|Chapter 7: Sports Festival, Start!
Class 1A, Start of Next Week
Izuku and his classmates were all chatting back in class after their small break. The USJ incident last week had made the news and the whole school had heard of the infamous 1A by now. While the general public had been worried that U.A was infiltrated, their fears were quelled by the defeat of the Nomu at the hands of Izuku, Akira, and All Might.
Jirou suddenly picked up footsteps down the hall and sat up. "It's Sensei!" She called, quieting everyone instantly.
Aizawa walked through the door and was met with an attentive, quiet class. "Good morning." He greeted them with a slightly suspicious tone. "Good to see you're all behaving." His eyes scanned over all of them before he decided to continue. "Alright, before you get started with your other classes, I have another announcement for you all."
Most of the class began to panic. 'Please not another surprise trip.' They weren't exactly keen for a repeat of the USJ.
"We will be holding the Yuei Sports Festival in two weeks." Aizawa said, making most of the class excited; some still had a few fears.
"Sensei, do you think it's a good idea to hold the festival after the villain attack?" Ojiro asked.
Hagakure raised her hand. "Yeah, what if they attack again?"
Aizawa understood their fears. "Don't worry, we'll be increasing security five-fold." He said, easing most of the classes fear by a tiny bit. "This is an event that won't be cancelled because of one villain attack."
"Seems like a good enough reason." Kaminari said under his breath.
"You all need to try your hardest if you want to get a head start on becoming a hero." Aizawa said, confusing some of them. "Several pro-heroes from all around Japan watch the festival, if you can make an impression on them then they might ask you to intern with them." He explained.
"Intern?" Akira asked. "What's that?"
"I'll explain what that is after the festival." Aizawa said. "But listen closely, you only get a chance like this three times in your life, once a year, each year you're here." He explained. "Don't slack off, train as hard as you can, and go beyond…."
"Plus ultra!" The class said in unison.
Aizawa nodded with a smile. "Homeroom is dismissed then."
End Of The Day
It was another usual day for 1A, nothing special with the exception of a rainbow canon being tested in the cafeteria. However, as the class tried to leave, their exit was blocked off by a large crowd.
"The fuck do you want?" Bakugou asked, before getting slapped in the back of the head by Kirishima.
A purple haired teen walked to the front of the crowd. "I mean I don't know what these guys are doing here but I wanted to meet the famous Class 1A." He said in a bored tone. "Didn't realise you were all arrogant pricks." His continuous bored tone reminded them of Aizawa, and they could almost see a resemblance when they squinted their eyes.
"Oh I'll show you-" Bakugou didn't get to finish his threat as Kirishima pulled him inside the classroom and put Izuku in his place.
"W-what, why me?" Izuku asked; he didn't get a response as the red-haired teen shut the door on him. The greenette looked to the crowd and then to the purple haired student. "Um, I'm Izuku Midoriya." He introduced, sticking out his hand.
The purple haired teen looked at his extended hand with mild surprise before shaking it. "Hitoshi Shinso." He greeted back. "Are you the class rep or something?" His eyes scanned over the teen in front of him and he couldn't shake the feeling of déjà vu in his head.
"I'm the vice rep." Izuku corrected with a smile. "Not by choice."
Shinso shrugged. 'Good enough.' He thought to himself. "Well I just want you and your class to know that this is a declaration of war." Quick and to the point. "Did you know that someone from General Studies can transfer into the Hero Course if they do well enough in the Sports Festival?" The Aizawa lookalike asked rhetorically.
Izuku, oblivious to his tone, nodded his head. "Yeah, that was my backup plan if I didn't get into the Hero Course." He explained. "Either that or Shiketsu." The greenette had correctly theorised that the entrance exam wouldn't be kind to people without powerful quirks, so he thought of using the Sports Festival. This was, of course, before he received One For All.
"Oh…" Shinso said, surprised. "Well, uhhh." He didn't have a response for that. "Someone else have anything to say?" His eyes roamed around the crowd, desperate to find an escape to the awkward interaction.
