Abin sat against the curved wall of the cave he had hidden himself away in, he no longer cared about getting his clothing covered in the dirt and dust that covered every inch of his temporary home. It had been about two weeks since he had taken shelter in here, this hole in a rock face that he was sure once served as home to a pack of Bokoblins. He sighed as he stood up and glanced over at his food supply, it was getting dangerously low and the aquifer that ran to the cave had seemingly run dry or had been diverted elsewhere.
"Gaepora...where are you?" Abin asked, gritting his teeth.
Gaepora had been his friend his entire life, being well known for his white hair and seemingly superhuman traits despite his average appearance. None of it ever made sense to him until now...now that he was revealed to be some Hero chosen by the Goddesses to fight alongside the Goddess Hylia and the Fierce Deity themselves, it all sounded like some strange fairy tale or fable but it was true.
Before he had wound up here Gaepora had been missing for months only to return to their hometown a changed person, an entirely new personality and air of seriousness about him. He had gone straight to Abin to warn him that something was coming, something terrible.
"The Demons we've heard stories about, the ones that religious figures say are actively trying to destroy our world and us with it...they're real and they are coming." Gaepora had told him. Abin didn't believe him at first...he didn't believe him until darkness and blight came upon their land, people from southern settlements running to theirs warning them of terrifying "Dark Gods" leading armies to destroy their civilization and turn everything in their way to dust.
It wasn't long before what Gaepora had told him was undeniable, the end had come and his best friend offered him a way out. He had lead him straight to this cave, it went one-hundred and thirteen meters below the surface with three-hundred meters of rock above it, this was probably the safest place for him, Before he had left, Gaepora had called upon a strange, glowing object on his hand and managed to seal the entrance with a boulder using the strength it gave him...Gaepora had promised to move it once he returned.
Abin listened to the sounds of battle day and night, clangs of metal, the roars of beasts along with crashes and explosions he feared would surely cave in the cavern he now called home...those sounds had ceased days ago and yet Gaepora had not returned.
"I'm done waiting." Abin said as he got up and made the arduous trek back to the mouth of the cavern, still finding it sealed upon his arrival. "Hello?!" Abin called, pushing his full weight against the boulder that sealed him off from the outside world. "Is any one out there?" he called, his strength fading as he leaned against the wall. He was most assuredly going to die here.
He turned, beginning back towards his makeshift home he heard a soft impact outside, air rushing through the small gap between the boulder and the opening of the cave. Abin backed away slowly, something had heard him, he jumped when the boulder slowly upwards before flying off to the side, sand and dirt being kicked up into the air, a massive silhouette standing in cave's opening.
"Wh...who are you?" Abin asked.
"I could ask you the same." the Fierce Deity said as he emerged from the dust, stepping into the cavern.
"Dear Goddesses...you're the Fierce Deity." Abin said before dropping onto one knee and bowing his head.
"Yes I am, now who are you?" the Fierce Deity asked, looking down on the smaller human. "As far as I know all of the surviving humans were evacuated to Skyloft. What are you still doing down here?"
"My friend Gaepora warned me of what was about to happen...he had me take refuge here, said he'd come get me when it was all over...what do you mean all the 'surviving' humans?" Abin asked.
The Fierce Deity narrowed his eyes as he heard Gaepora's name. "The war with the Druthulidi Kings has exacted a heavy toll, more than half of all life has been wiped out by they and their armies, but we have rid the world of them once and for all...and if I may ask...you said Gaepora was your friend?"
"He fought alongside you, right?" Abin replied.
"That he did...I must apologize, I didn't give him the chance to return and release you from this place...I didn't even know you were here as I decided not to listen to what he had to say before I sent him to Skyloft." the Fierce Deity answered as he walked out of the cave, Abin behind him.
The blazing sun greeted them both, their feet sinking into the sand as they emerged out into the open air.
"What happened here?" Abin asked as his eyes adjusted, seeing only desert for miles when a green landscape full of life was there only weeks prior.
"It's like I said, the battle with Demise and his brothers exacted a heavy toll...your land was also a casualty, it will take centuries to recover, but the Great Fairies will aid in that process." the Fierce Deity answered.
"You said you didn't want to listen to what Gaepora had to say...what happened...and what is Skyloft?" Gaepora asked.
"Skyloft is a new home for the survivors of the war. it's high up in the clouds, created bu Hylia and suspended in the sky by her will alone. At least, it was her will, the Great Fairies now make sure it stays where it is because Hylia...Hylia is dead and it is Gaepora's fault." the Fierce Deity explained, a hint of pain in his voice.
"Wait...how...how could this be Gaepora's fault?" Abin asked, a more aggressive tone to his voice.
"In his last lifetime, Gaepora traded the blade that had been bestowed upon him by the Goddesses in exchange for Demise sparing his Village." the Fierce Deity said, a rage building inside of him. "When he was the confronted with the Sword Spirit that inhabited the blade...the Sword Spirit that had once been his friend, he hesitated...and in that moment Demise overcame him and came to Mahlik's aid against Hylia and struck her down with the very blade Gaepora had surrendered to him years earlier."
Abin's breathing was shallow as he looked away from the Fierce Deity, sweeping his eyes across the devastated landscape around them. "Is there anything you can do?" Abin asked.
"Yes, and it's already been done, the Great Fairies and I saved Hylia's essence and enacted a spell to make sure that she's reborn...though in mortal form. She will be Gaepora's daughter and he shall be entrusted with her safety...and the same will happen to me." the Fierce Deity responded.
"You mean you're just leaving us?" Abin asked.
"The time of Gods walking among mortals has come to and end, I will follow Hylia into the mortal realm and resume my duties as a human much like yourself." the God answered.
"Much like myself, eh?" Abin asked, glancing up at the clouds above. "Will you take me to Skyloft?
"You could go to Skyloft I suppose...or you could accept a task, it will be the last time I ask anything of humanity." the Fierce Deity said.
"What is it?" Abin asked.
"This." the God answered, holding up his left hand, a demonic looking mask covered in red and purple markings materializing above his palm, floating in place, it's two yellow eyes feeling as if they were looking straight through him, spikes adorning it's edges. "This mask was made from Majora's own hide, cut from his physical manifestation right after I defeated him...his very essence is trapped inside, this mask will require a keeper once I'm gone."
Abin took a step back, a chill flowing through his body like a wave, the mask terrified him, it's every aspect was just as horrible as the Demon it was made from, yet at the same time part of him was fascinated by it, so much so that it rebelled against his better judgement. "If I accept this task will I ever be able to see Gaepora and my other friends again?" Abin asked.
"At some point, yes." the Fierce Deity replied.
"Then I'll do it." Abin answered.
"You have done me a great service." the Fierce Deity said as he handed the mask to the human.
"What now?" Abin inquired.
"I have a parting gift for you." the Fierce Deity said.
Abin glanced up as the God placed his hand on his head, a blue aura surrounding him for a moment before dying down as the Fierce Deity removed his hand. "What did you do to me?"
"You are to be the Mask's one and only keeper, so I have bestowed upon you the gift of immortality." the Fierce Deity responded.
"I don't feel any different." Abin answered.
