still with Dende planning on what to do, and Chi-Chi, Mr. Popo, and Mrs. Brief had just finished making the last of the food for when Vegeta's group got out. The three of them were silently eating what they had made for themselves and the two women were thinking of going to sleep.
Time slowly passed and the suddenly a flying jet was heard approaching the tower. Bulma's jet circled above the Lookout till she found a place to land. She walked out flanked by the three Androids.
"Finally hired some bodyguards for yourself eh Bulma?" Goten quipped as he snapped out of his meditative state.
"Oh yes, because out of everyone here she needs a bodyguard. I mean it's not like her psychotic husband isn't one," Android Seventeen said turning toward him.
Suddenly a girl came running out form inside the Lookout. "Uncle Seventeen!" She cried running toward him.
Seventeen's head turned toward his niece and he felt a weight crash against his leg.
"Squirt aren't you getting a little old to be latching onto my leg whenever you see me?" Seventeen asked with amusement in his voice and his eyebrow raising.
Marron only looked up and smiled. "I wouldn't act this way if you actually came by more often. I only see you like twice a year," She remarked.
"Well considering I usually give you a bunch of sweets that has you bouncing off the walls when I leave, it's no surprise your mother doesn't want me around. Speaking of which…" He trailed off grinning to his niece.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out three giant bags of candy. "One for you, Bra, and Pan. Compliments of your uncle Seventeen," He told her.
He turned to his sister and Bulma who both gave him a death glare.
"What I'm just giving them a little gift. I sure they need something to not worry them with this massive crisis going on," He told them.
"I swear if they get a sugar rush…if these Demons don't kill you, I will," Eighteen threatened her brother.
He walked away toward the three young girls eating their candy and waving his hand at his twin. "Yeah, yeah I'll be sure to write my will within the next five minutes or so," Android Seventeen said.
Sixteen blinked and then chuckled to himself. "Never would I have thought Android Seventeen would play the spoiling uncle. It suits him well," Sixteen said.
"Yeah, yeah well he's not the one that has to deal with the kids once the sugar kicks in," Bulma grumbled to herself walking away.
"I'm guessing everything went okay?" Gohan asked Bulma.
"As well as it could go. I was only able to understand half of what my future self was saying. Which is odd considering we're just about the same age now," She said.
Gohan folded his cards on the ground quitting the game and approached her. "Well to be fair, you both do live in different timelines with different circumstances. Perhaps her motivation to save her timeline pushed her farther than what you've done yourself," He told her.
Bulma shrugged. "I guess you're right. So how much time do the others have in there?" She asked them.
"No time at all," Vegeta's voice said behind everyone.
Everyone turned around and saw the Saiyan Prince walking toward him. His blue jumpsuit was a bid ripped and his gloves were gone. He was flanked by his sons and Majin Buu. Both of his sons looked more like twins than ever. Their hair was at shoulder length and their outfits were ripped up. Buu looked fine as he was just smiling as always.
Everyone noticed that none of them were in any form of Super Saiyan which caused Goku to be confused.
"Vegeta did you not train at level two at all? I thought you said you would train at that level and try for three?" Goku asked him.
"I did Kakarot, but I figured that if we were to leave now we would stick out like a sore thumb. We need to keep out power down so we can sneak into this Demon Realm," He said.
Goku blinked and then began laughing. He signaled to Goten and both of them powered down to their base form.
"Anything you need to fill us in on?" One of Vegeta's sons asked.
Everyone looked at them confused. "Uh…which one are you?" Gohan asked him slowly.
"I've got this one, hang on guys," Goten said standing in between both of the young Brief men.
For a full minute he stared at each of them in the eye. Finally he raised the hand of the Trunks on his left.
"This one is ours and the other one is future boy," Goten said.
The one with the hand raised made a buzzing noise. "Wrong Trunks genius. I'm the one from the future. And you call him your best friend?" He said turning to his twin.
"I know right? I could have sworn that us being together all of our lives would mean something, oh well?" The other quipped.
They both walked over to their mother and no one said anything for a minute. Goten stood their opening and closing his mouth trying to formulate a response to what just happened and it only resulted in him looking like a fool. Vegeta looked over at Bulma and shook his head.
