The crater had long since ceased billowing the thick black smoke that had attracted all this attention, the fires had burned out as they had burned everything there was to burn, all that was left was a massive hole in the earth, scorch marks stretching all the way up the sides.

Lulu, Evan, Japas and Tijo looked down into the crater, doing their best to seem unshaken by it's immensity.

"I can't even see the bottom, man." Japas remarked.

"Whoever did this...they wanted Clock Town more then gone, they wanted it and it's foundations destroyed." Lulu said in horror.

"We know who did this." Evan said, his other bandmates as well as Terminian Zora leaders turned to him, the rest of their people who had come along doing the same. "Ganondorf...this city had so much history, if you went deep enough you could still find parts of the original Clock Town...but it's all gone now because of him."

"Mikau wasn't there...right?" Tijo asked.

The Zora exchanged solemn glances as they looked to their leaders, expecting answers.

"He wanted to fight, and this does look like where the fight happened." Lulu answered.

"There's someone coming!" a Zora guard called out.

Evan, Lulu, Japas and Tijo stepped behind a line of guards, harpoon wielding Zora warriors surrounding the civilians.

"Lower you weapons!" Evan called as the newcomers came into view. From the North, the Terminian and Hyrulean Gorons came and from the south, the entire Deku Kingdom.

"We all saw it, but we didn't believe it, brother." Darmani said as he approached Evan.

"I didn't either, until I came myself." Evan replied, looking over his shoulder as the Deku King flew over to them.

"Some of my own people were in there." he added.

"Some of all of our people were in there." a commanding voice called, everyone turning to find Captain Shekilah of the Gerudo pirates striding out of the forest, the Hyrulean Gerudo with her.

"The question is, what will you all do about this?" Sandrine asked as she joined Shekilah in the front.

"They chased us out of our home, and now they killed everyone in this city because they wouldn't let them have it." Cheif Darbrakus growled.

"To the Deku, this is an act of war." the King said.

"Evan, Lulu, Japas and Tijo looked out over the four assembled races.

"What a strange bunch we are, Zora, Goron, Deku and Gerudo." Lulu stated.

"In another era, we may have been enemies." Captain Shekilah said.

"But in this era, we make a decent army." Evan replied.

"So when Viscen brought me out here...I kind of lied to him." Erris said.

Link turned towards Erris as the harsh desert winds blew passed him, squinting as it tossed sand against his face. "Lied how?"

Erris turned towards the enormous stone door, old Hylian covering it from top to bottom. "I told him there was a seal on the door that could only be unlocked by one who holds part of the Triforce."

"And what actually unlocks it?" Link asked.

"You." Erris answered.

Link looked at Erris curiously, saying nothing.

"It specifically calls for you, Zelda or Ganondorf, apparently the three of you are some holy trinity that dates back-" Erris began before being cut off.

"One-thousand years." Link said. "That was the age when I was dubbed the 'Hero of Time' as well as it was the age our roles were finally set in stone."

"Well, I'm glad one of us gets it." Erris replied.

"Well, it is written on the door." Link said.

"Doesn't matter either way, no matter what, I couldn't open it, so I told them so, I just lied about the reason so they'd leave me alone." Erris said.

"Fine by me, now let's get to it." Link said.

Erris nodded and took a step back as the Hero placed a hand on the door. For a moment nothing happened when suddenly the wind picked up, the ground around them shaking as all the symbols on the door began glowing, a white energy winding it's way around them and towards Link's hand. The Hero felt his palm somehow become secured to the door, a light burning sensation flowing into it as the energy made contact with it, filling has veins and spreading through his body.

Erris looked on as Link cried out, his eyes flashing a blinding white before the energy dissipated.

Link let his hand fall away from the door before turning to glare at Erris. "What was that? The door isn't even-"

As if on queue, a loud grinding pierced the air, the stone slab rising to reveal a dark passage that lead deep into the temple's interior.

"This feels...strange." Link said.

"How so?" Erris asked.

"First of all, I'm usually wearing a green tunic while I do this." Link remarked.

"I was beginning to wonder if that was just some historical fiction." Erris replied.

"Trust me, I'm glad I've finally been able to go without it." Link responded. "Aside from that, this is the only dungeon I've encountered so far, sure I suppose you could call our adventure into the lost woods to get the Master Sword something similar to that, but this is honestly the only one I've faced in this life."

"Trust me, I was at Ganondorf's side through most of this, dungeons weren't on his mind in this era." Erris said.

"Or maybe he just needed the one." Link replied as he began to head in.

"Before you go." Erris began. "Do you recall the Son of the Horror?"

The creature that attacked Castle Town about a year ago?" Link asked.

"Yeah...the thing that was the 'son' of...it lives in there." Erris said.

"Well, looks like I'll finally get to punish it for it's bad parenting." Link replied wryly.

"That's it, no apprehension?" Erris asked.

"Have you forgotten who I am?" Link asked

"You're the mortal incarnation of a God who was chosen by the Goddesses to hold the Triforce of Courage and combat evil whenever it rears it's head, I know." Erris answered.

"Exactly, I've been doing this as myself for two-thousand years and apparently even longer if you factor in the time I spent as the Fierce Deity, the likes of which I do not recall, so no, I do not feel any apprehension, fear or dread, only eagerness, eagerness to get through this and get Zelda back, her and her family." Link answered.

"Best of luck raiding this dungeon." Erris said as he turned away.

"Best of luck retaking your Kingdom." Link said.

The two locked eyes, nodding at each other one last time before the Dungeon's gate came down between them.

Cia tried to resist the shivers that crept up on her, but she couldn't help it as she traversed the darkness-drenched halls of her home. It was the fact that even though it was identical in every single way to the Temple of Souls she'd lived in for centuries, she knew it wasn't. It wasn't unusual for her home to be bathed in shadow, but a darkness this intense, so all encompassing that the light she cast from her staff only lit of a meter of what was in front of her was what frightened her...no matter what spell she cast, no matter how many orbs of light or balls of flame she tossed into the blackness, nothing disrupted the void that surrounded her, as though the darkness itself was sentient and only would allow her to see what was directly in front of her.

The Sorceress breathed in sharply, cupping a hand over her mouth as she heard it again, a faint heartbeat could be heard in the distance. She did her best to inch closer to it, walking slowly as she couldn't see what lye beyond the short distance her light could penetrate. She couldn't tell how long it took her to reach the door she now stood in front of. She didn't realize it until recently, but this strange copy of her home seemingly had no windows.

