|Chapter 3: The Gates Open

U.A Entrance, Day of the Entrance Exam

Izuku and Akira stood proudly at the gates of Yuuei. Today was the day they would partake in – and pass – the entrance exam. Both teens had spent almost every day of the past two months training their bodies and quirks as well as studying with each other.

Izuku had managed to increase his output of One For All to 45%; he had also fully integrated Float into his Air Force fighting style and had gotten the hang of flying. Akira had made a pressure point fighting style that he could use with his quirk by sending large amounts of energy into his fingers and jabbing his opponents.

"Move it, nerds." A familiar and annoying voice called out to them.

"Walk around us, Bakugou." Akira said, giving the blonde a side-eye.

Said blonde grew an annoyed expression. "What did you say?"

"He said, 'walk around us,' Bakugou." Izuku said, not even sparing the blonde a glance. "Seriously, we're not even in your way."

Bakugou was foaming at the mouth but walked around them. "Just get through this exam, you won't have to deal with them again." He mumbled to himself.

Izuku and Akira both hoped the blonde's statement would ring true and they didn't have to get stuck in the same class as him. If they did, that'd be an eleven year streak of fate sticking the three together.

"Let's get going, we can stare after we get in." Akira said, earning a smile from his green-haired friend.

"Alright, don't get cocky though." Izuku warned.

Akira smirked. "I'm not the blonde pomeranian."

They both chuckled and made their way to the hall for their written test.

2 ½ Hours Later, Auditorium

Izuku and Akira were currently sitting at the back of the Auditorium as other people were coming in after finishing the written test. They were fairly confident that they did a good job; study was important to them and they were – as Bakugou accurately put it – nerds.

The lights suddenly turned off before a single spotlight was directed to the stage. "WELCOME EVERYONE TO MY LIVE SHOW!" A loud voice called out. Looking to the stage, Izuku and Akira saw the Voice Hero: Present Mic on the stage. "CAN I GET A YEAH?!"

"YEAH!" Izuku and Akira both exclaimed, earning a few chuckles from other examinees.

Present Mic smiled at the two teens. "Love the enthusiasm you two!" He said. "I'll be explaining the rules for the practical exam. Are you all ready for it!?"

"YEAH!" Izuku and Akira both exclaimed again. Present Mic beamed; they were his new favourites.

"I'll be rooting for you two." Present Mic said. "Now, onto the instructions. For the practical you'll all be separated among four mock cities. In these cities there will be robots running around everywhere" A screen with four robots popped up behind him.

'Video game much?' A few students asked, chuckling at the presentation.

"Each robot will contain a value of one, two, or three points." Present Mic continued. "You have to destroy as many as possible within the time limit given." He said before adding. "And try to keep things heroic, no hurting other examinees or else that'll be an instant disqualification!" His addition at the end made Bakugou sulk.

Before the voice hero could continue, a loud voice interrupted him. "Excuse me, Present Mic, sir!" Looking to the source of the noise, they saw a tall boy with blue hair and glasses.

"What's wrong, examinee No. 7111?" Present Mic asked.

"In this pamphlet it says that there are four robots but you've only given us an explanation for three." He chopped the air as he spoke. "Is this a misprint? If so then this is unacceptable! We are exemplary students and expect the best from a prestigious school such as Yuuei; a mistake such as this won't do."

A few of the students began to chuckle at his attitude, Izuku and Akira were included.

This was not missed by the blue-haired teen as he turned around to the pair and stared them down. "And you two, is this exam a joke to you?" He asked. "You've both been nothing but interruptions yelling like children. If you're here to play around, then I suggest you bo-."

Akira raised his hand. "Pause." He said cutting off what was bound to be an unnecessary triad. "I don't know who you think you are but you're an extreme hypocrite."

The glasses boy had his mouth hung open in shock. "Excuse m-"

"Pause." Izuku said, cutting the other teen off again. "We were only yelling when Present Mic wanted us to." He explained.

"You on the other hand interrupted Present Mic before he was able to finish his explanation." Akira added.

"So if anyone's an interruption here, it's you." Izuku finished.

The other boy didn't retort and just sat down, slightly embarrassed at being told off. Around the hall, the sounds of quiet laughing could be heard as the others failed to hold in a tiny bit of laughter. Even Bakugou managed a small smirk.

