It was Monday, 8:30am and my alarm was blaring in my ear. I reluctantly turned it off, threw the covers off, and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I heard a knock on my door, "Raven? Are you awake? It's your uncle"
"Uh, yeah. Come in" I said back through the door. My door opened and in walked my uncle. "Morning dear, how'd you sleep?"
"Alright for once actually" I said back, hints of a grin growing on my face. My uncle smiled back, "I was wondering if you wanted to ride with me to school today, since it's your first day and all?"
"Uh, yeah sure. But I've got to ask, is there anything else I can wear to school? Yellow isn't a good colour…at all". I looked towards the dress that Holly had laid out for me. "You could wear the boys uniform, but I didn't know if that's what you would prefer"
"I'll do you a deal uncle, ill wear the shirt, tie and blazer of the boys uniform, and wear my black tartan skirt. How's that?" my uncle let out a slight sight, before saying, "Deal. I'll get Holly to bring them up to you now. You'd best finish getting everything else done, we'll be leaving soon" with that he turned and walked out the door.
I felt pretty pleased with myself for getting out of wearing that awful yellow gown. Before I knew it Holly was knocking on my door with the top half of the boys uniform. I finished getting dressed, raced downstairs grabbing an apple on the way out, before jumping into my uncles car.
As we pulled up to the school Haruhi was outside waiting for me. "Hey Haruhi!"
"Hey Raven, woah, nice uniform! You dyed your hair too. Its so nice"
"Thank you. I had to compromise with my uncle. There was no way I was going to wear that yellow dress. I felt like changing my blonde hair might help with the nerves" as me and Haruhi chatted on, towards class, I was completely oblivious of Kaoru and Hikaru watching us from the above windows.
*Kaoru POV*
I watched intently as Raven and Haruhi walked into the building. I didn't even hear my brother addressing me until he pinched me, "Ow! Hikaru! That hurts!"
"It was supposed to. I was talking to you and you didn't hear a word I was saying. What were you staring at anyway?" I began to blush furiously, "N-Nothing" I stuttered looking away from my brother so he wouldn't notice my rosy cheeks. "You were staring at the new girl weren't you. The one Haruhi is friends with?"
"What? No!"
"You liar! You like her don't you?"
"I do not!"
"You do too! We're twins, its useless lying to me!"
"I don't! Even if I did, she wouldn't like me back anyway" neither me nor my brother noticed Haruhi and Raven walk into the classroom. "Who wouldn't like you?" Haruhi asked. I almost jumped out of my skin at their sudden appearance.
"Kaoru likes a girl" Hikaru chimed. "HIKARU!" I yelled at him in protest. I looked at Raven who was smiling so kindly. She looked really pretty with her brown hair? When did she have brown hair? "I like your hair Raven" I said, once again trying to hide my blush. She looked away from me though, "Thank you, I did it yesterday". Haruhi and Raven went and took their seats as class began and I gave my brother a slightly forceful shoulder punch.
"Ow Kaoru. What was that for?"
"Not keeping your big mouth shut!" I hissed. He began to smirk at me, "What?" I asked. "Oh nothing, but you just proved me right. You do like Raven! If you don't ask her out I will. I'll pretend to be you"
"Don't you dare!" he smirk grew larger. Argh! Why are brothers so infuriating?
Hi all! I'm back after like what? almost 2/3 years? I'm so sorry. I've had an incredibly busy couple years. I'm working on two stories now (including this one) so hopefully that will encourage me to continue and eventually finish this one. Anyway, enjoy!