"You won't, but age won't come to you like it will others. You will grow older, but only until you are done maturing, when that point is reached you will stop." the God answered.
Abin felt like he was in a dream, he still hadn't processed all that had occurred on this day and new it would be quite a while before he would, but he had to carry on. "What now?"
"Now you will head northeast, you will come upon a swamp, go through it and will arrive in a land called Termina, it's been mostly untouched by the battles with the Druthilidi and it will make a good home, far from the those that would like to take possession of that mask." the Fierce Deity said before looking off towards the setting sun. "You needn't worry about predators and other creatures, they've mostly been killed during Demise's purge and the ones that remain won't go near you as long as you hold that mask...something about the energy it gives off."
"Where will go?" Abin asked.
"Another life in another era." the Fierce Deity said before looking at Abin and giving a small smile. "Thank you." he said.
Abin shielded his eyes as a blinding white light surrounded the Fierce Deity before shooting up into the sky, an immense flash illuminating everything before dying down. He looked upon where the God had stood, finding a mask in the shape of his likeness lying in his place. "I guess I'm supposed to take you with me, too."

Present Day
"You know, I was coming back for you. It was quite alarming when I found the cave empty." Elgon remarked.
"Being isolated in a cavern for months isn't very pleasant you know, I got out as soon as the opportunity presented itself." Abin said with a laugh.
"You're telling me you actually wanted to guard that mask instead of going to Skyloft?" Elgon asked with a laugh.
"The Fierce Deity made it seem like the choice didn't not truly exist." Abin answered.
"I guess I can't talk you out of this then?" the Light Sage asked.
"You talked me into hiding once before and that's how I ended up in this position, guarding the mask was my duty for over one-thousand years before the Fierce Deity returned in the form of a child and slayed Majora...and now that he's back it is my duty to rectify my failure by capturing him in the mask once again." Abin replied.
"Well, it's nice to finally see you taking things seriously." Elgon answered before looking off towards their new allies. Cia stood with the resurrected Igos Du Ikana, the two explaining to the Ikanian people what they were up against while the group they came with stood off to the side.
"I assume Din is still recovering." Abin stated.
"Restoring life to an entire civilization took a lot out of here, she was literally falling apart right in front of me." Elgon answered.
"Tell me, old friend, what do you think of your part to play in this?" Abin asked.
"I've been the Light Sage on and off for two thousand years, it's the time when I have not been chosen as a Sage that I've had the time to think about my time as the Hero. Maybe the Goddesses were right about me at first, but Demise knew to take advantage of my humanity, thus allowing things to happen that Link would have never allowed come to pass...I'm glad I am where I am and I am seriously looking forward to using my status as a Sage to put Demise away one last time." Elgon said, gritting his teeth.
"Let's hope this is the last time." Abin answered.
"It will be, I'll make sure of it." Elgon replied.

"With our new lives we have been asked on thing!" King Ikana declared, his subjects watching closely. "As you know, the Goddess has only asked we fight alongside her...I know some of you have your misgivings about this."
A murmur began in the crowd, Cia stood with the King and watched as Sharp, one of the composer brothers came to the front.
"Some are worried about losing the new life we've gained, it's not even been a day yet and you ask us to put ourselves on the line...I'm aware of the agreement but we'ee apprehensive nonetheless."
"He speaks the truth!" the hulking Captain Keeta shouted. "I just spent the last two-thousand-three-hundred years as a Stalfos living in a graveyard! Why should I do for some country, so-called Hero and Royal Family I've never even heard of?"
"We made a pact with the Goddess, who knows what will happen if we don't do what we promised." one of King Ikana's bodyguards said.
The King turned towards Cia, his now living face being able to adequately communicate his concern.
"I know, I know." the Sorceress replied before taking a step forward. "I know you're all scared to lose the new lives you've been given and maybe the promise of your Spirits moving on this time isn't enough...I understand that..." she began. "But what if I told you that if you died we could bring you back at the end?"
Saria stood on the outskirts of group with Impa, the two exchanging weary glances.
"What do you think she's going to suggest?" Impa asked.
"Cia doesn't have that kind of power and I don't know if Din will agree to that, seeing as it wasn't part of the deal." Saria replied.
"I'm hoping she's not going to say what I think she's going to." Impa said, gritting her teeth.
Cia looked out across the citizens of Ikana, giving Impa and Saria a glance as she hesitated before answering. "After the battle is over...we will use the Triforce to bring you back to life."
King Igos Du Ikana stepped to the side, looking down at the Sorceress. "The Triforce was taken from us by the Goddesses thousands of years ago, do you even have the power to use such a thing?"
"I'm sure Din won't be opposed." Cia said before stepping down from the higher ground she, the King and his bodyguards stood on. The people of Ikana had more questions, but there was only one of them she was interested in talking to at the moment.
"Is that what you were expecting?" Saria asked.
"It's happened in nearly every era in which I've been reincarnated...I knew it was coming at some point." the Sheikah woman said. "Just didn't expect it from her."
"Would using the Triforce truly be so regrettable?" Saria said.
"Maybe not in other eras in which the Goddesses served as the source of it's power, but in this age Farore and Nayru have been slain with Link and Zelda taking their places while Ganondorf has obviously warded the Triforce of Power from Din's influence seeing as she hasn't been able to take it from him. Using the Triforce for an undertaking like that could very well kill Link, Zelda and Din, seeing as she's no longer connected to the Sacred Realm." Impa explained.
"Do you think Ganondorf was planning this?" Saria asked.
"Maybe not, my guess is it just serves as an added bonus for him." the Sheikah woman scowled.
"So when the time comes, what will we use it for?" Saria asked.
"That's for Link and Zelda to decide." Impa replied before heading back to their camp.
oOo
Cia looked back at the Ikanians once more, at least they no longer seemed to hate her. They all crowded around the King, finally asking him questions and putting him in the spot he's supposed to be in.
"Cia." a soft voice spoke.
"There you are, I was starting to get worried you wouldn't be here." the Sorceress replied.
"I wouldn't miss the chance to catch up after so long." Lana said as she stepped out from underneath a tree.
"I would have come to find you earlier...I just had a whole civilization to initiate back into the world of the living and convince to follow me to war." Cia responded.
"You know, even after I died I tried to convince them not to blame you...to let go of it." Lana explained, looking down. "I know how it looks but the King isn't completely at fault."
"What do you mean? He's the one that asked me to use my powers to kill off an entire civilization...it was all his idea. I may not have gone along with it for the right reasons but in the end there was no 'right' reason for that." Cia answered, balling her fists.
"King Igos was going to let it go, the only reason he ended up summoning Majora was because Gomess told him he could help him win the war with the Garo and Majora was his answer." Lana replied.
"I still don't know if I can find it within me to forgive them all just yet." Cia answered.
"Well, if you do end up thinking you can forgive them, feel free to leave Captain Keeta out, in life, death and new life he's always been a tremendous cad." Lana answered with a laugh.
Cia shared a small smile, but looked away as her sister tried to make eye contact.
"Cia...what's wrong?" Lana asked. concern taking over her features.
"I...have something to ask of you." Cia replied.
