Hey everybody! So, sorry this storey gets its chapters updated sporatically, I started in in high school and with college starting and entering the real world, I have been super busy!
Also, I realize that I mention that Will and Marco's sister was named Lia, but, upon deliberation, I found that I no longer think that name fit with her character or with the flow of the story! So, from now on, when refering to their sister, its going to be Mallory Kendra Wagner! Anyways, without frther a due, Here's chapter four!
I Don't Own Avalon High
Will POV
Allie and I must have the worst luck in the entire world, I swear. What were the chances of running into my mother and Lia at the doctor's office. The look that she shot me when she saw me there with Allie was enough to almost make me wet my pants.
Heading back to my house after Allie's appointment, I was thrilled to discover that my father was out of town, and I would only have to face my mother for right now.
"Will, that you?" I heard Marco call out from the kitchen, following the sound of his voice to the back of the house.
"Yeah, Allie and I both," I called out to him, hangiong up mine and Allie's jackets.
Walking through the house, Allie and I still felt a sense of dread. Even though my mom may not be how right now, the storm that was about to hit shores when she came home would be one that could challange the strongest of hurricanes.
"Mom and
"Something funny about them being at the mall?" Marco asked, not understanding what was so funny.
" If 's office is the mall, then not at all," Allie piped up, taking a spot on an island stool.
Marco choked on his glass of lemonade and looked at me with deer in the headlight eyes.
"What do you mean?" Marco asked. I could tell that the idea of Mallory at the gynocologist was just as troubling to him as it is to me.
"Walking out of the first doctor's appointment, we saw them in the lobby as we were walking out with ultrasound photos in our hands," Allie told Marco, who was giving us looks of sympathy.
"Can't wait to hear the storm when it hits the shores," Marco commented, refilling his lemonade and walking out of the kitchen.
"When Mom gets home, I know nothing, and I'm staying in my room," and with that Marco thumped upstairs and with the thud of his door closing, Allie and I were left alone to discuss what we're going to say when Mom and Mallory get home.
Walking into the livingroom, Allie and I plopped down on the stuffed, leather, couch and just flipped on the TV. Allie snuggled into my side and we just sat there, both of us left to our thoughts.
Even though Mom was just known as Jean to me for so long, I was still worried about how she was going to react, and if she was going to tell the Admiral. I was about to be a dead man, if I wasn't when she was through.
It was quiet as Allie and I sat on the couch, her in my arms, both of us just thinking about the storm that was about to hit the shores of my house once Mom got home.
Even though Jean isn't my biological mother, I love her like she had been the one that gave me life. I never want to disappoint her, at all. What kid wants to disappoint their parents? Hopefully if I begged her enough, she won't force me to tell my dad right today. If I the conversation with mom didn't kill me, the one with dad will.
I felt Allie shift next to me and turned to face her, getting stunned by her beauty like I do every time I look at her beautiful face. I could tell that she was thinking just as deep as I was, maybe even thiking hard becaus eher parents didn't know yet.
"Penny for you thoughts, Water Fountain Girl?" I asked Allie, using her first ever nickname that I had given her anll while caressing her sodt skin with my hand, still feeling blessed just to be with her, even given the current situation we have found ourselves in.
Allie sighed and snuggked deeper into my side, putter her arms around my waist.
"Do you think Jean is going to tell my parents?" Allie wondered, sounding nervous her voice trembling just a bit. Were these pregnancy hormones? Was she already becoming more emotional than she's ever been? It was a good question. I think Jean would let us tell Mr. and Mrs. Pennington ourselves, but I couldn't be sure.
"I don't think she'll make us tell them, or tell them instead of us telling them but she might make us tell my dad." I told Allie, who looked as scared as I did about telling my dad.
Allie smiled and took and uneven breath, ytrying to staedy herself from getting emotional with allher hormones.
"My parents already know baout the Order, maybe we should tell your parents,"
I could tell that Allie didn't like the idea at all, but she knew that it was something that was going to have to be done, I sighed just as she had.
"Good luck to us getting my dad to belive us. I mean, unless you could sneak the book oer along with a toy sword-" I was cut off by the front doorbell ringing.
Getting up, Allie and I waslked over to seen, unsurprisingly, Miles standing there, the book in one hand and a toy sword in the other, his face almost emotionless.
Allie smiled opening the door to the house.
"Miles," Allie was still grinning as she grabbed the book from Miles, signaling for me to close the door and grab toe sword from him.
Miles looked around and smiled, patting me on the shoulder as well as Allie, just as he popped his shoes off.
"I would stay down here and keep you guys compnay, but Mallory talked to me on the phone earlier, and I'm not about to be here when Jean gets home, I'm going to be upstairs with Marco. Hope you guys make it out alive," Miles bounded upstairs to see Marco, most likely staying to hear what happened whenn we told my parents. I'm sure if we had told Jen and Lance, they would be here too.
Bringing the book over to the counter, Allie and I found the pages that talked about the prophecy and Allie being pregnant.