'I'm so going to tell Tensei about this.' Present Mic thought to himself. "Alright, thank you two for dealing with that. Now as I was saying before, the fourth robot is worth zero points. It's basically just an obstacle. If you encounter it try to avoid it; it's not unbeatable, there's just really no point." He explained. "That's basically all from me. I'll sign off with a little present though, our school motto. The hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said: 'A true hero is someone who overcomes life's misfortunes.' So little listeners. Go Beyond:"

Upon hearing the school motto, everyone stood up and shouted. "PLUS ULTRA."

Ground Beta

Izuku and Akira had unfortunately been separated from each other. They guessed it was so that people from the same schools would help each other. Not that it mattered, they were going to smoke this show.

Izuku was wearing charcoal grey trackpants and a baggy, dark forest green hoodie. The baggy clothes hid his godly physique; as a result, many of the examinees wrote him off as nothing much. He also had on red earmuffs and a yellow visor; the earmuffs were so his ears didn't get damaged when going too fast and the visor was for debris and dust.

The gates open and Izuku instantly rushed in, no one else seemed to notice though. He had about 15% of One For All activated and was floating just above the ground. A single one-pointer appeared in front of him and began to shoot at him. Izuku was going to dodge but just let the projectiles bounce off of him after getting hit; they were only rubber bullets after all.

He grabbed on to the robot's arms and ripped them off before using them to crush the one-pointer's head. 'That's one point.' A loud voice cut him from his thoughts as Present Mic revealed to the examinees that the gates had opened and the test had already started. 'Well, time to get going.'

Izuku flew around the mock city at intense speeds, using himself as a bullet to smash through the robot's head. He was able to keep a count and after he landed, he counted his total at 24 points. His head suddenly told him to look left, almost like he was sensing something. Upon looking to the left, he saw three examinees about to get crushed by two three-pointers.

He quickly looked around for something he could use as a projectile and settled for the two-pointer that was crawling towards him. Grabbing one of the robot's tail, Izuku hurled it in the direction of the endangered examinees. The two-pointer hit its mark directly and completely demolished both of the three-pointers.

Izuku had a surprised look on his face. 'Wow, that was a really good throw.'

His thoughts were cut short as his head suddenly told him to leap backwards. Following the sudden feeling, Izuku barely missed getting crushed by two two-pointers that had shot at him from the buildings. He reeled back his leg before doing a spinning hook kick, sending an arc of wind that crushed the two-pointer's chests.

Izuku nodded at his work with a smile and continued to go help out any examinees that were in danger. He saw a purple haired teen almost get crushed by a three-pointer and darted towards him. The greenette just barely managed to get to the boy and scooped him away from the robot.

"Are you okay?" Izuku asked after putting him down.

The purple haired boy seemed a bit woozy. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for the save."

Izuku nodded before swiping his hand forward, sending forth a torrent of wind that deflected three missiles that were aimed at them. The greenette flew to the three-pointer and brought it to the ground in front of the purple haired teen; he flew off again and returned with a pole in his hand.

"Just stick this through one of its eyes and you'll de-activate it." Izuku said, handing the pole to the teen. His head went off again and he began to run. "Good luck with the rest of the exam." He said to the other teen while going to wherever his head was taking him.

The purple haired boy stood there frozen for all of three seconds before he shoved the pole into the three-pointers eye, disabling it. 'Thanks, Greeny.'

Observation Room

In the observation tower, placed in the middle of all the training grounds, the faculty watched the examinees with great interest.

"The examinees have no idea how many villains there are or their locations. They have a limited time to cover a vast area." The screens showed a select few examinees. "The basic skills of information gathering, mobility, keeping calm, and pure combat ability have been turned into points for this test." Principal Nezu explained.

"This year's crop looks promising, no?" A woman in a less than appropriate outfit asked.

"Well, we can't be certain yet." A man with a block head said.

All Might stood up and pressed a red button. "Their true test is just beginning."

Principal Nezu had a large smile on his face that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who looked at him.

Back at Ground Beta

Izuku's head started screaming at him, something big was coming. Suddenly the ground started to tremble; he flew up past the buildings, looking for the source of the tremble, and saw it. There was only one way to describe it.

"So the zero-pointer is a mecha kaiju." Izuku said to himself. 'Where in the world are they getting the money for all this?'