"Of course, you're my twin sister, my first friend and we've only just been reunited after millenia...you can ask me anything." Lana answered.
"I wanted to ask you to stay here...or go to Gamelon...or just go somewhere safe and stay out of this until it's over." Cia said.
"You're asking me to abandon my people...abandon you?" Lana asked.
"Just to be safe, I couldn't go on if I let something happen to you again...you could wait until the war's over and Ganondorf and Semira are defeated...I could come get you and you could meet your nephew Erris and we could start over here and live the lifes we were supposed to." Cia said desperately.
"Cia." Lana said, stepping forward and taking hold of her sister's hands. "I know we've only just been brought back together...and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't afraid of what's to come, but I'm not going to hide from this. We made a deal with the Goddess that we would aid her and I will honor that...besides, I'm one of the most powerful Sorcerers Ikana has to offer, my place is there, fighting alongside you, not hiding away."
"I know, I just don't want to lose you again." Cia said, leaning forward and embracing her sister.
"I just wish Gomess was here." Lana said.
"What? Why?" Cia asked.
"So we could give him a good beating together." Lana said, both Sisters sharing a laugh.
oOo
"So here's how it's going to go." Oren called out. "I've just received word from Erris that he's reclaimed Labrynna and has reassumed command of their military...they will be coming in from the east over Death Mountain and through the central Eldin Province while we'll be going west through the Gerudo Desert. From there we're going to go around Lake Hylia and head south towards Castle Town, while on our way we're going to meet-up with Captain Castion and his men who will be traveling crossing into Lanayru Province through Faron around the time we'll be arriving there.
"Remember, we're not quite sure what we'll be walking into so don't drop your guard for a second." Elgon added. "Any questions?"
"What about Castion and the other Lokomo survivors?" Trystane asked.
"Abin and I will be leaving soon to rendezvous with them, from there we'll take them straight to Castle Town." Elgon answered.
"It's approaching noon, you all better start getting ready because we're leaving in less than an hour." Oren called out.

Naora sat in her tent, Kyra at her side as usual.
"Is she sick?" Kyra asked.
Naora sighed as she placed a hand on her mother's shoulder, the older woman in a semi-conscious state. "No, aging hit her hard for some reason, her mind is lapsing and her body's shutting down...the other Gerudo say it's from the stress of me leaving with Ganondorf so long ago."
"Was she a good mother?" Kyra asked.
Naora glanced to the side before looking up at Kyra. "Somewhat, she started training me to fight from the moment I could walk and tried to teach me that the lower Gerudo essentially to be stepped on...then one a Gerudo male was born and our family's political power was threatened she went to Kali and Orvik and offered me to them as a bride for their son, they accepted quite readily...in her own way she just wanted the best for me."
"My mother was always very nice to me, but was sad whenever I'd see her...she knew that our time was limited and my father would arrive to take me away soon." Kyra replied.
"Why was it that Laorik didn't want you spending time with you mother?" Naora asked.
"He thought it important that I learn to rule at his side and not be softened by mother." Kyra replied.
"Well, your mother is in charge now and we're going to get you back to her, okay?" Naroa said.
Kyra gave a small smile and nodded. "What about the Zola?"
"You and I will be able to clear them out no problem." Naora said with a smile. "You know, I might have said a few less than positive things about my mother, but she's the leader the Gerudo need right now."
"I couldn't agree more." Din said as she teleported into the tent.
"Din, you're alright!" Naora said.
"I had to siphon off as much power as that Fairy Fountain could provide and in doing so I found out the Fairies have abandoned us...so there's that." the Goddess said.
"The fairies have left...wait...what did you mean you couldn't agree more?" Naora asked.
"You're a Sage and your sister's a child, the Gerudo are my people, thus I would watch them before my sisters and I were torn from the Sacred Realm, while your mother was more of the iron fist type, you will need her in the conflict to come."
"What do you mean?" Naora asked.
"Just step aside." Din said as she brushed past Naora and Kyra, the two watching her curiously. The Goddess knelt beside Aveil, the elderly Gerudo woman glancing at her curiously. "I should have done this much sooner." the Goddess said.
"Wow." was all Naora could manage as she watched her mother's age reverse. her graying hair returning to it's bright red coloration as healthy toned muscles once again began to bulge underneath her skin.
"It's done." Din said, turning to Naora and Kyra. "Oh, and tell the others too hurry up, the battle already begun and your side is losing. I'll meet you there." Din said before teleporting away.
Kyra kept on looking between where Din formerly stood and where Chief Aveil lay before finally setting her eyes on the Chief. "Is she-?" Kyra asked, stopping midway.
Naora let out a stunned cry as her mother leapt from her bed, throwing a punch at her daughter, Naora catching it before locking eyes with the Chief. "Mother, it's me!" Naora said.
"Naora?" Aveil breathed.
"Goddesses, you look just like you did when I was a child." Naora remarked.
"Where are we...and what is a Zora child doing here?" Aveil asked, indicating Kyra.
"Mother, this might be jarring for you..but-" Naora began. "Mother?"
Aveil groaned, putting both hands against her head as she stumbled back and fell to her knees. "Ganondorf...Semira...you...A sage? What is going on?"
"Din must have caught her up." Naora said quietly.
"Is she okay?" Kyra asked.
"I'm fine..." Aveil said. "So let me get this straight, Ganondorf tried to kill you, you abandoned him, hid out in the swamp, became a Sage, hid out with the Hylians, accidentally aided a Dark Goddess in capturing the Hero and Princess and then had the Goddess Din fix me up?"
Naora and Kyra exchanged glances before looking back at the woman.
"Um...yes...that's basically it." Naora answered.
"Well then, we've got our work cut out for us." Aveil said as she exited the tent.
"Chief?!" a Gerudo woman called.
"I've made a full recovery, you all can start marching back to Hyrule now, our 'King' needs a good thrashing and we're going to be the ones to do it."
The Gerudo women made a quick bow before going to retrieve their supplies.
"I thought you'd be happier to see me." Naora said.
"I am...but every time I look at you I just remember how you ran off with Ganondorf the first chance you got...it stressed me out so bad I...I just remember losing feeling in my body one day...I was confused and there was this damn smell like burning bread and I can only remember bits and pieces after that...so yes, I'm happy to see you but eventually we're going to have to talk." Aveil said, nodding at her daughter before walking off.
"She's kinda scary." Kyra remarked.
"Yeah, she gets like that sometimes." Naora replied.
oOo
Link slashed horizontally, a wave of energy scattering the mass of opposing Soldiers and beasts in front of him. "Ganondorf!" he roared as his arch-nemesis came into view.
Ganon grimaced, if the Hero had remained mortal this would have been no issue for him, but with the power of the Fierce Deity he was a new level of formidable.
Link shot at Ganondorf, raising the Master Sword while Ganondorf did the same, bringing up the Elder Blade, the whole battlefield shaking as the two met.
"You're new powers change nothing." Ganondorf growled.
"You're an even worse lier than you are a ruler." Link replied before leaping back and making multiple slashes through the air, each sending a blade of energy at the Demon King.
