Chapter 3
Discord was currently relaxing in a hammock of his own making. Finally! Free. Well, until he had to go back that is. Discord would go here often when he wanted a break from the world. Mostly from his noisy and obnoxious sister, Eris. Even though she was the younger of the two of them, somehow Father liked her better. Probably had to do with the fact that he was more laid back and preferred pranks to textbooks. But hey, someone had to be the comedian in hard times like these. It was then that he heard a scream. He jolted up and snapped his claw. A replica of himself appeared.
"Did you hear that?" Discord asked.
"Of course I did," the replica responded. "I'm you."
"Think we should investigate?" Discord asked.
"Why should we?" the replica replied. "It's some creature else's problem."
"Yeah but..." Discord started.
"But what?" the replica said.
"I'm bored," Discord stated. "And curious."
"You know what they say curiosity killed the cat," the replica responded.
"THEY say a lot of things," Discord said. He snapped his paw and the replica disappeared. He then flew off to find out the source of the scream. He then saw a something trapped in a net and a large creature inching towards the net. 'Well that explains were the sound came from.' Discord thought. He snapped his claw and a large club landed on top of the creature's head. "Hey!" The creature turned towards him. "Beat it!" The creature walked closer towards him and Discord realized that it was a large slobbery troll.
"That thing in the net is my dinner," the troll declared. "Go find something else to eat."
"Actually I'm not hungry just bored," Discord told him. "By you especially." Discord yawned. "And here I thought that trolls were supposed to be brave and strong." The troll was annoyed by this and anger began to boil up in him.
"We are!" the troll exclaimed as he swung his club at Discord. Discord yawned before turning the club into chocolate. The troll saw the changed and licked his chops. "Mummm. Chocolate." He bit into his club and chew it up. The troll then preceded to walk away leaving his former dinner in the net. Discord chuckled to himself.
"Trolls are about as stupid as they come," Discord said to no one in particular. He flew over to the thing in the net and used his claws to open the net and release the poor creature. The creature fell to the ground. "Seriously though, you should be more careful especially in these forests. They're dangerous." The creature starred up at him blankly before nodding.
Fluttershy was confused; this creature saved her. She couldn't tell what it was because of the light was so dim, but she knew it wasn't a pony only confusing her more.
"Who are you?" Fluttershy asked. The creature looked at her straight in the eye. It was about to respond when they heard,
"Fluttershy!" It was Applejack and Rainbow Dash! "Fluttershy!"
"Coming!" Fluttershy called back. She turned to the creature that had saved her. "Thank you." She then ran in the direction of her sisters' voice but not before turning around and seeing the creature flying away and that it had a red lizard's tail. Fluttershy gasped. A draconequus had saved her!
Fluttershy?! That was the name of one of the pony princesses... He had saved the princess of the enemy! He face-palmed into his paw. What had he done!? He could be charged with treason for this! Never mind the fact that he was the prince, he was still screwed if anyone found out. He quickly flew away and headed home.
"Fluttershy!" Applejack exclaimed as Fluttershy came running up to them. Applejack hugged her little sister. "We were worried sick about ya."
"What were you thinking! Disappearing like that!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "You could have been killed!"
"I'm sorry," Fluttershy said. "I didn't mean to." Rainbow Dash sighed.
"Come on," Rainbow Dash said. "We'd better head home before they notice we're gone." They started walking back but all Fluttershy could think of was the draconequus that had saved her. Why had he done that? She just couldn't wrap her mind around it.