His thoughts were cut off as his head screamed at him again. Focusing closely on the area around the 0-pointer, Izuku saw large amounts of debris falling towards fleeing examinees.

He darted down towards the debris without a second thought. Using his Air Force style, he turned the debris to mere rubble before they could do any damage. He used some of the debris as projectiles and launched it back to the zero-pointer.

Seeing that everyone had gotten away, Izuku went to fly off, only for his head to scream again. 'What now?' He turned around and he froze. Trapped underneath a pile of rubble was a pink girl; and the zero-pointer's foot was about to flatten her like a pancake.

Izuku activated 40% of One For All and darted towards the pink girl. He caught the foot just before it landed on her and was able to kept it up. "Are you okay?" Izuku asked turning to the trapped examinee.

The pink girl opened her eyes and saw Izuku holding up the foot of the robot. She was frozen for a moment before she answered. "N-no, I think I broke my ankle."

"Is there any way you can get rid of the debris?" Izuku asked.

The girl shook her head. "Not without burning my ankle."

Izuku sighed. "Alright then, no other option." He said to himself.

The red veins of his quirk intensified and he took a breath before steeling himself. Pushing upwards, the greenette threw the zero-pointer's foot off him, making the robot stumble back.

Izuku shot up towards the head of the robot and reeled back his right leg. Keeping 40% of One For All active, he shot forward and sent a powerful front kick to the centre of the zero-pointers head, making a large crater on the robot's face and making it stagger back. The greenette reeled back his right leg again and shot forward, deepening the crater. Going for a final run, Izuku flew in the opposite direction before turning around and shooting at the zero-pointer while concentrating his power into his right arm. The punch he delivered sent the zero-pointer crashing to the ground, explosions going off around its entire body.

Back on the ground, the pink girl could only watch in awe at the display of power. The same could be said for the other examinees and the faculty in the observation room. While they stared, All Might hid a small grin and chuckled.

Izuku lowered himself back to the pink girl and wordlessly picked up all the rubble surrounding her. "TIME IS UP!" Present Mic's voice called as Izuku finished freeing the pink girl.

"Can you walk?" Izuku asked.

The pink girl snapped out of her stupor and tried to get up, only to fall back to the ground. "N-no, something broke." She said. 'Ow!'

Izuku had a worried look on his face and looked for anyone that could help, his eyes landed on Recovery Girl and he waved her over.

"Oh my, what happened to her?" Recovery Girl asked, hurrying to the downed girl.

"Ankle got crushed by debris from the zero-pointer." Izuku explained.

Recovery sighed. "These exams get more dangerous every year." She grumbled before kissing the girl's ankle, surrounding it in a light green glow for a small moment.

"Huh?" The pink girl said, surprised.

"That's my quirk, sweetie, your ankle's good as new." Recovery Girl explained, she then threw the pink girl some gummies. "However, my quirk does use your energy to accelerate your healing process. So you're going to need those." She said before walking up to Izuku. "I'm assuming you're fine?"

Izuku nodded. "Nothing I can't handle." He said, shocking the pink girl and several surrounding examinees. "Anything that comes up will be sorted by Akira as well, so I'm set."

Recovery Girl nodded before walking off to heal the other examinees who were hurt. "Alright then, who's next?"

Izuku was also about to walk off until a voice stopped him. "Wait!" Turning around, he saw the pink girl standing up. "What's your name?" She asked.

Now that Izuku wasn't trying to save her life, he was able to get a good look at her. She looked, in a good way, exotic. Her pink skin and slightly darker pink hair mixed with two horns protruding from the top of her head could have people mistake her for an alien. Then, he saw her eyes. Yellow irises accentuated by black sclera, making him feel as though he was staring at stars.

Her looks and the confidence he gains when fighting disappearing turned him into a tomato. "I'm I-Izuku Midoriya." He sputtered out with a small smile.

The pink girl seemed surprised by his sudden change in demeanour but wrote it off as nothing. "Well, thanks for the save, Midoriya!" She said in a cheery tone. "I'm Mina Ashido." The girl stuck her hand out to him with a large, toothy smile.

Izuku very timidly shook her hand. While his training with Akira had improved a lot of things, his ability to talk to girls was definitely not one of them. "It's fine, I'm just glad no one was h-hurt." He said, mentally berating himself for stuttering after working on it for so long.