Cia composed herself, the heartbeat was so loud that even if she spoke at full volume, she knew she wouldn't be able to hear her own words. She slowly grasped the door knob, turning it slowly and pushing it in. She immediately stumbled back, letting out a stunned gasp before settling her light on what appeared to be a Ram, the creature standing with it's rear to her.

"What...?" she breathed as she slowly walked towards it, for some reason she couldn't explain her dread intensified, the heartbeat seemed to come from all around the Ram as it stood with it's back to her when suddenly it turned to face her, it's face was that of a man with skin of iron...it was almost as if...it were a mask.

Cia shot upright, her white air flying forward as she gripped the sheets tightly.

Trystane stirred next to her, looking up at the Sorceress groggily. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"It was...just a dream." Cia said as she slowly lowered herself back into the bed.

"Nothing about us, I hope." Trystane replied.

"No, definitely not." Cia replied as she rested her head on the Knight's shoulder. Ever since their journey from Gamelon to Hyrule and Trystane's sacrifice of his life for her's, the two had become close, closer than they'd admitted to the rest of the group.

"Worried about Erris?" Trystane asked.

Cia gave a smirk as she rose from the bed, her bare silhouette visible momentarily before she summoned a robe to cover herself. "Of course, but he can handle himself, this I know. I'm just glad you're not too perturbed by my being his mother to share a bed with me."

"Well, I do try not to think about him when we're in the act." Trystane replied as he left the bed and approached the Sorceress, wrapping his arms around her.

Cia rested her head against his chest as she stared into the mirror when the contents of her dream came rushing back to her.

Trystane saw her eyes go wide in the mirror before she pushed her way of out his arms and towards the door, wrenching it open and looking down the hallway.

"Cia, what is it, what's wrong?" Trystane asked.

"A prophetic dream, I used to have them often...but it's been a long time, I'd almost forgotten about it." she answered.

"What did you see?" the Knight asked.

"I was here, but everything was dark, covered in shadows that even the strongest of light magic couldn't penetrate...but this is my home, I knew where I was going...I ended up at Link's chambers." Cia began.

"Link's Chambers?" Trystane asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

"No, no, no!" Not like that." Cia retorted. "I opened the door and there was a Ram inside of the room...but it wasn't a normal Ram, it had a human face...Trystane...it wasn't wearing Oreck's Goht mask...it was the mask."

oOo

Din had taken to joining the Gerudo in their Chambers, other than the fact they resembled her, they also worshipped her as the Goddess of Sand whilst respecting her enough to give her space and not constantly ask things of her or act like frightened animals in her presence.

"Still awake?" Naora asked.

"I don't require sleep." Din replied.

"Something's bothering you, I can tell." Naora pointed out.

"Many things are bothering me, including, but not limited to the fact that my sisters are dead, I'm being forced to live in a mortal body on the mortal plain and earlier was made to do simple magic tricks to convince a bunch of Foreign Sailors that I was indeed a Goddess so they'd ally with us against Demise." she explained with a grimace.

"Kind of makes you feel like destroying this world and starting over." Naora said.

"That wouldn't make me any different from Demise, Majora or Mahlik." Din replied.

"Back when I was still with Ganondorf...I fell for the delusion that he would make the three of us Gods so we could rule over this world and make it a better place." Naora answered.

"Can you read or did history books not pique your interest?" Din asked pointedly.

"History is written by the victors." Noara began. "I thought that Ganondorf's deeds had been greatly exaggerated to demonize him...I just couldn't see the Kai I once loved being that kind of monster."

"Well he is...and do you know what the worst part is?" Din asked.

Naora cocked her head to side and raised an eyebrow. "What would that be?"

"I created him...I tell everyone he stole the Triforce of Power, but I chose him to have it as Farore chose Link and Nayru chose Zelda...I gave it to him." the Goddess answered.

Naora took on a stunned expression, struggling to keep her voice down to avoid waking up the other Gerudo. "What? Why would you do this if you knew who he was?"

"I thought it would help the portion of him that was mortal win, I thought it may amplify the good in him and his humanity would finally kill off Demise's demonic influence. Besides, Ganondorf embodies power, even if I hate to admit it. Whenever he sets his sights on something, he's always able to take it, even if it is only for a brief amount of time." Din explained.

"So you gave him this on purpose?" Naora pressed.

"He was supposed to join Link and Zelda, not fight them." Din began. "This wasn't what he was supposed to become."

"Why haven't you told anyone?" Naora asked.

"Would you?" Din retorted.

"I was to be his wife...I own up to the fact that I followed along with many of his plans." Naora replied.

"It's not the same, I gave him the power he used to cause pain and destruction, the power he abused to return from death and escape from imprisonment time after time." Din said, looking off towards the wall.

Naora made to answer, her attention being turned towards the ceiling as a faint vibrating sound emanated from it. "What is that?"

"Let's find out." Din said as she grabbed Naora's shoulder and teleported both of them to the next floor.

oOo

Cia readied her staff as Trystane reached for the door handle, the door itself rattling from whatever was going on inside.

"Ready whenever you are." Cia said.

Trystane turned to the Sorceress, nodding before gripping the handle. The two braced themselves as he threw it open, their eyes going wide as they saw the Goht Mask hanging in mid-air, energy swirling around it, tearing the room apart.

"What's going on here?" Din called out as she and Naora arrived on scene.

"It's the mask Link took off of Oreck, it's become active under it's own power!" Cia replied.

"I'll handle this." Din said, scowling as she walked towards it. "Damn Demon spawn." she growled as she raised her arm and shot a bolt of energy at it.

The Mask buckled with the hit, but the damage from the blast only amounted to a scuff. Suddenly the Mask lurched forward and shot a crimson bolt of lightning into the Goddess, knocking her to the ground.

Trystane and Cia exchanged glances, the Knight blasting the Mask with a flurry of ice as Cia shot blades of Darkness out of her staff, only for the two to be knocked back by a shockwave from the mask.

Naora was the only one left standing, she recognized these powers. "Ganondorf." she said.

Trystane, Cia and Din got back to their feet as a maniacal laugh emanated from the mask.

"The Hero is as much of a fool as ever, Goht was part of Majora, I could easily track it here and see what it sees...good job warding your home, Sorceress, without this Mask it would have taken me much longer to find out where all of you were hiding." Ganondorf said.