"Hell yeah I do!" A teen with grey hair yelled, moving to the front of the crowd. "Class 1B also declares war with you guys!" The teen's arms suddenly turned into steel and he flexed them. "We could've taken on the villains you faced no problem so don't go thinking you're better than us!" He bellowed.
Izuku's expression instantly changed to that of disappointment and he gave the teen a stern look. "You think we wanted to get attacked by villains?" He asked with a chilling tone. "You think we were glad that we could've gotten killed?" A heavy atmosphere filled the hall and the students reflexively took a step back. "We didn't ask for this, we were just trying to go through a rescue exercise!" His voice had picked up several decibels and he was now shouting at them. "Honestly, what are you even trying to prove here? All you're doing right now is flexing your fragile ego and-!"
The door to Class 1A opened and Akira, Tokoyami, and Mina quickly rushed out.
"Okay, my bad." Akira said, standing in front of Izuku. "I probably should've been out here to handle this."
Tokoyami took his side. "They don't understand what happened." He said to his friend. "But thank you for defending us."
"Yeah, you the best, Izuku." Mina said in a cheery tone, taking his other side.
Izuku had dropped his head and chuckled in embarrassment. "I'm sorry." He said in a sad, quiet voice.
The three walked Izuku through the crowd and the students quickly made way for them. "Let's go get some Mochi, yeah?" Akira suggested. "We can go to that one place near your place, they have a really good selection.
Izuku nodded. "That'd be nice."
"Mochi!" Uraraka exclaimed, popping out of nowhere.
As they walked off, Shinso watched Izuku with a keen eye. 'I swear I know him from somewhere…'
U.A Stadium, Class A Waiting Room, Weeks Later
Weeks had passed since the incident in the hallway and all of Class 1A had taken the declaration from the rest of their cohort to heart. They had all grouped up and trained together as hard as they could, not wanting to be shown up.
As they say in the waiting room, Izuku looked downwards in thought. 'I'm not sure if I can use much of One For All here.' He thought. 'I don't want to break someone's bones on accident.' His brain automatically filtered away the sounds of broken bones and he quickly came up with a solution. 'Keep it below 15%, that should be more than enough.'
Almost sensing his worry, Akira looked over at Izuku. "You know whenever you pull that face it means you think you did something wrong and are trying to make up for it." He started, getting Izuku to look at him. "You good?"
Izuku waved him off. "It's nothing, Akira, really." He lied. "Just nervous is all."
"Yeah, I totally get that." Uraraka said, leaning over Akira's back. "Especially since you have to give the student pledge."
Izuku's thoughts came to a halt and he did a double take. "The student what?" He asked, thinking he misheard her.
"The student pledge." Tokoyami said. "You give a speech in front of the audience."
"Wait, why me?" Izuku asked. 'Why am I always getting pushed to the centre stage?'
"You placed first in the entrance exam." Kirishima said, placing a hardened hand over Bakugou's mouth when he tried to argue. "Best student in our cohort, it's just a thing."
"Of course that's why." Izuku sighed.
Iida suddenly burst in. "We're being called out!" He exclaimed to his classmates.
Akira stood up. "Let's go then." He said, Uraraka still on his back. "Are you gonna let go?"
Uraraka simply shook her head. "Nope!" She popped the 'p' at the end.
Their classmates all chuckled at their antics and made their way out to the stadium.
U.A Stadium
The audience cheered as all the students made it out on to the field. It seemed as though all the pro heroes in Japan had taken a day off to come and watch this event. While it was nice to see the turnout, it did absolutely nothing for Izuku's nervousness.
A crack of a whip turned everyone's attention to the stage and they saw the referee, R-Rated Hero: Midnight. A large portion of the male audience members shot her perverted looks, heroes and students included.
"That's quite enough!" Midnight called into the mic, striking another pose. "Can Izuku Midoriya of Class 1A please come and give the pledge." She requested.