"Aw, that's sweet." Mina said. "Hope I get to see you again, Midori, bye!" She walked off, leaving a red faced Izuku behind.

'Midori?' The greenette shook off his embarrassment after he realised he had been standing there for a minute. 'Focus up, Izuku.'

He walked off to the changing rooms to grab his stuff but he didn't bother getting changed. Avoiding Bakugou on the way, he reached the gates and saw Akira there waiting for him. "Yo, Izuku, how'd it go?" Akira asked.

"Pretty good. If my head count was right I got about 62 points." Izuku said.

Akira nodded. "Nice, 58 by my count." He gave his own score. "Did you see that zero-pointer; that thing was huge." While the black-haired teen was confident in his own strength, he knew that it'd take him a while to dismantle something like that.

"Yeah I saw it." Izuku said with an embarrassed chuckle. " I had to fight it to make sure that it didn't crush someone." The greenette rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"You fought it!?" Akira exclaimed. "Did you win?"

Izuku nodded. "Yeah, I did its face in." He explained with a small grin.

A grin that Akira returned. "Anything else crazy happen?" He asked.

Izuku was about to say no when remembered something. "Yeah but we can't talk about it here." He said, getting a raised eyebrow from Akira. "Let's just go to my house and I'll explain."

Akira shrugged. "Alright then." He said, and they both walked off to Izuku's.

Midoriya Residence

Izuku closed the door to his room and locked it, earning another raised eyebrow from Akira. "Dude, what happened?" He asked again.

Izuku sat down on his bed. "I think I unlocked another quirk." He explained, getting wide eyes from Akira.

"Wait, really?" Akira asked, Izuku nodded. "What is it?"

Izuku thought about how to explain it. "It's complicated." He began. "I was flying around the exam area when my head told me to look left. I did and I saw an examinee about to get crushed. I saved them and then my head went off again; that time I avoided getting myself crushed. This happened for the rest of the exam; my head told me if someone was in danger and I followed it."

Akira was in deep thought. "So… a danger sense?" He theorised.

"I guess." Izuku shrugged. "I need a way to test it though." He began to mumble to himself. "Maybe if I get a few blindfolds and get Akira to attack me, that would be a good way to test it. I could also-"

As the greenette theorised complicated ideas, Akira put his much simpler one into motion. Picking up a stress ball on Izuku's desk and charging his quirk into his hand, he silently threw it at Izuku. To his and Izuku's surprise, Izuku dodged it.

"Well, looks like quirk number three is Danger Sense." Akira said with a smile.

Izuku instantly went into analysing mode. "This is incredibly useful; it could cover my blind spots and I could focus on what's in front of me." His head was running through multiple battle scenarios. "I wonder who's quirk this was?"

"Probably one of the older users." Akira said. "It's a simple quirk; effective, but simple. That kind of quirk is usually first or second generation quirk users from back in the day." He explained. "It'd be easier if we could ask All Might."

Izuku waved him off. "We're gonna need to learn to handle stuff on our own." He told his friend. "All Might's going to be busy as a teacher, we can't expect special treatment cause we know him."

Akira smiled at Izuku. "Look at that, being your own person." He said. "I'm proud."

Izuku smiled back. "I have to thank you for that."

Akira laughed before standing up. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow for training."

Izuku also stood up. "Alright, I'm gonna go for a fly." He said, grabbing his earmuffs and visor.

"You really like flying, don't you?" Akira asked with a chuckle.

Izuku shrugged as he put on his equipment. "What can I say; it feels nice up there."

They both exited Izuku's house. "Well, have a good flight, see you tomorrow."

"Bye, Akira" Izuku waved as he shot off, disappearing past the clouds.

Akira shook his head. 'His whole life without a quirk and suddenly he has three.' He thought with a chuckle. 'Well, if anyone deserves that much, it's him.' With that, he walked off to his home.

Up Past the Clouds

Izuku let himself get lost in the wind as he soared through the sky. Ever since he got an approved flying license, it became his main method of transport. He even flew to school. It's surprised him that no one caught him yet, his landings weren't exactly quiet in the first few weeks.