"Come face us in person, coward." Din hissed.

"Only if you manage to survive what's coming next." Ganon said before his voice faded out."

"What's going to happen?" Cia asked.

Before anyone could reply, the Goht Mask grew immensely, smashing through the floor underneath, the roof above and walls around it.

Din summoned her powers, slowing time just enough to afford her the chance to teleport outside, taking everyone with her.

oOo

"It's okay, you're going to be fine!" Saria half-heartedly assured the stunned Kokiri, Kyra following close behind her.

"How did we get out here?" seemed to be the popular question among most Kokiri, Saria included.

"You, small one." a Gerudo woman asked, pointing her blade at Saria. "What's going on here?"

"I'm not sure." the Kokiri girl began. "Pointing that at me won't help me find the answer."

"Our Elder Aveil cannot afford to be moved like this, who is responsible?" another Gerudo Guard asked.

"That would be me." Din said as she teleported back, the Knights of Hytopia, Kali, Orvik and Edward with her.

The Gerudo women bowed, looking up at Din. "Great Goddess of Sand, we apolog-"

"No time for that, Ganondorf has sent his forces to our location, who among you can fight?" Din asked.

"Is our son on his way here?" Orvik asked.

"No, just more of his monsters." Din answered.

"He couldn't have sent his forces through the Valley of Seers, no one can make it through there on foot." Cia said.

"What about through the air?" Volga asked.

"Argoroks?" Vashara asked.

"No, worse...I can sense them coming...Dragons." Volga said.

Just then, half of the Temple of Souls exploded outward, pieces of debris falling everywhere as the fully formed Goht smashed through the walls. In the distance, screeches could be heard as a pack of Dragons swooped down out of the clouds.

"Here we go." Cia called out.

"You there!" Ralo called to Edward. "Do you have any of those long range weapons you were working on?"

"Yes." Edward began. "In there!" he said, pointing at the ruined portion of the Temple.

"Saria, take the Kokiri and Kyra deeper into Gardens, we'll come find you once this is over." Cia said.

"All of you, get my mother out of here." Naora ordered.

"You are not our Chief." one of the Gerudo women argued.

"Do what she says!" Din commanded, the woman bowing to Naora begrudgingly before following Saria and the Kokiri.

"We can fight too!" Kali interjected.

"We need to survive this, so we can face our son, let's go." Orvik said, Kali following hesitantly.

"I almost forgot how stubborn our Sisters could be." Vashara remarked.

"What do you all expect me to do here?" Marin asked.

Din placed a hand on Marin's back before glancing over at her. "I gave your abilities back, but with a slight improvement...but only because we need as many capable hands as we can get."

The group spread out as Goht squared off with them, the Dragons almost upon them.

"Goht is mine, the rest of you take the Dragons." Din said.

"By yourself?" Traegen asked.

Din paid no mind to the Goron as she launched herself at Goht. The massive creature sent a bolt of electricity at her, the Goddess deflecting the attack back into the space between Goht's eyes before delivering a kick that sent the monster flying back.

Volga took on his Dragon form, flying to intercept the pack as they made their way to the group. They attempted to converge on him, Volga weaving around their bites and jets of flame, hitting one to his left with a torrent of fire before clamping his jaws on it's neck and dragging it to the ground, turning back into his human form and spearing it through the heart.

Cia extended her staff, opening the Gate of Souls in front of the nearest Dragon, the creature flying through, Cia opening the other end directly in front of the ground, the Dragon crashing into it and rolling to a stop before Cia struck it with a bolt of energy that tore straight through it.

Traegen extended his arms, shards of rock tearing from the ground and flying into the dragons, managing to take down two of the three that flew towards him. He sent another barrage at the remaining one, the Dragon batting the shards away with it's wings before charging at him.

Marin knew she had to do something, even as she was working with Semira, she still valued the Knights as her teammates. She ran towards Traegen, taking on her Seagull form only to find that the world seemed to shrink around her, stopping her in her tracks for a moment. She looked like a Kargorok, but larger, she couldn't help but think of the mythical creature, smiling internally. "Just call me the Helmaroc Queen." she thought as she flew at the Dragon.

Traegen flinched readying himself when out of no where a massive bird flew into the Dragon, knocking it to the ground and tearing through it's neck with her massive beak before returning to her human form.

"Are you alright?" Marin asked.

"Yeah, I didn't think I'd be so happy to see you again." the Goron remarked.

Marin rolled her eyes before returning to her Helmaroc Queen form, heading towards the remaining Dragons.

Ralo grabbed Trystane, teleporting them into midair, Ralo leaping atop a Dragon and driving his blade into it's head as Trystane froze the one next to it solid, leaping off of it as Ralo caught him, the two teleporting to the next dragon as the two they dispatched crashed to the ground, Trystane's shattering like glass.

"Have to admit, I admire your handiwork sometimes." Ralo said as he and Trystane dropped onto another Dragon's back.

Trystane placed his palm on the Dragon's back, an icicle shooting straight through it. Ralo made to teleport them away when a blast of flame knocked him from atop the deceased Dragon.

"Ralo!" Trystane called out. His fellow Knight reached out for him, only to be caught in the jaws of another Dragon, Trystane watching in horror. He looked to the ground, flinching as it became closer when suddenly a purple glow greeted him, the Knight finding himself on the ground.

"You need to be more careful." Cia said.

Trystane didn't answer, only watching as Volga was tackled out of the sky by another Dragon. "I thought we were going to win this." he breathed.

"We still can." Cia answered.

Elgon shot a beam of light, slicing through a Dragon before side-stepping another's blast of flame, The 'Happy Mask Salesman' positioning himself in front of it wearing the Bomb Mask, waiting until the creature was within reach before detonating it.

"That's two down." Elgon said.

"And too many more to go." the 'Salesman' replied.

Impa ran across one of the Temple's intact walls, four Dragons following her, their breaths of flame colliding, bursting into massive fireballs that grazed her back as she ran. "Now!" she called.

Aren and Iren leapt onto the two nearest Dragons, slashing their throats, only to be thrown off.

Oren lunged forward, ducking the Dragon's claws and plunging his great sword into it's stomach, it's momentum doing the rest.

Lemuria flipped from on the support beams that remained from the shattered walls, the Dragon nearest her landing and shooting a jet of flame her way, the Sheikah woman back-flipping over it and tossing a throwing knife threw it's right eye, killing it.