Ganondorf teleported out of the path of two before blocking the other two with his blade. He ground his feet in before charging forward and performing a vertical downwards slash, Link bringing the Master Sword up to block it. With a lightning fast motion, Ganondorf landed a flame-empowered punch to Link's chest, sending the Fierce Deity hurtling backwards in a blast of fire before hitting the ground consumed by flames.
Link winced, keeping his eyes closed for a moment while his rage built, his eyes flicking open their white glow illuminating the air around him as he slowly rose to his feet. "You won't get that lucky again." Link growled.
Ganondorf readied himself for another attack when Link suddenly disappeared, the Demon King attempting to dodge to the side when Link reappeared, having teleported behind him. The Fierce Deity delivered a kick that sent Ganon flying upwards before teleporting over him, striking him with a bolt of lightning that delivered him back to the ground. Ganondorf tried to slow his descent, only for Link to teleport next to him once again, bringing the Master Sword down onto him, the Demon King conjuring an energy shield to block the attack just in time, only for the force of Link's strike to send him flying through the air before hitting the ground hard and rolling a meter.
"You...I should have killed you when I had the chance!" Ganondorf roared as he charged at Link.
Link charged forward to meet him, both performing horizontal slashes directed at each other with all the power they could bring forth. The earth quaked as they met, an enormous shockwave tearing across the field, knocking the combatants near it off their feet.
Both the Hero turned Fierce Deity and demon King stumbled back as their blades were knocked from their hands. The two nemeses didn't stop though, they lunged for each other, Link and Ganondorf catching each other's hands mid-air, both trying to throw the other to the ground.
"I made short work of Majora, even with your own power and Mahlik's you'd be lucky to fight evenly with me." Link hissed through gritted teeth.
Ganodnorf pushed back, the ground cracking and giving way underneath the two. "You've always been the weak one, you're new powers haven't changed that...without your Princess you are nothing." Ganondorf replied, his lips slowly forming into a smirk.
The two broke from their struggle, both extending an arm, their swords flying back to them. "Return Zelda to me and maybe I'll let you live, Mahlik and Majora have to go though." Link said.
"Zelda's mine now." a sinister feminine voice announced.
Link spun around to see Zelda, her skin dark grey, hair black and eyes that looked like voids. "Let her go, Semira." Link said in a low tone.
"Or what?" Semira asked, a mocking tone to her voice.
Link gritted his teeth as he looked upon her, Zelda's beautiful visage that gave off a sweet and caring demeanor had been corrupted by the Dark Goddess and for the first time since he became the Fierce Deity, he felt helpless.
"You hear that?" Semira asked, cupping a hand over her ear. "You're so absorbed in trying to get your Princess back that you're ignoring all the sounds of battle...those are your friends, your people dying, are they not?"
"The Hero's arrogance, it's always plagued you." Ganondorf said with a laugh.
"You're so afraid to touch me, lest you hurt little 'Zelda'" Semira remarked. "And that name, such an odd choice, why not just continue calling herself Hylia...to obvious maybe? Perhaps Gaepora thought that a simple mortal form and name change would fool my dearest son."
"Semira, stop this...leave Zelda alone and I'll give myself up." Link said.
"Listen to you!" Semira snapped. "So afraid to see your Princess hurt! Well...how do you like this?" she asked, a twisted smile appearing on her face as she extended her right arm, suddenly making a quick snapping motion, Link feeling a twinge of pain in his stomach as he watched, not being able to help making a stunned gasp as Semira broke her...Zelda's arm.
"I'll make you pay for this! Both of you!" Link yelled.
Semira emitted a loud laugh as she healed her arm before looking at Link. "Funny, I didn't feel a thing...but Zelda did...might as well heal it so I can just break it again to remind who owns this body now."
Link lunged at Semira, his anger taking over, only to be suddenly pulled back. The Deity looked over his shoulder to find Ganondorf had extended one of Majora's whips, the appendage fastening itself around his waist. The Hero grabbed onto the whip, making to pulling it away when Semira raised an arm in his direction, her eyes locking with his.
"Not nearly as strong as you were last time we met, Fierce Deity, that seems to be common theme in this era...oh well, away you go now." she said. The Dark Goddess' face broke into a grin as an enormous blade of shadow formed in front of her, Semira flicking her index finger forward.
Link readied himself, bringing forth as much light energy as he had to combat this threat when suddenly it shattered in front of him, falling to pieces that slowly dematerialized as they hit the ground. He took this moment to tear the whip from his person and shoot a blast of energy at Ganondorf, the Demon King raising his arms to block it and skidding back on his heels as he did so.
"You need to be more careful." Din appeared next to him, placing a hand on his shoulder and teleporting them to Castle Town's eastern field.
"Didn't come here to save me, did you?" Link asked.
"I just wanted to see my old friend the Fierce Deity again...took you long enough to get back to full power." Din replied.
"We kind of have more pressing concerns." Link stated.
"You take care of the abomination Demise has turned himself into and I'll handle Semira." Din said, turning towards the Dark Goddess.
"But...it's Zelda...we can't hurt her." Link replied.
"Once this is done we can heal Zelda, we just have to focus on getting Semira out of her and defeating her once and for all." Din replied.
"So confident and wrongly so." Semira said as she and Ganondorf appeared, both levitating down to the ground on either side to face their rivals.
Link faced Ganondorf as Din faced Semira, the God and Goddess standing back to back.
"Are you ready for this?" Link asked.
"I've been waiting for this day for a long time." Din answered.
oOo
The Great Deku tree was roused from his deep slumber by the sounds of battle outside, the shockwaves of magical attacks blowing through his branches. The Forest Deity wasn't conscious very often these days, Ganondorf had left him neglected and bound, heavy chains of Goron steel binding his lower branches, but at least he could still speak to his Sister the Great Macku Tree and brother, the Great Baga Tree, whom he only spoke to now due to the circumstances.
"Brother, it's happened, I'm free." a voice come.
The Deku Tree's branches raised as he heard it, hope beginning to grow. "How could this be?" he asked.
The Great Macku Tree had begun healing after Labrynna had been liberated. "Prince Erris has returned, he freed me."
"Can you get us out of this?" a snarling voice replied.
"You deserve what's become of you, Baga." the Great Macku Tree answered.
"Hopefully there's been a lesson for you in all of this." the Great Deku Tree added.
"I would have never sided with that bastard if I knew he'd do this to me." Baga answered.
"Speaking of your predicaments..." the Great Deku Tree began. "Why not just kill us?"
"Ganondorf needed us for something." the Great Baga tree answered.
"He was drawing power from us, our energy has a regenerative property he needed to keep his body intact under the stress of all that power he's forced his body to contain." the Great Macku Tree answered.
"How did you find this out?" The Great Deku Tree asked.
"As soon as Erris removed my restraints the massive drain I'd felt over the previous months disappeared and I realized there was more to the ritual than just bringing the Goddesses to Earth, Ganondorf wanted to collect our energy."
"If you haven't noticed he's still got the two of us, so what do you propose we do about that?" The Great Baga tree hissed.
"Easy, I'm no longer in my tree form." Macku said.
The Great Deku Tree grinned for the first time in a long while, it had been millenia upon millenia since they had taken the form of Trees to safeguard the forests...it was about time they took a more active role.