Izuku steeled himself, walked up to the stage, and took a deep breath before he spoke. "I'm going to be honest here, I don't have a big speech for you all." He started. "I didn't even realise I was giving a pledge until, like, ten minutes ago." The greenette's statement earned some chuckles from the audience.
'Probably should have mentioned it to him.' Aizawa thought, sitting in the commentator's booth.
"But I do have a message." Izuku got their attention back instantly. "No matter what happens today, no matter if you lose and are on the floor, don't give up; because there's nothing crueller than letting a dream end midway." He said, lighting a fire in the audience and his fellow students. "In the words of an old pro, smile and stand up." All Might looked at his student with a large grin. "Because those who can smile in this world are always the strongest."
The stadium was quiet until one person started to clap, then another, and another. Soon enough the entire stadium was standing up and cheering for Izuku, making him blush slightly in embarrassment.
As he was walking down, several of the students gave him curious looks. No one could catch a read on him and were wary of him. One in particular student with red and white hair was extra curious. 'What drives you?'
Midnight was gushing over the speech. "Such youth!" The woman exclaimed with a high-pitched tone. "Alright, let's get started on the first event!" She cracked her whip again and the stadium screens began to choose a game.
They stopped on… "Alright, looks like we got the obstacle race!" Present Mic said from his perch.
"Well this'll be an interesting one." Midnight said as the screens changed to show the map of the course. "The participants of this event will be doing a four kilometre course around the stadium; be careful though, we've rigged up a few nasty traps." She warned. "The first 42 students to make it back will compete in the second event!" The sound of her whip cracked again. "Now, line up!"
As the students rushed to get to the front of the crowd, Izuku walked backwards. 'Don't want to knock anyone over.' Only a few people seemed to notice this, including a certain winged-hero.
After seeing all the students line up, Midnight spoke. "On your marks!" The students all got into running stances. "Get set!" Quirks were going off and the crowd was getting restless. "GO!" Midnight yelled with a loud crack of her whip.
The doors opened and all the students rushed through the tunnel. There was only one problem.
"It's way too crowded in here!" One of the students yelled.
Another was pushed against the wall. "Hey, stop pushing!"
As the students fought in the tunnel, Izuku was still in his same position at the back. He observed the chaos for a few moments before 15% of One For All began to wash his body. His actions, unsurprisingly, drew a large amount of confused looks. However, before anyone could comment, Izuku shot upwards. He flew over the stadium and landed in front of the tunnel, making a small crater on impact. Looking behind him, he saw the tunnel become covered with ice before Todoroki shot out.
Todoroki watched in mild confusion as Izuku ran back to the tunnel. The greenette reeled both of his arms back before jumping in the air. While what Todoroki did would help him win, it didn't let anyone else have a chance. Falling to the ground, Izuku slammed his hands down, creating a mini quake that shattered Todoroki's ice.
"Good stuff, Izuku!" Akira said as he shot out of the tunnel.
Izuku turned around and shot forward before his head yelled at him. Stopping and jumping straight up, Izuku narrowly avoided being crushed by a group of two-pointers. As he landed, he slammed his fist into the ground, throwing back the robots. His eyes scanned the area ahead of him and he saw a large army of robots from the entrance exam, zero-pointers as well.
"Looks like our students have found their first obstacle!" Present Mic exclaimed into the P.A system. "The Robo-Inferno!"
A number of general studies students seemed slightly jarred at the robots in front of them and took involuntary steps back. Izuku saw Todoroki running towards the zero-pointers without a care in the world. After what he did next, the greenette understood why. Before they could even touch the heterochromatic teen, he froze every single one of them in place with a colossal burst of ice.
"Hey look, we've got a way to get through." A student from 1B called out.
Todoroki thought that he should at least warn the students behind him. "I wouldn't if I were you!" He shouted. "They're not exactly frozen in the best position!"
His warning came true as all but two zero-pointers began to crash to the ground. Izuku looked to his right and saw two students about to be crushed by one of the falling behemoths. The greenette quickly shot towards the falling two and grabbed them just before the robot could fall on them. He secured the two students in his arms before laying them down on the ground.