Trokon cast his chain whip towards the Dragon Aren tried to kill, catching it around the neck, slowing it down sufficiently enough for Ara to toss a volley of poisoned darts into it's underbelly.

"Chu Jelly?" Impa asked.

"Exactly." Ara answered with a grin as the beast fell over.

Just then, the fourth dragon swooped over them, all seven Sheikah looking up as it shot a blast of flame at Iren, engulfing the Sheikah man.

"Iren, no!" Aren screamed as the Dragon knocked him off the top of the wall, setting it's sights on the rest of the Sheikah.

Impa placed her hands on the ground, the Shadows stretching towards and enveloping the beast. The Dragon frantically swung it's tail and shot blasts of flame in every directing before Impa unsheathed her Great Sword, running at the beast and stabbing it through the chest.

"We have to go help the others." Trokon called out.

"Aren, we can mourn later." Lemuria said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Aren fought against himself for a second before nodding and following the rest, giving one last glance to where Iren fell.

Aquos darted quickly from one area to the next, Vashara's enhanced sight allowing her to keep track of his movements.

"Just a little further." the Gerudo woman said.

Aquos stopped three meters from her, allowing the Dragon to close in on him before dashing out of the way, Vashara landing her spear directly underneath it's ear, the beast falling over.

Naora held up a shield of spirit energy, as two dragons pelted her with flame, the Gerudo woman struggling against the two streams when an enormous rock landed on and crushed one of the dragons. Naora dropped the shield and fired a bolt of spirit energy at the remaining one, the beast escaping into the sky.

"I suppose I should thank you." Naora said, regarding Traegen.

"My pleasure." Traegen said, his eyes shooting upwards as he saw it.

Naora turned around, the Dragon had turned back towards them.

Traegen raised a shield of stone around Naora, the beast smashing through it, sending Naora flying and the Goron Knight onto his side.

"Watch out!" Naora yelled.

Traegen looked up in time to see the Dragon jab it's tail straight through his chest.

Naora ground her teeth, shaking as the beast tossed the Goron away like he was nothing, setting it's sights on her. The Gerudo woman cried out, charging at the beast, her rage fueling her powers. The Dragon shot a jet of flame at her, the Gerudo woman deflecting it with her scimitar, before jumping and landing on one foot, pivoting into a spin, a blade of spirit energy shooting from her sword and slicing the beast down the middle. "Damn you." she spat. "...I'm sorry, Traegen."

"Everyone, fall back, they're heading for the South Gardens!" Cia called, the group gathered in front of the entrance, being the only line of defense between the Kokiri, Gerudo, Kyra...and Edward.

"Damn, there's still fifteen of them at least." Aquos said.

Volga snarled in his dragon form, blood seeping from open wounds, as Marin landed next to him, transforming back into her human form, cradling a broken arm.

"Our two biggest advantages are injured." Impa said.

"And the rest of us have exhausted ourselves, but we have to fight." Cia urged.

The Dragons assembled in front of the group, flame building up in their jaws as they positioned themselves to dive at them. Suddenly a large shadow was cast over the beasts, the Dragons attempting to get out of the way as Goht dropped right on top of them.

"Sorry I'm late." Din said as she telekinetically gripped the masked monster, raising it into the air. "This thing was more trouble than it's worth." she continued as she shot her other arm out, letting out a cry as Goht burst in a burst of flame. Din lowered herself to the ground, walking over to it's remains, picking up the mask and scowling at it. "That's enough from you." Din said, incinerating the mask.

"What now?" Naora asked.

"Well, we can't stay here." Cia responded.

"Then where will we go?" Elgon replied,

"I have some friends in Ikana that owe me a debt." Cia answered

oOo

Link came to a halt before the next hall, so far he'd faced miniature human skeletons wielding spears, Skulltulas and Fire Keese, but not traps.

"Here it is." Link muttered as he felt for the key in his pack. The Hero extended his foot, pressing down on a slightly raised brick in front of him. Spikes tore from the floor and arrows shot out of the walls, Link extending his arm and catching one such arrow with relative ease. He held the tip close to his face, watching as a purple liquid dripped from it. "Chu Jelly." Link mused to himself. He strode forward as the spikes sank back into the floor, he peered into the alcoves the arrows had come from, finding violet colored Chu-Chu's restrained within them, the arrows being thin enough to shoot through them without killing them, but large enough to gather some of their toxic biological makeup on their heads as they passed through.

Link took out his blade, stabbing it through the Chu-Chu on the right, killing it before doing the same with the other. With the two creatures out of the way, Link examined the machines behind them, they seemed more advanced than your usual automatic tripwire type crossbows. The Hero was roused from his thoughts as he heard a fast clicking sound. "They're reloading." he realized. Link sprinted towards the other end of the hall, leaping to the door that sealed it off from the next room, barely avoiding the next volley of arrows.

"That's new." Link said between breathes as he unlocked the chamber. The Hero swiftly composed himself as he entered the room. Complete darkness greeted him, and aside from that, the smell of death permeated the air, but it wasn't like corpses, he had dealt with those before, this stench moved, it had an awareness to it. "ReDeads." Link thought.

With one quick motion Link took out his bow, reciting an incantation, the head of the arrow lighting aflame. His eyes went wide as it illuminated what must have been a dozen ReDeads slowly stalking towards him, their gaits speeding up now that they could see their prey. "Damn these things!" Link said as he scanned the room. Far above him along the wall, he spotted a stone trough that spanned the entirety of the walls. The Hero loosed his arrow, the flaming head landing in the trough and igniting the oil and charcoal within it. He couldn't but stare as the trough of flame cast a bright orange glow over the entire room. The ReDead's around him seemed to stop, their heads turning towards a the center of the chamber.

"Well, I assume you're the boss." Link said, his voice wavering slightly.

With the room lit, Link could see that he was standing on a raised ledge that traced the chamber's edges, one set of stairs leading down to the lower level with one set of stairs on the other side, between them laid a pit, four enormous narrow, triangular monoliths standing around it. To each monolith, a chain was attached, each one binding the limb of a ten meter tall Redead, the top of the pit only coming up it's knees. Link observed the large black gash that spread across the thing's chest, watching in horror as a tar-like liquid spilled out of it, three ReDeads emerging from it.