"We've created two monsters," He said before walking toward his wife.
While Bulma passed out capsules containing clothes for her family Goku filled them all in on what had happened in the past 24 hours. He told them of what happened with Baba and how Elder Kai may have a plan on how to stop Daimaō. Vegeta's face contorted with anger. No matter what they did, or what they thought of this Demon King was still a step ahead of them. It was infuriating that this Namek held all of the cards. Cell was bad enough, but this guy? They couldn't even sneeze without this Demon King knowing of it before hand.
"This is getting on my nerves. How is it that this Demon King knows of everything we're going to possibly think of? Is there a traitor in our midst that we don't know of?" Vegeta asked looking around.
No one said anything and he was only met with stares. Vegeta doubted anyone of them did betray them all, but he couldn't rule the possibility out.
"I don't think anybody betrayed us Vegeta. From my memories Daimaō always did try to plan ahead. He did try to take out every martial artist in the world so they wouldn't learn the Evil Containment Wave to stop him. He's a tactical genius and with Dr. Gero and Cell on his side…I can only imagine what they're planning next," Goku told him.
"So can Baba find us a way into Otherworld or not? I'd rather not have us kill ourselves just to get there. I've already done that and trust me it's a very painful ordeal," Vegeta said.
Goku laughed a bit. "I don't think it's that bad Vegeta. Daimaō would rather beat us while we're at our best to prove his superiority. He normally doesn't cheat unless he knows he can't win. So we'll just have to watch our backs," Goku responded.
"May I have everyone's attention for a moment please? We need to test this blade before Baba finishes with her final mental probing of Otherworld," Elder Kai's voice spoke up behind them.
They all turned and both Kais were standing at the doorway. Kibito Kai was holding the Z-sword with great care and his ancestor stood at his side. He looked a little tired, but none too worse for the wear. They both walked in the middle of everyone and stopped.
"We've done all we can with the blade. I won't bore you all with the tedious details about what we did specifically so I'll give you the short version. Since I was trapped in there for so long some of my essence transferred into the blade itself, more specifically the handle. Usually only a Kai can do this sort of exorcism, but with a bit of my own soul in there anyone with a pure heart of good can use this. The original spell was designed for Kai use only; however, I was able to tweak it to allow any pure good person to wield it," Elder Kai said.
"So what do we have to do? Have dad stab Daimaō with it and call it a day?" Goten asked.
Elder Kai shook his head. "I'm afraid it's not that easy my boy. I need to perform a test first. Goku come here and hold the blade for me. Everyone else stand away at a great distance. Dende be ready to jump in when I tell you," Elder Kai told them.
Goku did what he said and took the blade. Everyone felt a little nervous about the Kai's instructions, but listened to them anyway.
Goku took the sword from Kibito Kai and held it up in the air. The Kais retreated to stand next to the others and Goku gave it a few swings. Mirai visibly twitched as he saw Goku swing it the wrong way and was almost going to tell him he'd cut a limb off if he wasn't careful.
"Now to activate the spell you're going to have to say the word. The only human language translation I could get to work was the Latin form of the word. I tried doing it in Universal English, but nothing happened. Are you ready Goku?" Old Kai asked.
Goku nodded and smiled holding the sword straight out in front of him. He kept his gripped firm. "Okay I'm ready when you are!" He exclaimed.
"Okay now I just want you to say this word only. The word is purgo," Elder Kai told him.
Goku took a deep breath and stared at the sword. "Purgo!" He shouted out loud and clear.
For a nanosecond it looked like nothing happened. Suddenly the sword started to glow and looked like it was on fire. It started to glow a bright golden light and everyone had to squint their eyes; except for three people. The metal looked like it was reflecting a giant fire that was mere inches away from it. The blackened steel looked strange as yellow flames flickered from within. Goku smiled for a second, but then to his great surprise his hand started to burn. He immediately let go of the sword and dropped it. The sword ceased its flaming image and looked normal.
Before it hit the ground; however, Mirai was on the scene and caught it before it even touched the ground. Gohan and Vegeta could barely follow his movements. Everyone unfortunately blinked so they didn't see him moving and were impressed on his speed and reaction time.