'Lots of clouds today.' Izuku thought with a smile. 'I like it.' The clouds were the ground in the sky and the bright amber light above him made them a beautiful colour. "Freedom!" He exclaimed

However, his excitement was soon cut off as a voice spoke next to him. "Hey, kid."

Looking next to him, Izuku's eyes almost popped out of his skull. Flying next to him, was the Wing Hero: Hawks. "Oh my God, you're H-hawks!" He stuttered out.

"Yup, Hawks at your service." The winged man twirled in the air. "What are you doing up here, kid?" He asked.

Izuku flew straight for a few seconds before he registered the question. "O-oh I'm just going for a fly." He said, trying to keep his composure.

"Do you have a license?" Hawks asked. "I'm all for letting people fly but, unfortunately, there are laws regarding this kind of thing."

The greenette nodded and pulled his license out of his pocket. "Y-yeah, here it is."

Hawks observed it and nodded. "Alright, I was checking." Izuku put away his license. "So any reason for flying?" He asked, trying to light up a conversation.

"The wind helps me cool down." Izuku started. "I just got back from the entrance exam for Yuuei today and I'm working off a few nerves."

Hawks' interest peaked. "Yuuei?" He asked. "So you're trying to be a hero?"

"Y-yeah." Izuku nodded. "I've wanted to be one ever since I learned what they were."

Hawks thought for a bit. "What's your motivation to be a hero?" He asked curiously. "Fame? Fortune? Females?"

"N-no! Nothing like that!" Izuku exclaimed with red cheeks. "I just want to help people and make them feel safe." He mumbled slightly at the end.

"Woah, okay. I got it." Hawks had his hands up in mock surrender. "Yuuei, huh? How do you think you did on the exam?" He asked, trying to switch up the conversation.

Izuku thought for a bit. "Well I think I did pretty well on the written test." He started. "I got 62 points on the practical but I'm not sure if destroying the zero-pointer deducts points or not." He mumbled to himself; Hawks heard him though.

"Woah, hold up, you destroyed a zero-pointer?" Hawks asked. "I didn't attend Yuuei but every hero in Japan knows what a zero-pointer is." He explained. "How'd you take it down, are you one of those new dual-quirk users?"

Izuku almost lost his composure but was able to steady himself. "N-no, I just have a really powerful energy stockpiling quirk." He explained, getting a raised eyebrow from Hawks.

"Energy stockpiling? How are you flying then?" Hawks asked. "Aren't energy stock quirks strength enhancement or weird energy beams?"

"Well, most are." Izuku started. "Mine's different though; it stockpiles energy that I can use for a bunch of things." His tone just barely held strong. "I can enhance my strength with the energy or emit it around my body to lift me off the ground." He explained, hoping that his excuse would work. "I find new ways to use it all the time."

Luckily, Hawks seemed to buy his explanation. "Okay, makes sense I guess. Also, if you did that well on the exam, I doubt they'd reject you." He said. "But back to the zero-pointer, why'd you fight it?" Hawks had seen those things, most heroes wouldn't try to fight them unless it was necessary, even then a few might run away.

"There was an examinee trapped underneath some rubble." Izuku said. " If I didn't do anything than the zero-pointer would've crushed them."

Hawks smiled. "So you fought it to rescue someone?" The greenette nodded. "Then there's no need to worry then, they're definitely not going to reject you." He said before adding. "If they do, then they're losing a perfect hero candidate."

"R-really?" Izuku asked, slightly embarrassed from the praise.

"Yeah, really." Hawks replied. "Matter of fact, if they reject you, come to my agency, I'll make sure you're a pro even if it means teaching you myself." He said with a laugh. "It'll be nice to have another flyer around."

"T-thanks, Mr. Hawks." Izuku said with a large smile.

"Just Hawks is fine, I'm only 22." Hawks said. "I'm more like a senior classmate than a senior citizen."

Izuku laughed out an apology. "S-sorry, Hawks." Izuku was cut off from saying anything as the sounds of explosions caught his ears.

Izuku and Hawks both stopped flying and turned to the direction of the noise. "What was that?" Another explosion went off and he looked towards Izuku. "Want some hands-on training?" Hawks asked.

The greenette looked at the pro with wide eyes. "W-wha, is that even allowed?" Izuku asked.

"As long as someone has a permission from a pro, acts of vigilantism are excused." Hawks explained. "And I wanna see your conviction." He said before asking again. "You in?"