Link acted quickly, charging at the ReDeads closest to him before they could unleash their paralyzing screams. He dodged to side as one tried to pounce on him, cleaving it's head in two before performing a jump attack on the next before it could react, splitting it down the middle. For the next he pulled his bow out, nocking an arrow and casting a light spell over it, one shot causing the ReDead to fall and shrivel up. As the rest closed in on him Link shot three more light infused arrows until they were too close for comfort.

The Hero let out a cry as he sprinted into them, blocking their attacks with his shield before tossing it into the chest of an oncoming ReDead. Link dropped into his fighting stance, extending his sword behind him and unleashing a spin attack, shredding each and every Redead in the vicinity. As soon as they had been dealt with, he retrieved his shield and ran to the corner of the ledge, retrieving a clay pot, something dungeons seemed to have a never-ending supply of. He ran to the staircase, tossing the pot into the face of the first ReDead climbing it, the impact knocking the creature off it's feet and sending it rolling down the staircase, taking out the other two behind it. Link drew his bow and knocked two arrows, casting a flame spell over them and launching both into the entangled creatures, watching them burn away.

Link looked up at the massive Redead, it's force contorting into a pained expression before it let out a shriek. Link felt his body seize up, every muscle feeling as if it turned to stone, but it didn't end there, he flinched as the sheer force released along with the scream sent him crashing into the wall behind him. "What the hell is this thing?" Link groaned as the effects of the shriek wore off. Right as he got back to his feet, he saw it tumble from the gash on the giant ReDead's chest.

It was another creature just like the 'Son of the Horror' just without it's armor and Scythe. It leapt from the floor all the way up the ledge, Link standing to meet it. He quickly drew his bow, sending a both a light infused and a flaming arrow at it, trying to see which was most effective. The newborn 'Son of the Horror' knocked both away with it's spindly arm, unleashing a shriek as it extended both claws and ran towards Link. The Hero dodged, moving as the creature's claws tore through his armor and narrowly missed his skin underneath. As he drew his sword, the creature opened it's mouth wide, the same tentacle from before lurching forth, dripping a black liquid.

"Demon's blood, that's what the one before you used to turn our own Guards against us." Link said.

He could have sworn the creature smirked as leapt at him, Link spinning around it and slicing off it's left arm as he went, the Son of the Horror roaring in pain as it turned back to him. It retracted it's tentacle and made to let out a shriek, Link bringing forth his bow and loosing an ice arrow into it's mouth, the Son of the Horror thrashing around while grabbing at the chunk of ice that filled it's maw. Link took advantage of this, sprinting at the creature and performing a horizontal slash, the Son of the Horror stumbling back to avoid it, but was too slow, ending up with a deep slash across it's chest. Link glanced at it's 'mother' as the Son of the Horror fell over, it seemed to be watching their battle very closely.

Link's attention was brought back to the Son as it was able to knock the chunk of ice loose with it's tentacle, the appendage retracting as it made to release another scream. He thought fast, withdrawing a bomb from his bag and tossing it a meter and a half away from him. The Son of the Horror, momentarily stunned by the blast, stalked through the cloud of dust, it's tentacle sliding from it's mouth as it found Link, frozen on the spot just outside of the cloud. It raised the tentacle above it's head, sending it towards Link when suddenly he lurched to the right, slashing the tentacle in half.

The Son of the Horror fell to it's knees, placing it's remaining hand on the ground as the remnants of the tentacle retracted back into the creature's throat, black blood spewing forth as it heaved.

"The sound of a bomb blast is more than enough to drown out your scream." Link said as he raised his sword, hacking the creature's head in two before cutting it's torso in half, effectively killing it. This encounter was far easier than the last, it weighed heavy on Link's mind that these things were intelligent enough to don armor, and be trained to wield weapons. "Oh well." Link began. "At least I found the source." he said, looking up to meet the massive ReDead's eyes.

As soon as it met his gaze it let loose it's scream, paralyzing Link and sending him flying into the wall again. He looked up to find the monster thrashing around in it's chains, eventually shattering the monoliths it was bound to and breaking free...heading straight from him. Link regained his movement, sprinting away and leaping as it swung it's hand at the Hero, destroying the wall behind him. "How do I kill this thing?" he thought as it turned to follow him, throwing a punch that he barely dodged, the force of the impact alone knocking him to the ground. Link regained his footing, an idea striking him.

The Hero dodged another strike, driving his sword into one of the giant creature's fingers, it quickly retracted it's hand and made to scream. Link quickly withdrew a bomb arrow, firing it into the monster's mouth. The massive ReDead fell backwards as the bomb detonated, nearly shattering the wall behind it. Link gathered five arrows, barely nocking them all at once as he cast a flame spell over them. He loosed all five into the black gash on the creatures chest. The Redead sprang to it's feet, roaring in pain as it charged at him. Link lunged to side as it raised it's foot and tried to stomp on him. He quickly recovered, slashing it across the ankle, the creature dropping to one knee, Link shrugging as he leapt onto it, using his blade and the sharp edge of the shield to climb it.

The ReDead giant thrashed about, but despite it's efforts, Link clung on, eventually pulling himself onto it's shoulder. The massive creature turned to face him, Link firing another bomb arrow into it's mouth from close range, backflipping off of the creature and using his hookshot to grab onto the ledge, slowing his descent. He withdrew another batch of arrows, this time infusing them with light and firing them into the gash on the ReDead's chest, the monster falling to the ground as light energy poured from it's eyes and mouth. "You won't be making any more of your damned 'Sons'." Link growled as he watched it begin to disintegrate. Suddenly he was thrown back against the wall as it awoke, swiping him away with it's enormous hand. Link got to his feet, reaching back from an arrow to find his quiver was empty. "Damn." Link breathed as he leapt out of the way as it tried to stomp him.

Link used his hookshot to get back on the ledge, only to be smashed between it's fist and the wall. The Hero cried out as he fell to the ground, his left arm was definitely broken, there was no way around that. Link staggered to his feet, looking on as the creature loosed a less intense shriek. He clenched his teeth as he was frozen in place, the monster lowering it's head to his level. Link's breathing sped up as it opened it's mouth, he watched in horror as it's inner workings were exposed to him as it's gaping maw came closer.

he Hero closed his eyes, preparing for what came next when he felt something reaching out to him, it was close, it's power not unlike the Triforce, but very different at the same time.

"Reach for me, my Son." the Hero's Shade's voice echoed in his head. "Find your true power."