"Are you two alright?" Izuku asked, getting a nod from the two girls. "Great!" He exclaimed before he moved in front of all of the students. 'Let's even this out.' Charging 25% of One For All, Izuku moved all of the power into his arm before punching forward.
The wind flash that followed sent nearly all of the robots flying into each other, creating a mangled mess of scraps and a clear path down the middle. Yaoyorozu also decided to help out and conjured a canon from her body before taking out the last zero-pointers. While they were confused, the other students were ultimately grateful to the two 1A powerhouses and continued on their way.
Izuku also continued the race and was glad he was flying as the next obstacle was- "THE FALL!" Present Mic announced, interrupting the author. "Students better watch their steps." He warned.
The greenette observed the obstacle and actually had to take a moment to process it. This was incredibly dangerous, more-so than the robot inferno they just faced. Izuku hoped that they had a net at the bottom of this canyon, because several lawsuits awaited them if they didn't. Danger sense suddenly spiked and Izuku saw Mina slipping off one of the wires.
"No!" The greenette shot down towards the pink-skinned girl and managed to catch her as she fell off. "Phew." Izuku quickly flew up to the end of the obstacle and held her tight. "Are you okay?" He asked in a worried tone.
Mina blushed from the embrace but nodded. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." She said, discreetly getting comfortable in his arms.
"Thank, Kami." Izuku sighed. "Seriously, that obstacle is a lawsuit waiting to happen." He realised he was still holding Mina and put her on her feet. "S-sorry." The greenette stammered.
Mina missed the warmth of his arms but shook herself. "It's fine." She said. "Good luck with the rest of the race."
Izuku nodded and started to fly again. "Same to you." He said before shooting off.
Once again, Izuku had to thank every star in the sky that he had gotten Float. If he hadn't he would've ran into- "THE MINEFIELD!" Present Mic shouted. "These mines won't kill ya but they ain't gonna tickle either." He warned.
The greenette continued to fly at a cruise pace through the minefield. Todoroki and Bakugou both looked at Izuku in surprise as he passed them before instantly deciding to forego the safety route. Ice covered the mines in front of Todoroki and Bakugou's explosions rocketed him past the mines.
Izuku didn't need danger sense to know the two were just behind him and smiled. 'Perfect.' Turning around so he was flying backwards, the greenette aimed a finger at the ground beneath Todoroki and Bakugou before clapping. The wind flash served to both stagger the two and set off all the mines around them at once. Laughing at his work, Izuku turned back around before bursting through the tunnel.
"Let's welcome your first place winner for the first event!" Present Mic exclaimed, getting the crowd to their feet. "From Class 1A, Izuku Midoriya!" The sound of thunderous applause permeated the air and Izuku smiled widely.
The greenette landed on the ground and did a small bow. Behind him, Todoroki pulled in second with Bakugou right behind him in third. Kirishima sprinted through the gates, earning himself ninth place, but didn't stop running. The red-haired teen kept going until he tackled Bakugou to the ground; the latter had been slowly walking to Izuku with a mad, feral expression on his face.
After the last student entered, Midnight cracked her whip. "Could the first 42 students please come to the centre." She called. "The other students may take their seats." After everyone was gathered around, she pointed to the screens. "Let's see what our next event is, shall we?"
The screen displayed a large wheel and began to spin, it landed on- "A CAVALRY BATTLE!"
"Thank you, Mic." Midnight said, rubbing her ear. "The rules of this are simple. You will all make yourselves teams consisting of two to four players. The team's points will be determined by the individual points of each member. Your points are decided by your placing in the Obstacle Race." She explained. "Last place starts off with five and will continue up in intervals of five to first place who has…"
'So… 210 by my math.' Izuku thought. 'Plus whoever my teammates are, so I gotta-'
"Ten Million Points!" Midnight announced.
'Yup, that checks with my luck.'
The remaining students, minus a few 1A students, all shot death glares at Izuku. However, the greenette looked on unphased and spiked an uncontrolled 40% power burst, causing large amounts of green sparks to encircle him for a moment.