Thrakon dodged to side, Kanthos' jet of flame going straight past his shoulder before the Sorcerer brought up his other hand, letting loose a blast of electricity, the mercenary dropping to one knee, the attack nearly parting his hair.
"The Fierce Deity's arrival means nothing." the foreign Sorcerer growled.
Thrakon raised a fist and pounded it upon the ground, the momentary jolt shaking Kanthos from his footing. the Sellsword sprinted at his opponent and threw a jab. Kanthos grit his teeth as he caught it with both hands, shaking with the effort of holding Thrakon back.
"It means it's over for Ganondorf, Semira and you." the Mercenary replied.
"We've beat you once." Kanthos said before thrusting his arms forward, tossing Thrakon into the air before grabbing him telekinetically. "And we'll do it again."
"You're stronger than you look." the Sellsword remarked.
"It would've suited you well to realize that earlier...pity you're too thick-skulled!" Kanthnos roared as he brought his hands together and unleashed a blast of energy, hitting the Mercenary in the chest, Thrakon flying back and landing amid the battle going on around them.
A rather large Moblin skidded to a halt as it regarded the Human that landed at it's feet, the creature looking over to a group of human Soldiers.
"Is he dead?" one asked.
"Poke him with your sword." the other answered.
"Step aside!" Kanthos demanded as he came upon them, strolling through the battle with as much caution as he would if it were only a slightly breezy day.
The human Soldiers complied, hurriedly going off in search of more opponents, the Moblin simply turning and running as soon as Kanthos locked eyes with it.
"Done yet?" the Sorcerer asked as he placed a foot on Thrakon's side, kicking over onto his back.
Thrakon's eyes sprang open as he grabbed Kanthos by the ankle and leapt to his feet. "I've learned a lot about my heritage these last couple of months, including using the power I inherited from my mother to block attacks like the one you sent at me." Thrakon said before whipping Kanthos into the air.
The Sorcerer let out a howl of rage as he stopped himself before flying back down to Earth, a red aura rising around him accompanied by flames spreading across his body, electricity arcing over him as well. "BLOCK THIS?!" he roared, his voice echoing across the battlefield.
Thrakon channeled as much energy as he could into his arms as he crossed them over his head. In one enormous push Kanthos unleashed his full power upon the Mercenary, Thrakon attempting to hold it back only for the blast to get the better of him, his armor shredding as the ground around him shattered, a shockwave tearing away from the blast, the explosion itself taking out all nearby combatants, friend and foe alike.
Thrakon pulled himself forward with one arm, groaning with every motion, only shreds of chainmail remaining over the clothes he wore under it, parts of those garments being singed off too.
"I've spent seven-hundred and forty years building my power and I won't be stopped by some half-breed." Kanthos said.
"Are you just going to keep on talking or are you actually planning on finishing me off?" Thrakon growled.
"You can act brave all you want! You may have been born with power, but what is that compared to eight centuries of collecting it?" Kanthos asked, a grin spreading across his features when suddenly his opponent vanished into thin air. "Why bother saving someone so inferior?" Kanthos growled.
"Your lust for power has blinded you." Cia said as she materialized behind him. "Let's se how your eight centuries stand up to my thirty."
"I bested your entire group in Termina, don't act like you can stand against me." Kanthos hissed.
"You had the Anteforce then, you couldn't even use it right so Ganondorf had to take it back...look at you, the scourge of the Lokomo taking a knee to someone." the Sorceress replied, shifting her eyes around, noticing the combatants on both sides were keeping their distance.
Kanthos' eyes went wide as he grit his teeth, a startled vocalization escaping him. "So there were survivors." he remarked. "...and they made contact with you."
"I've felt bad about my past but I'm nothing compared to the monster you've made yourself into." Cia responded, teleporting her staff into her hands. "The time to talk is over and so are you."
"Fine then, let's settle this." Kanthos said, his swords materializing in his grasp.
"Let's!" Cia shouted asshe brought her staff up, a torrent of energy tearing across the ground at Kanthos, the Sorcerer blocking it before teleporting over the Sorceress and unleashing a series of slashes, Cia blocking two before levitating up into the air and firing a volley of energy blasts at the Sorcerer, Kanthos releasing a wave of dark energy that burned her attack away.
"Is this all you have?" Kanthos growled.
"Not even close." Cia said as she extended her staff, the object growing to massive proportions before coming down un Kanthos.
The Sorcerer extended a shield around himself, the construct barely standing up to Cia's attack. The Foreign warrior dropped the shield and looked up only for a bolt of energy to hit him square in the chest, Cia once again extending her staff and catching him with it before tossing Kanthos over her shoulder. The Sorcerer hit the ground rolling, eventually getting to his feet and skidding to halt before bringing both palms up and firing a torrent of blue flame at the Sorceress, Cia extending a hand and collecting it before tossing it back at her stunned opponent. Without time to teleport away, Kanthos made to dodge it, barely evading it in time only for the shockwave to knock him off his feet.
Cia morphed her staff into a blade and leapt into the air over the Sorcerer, Kanthos teleporting into the sky behind her and and hitting her with a lightning strike that sent her smashing into the ground. The Sorceress stood up and dusted off her armor. "I've slightly underestimated you." she said before wiping a trickle of blade away from her mouth.
"Slightly? You mean 'seriously'!" Kanthos roared as she shot towards her, releasing the same burst of energy he hit Thrakon with, only for Cia catch it with one hand.
"While in Ikana I went back to the Valley of Seers, I reconnected with my Altar and unlocked my power once again." she said before turning Kanthos' attack back at him. The Sorcerer teleported out of the way and fired a bolt of dark energy at Cia, only to find she was gone, the blast hitting only the ground. "This whole time I've been rejecting what made me so strong in the first place." Cia said as she reappeared behind Kanthos, the Foreign Sorcerer releasing an enraged shout before performing a spin attack, Cia floating backwards out of the way before tapping her staff against the ground, four copies of Kanthos appearing around him. "I did not choose my power, it chose me." Cia continued as chains of energy sprouted from the ground and held Kanthos in place as each of his duplicates mimicked his spin attack, knocking him to the ground and sending him skidding across it.
"I care not for you stories!" Kanthos said as he drove his swords into the ground, a massive blast of energy emanating from him.
Cia appeared within the blast, walking towards Kanthos as his torrent of energy battered her armor. "All this time I felt ashamed of what I had done so I tried to run away from what I truly was, I rarely used my full power because I feared it...but now I realize that it is my nature...and I control it and it does not control me. I'm not a Sorceress of the Light like Princess Zelda, I am a Dark Sorceress and I embrace that now!" she called as she raised a hand and brought it down to the ground, an enormous dark energy construct in the shape of her hand appearing above Kanthos before dropping it on him, bringing him down to his knees and extinguishing his attack. "I may perhaps be the greatest Sorceress in existence." Cia said as dark energy began to flow through her, her eyes glowing alternate shades of red and purple.
Kanthos staggered to his feet, orange irises fixed on Cia. "This is impossible...you can't be human." he said, his normally arrogant tone fading to an inflection he hadn't spoken with since he was a child...fear.