Link's breathing slowed as he focused on the Shade's voice, time seeming to slow around him as he followed it deeper and deeper within his very own spirit.

"Here is where you will find yourself." the Hero's Shade said.

Link reached out, feeling a slight burning sensation begin to build in his chest as it spread through his body, the sensation of his arm healing greeting him. It felt similar to when he opened the Gate, but far more intense. The Hero's eyes sprang open, this time they were a glowing white, sigils in the shape of the sun and moon appeared on his chest, glowing brightly as a white aura roared to life around him, his hair turning a glowing white as he broke free from the massive Redead's paralysis.

"I know what you are." Link began, his voice booming and powerful.

The massive creature reared back, unleashing another scream, Link remaining completely unaffected.

"I remember you, one of Mahilk's creations, the ReDead Horror." Link said as he strode forward. "It was I that locked you in here, funny things should come full circle like this."

The ReDead horror went into a rage, swiping and punching at Link, the Hero easily being able to deflect it's blows. The Hero pulled forth his blade, channeling the divine energy of the Fierce Deity into it. He unleashed a series of slashes, the ReDead horror shrieking as both of it's arms were severed, it's upper body shredded by the attacks. The monster stumbled back into a corner before charging at Link unleashing a roar that shook the whole temple.

Link reached onto his back, finding the rifle Edward had made for him. "Let's see what this does." Link said, channeling his energy into the weapon, right as the ReDead Horror was only a meter from him he raised it, firing directly between the monster's eyes. The Hero shielded himself as the Horror's head blew apart, it's body falling backward and being impaled on the remains of the monoliths that formerly held it, each and every piece of it disappearing in emerald flames. Link fell back into his normal form, breathing heavily as he descended the stairs into the center of the room. Energy began swirling where the monster fell, a chest appearing in a bright flash.

"Here we go." Link breathed as he threw open the chest, reaching in and withdrawing the Fierce Deity's mask. "You look the same as you did the last time I found you...one thousand years ago." Link whispered.

"Are you ready to become one again?" the Hero's Shade asked as he appeared behind the Hero.

"I always wondered who you were." Link began. "This entire time you've been reaching out to me from the mask...you call me your son because you created me...the mortal form of what we once were."

The Hero's Shade nodded. "The time has come to ascend to Godhood, your time as the Hero of Legend has come to a close."

"What will it be like?" Link asked.

"You do not recall?" the Hero's Shade asked.

"Will I forget who I am...will 'Link' cease to be?" the Hero asked.

"No, you will always live on, much how Zelda is still herself when she becomes Hylia. She needs you now more than ever." the Hero's Shade said.

Link's hands began to tremble as he held the mask, scenes from each and every era he had lived filling his mind. When he met Zelda in Skyloft, befriended Groose, fought Ghirahim, defeated Demise, the first time he and Ganondorf met in combat, other threats like Veran and Vaati, his life as a Kokiri, meeting Zelda after leaving Kokiri Forest, fighting alongside Midna during the Twilight War, growing up around Lake Hylia as a fisherman with his adoptive father in his last life and his reunion with Zelda in this life. Link felt a tear travel down his cheek. "It's really over, isn't it?"

"Once you don that mask you will have the power to finally destroy Demise, Majora, Mahlik and the Darkness that birthed them. The Hylian Great Fairy has been killed by them, Clock Town destroyed by them and the next casualty will be this universe itself!" the Hero's Shade urged.

"You said Zelda needs me more than ever...before I become...the Fierce Deity again, tell me what you mean." Link demanded.

The Hero's Shade stayed silent for a moment before setting it's single red eye on Link. "Zelda destroyed her host body upon learning Farore no longer occupied it...so Semira took Zelda's as a replacement."

Link felt as if all of his internal organs had bunched up in his chest, his heart feeling as if it stopped, a coldness spreading through his body.

"But as one, we can save her!" the Hero's Shade pressed.

Without hesitation Link put on the mask, a shockwave exploded out from him as the Mask merged with him, melting into his skin and becoming flesh and blood. Link cried out as he glowed a bright white, his armor and tunic burning away only to be replaced with a white version of the Hero's clothes, his arms and legs being covered in black tights as his tattered cloth boots were replaced with a tough and fresh looking set of leather ones, metal gauntlets surrounding his forearms, a red band around each wrist all whilst a metal plate formed around his chest and over his hips, gold detailing etching itself into the fringes as the glowing sun and moon symbols came to life on his pectorals. Red tribal markings spread around his now glowing white eyes, a blue line tracing along his brow ridge, his hair turning white, emanating a soft glow.

Link looked down at himself, rotating his hands back and forth energy crackling along his regained Godly form. He slowly realized he was nearly twice his original height, just by willing it he shrank down to two meters, a height he found much more to his liking.

"It's time to end this once and for all." he echoed as he extended his left arm, summoning his Double Helix Blade.

All activity seemed to stop as the men atop Snowpeak Fortress, the makeshift prisoner army and the Bulblins shifted their attention from the dead King Bulblin to Thrakon.

"Well, what are you all going to do, stare at me until nightfall?" the Mercenary laughed.

The Bulblins nearest exchanged weary glances before charging at Thrakon. He grinned and ran to greet them, without even unsheathing his blade he caught theirs in his gauntlets wrenching their blades away before grabbing each Bulblin by the throat and tossing them all the way to the summit. The Bulblins broke formation, the majority running at Thrakon, the Mercenary dodging all of their strikes, throwing jabs and kicks that sent them flying away.

The Prisoners looked around cautiously, realizing the Bulblin's attention was elsewhere. the inmates released a series of yells and shouts as they charged into the distracted Bulblins, easily tearing through them.

Thrakon grabbed a Bulblin and tossed it into Snowpeak Fortess' wall before fading away from a sword strike and throwing a hook into his aggressor's face, the force killing the creature. He turned to find a blade about to strike him, a sword impaling the Bulblin's chest from behind, a Prisoner nodding at Thrakon before moving on.

Atop the Fortress the Soldiers looked on in disbelief. "Does anyone know who that man is?" Lord Halland asked.

"Used to be the Guard as Madame Rose's...or so I hear." a Soldier answered.

"I'm pretty sure I've seen him with the Hero a few times." another Soldier answered.

"Whoever he is, let's lend our aid!" Lord Halland called out.