Midnight, sensing the tension, cracked her whip. "You can use your quirks however you want to keep your points safe or to steal others." She explained further. "But no causing harm…" She warned with a sultry tone. "Alright, you have five minutes to assemble your teams, go!"
Izuku looked around and thought for a bit. 'Well, with this many points, I can afford not to have a big team; I just have to pick one…' His eyes suddenly locked onto a tuft of purple hair and he smiled. 'Perfect.'
As the greenette walked off, he missed Akira, Uraraka, and Mina looking for him.
Five Minutes Later
"Alright, we got some pretty sick teams here folks." Present Mic announced.
"Indeed we do." Midnight said. "A few interesting ones as well."
Izuku's team only consisted of himself and Shinso, the latter wearing the headbands around his neck while he held onto the greenette's back. 'It's like I weigh as much as a doll to him.'
Akira, since he couldn't find Izuku, had himself, Mina, Uraraka, and another pinkette from the support course on his team. He took the front horse position with Uraraka and the support student as the back horses. On the top in the rider position was Mina.
The pink-skinned girl had a small pout seeing Izuku's choice of team. 'That could've been me.' She tried to stop the heat from her cheeks rising as she realised what she was thinking.
Kirishima had taken charge of his own team and didn't let Bakugou say no to him, someone needed to keep him in check. The red-haired teen took the front horse with Bakugou as his rider. Sero and Tokoyami both took the back horses.
Todoroki had built a well-balanced but extremely powerful team. He took Iida as his front horse for speed while Yaoyorozu and Kaminari took the back, giving him some of the best offence possible. With him on top with his ice, they were regarded as the ultimate team.
Koda had taken the form a large black bear and held the position of all three horses while Hagakure, Jirou, and Sato took a seat on his back. Hagakure kept their headbands and made herself invisible while Jirou and Sato took defense on the back.
The last members of class 1A, had Tsu, Shoji, Ojiro, and Aoyama. Aoyama took the front horse as their main offense while Shoji and Ojiro took the back horses. With their transforming mutations, the two were able to completely cover their back and protect their rider, Tsu. While a strange team, none could deny that they were a strong combination.
"Well, let's not waste any more time!" Present Mic shouted. "Midnight, let's get this rodeo started!"
Midnight cracked her whip. "BEGIN!"
In an instant, all teams rushed Izuku and Shinso. "Hold on tight." The greenette warned.
Shinso was holding on so tight that anyone else would've thought he was trying to choke them. "Yes, sir." He nodded, securing their headbands as well. 'This should be fun.'
As all the teams neared them, Izuku shot up into the sky. "Bye!" He shouted with a large smile, leaving a small wind flash in his wake. The wind from his take off was so powerful that a few teams were knocked back.
"Hey! You can't do that!" One of the students from 1B called as they regained their bearing.
Another 1B student nodded. "Yeah, that's totally unfair."
"Midnight said we can use our quirks however we want to defend our points as long as we don't hurt anyone." Izuku explained with a small smile. "This is the most logical thing for me to do."
Up in the commentator's box, Aizawa grinned underneath his scarf. 'Ha.'
All of the students turned to Midnight with an expectant expression. "No, he's right." She said, making their faces drop. "He can't be the only one here who can fly." Her eyes roamed around the field and she saw Mina with a jetpack. "See, you have a jetpack, resume!"
The students all sighed and turned to each other. "Class 1B, attack!" A blonde from 1B suddenly called out. Quirks started to go off as 1B turned on the nearest 1A teams and vice versa. It was time for the battle of Class 1A and 1B.
"WOAH! We got a class battle down there folks!" Present Mic called out. "Let's see which class is better!"
Aizawa groaned lightly but was secretly on the edge of his seat. 'I mean… might as well see.'
From above the class battle, Izuku and Shinso watched on as observers. "So, are you gonna help out your class?" Shinso asked. "I know it might be bad for us but don't you think they will need all they can get?"