Izuku nodded instantly. "Y-yeah!" He exclaimed.

Hawks smiled. "Let's go then!"

They both shot downwards towards the source of the explosions. Upon leaving the clouds, they saw a large plume of smoke from the city below. They landed and saw a strange, somewhat barbaric sight. In front of them were two, for lack of a better word, monsters.

They were large humanoid creatures with light grey skin. Their most prominent feature were their heads, more specifically, their exposed brains. The only sounds they made were screeches. One had four eyes scattered on its brain and the other had four arms.

Hawks looked around and saw another one in the air. This one had a more vibrant skin colour, bat-like wings, and eight arms. In each arm it held a gas tank. 'That must be what's causing the explosions.'

Hawks turned to Izuku. "Is your stockpiling quirk enough to handle those two?" He asked.

Izuku nodded. "Should be more than enough."

"Good, I'm gonna stop that one up there and make sure other heroes have everyone evacuate properly." He looked to the monsters and thought for a moment. "Either incapacitate or restrain those two." Hawks titled his head as they gargled at him. "Weird."

"Alright then." Izuku said, taking off his jumper and tying it around his waist.

"Good luck, kid." Hawks said before flying off. "Try not to die."

Izuku looked towards the two creatures and saw their stares had moved from Hawks to him. He steeled himself and slowly began to charge One For All. Red veins of power began to appear along his body as he readied 10% of his quirk. After that, he simply waited for the monsters to make a move. That moment came in mere seconds and they both shot forward at surprising speeds; the one with four eyes seeming to grow as it got closer.

The greenette caught both of the creature's fists in his hands and was surprised when his feet shuffled back. 'Muscle Augmentation?' He upped his output to 15% and he pushed them back.

Izuku rushed the one with four eyes and threw a spinning hook kick towards its face, sending it flying back lightly, before moving to the other creature. He ducked underneath it trying to grab him before jumping and punching it in its stomach. However, the monster only moved back slightly before throwing all four of its arms to Izuku. The greenette managed to cross his arms in front of his body before the blow but was still sent back a fair distance.

'What the hell? That had way more power than it should've.' The creature rushed forward again and threw another punch; this time, Izuku caught it with ease. 'Some kind of absorption and release quirk? But it definitely had enhanced strength.'

Izuku's thoughts were cut short as he sensed something behind him. Shifting his weight, he threw the creature he was holding and used to bat away the other. 'That thing's back up already? My punch should've broken its ribs.'

Izuku threw the monster he held towards the downed one and bought himself some time to think. 'So four eyes has a muscle augmentation quirk and a strength enhancement quirk on top of that. It also probably has some kind of enhanced regeneration to get up that quirk. The other one has enhanced strength, a sort of absorption and release quirk, and its four arms.'

The greenette didn't even need danger sense to hear the monster's running up to him. 'Alright, planning time.' He quickly thought of all the ways he knew to get around those quirks. 'I gotta break the one with four arms since it can't absorb that and knockout four eyes.'

Plan in mind Izuku caught the two monster's fists before slowly powering up to 20%. His grip tightened as his quirk output grew and Izuku used it to break their hands. The four-eyed monster was quickly knocked back with a kick and the greenette focused on the four-armed monster. He jumped over two arms trying to grab him before grabbing them and flipping onto the creature's back. With a quick tug and pull, he easily shattered the bones in the arms he held.

The other creature was quick to get up and rushed towards Izuku. He reacted by twisting around the creature he was holding and using it as a shield. The four-armed beast took the punch and dropped to the floor, unmoving. Izuku jumped off the monster and rushed to other one, sending it into the air with rising, triple hook kick.

The greenette flew up and grabbed the creature's arm. "This won't kill you but it isn't gonna tickle either." With a shout, Izuku flew down and slammed the creature onto the ground, headfirst. A small crater was made from the impact and the second monster stopped moving.

Izuku sighed in relief after seeing them not move and looked around for something to bind them with. He spotted two stop signs and got an idea. Removing the stop signs from the ground, Izuku bent the metal poles around each of the creatures, effectively restraining them.

Hawks flew down a moment later, slightly scuffed up. "Hey, kid." He nodded in approval at the restrained monster. "Good work, you clean up well."

Izuku noticed the winged creature was missing. "What happened to the other one?" He asked.