Mirai handled the sword with extreme care. He looked at Goku for a moment before sighing to himself. Mirai had great respect toward swords. Even at their strength, these weapons could cut them if they weren't careful. He was always careful when using it back in the time chamber with the others. He didn't want to hurt them too much.
Dende was immediately next to Goku and began healing him. Goku was blowing on his hands. He looked at his hands and noticed they didn't look burned like if they were on fire, but they sure felt it. For five minutes Dende kept healing and slowly the pain went away. When Dende was finished the pain was gone, but slowly a small burn scar in the shape of the sword's handle appeared on both of his hands.
"I don't understand what did I do wrong?" Goku asked looking at his hands.
Elder Kai studied Goku's hand before sighing. "Then it is as I feared. None of you Saiyans will be able to use this since you're not pure of heart. At least for Goku not anymore in this sense," He told them.
"What are you talking about? If anyone has a pure heart it's got to be Kakarot or one of his two sons! Why don't you explain how he's pure of heart to create the Spirit Bomb, but unable to use this spell?" Vegeta asked.
"It's because of your Super Saiyan forms," Elder Kai said simply as if it were obvious.
Everyone blinked for a minute processing what he said. What did the Super Saiyan states have to do with this?
"Goku when you first became a Super Saiyan. What was your thought process? More specifically what emotions were you feeling when you first accessed it?" Elder Kai asked.
Goku thought to himself for a minute till he answered. "I was mostly feeling pain, sadness, anger, and a lot of hatred all at once at Frieza for killing Krillin." He answered.
Elder Kai nodded. "I trust this is how the rest of you achieved it? Or something similar to what Goku described?" He asked around him.
"Most of us achieved it that way. Vegeta achieved it through frustration and anger that dad did it before him. However, I've still yet to figure out how Goten and Trunks did it," Gohan said looking at them for an answer.
Both of them immediately shrugged their shoulders. "Beats me. We've been able to do it since we were like six or seven. I can't remember how I did it specifically. I remember sparing once with mom and it just happened," Goten said.
Trunks nodded. "Same with me, I shocked the crap out of dad when I first showed him," He told Elder Kai.
"What we would have given for you two, to show up when we were fighting Frieza…" Vegeta mumbled to himself in annoyance.
"It's as I thought then. You have to access negative emotions to achieve the state. While the need for it was justified for some of you, it still tainted your souls. If I gave you this sword and spell before your encounter with Frieza on Namek then you'd be able to use this with no problem Goku," Elder Kai told him.
"How come he can use the Spirit Bomb then if he's always tainted as you say?" Mirai asked him.
"Because, the Spirit Bomb and this exorcism spell are on two planes of techniques. Goku's never tried to form a Spirit Bomb in his Super Saiyan state to my knowledge. If he did I'd guess that it wouldn't work or, he'd just absorb whatever power he'd gather. I'd rather not experiment with that notion now. Anyway, almost anyone that is mostly good can use the Spirit Bomb. Krillin was able to launch it against Vegeta as you once told me. Even those that are evil can force it back. It just takes a pure heart to gather the energy. Anyone can then launch it once it's deemed complete. Look at Kid Buu. He was able to deflect it and almost used it on Goku. As for the spell, it's from a higher form of magic. It's a very old and powerful spell from way before my time. It was nearly forgotten when I was taught it. Also that witch I fused with expanded my knowledge of magic. Like I keep saying, it was designed for a Kai or at the very least someone with a pure heart that hasn't been tainted. Even by a transformation by the looks of it," Elder told them.
"So what does this mean? Are you going to come with us?" Gohan asked him.
"No I will come with you instead. I already know how it works and since I am a Kai, I can use it just fine." Kibito Kai said.
"Not a moment too soon then, for I believe I just found a way in," Baba's voice rang out from inside the Lookout.
Everyone turned and she was floating on her crystal ball again. She was smiling and everyone could tell that she was ready to help.
"I believe I just found a way to take you to Otherworld. We'll be making two teleportations though. One close to Grand Kai's planet and another down in Hell where Daimaō is waiting for you all. I was able to find two weak walls that you should be able to go through," She said.
"Finally some good news, let's get going now!" Vegeta said.
He walked next to Baba and waited for everyone to say their goodbyes.
"Daddy can't I come with you? I want to fight these demons and rescue Piccolo!" She exclaimed.