"If you spent more time learning how to become one with magic as opposed to using it as a weapon maybe you would understand." Cia said before thrusting her arms forward, a wave of black, purple and red energy rushing around her and towards Kanthos. The Sorcerer extended his arms, letting loose a torrent of energy to combat it.
"I won't lose like this." Kanthos said through gritted teeth."
Cia narrowed her eyes, flexing her arms and splaying her fingers wider, the wave of energy intensifying and tearing a trench into the ground, Kanthos pushed back as Cia's attack closed in on him.
"I won't lose to anyone." Kanthos said quietly as Cia's energy wave snuffed out his and overtook him, leaving nothing in it's wake.
"He was stronger than I thought he'd be." Cia said to herself. Suddenly her body took on a white glow as she separated into two, Lana turning towards her sister with a small smile.
"It's been a long time since we've done that." Lana remarked.
"I almost forgot we were able to merge...I don't know if I could have beaten him without you." Cia replied.
"The point is; he's gone now, it's time." Lana reminded her twin.
"Right." Cia said as she retrieved a Seer's Stone from a pouch hung around her waist.

"Where are you all going in such a hurry?" Queen Mazu asked, the Zola Soldier only grunting in derision at her before moving on. "You there." the Zora Queen said quietly, looking around before approaching her guard.
"Sssh! You know we're not supposed to talk to you." the Zora man replied.
"Something's going on." she said, ignoring his protests. "Have you heard anything?"
"I...I don't know." he answered before looking towards the door. "But they sure look panicked."
"I'm done sitting around here like a Hermit Crab, let's go." Mazu said, reaching for the Guards belt and pulling his dagger from it.
"But I'm not supposed to let you leave." the Guard argued. The Queen tilted her head to the right and cocked an eyebrow at him, the man dropping his arms and sighing. "Fine, I'll go." he answered.
The Queen and the Guard slowly walked down the hall, being less careful about the noise they made as they travelled closer to the main hall, the sounds of battle filling the air.

Trystane dodged a Zola's spear before freezing it solid with a blast of ice and shattering it with his sword whilst Naora faded to the side, avoiding the club of a massive Zola before leaping onto it and using the momentum from the upswing to flip onto it's back before driving her scimitar through it's head.
"These guys aren't so hard." Naora called out.
"You can say that again." Impa answered as she parried a harpoon strike from her opponent, slicing it's abdomen open and driving her Great Sword through it's chest as it fell to it's knees.
"It's good to be back in the fight." Ara said as she dropped to the floor and slid under the feet of the a Zola before standing up and tossing a throwing knife into it's back.
Across the room Trokon stood with each foot on his opponent's shoulders, strangling it with his chain- whip, hopping off as it dropped to the ground. "Come now, I know you're stronger than that." he said with a smirk. The Zola pushed up off the ground with a roar, slashing at Trokon with it's claws, the Sheikah man dodging the strike and snapping his chain-whip at the creature, the metal point on the end piercing it's temple.
Aren leapt over a Zola's head as he bent to grasp him, Oren sliding out from the shadows and cutting it's legs out from under it whilst the younger Sheikah spun around and drove a knife through it's eye.
Outside Lemuria, Vashara and Aveil led the small group of Gerudo women in running the Zola off the edge of the waterfall that fell from Zora's Domain. The Gerudo warriors flipping over the Zola weapon strikes before driving their spears into the monster's chests, Lemura and Vashara standing on the edge of the cliff, driving their swords into the Zola as they stumbled back and throwing them over the ledge.
"We got the easy job." Vashara remarked.
"You just had to say something." Lemuria responded as a particularly large Zola ran from inside Zora's Domain and scattered the other Gerudo.
"I've got an idea." Vashara said as she ran directly to the edge of the cliff.
"So do I." Lemuria said as she charged the creature, ducking under the swing of it's claw and cutting into it's side with her blade, the creature turning to her with a growl.
"Damn it." she muttered as the Zola backhanded her away before turning it's sights towards Vashara.
"Hopefully that'll teach you a lesson, kid." Vashara said as she raised her sword. "Come get me!" she called.
The monstrous Zola charged at her, roaring as it raised it's claws.
"Just a little closer." Vashara said.
Suddenly the Zola stopped, raising it's hands into the air and bringing them down upon Vashara, the Sheikah woman barely managing to leap out of the way. The creature strode along the edge of the cliff, smirking as it looked down at her. Vashara's attention was taken away from the creature as she heard a battlecry pierce the air, none other than the newly healthy Chief Aveil sprinting towards the monster and leaping towards it, managing to knock it off balance and send it toppling over the cliffside.
The Chief turned to the blonde Gerudo woman, raising an eyebrow at her. "You one of mine, I don't remember you." she said as she helped her up.
"Afraid not, I'm from the Terminian side of the Gerudo family." Vashara answered.
"Ah, one of the pirates." Aveil answered. "You did pretty well, managed to outfight a Sheikah." she observed.
"I'm right here, you know." Lemuria said.
"I realized." Aveil answered.
"Let's get back inside, it's almost time for the grand finale." Vashara said, Aveil nodding and directing the other Gerudo into Zora's Domain.
"I liked her better before." Lemuria huffed.
"Eh, you'll get used to her evnetually...maybe." Vashara said with a laugh.
"Naora doesn't seem used to her and she's her mother." Lemuria replied.
Queen Mazu and her guard watched as their rescuers corralled the remaining Zola into a circle. "What are they...?" she began when suddenly a young Zora girl entered the room from the pool of water below, a silver staff in her hands.
"Isn't that?" her guard began.
"Kyra..." the Queen said. She was instantly brought out of her fixation as her guard let out a startled scream, a Zola having emerged from the hall behind them and grabbed him by the neck. "Let him go!" Mazu growled, brandishing the dagger.
"Or what." the creature growled.
The Queen was almost knocked off of her feet as a blue blur whipped by her, circling the Zola several times before coming to a halt, revealing itself to be a young Zora man in dark blue armor adorned with the Hyrulean Royal Family's crest.
"Sorry about the mess." Aquos said, looking back at the shredded Zola, the visibly shaken guard standing rooted to the spot, the Zola's hand still gripping his shoulder.
"How did you do that?" Mazu asked.
"With this." Aquos said, holding up his serrated sword, covered in blood and flesh. "May need a good cleaning."
"That gives you the power to travel as fast as you were?" she asked.
"Oh no, that's just a natural ability of mine." Aquos said before sweeping his eyes over Zora's Domain. "Look at me, back home for a few hours and I'm already in with the Queen." he said with a laugh.
"Whatever's going on here...can you take me down there?" she asked.
"Right, right, right! Kyra's your daughter." he answered.
"Yes, now can you-." she began.
"In a second." Aquos replied, gesturing towards the main hall.
Kyra lifted the scepter and brought it down, all the water in the room forming into a massive wave, sweeping the Zola out, the young Zora girl managing to make sure the water avoided her allies.
"Good job, Kid!" Naora called out, Kyra responded with a smile.
"I think I'm getting stronger." Kyra remarked as she looked down at the staff.
