Paul came running back down the stairs. He seemed frantic and was carrying a few bags. He threw them outside and came running back inside. He picked me up as I was holding the kids. He ran us outside to a spot that was far from the house. Emily was running towards us with Sam a couple feet in front of her.

"Is everything ok? We saw the lightning strike and we got really scared that something bad might've happened." Emily said to me.

Sam had run to help Paul with something inside. I was still trying to catch up mentally as I wasn't sure what happened. I looked at the house for a minute trying to figure out what had happened. I saw smoke coming from the ceiling. I suddenly realized that the lightning struck the house and caught it on fire.

"The house is on fire Emily! And Paul ran back inside! NO!" I screamed.

I wanted to run after Paul. Tell him to get out of the house. I was feeling weak. Emily had to help me to sit down on the ground. She took the kids as I watched after Paul and Sam. Soon enough, more of the pack came to help out. They helped to put the fire out before it got to out of control.

Everyone came out unharmed. They were all a bit covered in soot. It made them all look darker than they actually were. I stood, taking the kids as Sam came over to Emily and they had a small embrace. Paul finally made his way over to me and the kids. It was amazing to see him and how he managed to escape harm.

"Oh Paul! I'm so happy that you're ok! I'm so glad that you were able to get us out before we were harmed." I told him with a smile.

"I know I'm so happy to have gotten you guys away from harm. I couldn't stand the thought of losing my beautiful wife and two beautiful children." Paul said as he hugged us.

He rubbed my back for just a minute before turning to the pack.

"Thank you guys for coming to help me put the fire out. It was the craziest thing to happen." Paul said.

"It's no problem Paul. We were happy to come and help you." Sam said.

"I'm just happy that Brittlyn and the children weren't hurt. I wanted to be here in case she needed me to do something." Emily said.

That's when our son started shaking in my hands. I had to sit him down as he was shifting. Paul had told me long ago about what happened to Emily when she was too close to Sam once when he changed. I also saw what happened to our daughter when our son changed not long after he was born. I wanted to take the precaution just to be sure no one was hurt again.

"I wonder why he is changing. There is no danger here now." I asked to no one in particular.

I looked to see if anyone had an answer. Everyone looked around for a minute. The only one to do anything was Paul. He turned into his wolf form and decided to go for a walk with our son. He wanted to figure out what he was thinking.