"I cannot belive that we are seriously telling them about the order," Allie spoke, looking at the book and rubbing a hand on her stomach where our baby was.. Beeing only four months, almost five montha along, and naturally a smaller stature, you wouldn't be able to tell she was pregnant unless she ws wearing something skin tight or naked. With almost nobody knowing, Allie not really showing is a blessing in disuise.
Another hour or so passed by when we saw Mallory burst through the door, looking at us with wide eyes.
"Marco and Miles?" Mallory asked, looking around the house, desperate to get out of here before my mom got in the house.
"Upstairs, go before she comes in, I told her, talking a deep breath and squeezing Allie's hand, eady to confront my mother.
"WILLIAM ARTHUR WAGNER,"
Yep, Mom was definately home. I could hear her burst through the door from the kitchen to the garage and and my heartbeat automatically went up.
Allie and I were sitting at teh kitchen island and just looked at my mom, who didn't look any less livid than she had the last time we saw her.
"Based upoon the photos that I saw you guys carrying out of the office, I can assume that Allie wasn't there just for a wellness check?" Mmom asked, using the shred of hope that she had left.
Allie and I both shook our heads no and Mom sighed, sitting down and placing her hands in her hands.
"There ae so many different options that you guys could have used. Neither of you are reckless or irresponsible, how could you have just let this happen?"
Looking at my mom, Allie began to speak.
"Jean, this is going to sound bizzare, but my parents can testify everything that I'm about to tell oyu,"
Jean looked at Allie skeptically, but nodded, signaling for Allie to continue talking and telling her story.
" There's, well, a group of people that belive that King Arthur and his knights are reincarnated in generations. Prophecies are made and these people are called 'The Order of the Bear'," Allie paused, "King Arthur, Lancelot, Merlin, Guinevere, The Lady of the Lake, and two Knights have been found. The order and ohrophecies also warn of Mordred, Arthur's hal-brother bent on destroying world happiness. ordred and Arthur have already met and battled once in this generation, but Mordred was taken away, vowing to come back for revenge,"
Jean lookked at Allie, confused and wondering what all of this has to do with the two of us having a baby.
" The factor that proves Arthur has returned has been reincarnated is that any staff on the hands of Arthur becomes excalibur," Allie spoke, signalling for me to hand her the toy sword.
Catching the toy with ease, Allie gripped it, letting the light fill the room and the toy sword to be replaced with gleaming excalibur.
Jean's eyes grew wide, moving from looking at excalibur, to Allie, then back to excalibur.
"And I'm King Arthur," Allie finished, " the ultimate symbol for good,"
I cpuld tell that my mom was still in a state of shock, but what I couldn't tell was wether or not she belived us.
"Mom?" I asked, walking a little to clloser to mom, wanting to make sure she was okay.
Mom swalloed and cleared her throat, taking in a deep breath in and out.
"Is there anymore tjat you hguys have to share with me?"
Allie and I looked at each other, she was taking this all in a lot better than I thought she would have. Allie and I both shook our heads no, continuing to look at her, just as she pulled out a ring on a chain, but it was an Order ring. Mine and Allie's eyes grew wide as she pulled it out.
"Mom?" I questioned, shocked beyond anything, how did she have an order ring? Was she part of the order?"
"I'm not a member,"Mom informed us, "Marco's father was a knight, and he told me all about the Order of the Bear. Before he passed, his father gave me the this to me, and told me all about the prophecies and all, I just never thought that I would have King Arthur and his knights in my family," Mom sounded like she needed to lay down, she balanced her head in her hands and rubbed her temples.
"There was a prophecy about a baby, born to two of the ultimate signs of good, King Arthur and his knight. Apparently the world needs the symbol of hope, and modern medicine and preventions weren't going to be able to stop this. There's magic behind this that we cannot even fathom," Allie told mom, who just nodded along and siged again.
"I cannot say that I'm not disappointed, but we need to focus on how we are going to tell your father," mom told me.
Even though mom knows now, its still a daunting thought, thinking about telling my dad about our a teen dad was never a part of the plan I had for my life, but then again, I never planned on being a Knight of the Roundtable either, and its worked out for me. Even though thinking of twlling my dad about the baby filled me with dread to my core, the feeling of Allie's hand in mine and seeing her smile eased my nerves just a tad.
"We can get through this, you know," Allie spoke, smiling slightly, " especially when we're togther," Its no wonder Allie is King Arthur, her words are truly inspiring.
I smiled at Allie, pulling her close and and her face towards mine.
"I love you so much," I told Allie, pulling her in for a kiss and , placing a hand on her stomach, feeling where our child is.
"I love you too," Allie closed the distance between pur lips and kissed me, our kiss full of passion.
"Thanks for ruining my appetite, I was going to eat dinner, but I'm no longer hungry,"
Looking behind me, Mallory stood in the entryway to the kitchen , rolling her eyes and going back upstairs.
" Enjoy your fun while it lasts, your dad is going to be home soon enough, and I really think we should tell him before he hears it somewhere else," Mom burst my bubble again.
Allie leaned into me and we smiled a little. I was still terrified about telling ym Dad, but with Allie by my side, I can do anything.