Thrakon looked over as the gates to Snowpeak Fortress fell, the men inside charging out and cutting into the Bulblins, archers taking out more from atop the wall.

"That's more like it!" Thrakon called out as he unsheathed his sword and cleaved through a line of Bulblins ahead of him.

Soon enough, between Thrakon, the Prisoners and the Snowpeak forces the Bulblin forces had been completely cleared out.

"Stay where you are, the lot of you!" the Soldiers shouted as they fanned out around the Prisoners.

Lord Halland strode by, eyeing them before setting his sights on Thrakon.

"I believe I owe you a great debt." the Nobleman said.

"As do I." Thrakon said, extending his had.

"You owe me nothing." Lord Halland said, shaking the former Sell-Sword's hand.

"Oh no, I meant to say I too think you owe me." Thrakon said with a grin.

Lord Halland was taken aback for a moment before nodding. "Well then, what would you have of me?" he asked.

"I need help, taking back Hyrule isn't a one man job and you have quite the army here." Thrakon replied.

"My army and I were cornered in the Fortress by an army of Bulblins and Ganondorf's men, sad to say we didn't amount to much." Lord Halland answered.

"Ey, we aren't Ganondorf's men!" one Prisoner yelled,

"Yeah, some Noble forced us to fight, said those things would kill us if we didn't." another Prisoner called out, motioning at a Bulblin corpse.

"You were being forced to fight?" Lord Halland asked.

"They took us out of Arbiter's Grounds because they needed more people." an inmate answered.

"So, you're all just Prisoners?" Thrakon asked.

The Inmates nodded while looking at Thrakon.

"Well then, fight with us, and you will all earn your freedom. I know some of you have done bad things to end up where you are, but I don't need to know about that. Help us and you're free to go." Thrakon answered.

The Soldier's looked at Thrakon, a quiet murmur breaking out over his decision.

"Why does Ganondorf need a Prisoner army anyway?" Thrakon asked.

"He's getting low on manpower." Lord Halland answered. "Those Soldiers in white he seems to be controlling, he took their self-preservation instincts so they've been getting slaughtered in battle, and then there's the fact many Labrynnian and Holodrumite Soldiers have deserted, because they at least know what he is." Lord Halland began.

"His armies are falling apart." Thrakon remarked. "How did you know about all that?"

"I've been communicating with the other Lords and Ladies of Hyrule with this." Lord Halland said, taking out a Seer's Stone. "They've encountered contingents of Labrynnians and Holodrumites who have broken off and are going into hiding, they fear Ganondorf, and rightfully so."

"I'd say, I took a run at him once, it didn't end well." Thrakon answered.

"You've faced Ganondorf himself in combat?" Lord Halland asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, he showed up himself at the last battle I fought, one blow was all it took for him to take me down." Thrakon answered.

"I just saw you take on half of that Bulblin force by yourself and you're telling me it only took one blow for him to defeat you? Reports of his strength have not been exaggerated." Lord Halland answered. "Many people seem to think we Nobles have bought into his lies out of respect and fear of that strength, but Ganondorf only has a few Houses following him, his Aghanim disguise fools no one except for those who want to be fooled."

"Glad to hear it, now contact those other Nobles and whip this Resistance into shape, we need to carve a path for Link." Thrakon replied.

"You say the Hero's name as if you know him personally." Lord Halland stated.

"I do, I was part of his "Hero's Company", my friend Trystane recruited me and it's made life harder but it's given me much more of a purpose." Thrakon said with a short laugh.

Lord Halland went silent for a moment, locking eyes with Thrakon.

The Sell-Sword glanced around, leaning towards a Soldier. "Is he alright?" he asked.

"You said Trystane...as in Sir Trystane Halland, Knight of the Royal Family?" Lord Halland asked.

"That would be the one..." Thrakon answered.

"I am his father, Lord Selvyn Halland, Ganondorf told me he was dead...is...this true?" Lord Halland asked.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, my Lord." Thrakon said with a grin. "I can tell you your son is alive and doing better than ever." the Sell-Sword said.

Lord Halland's face broke into a grin. "Well then, let's get this Resistance going and topple this regime, hopefully if we do so I may see my son soon."

oOo

Erris carefully crept though the village outside of his former home draped in a cloak with a cloth over his face. Labrynna was in even sorrier shape than it was when he ruled with Mahlik calling his body home. The people were starving, crops were dying and from what he could tell, livestock were dying also as they couldn't be fed.

"When do you plan to reveal yourself to them?" Wizzro asked in his ring form.

"Not now." Erris answered.

"Shouldn't your people know you've come to save them?" Wizzro asked.

"The last thing I'd need at this moment is Guards loyal to Ganondorf knowing I'm here." Erris answered.

"Ah, straight to the Castle then?" Wizzro asked.

"Straight to the Castle indeed, this will be a fight I start and finish on my own." Erris said.

"What about me?" Wizzro asked.

"True, I will have you...if this fool sitting on the Throne challenges me, you'll make sure no one interferes." Erris answered.

"That I can do." Wizzro answered

Both went quiet as they came upon Labrynna Castle's walls, a Guard on patrol walking by.

"Shall I?" Wizzro asked.

"Stay in your ring for now, I don't want people knowing you're here." Erris said.

The Prince walked out of the nearly dead foliage surrounding the Castle, shedding his cloak to reveal his black armor adorned with the Ambi family crest.

"Wow, you have really let my home fall apart." he said loudly.

The Guard turned in alarm, pulling out a horn to alert the others of an intruder, Erris striking him with a bolt of electricity before he could even lift it. The Prince levitated over the wall, landing in the courtyard and walking through what was once his Royal Garden and his Father's before him.

"Look what they've done to this place, Ganondorf's pulling all of our resources away so he can maintain himself and his forces." Erris said.

"What do you mean?" Wizzro asked.

"Every land has it's own life-force, Wizzro...when Mahlik was in my body his presence poisoned that life-force...now Ganon's stripping it away." Erris began. "I'm done watching, we're close enough, I'm going in."

The Prince opened the Gate of Souls in front of him, eyeing the Castle as he stepped through it.

A group of Guards in dark grey armor with Ganondorf's crest on their chest plates crowded around the portal as it opened, their spears pointed at it, the men waiting intently.

"Well, who is it?" the man on the Throne shouted, hoping it wasn't Ganondorf's orange-eyed General coming for another visit.

Bolts of lightning shot from the portal incapacitating each Guard, the man on the Throne standing and approaching it carefully.

