Greetings everyone!
Welcome to the 3rd chapter of "Don't Mess With An Arc", I should note that the creative juices just weren't flowing with this chapter which is why it's so short. I'm sorry if this bothers anyone but unfortunately I'm not all that great at original stories and considering I'm writing four separate stories at once it's no surprise that I'd be burnt out occasionally. Now don't worry I'm not putting the story on hiatus, I'll still continue to write each week but don't be shocked if some chapters are shorter than others due to me lacking in creative juices.
Another thing; I have not decided on making this into an "Arkos" ship, I just wrote the "proposal" because I thought it would be funny. As such any and all other ships are still open for debate.
On a side note, one of my favorite fanfic writers "jauneforever" is writing a Fate-Type Moon story where Jaune is made into one of the 7 servant classes and they asked me if they couldn't use the Jaune/Ozpin from my other story "The Knight and the Wizard" as a Caster! So you guys make sure to check their story out and show them some love!
Next Scheduled Release Date:

Chapter Four
When Jaune was just a little boy still working on his family's farm in the countryside of Sanus, he always had a knack for saying and/or doing the wrong things for the right reasons. If his father needed his help vanquishing a roaming pack Beowolves, he'd obliterate the surrounding area. If his mother needed assistance with the garden, he'd tear up the earth. And if his sisters had a bully problem...well, you get the picture. The point being that Jaune was not a man who used "common sense" and it showed.
Hence, why he was currently on one knee and clasping the strong yet smooth hand of a red-haired amazon, Pyrrha Nikos, while the rest of the applying first-years and subsequent faculty members watched them with various range of emotions. Some watched with mild confusion while others watched with jealousy but most watched the encounter with a sense of romanticism. To them they were watching a scene straight out of fairy tale, where the handsome knight pleaded for his true love to wed him and live happily ever after.
Or at least, that's what should've happened but then the intervention of the headmistress, Glynda Goodwitch, put all stop to the "romantic" scene as she enveloped Jaune in her telekinetic semblance. The light of the room bouncing of her spectacles, preventing everyone from baring witness to the tired angry eyes of Ms. Goodwitch. Slowly, she made her way down the stage's steps and through the parting crowd of first-years. Each step her heels clacked against the floor until she arrived directly in front of the still floating Jaune Arc. But while most of the first-years seemed to cower beneath Goodwitch's glaring eyes, Jaune's face was split in half as smile graced his lips and light chuckles escaped between them.
Jaune was laughing in the face of death, at least metaphorically speaking.
And as her glasses drooped down the bridge of her nose, the pointed middle finger of Goodwitch pushed them back up as she continued to glare at Jaune's floating form.
"Mr. Arc, would you care to explain as to why you thought it was appropriate behavior to not only ignore the headmaster's speech but to cause a distraction for the rest of the applicants by "proposing" a match against Ms. Nikos?" she asked but the underlining tone made it anything but a request.
"She said she was a champion of a tournament, that means she's fought tons of really strong opponents!" he exclaimed, smiling at the imagine he had in his head of a very sweaty Pyrrha fighting off wave after wave of varying opponents. "And that means if she's really strong then she and I can fight and I won't have to hold back!" he released with a shout just as Goodwitch's semblance deactivated, dropping Jaune to the floor with a thud as she released a heavy sigh of annoyance.
"Mr. Arc, while I understand your enthusiasm, you must take the feelings of others into consideration before your own." she advised, causing Jaune to look around and see the amount of annoyance he had caused for others, indirectly bringing up various memories of Jaune's youth. The reminder was enough to cause Jaune some embarrassment as he scratched the back of his head before standing and bowing before everyone.
"I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused everyone!" he said, repeating the same line he'd said numerous times during his childhood before turning to bow at Pyrrha. "And I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused you, Pyrrha." he said as Pyrrha's blushing cheeks receded before a kind smile graced her lips.
"It's alright, Jaune, you've caused no such trouble for me. And yes, I would be delighted to face you in combat." said Pyrrha, placing her right fist over her left breast before bowing.
The two smiled at one another while Goodwitch watched on with a ghost smile, that is until the slight cough of Beacon's own headmaster, drew in everyone's attention back towards the stage. His smile kept hidden by his mug of coffee before lowering it to speak into the microphone. "I'm glad that misunderstanding has been dealt with. Thank you for your assistance, Ms. Goodwitch and as for you, Mr. Arc, I am sure you will have plenty of strong rivals to face against in the coming years. Provided you pass initiation with your fellow classmates" Ozpin announced, causing an uproar of murmurs from the first-years and drawing the ire of Ms. Goodwitch as she made her way back to the stage to face her employer.
"Professor Ozpin, are you sure this is such a good idea?" asked Ms. Goodwitch, her eyes drifting to see the innocent smile of Jaune Arc. "While there's no doubt in my mind the amount of power Jaune contains...He's never shown any control...Not since-"
"I am quite aware of the consequences, Ms. Goodwitch. But be that as it may, it would allow us to grasp whether or not Jaune's power can be controlled. Besides, I believe this could be a valuable lesson for the boy." said Professor Ozpin, his brown eyes keeping a watchful eye on Jaune and the four women around him. And as Ozpin gazed into the brilliant, determined eyes of Jaune, Ozpin couldn't help but remember the day he first witnessed the amount of power that coursed through the young boy.
...12 Years Earlier...