Izuku thought for a bit while looking down at the field before shaking his head. "No, they're all more than capable of handling this themselves." He said.
That statement came true as large portions of the ground became covered in ice while large explosions rocketed across another. The roar of a bear reverberated through the air and a crater was soon put into the ground. "I see…" Shinso said. 'The hero course doesn't play around.'
Izuku was brought out of his thoughts as Danger Sense warned him of something close. Turning around, he saw Mina approaching them with her hand stretched out. He seemed slightly shocked but still caught her hand by the wrist automatically.
Mina's eyes widened as she was caught. "…Hi." She greeted. 'Damnit, I knew this was too risky!'
Izuku looked at the point bands around her neck before looking to the screen. "Shinso, give me the 80." The greenette asked.
Shinso dropped the 80 into Izuku's hand without a word. 'Not like we can lose.'
Izuku put the 80 in Mina's hand and wrapped her fingers around it before lowering her back into the front horse position. "Good luck." He said with a small smile.
Mina had a heavy pink on her cheeks accompanied by a large smile. "Y-you too." She said in a sweet tone. Her smile became a bit smaller as the greenette let go of her hand and she snapped back to reality as he flew off.
However, everyone saw Izuku was back on their level and instantly went on the offensive. Large walls of ice and vine surrounded him and three teams were immediately in front of him, getting ready for a rush. At the very front, Todoroki stood triumphantly with his team. To the left, Bakugou was snarling like a predator. The final team was to the right and consisted of four Class 1B students.
"We'll be taking those now, Midoriya." Todoroki stated like it was fact.
Bakugou shot him nasty look. "As if, Icyhot, that ten million is ours!" He shouted.
"You Class 1A bastards can both shut it, that ten million is going to Class 1B!" Tetsutetsu bellowed.
The three teams continued to argue with each other, forgetting about the first place team. Izuku looked at the arguing teams with a raised eyebrow. "Do you think they know that I can just fly up?" Izuku asked Shinso quietly as he looked upwards. "They didn't make a roof."
The purple-haired teen shook his head. "Doubt it, let's get out of here."
Izuku nodded and slowly ascended back to the sky, ten million safely wrapped around Shinso's neck.
"How about this, first come, first serve!" Bakugou shouted before he looked back to where Izuku was, only to find he was gone. "What the hell!" The pomeranian exclaimed.
Yaoyorozu sighed. "I tried to tell you, Todoroki." She ran a hand down her face. "He was flying away."
"Damn." Todoroki said, he felt like a bigger idiot than Kaminari.
"Hey, you said that out loud!" The electric blonde yelled.
Back up in the air, Izuku and Shinso comfortably waited out the rest of the game. It only took a large air blast that blew apart one of the 1B teams from Izuku to get everyone else to back off.
"TIME IS UP!" Present Mic called out. "Let's take a look at the results people!"
|Cavalry Battle Results
1st Place: Team Shinso
2nd Place: Team Todoroki
3rd Place: Team Bakugou
4th Place: Team Ashido
Midnight quickly did a count of the qualifying competitors and realised something. "We are still in need of two more competitors for the last event." She announced. "So can two competitors from Team Tetsutetsu please discuss who will be competing."
The team decided to do a quick round of rock paper scissors and got Tetsutetsu and a girl with vine-like hair in the finals. Tetsutetsu had a frustrated expression from having only two 1B students but decided that they would bring home first place.
"Alright, we'll take a break for the recreational activities then we'll gather for the tournament." Midnight explained before covering her mic and looking down to the students. "Go on kids, scram."
Izuku looked at his fist with a worried look before shaking his head and steeling himself. '15% is all I need.' He thought.
A hand on his shoulder startled him and he turned around to see Akira. "Yo." The black-haired teen said. "We're gonna get lunch, come on." He pointed to most of the class grouped up together.
"Yeah I could go for some food right now." Izuku felt his stomach grumble before chuckling sheepishly. "I'm starving."
Cafeteria
Akira and Izuku were both currently being held back by most of the male members of their class. Though neither had their quirks activated, they were still pushing through to their target.