"Sorry sweetheart, but I don't think your mom would be too keen on the idea of me letting you come with us. You're going to have to stay here. Okay?" Gohan asked his daughter.
Pan pouted and ran off to stand next to Bra who was saying goodbye to her brothers.
"Be good now and I want to see you home in one piece, got it?" Bulma told them.
"We promise, besides I told Bra I'd take her to the amusement park when this was over," Mirai said winking at his sister.
Bra beamed and started jumping up and down in excitement. Vegeta only nodded at his wife and daughter from the distance. His eyes promising them he would return.
"Be home in time for dinner okay?" Chi-Chi asked her family.
"Don't worry, this time I'll drag dad back kicking and screaming if I have to," Goten said hugging her.
Uub was hanging back not wishing to disturb anyone. He had already told his family and people what was going on. It was painful saying goodbye to his family, but he had to do this in order to protect everyone.
Buu was hugging Mr. Satan. He released his hug and looked him straight in the eye. "Mr. Satan has always been Buu's best friend. Ever since he avenged Bee from that mean man," Buu said.
"Of course, we're friends for life Buu! You're my closest friend ever. But, you already know that and why are you telling me this?" He asked Buu blinking in confusion.
Buu simply turned around and looked at Uub with a strange smile. "Buu don't know if he'll return the way you know him. Buu may return…as a new friend," Buu said walking off.
Mr. Satan only blinked in confusion at his friend's statement and feared for his friend. He prayed that nothing would happen to the second best thing that happened to him besides his daughter Videl.
"Okay can we go now? I want to go sock Frieza in the face thank you!" Vegeta shouted over the others.
Slowly one by one everyone stood next to the Kais. Mirai decided to hold the sword for the time being and waited for the word to give it to Kibito Kai. He walked next to his father and brother.
"Now I don't know if this is going to hurt or not so brace yourselves," Baba told them.
They all nodded with sheer determination and were ready to take the fight to their enemies.
Baba started shouting in a weird language and a bright light formed around the group. They started glowing and sparks of electricity formed around them. Some of them clenched their teeth since it felt like it burned a little bit. The light around them shined brighter and brighter till no one could look at them. Finally they were gone off into Otherworld.
Everyone turned back to what they were doing. Mr. Satan decided to do a quick head count. He noticed one person was missing and recounted. His heart fell to his stomach and he looked worried. Slowly he asked hesitantly looking at Videl especially.
"Hey guys…where's Pan?"
Babidi and his father's eyes snapped open and he smiled. "They're on their way just as we said," Babidi told the giant chair in front of him.
"Good, good. Let them in," Daimaō's voice said behind him.
Kibito Kai and Old Kai found himself standing inside Grand Kai's arena.
"Wow looks like Baba got lucky. Okay guys prepare to be teleported again," He said.
No one responded and they both turned and found themselves alone. They both started to visibly sweat as they noticed none of them had the sword.
"I think we're in trouble sir…" Kibito Kai said slowly.
Suddenly they heard an explosion from far away.
"Actually I think we just entered the war." Old Kai said solemnly.
"I think it worked guys. Is everyone okay?" Goku asked.
"Yeah I think we are dad. I can sense almost everyone. Man is it dark in here though," Gohan said.
"Where are we?" Vegeta asked through the darkness.
"Welcome Son Goku and friends, we've been expecting you." A familiar voice called out.
Suddenly the room lit up with torches. It blinded them for a moment till their eyes adjusted to the light. When they were able to see. They were surrounded.
Hundreds of Demons were in the room all grinning at them maliciously. They were all clapping, mock bowing, jeering, and laughing at the group.
"We met again my friends, welcome to my world," Daimaō's voice rang again from behind them.
They turned and saw Daimaō sitting on a massive throne with the Colds, Androids, and wizards standing next to him.
"Let the games begin," Daimaō said.
Jason9000: And there we go. We're all caught up with everything. Hope you enjoyed. This was one my favorite chapters to write. Now I don't know if you missed it because of a glitch in the system or didn't see it altogether, but there is a chapter before this. I only got two reviews for it and it left me down. So please review and let me know what you think of them. Anyway hope you enjoyed, because now we're shifting toward the sieges.*
