Bumblebee, Magnia, and Optimus raced back to the base after Ratchet's comm, so Magnia and Bumblebee could prepare to depart.
Bumblebee was so excited he could barely control his radio, just made odd whirring and buzzing noises. Finally he managed to get out, "Mags!...Mags!...I'm gonna….!"
"I know, Bee," Magnia laughed and kissed him. "Hurry up and get your stuff so we can go!" Bee nodded happily and continued whirring around like a sparkling, packing his things. Once they were ready, they brought Ravenblade to Arcee for her to watch, which she didn't complain about.
They also had to acquire permission from First Aid to use the space bridge, who was not happy about it. Ratchet had left him specific instructions about the space bridge, and he hated to go against them, until the pair told them it was Ratchet they were going to see.
As First Aid was preparing the space bridge, Optimus raced into the Medbay. Panting, he glanced at the two, "You weren't leaving without me, were you?"
"Of course not," Magnia smiled and inwardly groaned; she'd had her fill of Optimus Prime for the day.
Optimus continued, "I'm not going to miss my son getting his voice back."
"We don't...know it'll...work," Bumblebee fretted. It seemed too good to be true to him.
"I hope to Primus it does," Magnia slipped her servo into Bee's, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"There we go!" First Aid said happily, having finally done the correct sequence of commands. "The space bridge is operational you three."
They stared apprehensively into the swirling blue gates for a moment, before transforming and driving (or in Magnia's case, flying) through.
Once they were through the space bridge, they glanced around at their surroundings. It was the old base, looking exactly the same as it had.
"Bee!" an excited voice called and Raf came rushing over to Bumblebee.
"...Raf!" Bee yelled excitedly, scooping the small boy up into another smushy robot hug.
He laughed, delighted, "It's good to see you Bee! Hey Optimus!"
"Hello, Rafael," Optimus smiled a little.
Raf gazed up at Magnia, who looked a little uncomfortable, 'Bee, is that who I think it is?"
Bee smiled and took Magnia's servo, "Allow me...to introduce...my bonded...Magnia."
"Bonded?" Raf grinned. "You have a lot of explaining to do, Bee." He switched his gaze back to Magnia, "Pleased to meet you Mrs.-uh-Bumblebee."
Magnia chuckled, "It is good to meet you as well, Rafael."
"Bee, what happened to your voice?" Raf frowned. "It was fixed before."
"Only...temporary," Bee shrugged. "Here because...docbot...thinks he can...fix."
Ratchet interrupted their conversation by yelling across the room from the Medbay, "Bumblebee are you getting in here or not?"
"Good luck, Bee," Raf gave his leg a comforting pat. "I'm gonna stay out here and talk to Magnia."
Magnia looked surprised but nodded and gave Bumblebee a reassuring kiss before the three mechs headed into the Medbay.
"So…." Raf drummed his fingers on the table. "How's life as Bumblebee's bonded?"
Magnia smiled happily as they sat down, "It's amazing, I don't think I could be happier."
"That's great!" Raf grinned. "You're not a, um, Decepticon anymore, right?"
Magnia laughed, "No. It's been hard because a lot of the Autobots still consider me a Decepticon, but I have Bumblebee and Ravenblade and that's good enough for me."
"Who is Ravenblade?"
"Our sparkling," Magnia sighed happily.
"Sparkling?!" Raf exclaimed. "Bee has so much to tell me!"
In the Medbay, Bumblebee was being prepped for his surgery by Ratchet, while Optimus stood by nervously.
"It's a minor surgery, really," Ratchet said, preparing his equipment. "The cybermatter should repair your vocalizer with a few injections in your neck. If that doesn't work, I will have to open up your neck components and insert the cybermatter manually."
Bee winced and rubbed his neck, "...Yuck."
"So...here we go," Ratchet said gingerly. Bumblebee kept his helm perfectly still as Ratchet inserted the first needle into his neck. There were three more needles after that, during which Bee felt like he was suffocating slowly.
Finally, Ratchet pulled back and examined Bumblebee, "It should take approximately five minutes for your vocalizer to be completely healed, if this works, so don't try to talk just yet."
Bumblebee nodded silently and spent the next five minutes fidgeting in agitation, which started to annoy Ratchet. Optimus spent the entire time staring anxiously at Bumblebee, praying to Primus that it worked.
At last, Ratchet glanced at his internal clock, "Okay Bumblebee, try to say something."
Bumblebee opened his mouth, but then changed his processor. As Optimus and Ratchet stood there, dumbstruck, he raised a digit to his grinning lips in a shushing motion. Before Ratchet could react, Bee sprang off the berth and raced out of the Medbay.
"Bumblebee, get back here!" Ratchet bellowed. "What the frag do you think you're doing? We're in the middle of a surgery!"
Ratchet's yelling alerted Magnia as Bumblebee came racing towards her. Rafael had become distracted and wandered off as little boys often do.
"Bee, whoa, where's the fire?" she cried
"Magnia," he tasted her name on his lips. Optimus and Ratchet slowed to a halt as they heard Bumblebee's voice clearly.
"Bumblebee?" she whispered, awestruck,
He took her servos in his, "Magnia, I love you."
Magnia's optics filled with tears of happiness, and she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, "I love you too, Bumblebee."
A/N: So the amazing story that I worked on for almost two years is finally finished! Tears :'( :'( :'( I literally cried writing this scene. Also, upcoming is a new fanfic about Ironhide and Chromia that takes place in the same like universe (kind of like a sequel). Now, I'm not terribly excited for this one, but I am excited for the two that will follow after it, about Ratchet and Moonracer, and Optimus and my OC Swiftstrike. So stay tuned!
