I don't own anything but Chelsea and her mother.

Chapter One: Arrival

"Chelsea, I know you're out there! Come out and you won't get hurt."

I circled twice before I hid around an alley wall, trying to keep my breathing as quiet as humanly possible.

"Come on, Chelsea. I just want to talk." I heard a slam after the raspy voice was done talking. I could barely contain my jump as another hit was made into the wall closest to the alley way that I was hiding in. "You thought you could hide from me..."

I saw the board shoulders move past the entrance to the alley way that I was in. I held my breath as I watched him move forward until he was out of sight. I let go of my breath before taking off further into the darkness. I kept rounding corners and taking sharp turns until I came into a clearing.

I felt the scream rise into my throat as a hand landed down on my shoulder-

"We are now stopping at Phoenix, Arizona. Please put on your seat belts." The 20-something year old woman said as she looked down at me with her hand on my shoulder. I barely contained my scream as I nodded my head at the women. She smiled at me gently before moving along down the lane.

I ran my hand down my face as I slipped on my seat belt before I was told again. No matter how far away from him I got, he would never escape my nightmares. I was just hoping this big move was going to help me forget all about him.

"Don't worry, sweetie, we're half way there." I looked over to my mom and smiled gently back at her. My mom, Elizabeth Taylor Lockhart, was my savior. I don't know what I would do without her.

"Thanks, mom." I said quietly back before looking forward in my seat.

I saw a girl about my age stumble down the aisle and I tried to hide my smile when she tripped on peoples bags. She stopped in front of my chair and looked up at me from staring down at her feet.

"Excuse me." She whispered shyly. "My seat's right next to yours." She nodded her head to the window seat that was vacant.

I nodded my head at her before picking up my feet, allowing her to pass by my seat easily. "Go right ahead." I waved my hand and smiled at her. I weighed my options about starting a conversation with her or not. I didn't want her to feel umcomfortable for the whole rest of her- or my- ride.

Finally, I shrugged before turning to face the newcomer with a small smile, "Hi, I'm Chelsea Lockhart. What's your name?"

"Bella Swan." She said holding out her small hand. I shook it still smiling. Now that she's facing me, I get a good look of her. She was insanely pretty with brown doe eyes and long redish brown hair that fell down in ringets to her chest. She was pale, but it wasn't sickly, it was a pretty tone that made her eyes and hair stand out.

"Where are you heading to?" I asked. If we were going to sit next to each other on this plane, we might as well know where each other was heading.

"Forks, Washington. What about you?" She asked, looking over at me with tired eyes.

"I'm heading down to Forks myself. Well, me and my mom are." I pointed to the next line of plane seats to the golden haired beauty seating reading her book that she can never seem to put down. "I'm just moving from Massachusetts."

"I'm moving in with my dad. I used to live with my mom and her new husband, but I wanted to give them time to themselves, so I decided to spend the rest of my school year with my dad." Bella explained lightly.

"My mom and dad just got a divorce, so my mom decided that it was time for new scenery." I confessed.

"Why so far away if you are from Massachusetts?" Bella asked genuinely.

"My mom grew up in Forks, she moved when she married my father, but now that they are divorced, she wanted to move back to her hometown." I explained- not mentioning the fact that it was the farthest state that we could get away from him.

Bella nodded her head at my answer before changing the subject, "Are you in school?"

I nodded my head, "Yeah, I'm in my senior year right now."

Bella looked over at me with a hopeless look, "That's too bad. I thought I'd at least know someone in my grade; I'm a junior right now."

"That's okay, we'll still see each other in school. We can always sit with each other at lunch." I pointed out, trying to make light of the conversation again.

She nodded her head at me, "That's true. At least I'll have someone to sit with." She gave me a laugh, and I joined in.

"I'm gonna get some shut eye before we land, hopefully this jetlag won't kill me when we get off." I joked lightly. Bella gave me a small smile before nodding her head and turning to look out the window.

I shut my eyes and sighed as I felt my body relax. I just hope this will all work out.