"You're going to need it, we'll have to use our powers soon enough." Naora answered.
"Kyra?"
The Zora girl turned to find her mother entering the room, Aquos and a Zora guard entering behind her.
"Mother!" Kyra called out as she ran to Mazu, the Zora Queen embracing her and picking the girl up.
"I...I don't understand, how did she end up with all of you." the Queen said as she looked upon the odd bunch.
"I ran away...and she found me." Kyra said, gesturing towards Naora.
"You've been keeping my daughter safe this whole time?" Mazu asked.
"Well, it's really nothi-" Naora said, pausing as Queen Mazu embraced her next.
"Thank you." the Zora Queen said.
"I hate to point this out to all of you, but can't the Zola just swim back up here?" Aquos asked.
"We've got it handled." Impa replied.

"Here they come." Volga said.
"Can't wait." Marin responded as she transformed into her Helmaroc Queen form, Volga following suit and taking on his dragon form.
The Zola managed to slow they descent, coming to a landing at the bottom of the waterfall.
"Let's get back up there." one hissed.
"You're not going anywhere." Volga growled.
the Zola turned just as Marin plucked a few of them in her talons and took them up into the sky before dropping them, Volga merely letting loose a jet of flame, incinerating the rest.

"So that's where they've been this whole time." Oren said.
"Who are all of you?" Queen Mazu asked.
"General Impa of the Hylian Military, at your service." Impa answered. "Those of us in blue armor are the elite Knights of Hytopia...I only recently found out about them myself, of course your know the other Sheikah are my people and we have some Gerudo warriors tagging along with us."
"Well, if you're cleared out our domain looking for a place to set up camp, you're out of luck, now that the Zola are gone they'll be coming to clear us out any day now." the Queen answered.
"We're not running or hiding anymore." Trystane said.
"We're going to Hyrule Castle and we're bringing the fight to Ganondorf." Impa said.
"Well then, might as well come with." the Queen said. "I'm afraid I've been confined to my bed chamber for the last month for 'acting out'...so I'm not current on things, where were the Zola keeping our army?"
"In a dungeon they built underneath your domain." Impa replied. "But it's okay, we let them out and they were quite eager to join our army." the Sheikah woman said with a grin as she gestured over the cliffside, the Ikanian Army rounding the corner led by King Igos du Ikana, the Hyrulean Zora military following in formation behind them.
"Looks like it's time." Lemuria said as she took a Seer's Stone from her pocket.
"We made sure you'll have an easy way in." Cia said from the other end. "Ganondorf and Semira are busy, Lana and I took down Kanthos, all you'll have to worry about is a Moblin here or there."
"Sounds good, we're en route." Lemuria answered.
"Let's show Ganondorf for the last time...not to mess with us." Impa answered.

Shilara climbed up a set of stairs, finally finding an exit after hours of traversing the sewers and long forgotten passages underneath Castle Town. She carefully pushed a wooden hatch aside, slowly pulling herself up onto the street. The Alleyway she found herself in was completely deserted, a mild fog having settled over it, the sounds of a ferocious battle echoing in the distance.
"Damn them all, I should be relaxing on my throne in Labrynna right now, not roaming sewers." she said derisively.
The Gerudo woman stopped as she rounded a corner, a mob of townspeople carrying makeshift weapons standing on the main thoroughfare, a group of Dragmire Imperium Soldiers standing in front of them.
"Go back to your homes!" one Soldier yelled.
"We know what the Emperor is! He's a Demon!" a man called.
"Saw it with our own eyes!" another man shouted.
"Go back to your homes or we'll be forced to take more active measures!" a Guard threatened.
"We're getting out of here!" a woman shouted.
"We're not going to be ruled by a Demon!" another voice chimed in.
"Fine then." the Guard said. "Kill them!" he called.
Groups of archers gathered on the rooftops, letting loose a barrage of arrows from their crossbows, the townspeople raising their hands defensively, opening their eyes to find the arrows stopped in mid-air.
"What the...?" the lead Guard began, stumbling back as the arrows turned and flew back at the guards that fired them, embedding in their throats.
"Things really have gone to shit around here with all of you in charge." Shilara said as she made her way out of the alley.
"You." the lead Guard growled.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Shilara said, snapping the man's neck with a wave of her hand. "I've had a pretty bad day, so you may not want to try me."
The other guards raised their shields and held their swords over them, advancing on the Gerudo woman.
"Fine then." Shilara said as she extended her arms, flames spreading across both her hands.
"Stop her!" one of the Guards yelled.
Shilara smirked as they charged at her, letting loose twin blasts of flame scattered her assailants, most coming to rest on the ground, flames consuming their bodies as they lay motionless, the survivors taking off down the nearest alleyway. Her smile vanished as she turned towards the mob, the people of Castle Town looking upon her with shocked expressions.
"What?" she asked.
"Who are you?" a man who seemed to be the leader asked.
"Doesn't matter, what does matter is that you want to be out there because you don't want them..." she began gesturing towards the Guards she slew "In here, right?"
"Y...yes." the man answered.
"Well come on then, I'll see us out." she said, the mob falling in behind her.

Link performed a horizontal slash, Ganondorf countering it with a vertical slash, the sword unleashing waves of energy every time they met. The Demon King levitated into the air and launch a barrage of energy blasts at Link, the Hero teleporting away from every one before disappearing.
Ganondorf raised an eyebrow, whirling around to find Link directly behind him, the Demon King raising an energy shield as Link brought the Master Sword down upon him, the force sending him smashing into the ground below.
"Having trouble?" a voice in his head echoed.
"You're not real." Ganondorf growled.
Link dropped back down to the ground opposite his nemesis and raised an eyebrow. "Just because I've become the Fierce Deity again doesn't mean I've ceased to exist."
"I wasn't speaking to you, boy." Ganon growled.
"Who is it you're talking to then?" Link asked.
"This conversation serves no purpose!" Ganondorf shouted as he raised an arm, letting loose a blast of crimson lightning, sending Fierce Deity Link sprawling.
"Dropped...my guard." Link groaned, opening his glowing white eyes to find Ganondorf dropping down upon him. Link managed to roll to the side, the Elder blade simply embedding itself in the ground next to him. He sprang to his feet and performed a series of diagonal slashes through the air, Ganondorf deflecting them with his blade before performing a jump attack, Link dodging to the side and stabbing at Ganon, the Demon King knocking his blade away with a horizontal leftwards slash.
"Even at full power you'll fall to our combined might." Ganondorf said, the voices of Demise, Majora and Mahlik layering over his own while his irises glowed an even brighter red.
"You say something like this every time we meet, so far it has yet to become true." Link replied.
"You seem to be forgetting the one instance, I believe it was eight incarnations ago for you...when I rammed my tusk through your chest and took you away from your beloved Princess." Ganondorf said with a grin.
"Master." Link heard, realizing it was Fi bridging their minds.
"What is it?" Link thought in response.
"What? Nothing to say, Hero?!" Ganondorf laughed.
"He's trying to stall us." Fi replied.
"Why would he do that?" Link asked.
"His true consciousness is trying to break free." the Sword Spirit answered.
