Optimus and Ratchet soon had a visual on the deserted Kaon.
"It is quite odd to see Kaon as it was, but not bustling with bots," Optimus remarked.
"It just gives me the creeps," Ratchet shuddered. "Like those ghost towns on Earth."
He quickly landed the ship in a large park, "Let's get this over with."
They clambered out and Optimus glanced back at the ship, landed precisely on top of the statue of Solus Prime, "Splendid parking job."
Ratchet huffed, "Next time I need a backseat pilot, Prime, I'll let you know."
Optimus grinned and Ratchet glanced down at the scanner he had designed, "The incomplete Allspark container was originally buried somewhere in this sector, where these buildings now are. I'm attempting to trace the faint energy it gives off using my detection scanner."
Optimus followed the medic as he began to walk forward, staring at the scanner, "How will you know when we are close?"
A loud beeping emitted from the scanner and Ratchet, noticing where they were standing, said grimly, "When that happens."
The two friends were standing precariously on the edge of the Pits of Kaon. It was once a glorious gladiatorial arena, but without its lights and cheering fans it looked more like a carnivorous gaping hole, waiting to swallow them into the gloomy darkness.
"Well," Ratchet laughed nervously. "We're not getting any younger, Prime. Let's go."
Optimus nodded wordlessly and they stepped cautiously into the yawning depth below. Their headlights barely illuminated five feet in front of them, but Ratchet was at least able to see his scanner.
"Should be somewhere to the right..." he mumbled to himself, then realized that Optimus was standing very close to him, peering over his shoulder. "Prime, I can't concentrate with you venting down my neck. Go search over there or something."
Optimus sighed, shook his helm, and began searching in a pile of dirt opposite Ratchet. That medic certainly is touchy about his personal space, he thought.
Unconsciously he began moving away from Ratchet, sifting through piles of dirt, until they were about thirty yards apart. Optimus' helm jerked up when he heard something shift directly in front of him. His headlights couldn't pierce that far forward into the darkness.
"Who is there?" he called out.
There was a pause before a sinister voice, one he could never forget, laughed a low, menacing laugh.
"Optimus Prime," it sneered. "Not afraid of the dark, are we?"
It was the last bot he wanted to run into in a dark pit, and he whispered hoarsely, "Megatron?"
Back at the Autobot base in Iacon, Magnia was exuberant about her new quarters. Sure it meant she couldn't interface with Bumblebee, but at least she felt more like part of the team.
She had taken advantage of Optimus being away to invite Knockout and Roulette over. She was certain he wouldn't have been welcoming, and she wanted to meet their new sparkling without incident. Apparently, Knockout had delivered it himself.
"Hey!" Roulette squealed happily when Magnia opened her door, hugging her. "Good to see you! I love your quarters! Have you lost weight? How's Bumblebee? What's-"
Knockout interrupted her rant, smiling, "You better take a seat, Magnia. She goes on forever."
Roulette scowled playfully at him, "I do not." She gasped happily, "And guess who you still have to meet?" She lifted a small sparkling out of the basket Knockout was holding "Look Nitrostar!" she cooed. "It's Aunt Magnia!"
"Awww look how cute he is!" Magnia laughed. "Can I hold him?"
"Blurple urb," Nitrostar murmured in baby talk, probably a protest at being handed to a complete stranger. He was a coppery color, with a few streaks of red on his tiny armor, and his parents' red optics.
Magnia invited them in and they all sat somewhere; Magnia and Roulette on Magnia's bed and Knockout in Magnia's desk chair.
The femmes fussed over Nitrostar for a little while, and Knockout sat, bored, in the chair.
Finally, Roulette said, "So you and Bee are bonded now?"
Magnia nodded and smiled, "Finally. You would not believe how long he was persuading me."
Roulette glanced at Knockout, who grinned. "So, you might have one of these little cuties soon?" Roulette tickled Nitrostar, who gurgled happily
Magnia's faceplates flushed, "Oh, no I don't-yeah I, um, don't think any time soon."
"Oh," Roulette glanced up. "So you guys haven't been, you know..." she blushed.
Magnia coughed, "Um, no we haven't."
Knockout looked between the two femmes, confused, "What are you two talking about?"
"They're awkward in the berthroom," Roulette stage whispered to Knockout.
Both Magnia and Knockout blushed. "No that's not why we haven't," Magnia protested.
"And why did you whisper that loud? She obviously heard you," Knockout laughed.
"So Nitrostar didn't hear," she put her servos protectively over the sparkling's audio receptors. "So why haven't you then?"
"Prime," Magnia groaned. "We were in the middle of it, and he commed Bee, telling him to meet him in the Medbay. And Bee kinda had lipstick all over his faceplates, so Optimus knew. He basically forbid us to interface and even while he's gone, his second in command is following me around."
Roulette gaped at her, "Wow that's really...unfair."
"I know," Magnia sighed. "I don't know what we're gonna do."
Knockout and Roulette stayed for a little while, until Nitrostar became fussy, apparently in need of a nap.
Magnia sat at her desk after they left, tapping her digits and thinking until a knock at the door interrupted her.
"Who is it?" she called.
"Pizza...delivery," Bee said sarcastically. "It's me...open up."
She opened the door and glanced warily into the hallway, "Where's Prowl?"
Bee grinned, "Might have...persuaded...Jazz...to keep...him busy."
"Oh," Magnia took his meaning immediately and smirked. "Come on in then."
She glanced back at him as he shut the door and locked it behind him, "I guess you wanna get right down to it then?"
Bee shrugged and blushed, "...Kinda."
She grinned, grabbed his collarplate, and yanked him to her, "Fine by me, handsome"
A/N Hey I'm sorry I'm not going into detail with this, I kind of wanted to but I didn't really originally start writing it as a sex thing, plus I thought it would be best for the plotline. Hope you enjoyed r&r please!