"Who goes-" the man started.

"Who DARES sit on my Throne?" Erris asked as he exited the portal, the Gate of Souls closing behind him.

"Erris?" the man asked.

"Well, if it isn't my Dear Uncle Lawrence." Erris said.

"You, you're supposed to be dead." Lawrence said.

"And you're supposed to be in prison...or dead, and here I was expecting a heartwarming family reunion." Erris said sarcastically.

Lawrence stepped back, eyeing Erris carefully. "Lord Ganondorf freed me...where have you been all this time?"

"Touring the five lands with the Hero, defeating Ganondorf's minions wherever they rear their heads." Erris replied. "I decided it was time I came home and took my Kingdom back...only to find you've let it die...Labrynna lies decaying and you sit here complacent."

"Leave, before I have you thrown out." Lawrence threatened.

"You know you can't threaten me, you're just a man now. My mother told me about how she visited you in prison and extracted that Demon you trapped in your body, without it's powers you have nothing!" Erris called out. "But I am more than that, I was born with magical prowess far beyond your average Sorcerer...and how about we address your presence here? What? Did ruling Holodrum not work out for you?" Erris growled.

"The seat of this nation was left vacant after that Gerudo bitch got herself killed, so I let my General rule Holodrum while I took over as King of Labrynna." Lawrence said with a laugh.

"So Shilara's dead?" Erris asked.

"Tried to run the Master Sword back to your friend 'The Hero', she was a fool, much like you, my dear Nephew." Lawrence said. "If it wasn't for your foolishness, my family wouldn't have abandoned me after our attack on Hyrule Castle...but it is what it is, I'm a King now, and once Ganondorf finally kills the Hero, I'll be one of most powerful figures in the Dragmire Imperium and you will be dead."

"You're trying to blame this on me?!" Erris shouted.

"Master, there are Guards approaching!" Wizzro said.

"Take care of them." Erris said in a low tone, flicking Wizzro off his finger.

"So you still have that wretched thing your mother made you." Lawrence remarked as Wizzro blocked the guards with forcefield.

"Don't try to change the subject!" Erris snapped. "You could have told King Daltus not to imprison Mahlik within me, you could have worked something else out! My father had just died and you were in a place in which you could have negotiated something else...you wanted me to have that Demon inside me so you could use his power to further your own goals...you used me...I was a child." Erris said.

"Yes you were and are still one!" Lawrence called out. "I will not give up this country to you, leave now while I still allow it."

"I think I'll see what happens when you decide not to allow it." Erris hissed.

"Fine then, throw away your life." Lawrence replied.

Erris scowled and raised his hand, causing a circle of flame to rise around the two with a snap of his fingers. Erris shed his cape, unstrapping his armor on his upper body and letting it fall away and shedding his cloth shirt underneath, leaving his upper body bare. "You see these scars, aside from rigorous training, I got them from Mahlik trying to rip his way out of me." Erris said.

Lawrence couldn't help but let an intimidated expression take over as Erris cried out, a red aura building around him as his eyes began to glow the same color, flames creeping across his body as his scars turned into orange, glowing cracks in his skin.

"What power do you have that compares to me?" Erris asked.

"Lord Ganonodorf gave me this." Lawrence said, withdrawing a mask from his robes, a tribal look to it. "Said it was created by the Demon Majora, it should be more than enough for you!" he shouted as he donned the mask.

Erris watched as his uncle released a scream of pain as his body contorted and transformed into the masked warrior Odolwa.

"Funny, the Hero's friend was given one just like it, didn't do much for him." Erris growled.

Lawrence, in his Odolwa form, leapt at Erris, bringing down his sword on top of him. The Prince caught it telekinetically, tossing Lawrence across the room. He recovered from the attacks, running at Erris and unleashing a series of slashes, the Prince dodging each one before levitating up and delivering a series of flame-infused punches to Odolwa's midsection before hitting him point blank with a blast of flame.

His uncle fell to his knees, clutching at a burn mark on his chest before charging at Erris and fading out of the way of a blast of electricity, knocking Erris to the ground with a kick. The Prince shot back to his feet, leaping back as Odolwa's blade skimmed him, drawing blood. Erris grit his teeth as he brought his hands together, launching a torrent of energy at Lawrence, the man using Odolwa's shield to hold it back. Erris roared, putting more power into the blast, the energy tearing through the shield and sending Lawrence flying onto the ground.

Erris watched as his uncle got back to his feet and sprinted at him, the Prince bracing himself as Lawrence lunged, tackling him to the floor.

"Now you die." Lawrence's distorted voice sounded from the mask. He held Erris down with one hand while he raised his sword with the other.

Erris smirk before unleashing a jet of flame from his mouth, causing his uncle to drop his massive sword and stumbe back.

"Why you-" was all Lawrence could say before Erris charged at him, performing a number of flips, kicks and punches around him, each motion releasing a blast of flame that battered him back and forth, Lawrence falling to his knees.

Erris eyed the severely burned Odolwa-Lawrence before telekinetically tossing him into the wall of flame, Lawrence crying out and crawling back into the circle.

"Anything to say?" Erris asked.

"Die!" Lawrence called as he shot a hand forward, launching a ball of fire at Erris.

The Prince stood completely still as the ball of flame hit him dead center in the chest, having no effect whatsoever. "Don't you know by now?" Erris began. "Fire is my element!" he shouted as he launched a torrent of flame at Odolwa sending him skidding back along the floor. "Time to draw this to a close." Erris said as he summoned one of his crimson swords, slowly walking towards his uncle.

"Wait!" Lawrence cried as he removed the mask, reverting to his human form, his clothes blackened and charred, burn marks on his face and hands. "Please, Erris, I only took control of Labrynna to save it for you...I've been waiting for you to come back! All of those things I said...it was just to encourage you to access that power of yours and you did it! You can have Labrynna back and I'll return to Holodrum, we can be allies...family again, just like old times!" Lawrence pleaded.

Erris stood above his uncle, looking down at the man as he placed a hand on his chin. "Hm, let me consider it...NO!" he shouted, slicing Lawrence's head straight down the middle.

Wizzro watched as the wall of flame dropped, Erris walking away from Lawrence's body as the latter's blood pooled on the floor. The Prince called his power back within him, his aura dissipating, while his eyes and scars returned to normal.

"Any questions?" he called out as he took a seat on his throne.