The blonde sighed. "I had it cornered but some weird purple mist surrounded it and it disappeared." He explained.

"A warping quirk?" Izuku asked.

Hawks thought. "Maybe, but it definitely wasn't the villains. Had to be some third parties." He said. "Anything like that here on your end?"

Izuku shook his head. "No, but there was another problem." He started. "These things had multiple quirks."

Hawks raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?" He asked.

Izuku nodded. "Definitely. They both had enhanced strength to begin with." He began to explain. "The one with four arms has its obvious mutation and an absorption-and-release quirk of some kind. The other one had muscle augmentation and a regeneration quirk."

Sirens could be heard closing in; a few cop cars and a containment truck pulled up. "We're gonna have to tell them that for the report." Hawks said.

Izuku's eyes widened. "W-we?" He asked.

"Yeah. Don't worry, you won't get in trouble; I can guarantee." Hawks reassured.

Izuku nodded and they walked up to the officers.

"Ah, Hawks. Good job cleaning up." One of the officers praised the blonde, but Hawks shook his head.

"Wasn't me" The winged-man said, getting shocked looks from them. "It was this kid." He said pointing to Izuku. "What's your name?" It dawned on him he actually hadn't gotten a name.

"Izuku Midoriya." Izuku replied, surprising himself by not stuttering. 'Yes, good job, Izuku.'

"And I gave him permission to use his quirk, so there's no problems here." Hawks said, getting the officers to sigh in relief.

"That's good, wouldn't want to undermine a future hero just because of technicalities." One of them said. "So what can you tell us about those two?" He asked.

Izuku took a deep breath and started to explain what they were. Needless to say, the officers all had shocked looks on their faces afterwards.

"So they weren't able to speak?" The lead officer asked.

"Nothing more than a few gargles and screeches." Izuku said.

"Same with mine." Hawks added. "All it did was wail like a banshee."

The officer wrote everything down on his notepad. "We'll have to do some testing on them then. Thank you for your service, and we'll be rooting for you, Midoriya." The officer said as they left the scene, the two creatures locked up in their transports.

After they were gone Hawks turned to Izuku. "Good going, kid, you managed to keep your composure."

Izuku was taking deep breaths. "At least it's over now." The greenette sighed in relief, getting a shake of the head from Hawks. "It isn't; what's left?" He asked.

"The worst part." Hawks pointed to a fast approaching cluster of reporters. "The media." He said, causing Izuku to pale. "Take deep breaths, kid, this is the one part of the job that all heroes have to overcome."

Izuku took slow breaths and steeled himself.

~ 10 Minutes Later ~

"Sorry, folks, that's all the time we have. The kid and I gotta get going." Hawks said, flying above the reporters; Izuku flew up next to him. "Stay safe." Hawks said before shooting off past the clouds, Izuku followed suit immediately after.

Above the Clouds

"Does that part ever get easier?" Izuku asked.

"You get used to it but it doesn't become less annoying." Hawks said." All you have to do is make sure you keep a straight head and calmly answer the questions you can."

Izuku nodded. "Okay."

"You did a pretty good job today." Hawks said. "I'll say what I said earlier again, if Yuuei doesn't take you, I will. My agency could definitely use someone like you." Izuku was close to crying.

"Thanks, Hawks." Izuku said.

They landed at Izuku's complex and Hawks waved him goodbye.

"I'll see you some other time, kid. Remember what I said." And with that, Hawks was off.

Izuku smiled as he entered his apartment. That smiled was soon wiped away as he saw his Mother in the living room, sitting in front of the T.V. The news was on and it was replaying a video of him battling the creatures. Izuku started floating and silently made his way to his room.

"Izuku." His Mother's voice stopped him in his tracks and he turned towards her. She was surrounded by floating jandals and was holding a wooden rolling pin. "Is that you on the news?" The calm tone she had and the look on her face sent a chill down Izuku's spine.

"Noo…" He lied.

"And so the day was saved by Hawks and the young 15-year old Izuku Midoriya…" Izuku really wished they hadn't stayed for an interview.

"I can explain…" Izuku said, then flew off to his room.

"IZUKU MIDORIYA!" Inko shouted as she chased her son, several jandals and wooden kitchen appliances floating behind her. "YOU COME BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!"

Izuku was grounded for a week.