It was an early autumn day when Ozpin had received a message on his personal scroll. The message had arrived the previous night when Ozpin has twiddling away at his desk. The message was from an old companion, Orville Arc and it read as urgent, stating; "Ozpin, I require your assistance immediately." - Orville." At first, Ozpin had no idea as to what kind of assistance his old companion would require but seeing as it was very rare for Orville to ask for assistance from just anyone, this was due to his stubborn nature, Ozpin had a gut feeling that Orville was faced with an opponent beyond even his capabilities.
So the very next morning, after leaving his academic duties to his subordinates, Ozpin and Glynda boarded the next airship out to Orville's home, fully prepared for anything that he might encounter. But the very moment he arrived, he took notice of Orville's predicament and exactly the kind of trouble his companion was in. There, standing in the middle of the field, was a little boy with messy blonde hair and brilliant blue eyes. Instantly, Ozpin could tell that this boy was Orville's son, Jaune, but soon enough Ozpin bore witness as the young took a stance Ozpin had only seen once in his life. His eyes widened as he began to run towards the boy, prepared to halt his progress but before he could get any closer, the sudden appearance of Orville stopped his movements and prevented him from reaching Jaune's location. Ozpin demanded for Orville to explain himself but the man remained silent as he kept his watchful eye on Jaune's form.
A wave of raw, untamed Aura filled the surrounding area and every instinct that Ozpin had was practically screaming at him to run. This boy had this much untapped potential within himself and here he was invoking an ancient technique only known the ancestors of the Arcs. But then the sudden surge of power that filled the area began to condense around the young Arc until his body was covered by a very visible sheen of pure Aura. And then came the slaughter as a massive Deathstalker broke through the treeline, the wear and tear on it's exoskeleton proved it's age and the number of fallen victims and as of that moment it was high tailing itself towards the little boy.
Ozpin tried one last time to shake himself out of Orville's grip, only managing to escape thanks to his experience and Glynda's assistance. He ran when great sped as he enhanced his leg muscles with his Aura. But the Deathstalker had an extended lead on him as it neared Jaune and flashes of a smiling girl before shifting into a casket filled his mind, the shock causing him to extend his arm in desperation towards the boy as the Deathstalker reached him, raising it's stinger to pierce the boy's body.
But just as the stinger had reached it's point of impact, the tiny hands of Jaune clasped the stinger with a mighty grip as some of the Deathstalker's acidic juices spewed forth, sliding down Jaune's arms harmlessly. The massive Grimm released a pain-filled screech as Jaune, with his enhanced strength, tugged on the stinger in a spinning motion until the Deathstalker was effortlessly lifted from the ground. Ozpin and Glynda watched with shocked expressions as the little boy spun like a top, pulling the Deathstalker along for the ride as it's screeches filled the area and for once in his life, Ozpin honestly felt remorse for the creature of Grimm.
But moment didn't last as the G-force from Jaune's accelerated speeds tore the connection between the stinger and the Deathstalker's tail, separating the Grimm from Jaune's hold as it's body sailed through the sky and off into the horizon. The immense surge of power that seeped from Jaune receded back within as the look of shock and amazement remained on Ozpin and Glynda's faces while Orville smiled at the sight.
"So, you think you can help me out?" he asked as Glynda fainted from the experience and Ozpin was, again, reminded of the devastating power an Arc held.
...The Next Day...
The night had passed without much trouble for Jaune Arc and his friends as they gathered their weapons, gear, and resolve before making their way towards Beacon Cliff, which is the literal edge of Beacon Academy's perimeter that stood atop a massive collection of emerald green trees and grasslands known as the Emerald Forest. There they stood atop the cliff with their weapons in hand, prepared to begin their test while the Headmaster and Headmistress stood just in front of them all.
"For years, you all have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." announced Ozpin, taking a sip of his coffee and giving Glynda an opportunity to say her piece.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates...TODAY." said Glynda in her "no nonsense tone of voice" while the sound of whinning became evident in Jaune's ears, causing him to turn and see the defeated look of his favorite red-hooded gothic lolita. Finished, Glynda stepped back in time for Ozpin to take her place in the introduction.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So, it is paramount that you be paired with someone with whom you can work well with." said Ozpin, hiding his trolling smile behind his mug as he watched Ruby groan in defeat. "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." said Ozpin, smiling a the sound of an innocent girl's world view shattering like glass around her. "After you've partnered up, you and your partner will make you way north to the end of the valley. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path...Or you and your partner will die." said Ozpin, his eyes watching Jaune's own as they widened before he began absentmindedly counting with his fingers. "You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" asked Ozpin, his brown eyes watching as no student raised their hand until they landed upon the overly powerful Jaune Arc, who held his arm up like a boy in kindergarten, trying to get the teacher's attention. "Yes, Mr. Arc?" he asked, seeing Jaune's arm go back down.
"Yeah, about these "oppositions" we're gonna be fighting against. Would you rate them as a 1 on the danger level or a 10 on the danger level?" asked Jaune, earned several weird looks from his peers while Ozpin kept his smile hidden from view.
"I'll put it simply, Mr. Arc." said Ozpin as he lowered his mug to reveal a proud smirk. "Go wild."
And soon enough the students were launched from their pads into the forest of emerald, flying through the air to meet their partners, face their enemies, and make their names history and for Jaune, this was the his first leap into the life of a Huntsman and the beginning of his adventures at Beacon Academy.
