Emily and Sam's wedding was wonderful. They made it look so beautiful for how simple and small it was. Everyone had an amazing time and congratulated the new bride and groom. Since I was Emily's maid of honor and Paul was Sam's best man, we were obligated to stay until the wedding was completely over.
Paul, myself, and the Pack stayed after the wedding to help clean up everything. We made sure to help throw away things that couldn't be used and put away the leftovers to send home with the guests. We mostly sent the leftovers home with the pack members. After that, everyone went home or went on patrol. Luckily, I got to have Paul with me and the kids tonight.
"I had so much fun tonight Paul. I'm so happy that Sam and Emily were able to finally get married." I told him.
"I know what you mean. I'm happy that they got married too. But I'm even happier that we got to be together tonight. Speaking of which, I think you looked better than the bride did." Paul told me.
I giggled. I stopped him in the middle of our walk. I stood on my tippy toes and kissed him like that first day on the beach that he told me everything. As soon as I knew he was distracted by this, I pulled away slowly. I looked to see if his eyes were still closed and they were. So I started to quickly run and giggle because I knew he'd quickly realize what I'd done.
I turned my head to look as I got a few feet away from him. He was just starting to grasp what was going on. I turned my head back around and started running even quicker towards the house. That's where Sue was with the kids.
I kept giggling and running. I had made it to the door thinking I was safe. That's when Paul got to me and grabbed on to me affectionately. He turned me around and started kissing me with that same affection he held me with. I put my arms on the nape of his neck and pressed my lips to his.
I had to stop us before this went too far. We had already kept Sue waiting long enough. I didn't want to keep her waiting any longer with the kids. When we walked in, Sue was sitting there holding Emily Colleen. Our son sat there in his wolf form next to them. We thought that this was kind of strange. When I came over to greet Sue, I could see a terrified look on her face.
I turned to look at Paul. His nose was wrinkled, like he smelled something that smelled awful to him. I look to Sue and our kids again. I walked carefully over to Sue to make sure she wasn't in shock or anything.
"Sue? We are home. Are you guys ok?" I asked the older woman as I sat down on the small table in front of her.
She looked up to me from Emily Colleen. I saw terror in her eyes. "It was awful Brittlyn. I was checking on the kids when all of a sudden there was a knock at the door. There stood Dr. Cullen. I asked him what he needed and all he could tell me was that he needed to talk with the pack. I told him that you guys were busy. So he said to pass the message to Paul when he got back to meet the Cullen's in the clearing." Sue explained to us.
I looked to our son finally understanding why he had turned. I looked to Paul and nodded once for him to go. He nodded back and went to get Sam and the others. He knew what had to be done. Meanwhile, I stayed to calm Sue down.