"Hikaru , calm down!" Shoji shouted as he struggled to pull back Akira's waist. On his sides, Sero had his tape around one of Akira's arm while Ojiro took another with his tail.
"Come on, Midori-Bro, the little guy isn't worth it!" Kirishima shouted as he tried to push Izuku back, hardening himself to add more weight; it was in vain.
Tokoyami and Dark Shadow both took each of Izuku's arms but were still struggling to hold him back. "This isn't working!"
"That little shit is getting it!" Akira shouted. "Let me go!"
Izuku said nothing but was slowly making more and more ground towards their target.
You see their target was a small general studies student with ball-like, purple hair. He had come up to the girls of 1A and had tried to convince them all they were supposed to be wearing rather revealing cheerleader outfits for the interlude games. That alone had already pissed off Akira. When his eyes landed on Mina and he began to mention the girl's mutations, Izuku had joined him.
"Dude, I just wanted to see some hot chicks!" The grapist tried to plead.
Akira's rage was a bit scary but it was nothing compared to Izuku's cold silence. "Is he anyone important or special?" Sero suddenly asked, turning to Shinso.
"Yeah, we're not gonna be able to hold them much longer." Ojiro grunted, his tail slipping from Akira's arm. "So we need to know if we should let go or double down."
Shinso had his phone up in front of him. "Oh no, definitely not." The purple-haired teen shook his head furiously. "You'd actually be doing a lot of girls a favour if you let go of your friends there." He was recording all of this.
All of the boys suddenly released their hold on Izuku and Akira. "Alright, guys, have fun." Kirishima said. "No quirks." He warned.
Akira cracked his knuckles. "Fine by me."
Izuku said nothing but continued to stalk forward.
The following beatdown had #GrapistBeatdown and #FuckMineta trending for a whole week.
"Will the contestants please come back to the stadium!" Present Mic called.
Izuku picked up the purple menace before throwing him in the air. Akira had been spinning in the air and threw a powerful hook kick at the gen-ed student, sending him into a pillar.
Sero decided that they had done enough and finished their combo by wrapping the purple-haired pervert onto the pillar with tape. "Alright, that was enough." He called nonchalantly.
Iida nodded. "Quite, and we must be getting back to the festival, we have our events."
Taking a big breath, Izuku and Akira both smiled before walking back to the stadium. Uraraka grabbed onto Akira like a koala for the entire walk back.
Stadium
Midnight cracked her whip to get the crowds attention. "Alright, it's time for the first brackets!" She called pointing to the screens. "Let's see who fights who!"
Tournament Fights – Round One
Match One: Izuku Midoriya vs Hitoshi Shinso
Match Two: Mina Ashido vs Ochako Uraraka
Match Three: Shoto Todoroki vs Hanta Sero
Match Four: Fumikage Tokoyami vs Akira Hikaru
Match Five: Tenya Iida vs Mei Hatsume
Match Six: Denki Kaminari vs Ibara Shiozaki
Match Seven: Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu vs Eijiro Kirishima
Match Eight: Momo Yaoyorozu vs Katsuki Bakugou
Izuku observed the brackets before he looked at Shinso with an analytical glance. 'Hold on…' It had just dawned on him that he didn't know his quirk and he doubted anyone else did. 'If he still has as much conviction as he does, then he has to be confident in his quirks ability. Either that or he's quirkless, in which case he'll more than likely have martial arts training.'
Mina seemed to notice his worried expression and decided to do something. "Don't look so worried, Izuku." She said in a sweet tone as she walked up to him and punched his arm. "You're like, one of the strongest people in our class; you got this."
Izuku smiled softly with a bit of pink tinting his cheeks. "Thanks, Mina." He chuckled.
"No problem." Mina said, pink also on her cheeks; well, darker pink.
Meanwhile, Bakugou was giving a loud, motivational rant to Kirishima. It must've been one hell of a speech because the red-haired teen looked like he could take on the world by the end of it.