Link focused on Ganondorf, using his abilities as a God to look through him, his energies were more chaotic than normal. "You don't want this any more, do you?" Link asked.
"Hm? Speak sense, boy." Ganondorf retorted.
"Containing three Demons in your body has fractured your essence, I can see this now." Link answered.
Ganondorf let out a harsh cackle before locking eyes with Link. "So you found the small part of myself that remains unchanged from before I remembered...and you thought you would...what? Appeal to that part of me?" Ganondorf asked before narrowing his eyes at his nemesis. "Pathetic!" he yelled as he shot as Link.
The Hero brought up his sword as Ganondorf crashed into him, their blades locked against each other as Link skidded backwards.
"You know you can't stay what you are forever." Link growled before leaning forward and head-butting Ganon square in the face, sending him stumbling backwards.
"Fight as much as you want, you've already lost." Ganondorf snarled.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that if I were you." Link said with a grin, gesturing over the hill.
Hundreds of battlecries were heard from the north as Igos Du Ikana lead the newly resurrected Ikanian forces into battle while a horn blew from the west, the joint Gamelonian and Labrynnian forces, lead by Sir Gabriel and Prince Erris joined the fight. From the south Elgon and Castion charged in, the Lokomo forces behind them while from the north came the united races of Termina, Lead by, the Zora Lulu, Japas, Evan and Tijo, the Gorons Darbrakus and Darmani, the Deku King and the two Gerudo leaders Sandrine and Shekilah.
Ganondorf looked on as his forces were surrounded and outnumbered at least three times over, everything he had built over this lifetime and the last falling apart, when suddenly an idea struck him. "Goodbye for now, Hero." he said with a grin.
"What do you-?!" Link said, cutting his sentence off as Ganondorf teleported away.

Din blocked a shadow tendril before firing a blast of orange energy, Semira transforming herself into a wall of shadow and flowing underneath it and into Din, knocking her back a few paces before the Goddess recovered and struck her dark counterpart with a blast of orange electricity.
"Your mortal armies can't save you, Sister!" Semira said, a manic grin spreading across her face.
"I don't need armies to defeat you." Din said, extending her hands to the sky, a column of energy nearly striking Semira, the Shadow Goddess teleporting out of the way. Din wasted no time in preparing her next attack, extending her arms and sending spires of rock flying from the ground at Semira.
The Dark Goddess smirked as she smashed each and every one with her bare hands before launching bolts of dark purple lightning at her Sister, Din combatting it with her own orange lightning, the two attacks emitting a brilliant glow as they met before a large crack rang out, the two streams of electricity canceling each other out.
"Not afraid of hurting little Hylia in her mortal 'Zelda' guise?" Semira asked with a mocking inflection.
Din tensed as Semira teleported in front of her, generating a blade of shadow over her hand and swiping it it Din, the Crimson Goddess fading to the side, avoiding the attack as she channeled her energy into her right hand. "Zelda wouldn't care how much she got hurt if it meant killing you!" Din answered as she caught Semira in the side of the face with a hook, knocking the Dark Goddess to the ground.
"You've gotten stronger, Sister." Semira said as she stood.
"Maybe you're just not as strong as you think." Din said.
"We'll have to see about that." Semira replied, shadow energy surging over her body.

Trystane froze a line of Bulblins as Marin smashed through them while Captain Keeta stabbed a Moblin through the chest before picking it up over his head and tossing it into a crowd of human soliders to his right.
"Really does remind me of Ginthorne." Trystane said as Volga burnt away a Stalfos with a jet of flame.
"He makes Ginthorne look normal by comaprison." Volga answered as he deflected a slash from an Imperium Soldier before stabbing his spear through the man's throat. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some Argoroks to kill." Volga said as he took on his dragon form and took to the skies.
"Trystane!" a call came.
"Thrakon?" the Knight asked.
"I was wondering if I'd see you here." the Mercenary said as he beat his way through a contingent of Lizalfos.
"A little under-dressed for battle, aren't you?' Trystane asked, using a blast of ice to hold off a group of Soldiers.
"Eh, a shirt, trousers and boots are all I need to take care of these guys." Thrakon replied.
"What happened to all your armor?" Trystane pressed.
"Kanthos blew it off, speaking of, Cia intervened and from the sound of it showed him what for...good woman you got there, old friend." Thrakon said with a grin. "Didn't come here to tell you just that though." Thrakon answered, after tossing a Moblin a good fifteen meters away.
"What's that?" Trystane asked as he froze a Dinolfos solid.
"Your father basically lead the initial charge on Castle Town." Thrakon replied.
"You know my father?" the Knight asked.
"I've been meaning to tell you, he's in pretty serious shape, but he's expected to pull through." the Sellsword answered.
"What happened?"
"Rickard Gavan."
Trystane took on a serious expression before charging off into the battle.
"Where are you going?" Thrakon called out.
"To find Rickard Gavan." Trystane answered.
"Last I saw of him we was in the other direction." the Mercenary responded.
Trystane, spun around before glancing at Thrakon. "Thank you." he said quietly before heading off.
"Don't think I'm not coming with-" Thrakon began when all of a sudden he noticed Ganondorf had levitated high up into the air above the battlefield. "What are you up to?" he asked. As if on queue the Demon King dropped an object, Thrakon watching as they plummeted to the ground.
"What's going on?" King Igos asked as he slashed a Bulblin in half.
Thrakon made to answer when all of a sudden the ground started quaking, Soldiers near the front lines running for their lives as it shattered like glass, Twinmold breaking forth. "What the hell..." Thrakon muttered.
"The spawn of Majora!" King Ikana called.
"So that's what it is." Thrakon muttered.

"What the hell do we do against those things?" Sandrine asked.
"You didn't tell me there would be giant monsters." Captain Shekilah replied.
"Don't tell me you're thinking of running." Sandrine answered.
"No, I just would have brought my cannons." the Pirate Captain responded.
"Wait, did you just see that?" Sandrine asked.
"See what?" the Captain asked.
Suddenly three green lights appeared in the sky, the glow fading away to reveal a giant being with a feminine form that appeared to be made of plant life while the one next to her appeared to be male and was made from tree roots and branches whilst another one appeared on his left that, while appearing blackened and slightly rotten, still exuded the same power as the other two.
oOo
Deku extended a hand, roots shooting from his arm and binding one of the monsters in place.
"It's good to back." he called out.
Macku lifted her arms, generating a massive amount of Deku seeds which fell like hail on the other red-colored Twinmold, the creature screeching and writhing around as the seeds stunned it.
Baga leaned back before jolting upright, a purple poison mist spraying from his mouth towards the red Twinmold, causing it to collapse.
Deku levitated to the ground and gave his roots a hard jerk, the blue Twinmold falling next to him before lunging forward, it's pincers barely missing the Forest Deity.
Macku flew forward, delivering a kick to the Red Twinmold's head as it recovered, the beast shrugging her off.
"They're strong." she remarked.
"Bigger than us, too." Baga said as he summoned some vines from the ground, the red Twinmold breaking through them.
"A little assistance maybe." Deku called out as the blue Twinmold did the same, ripping through the vines before snapping forward, clinching Deku in it's jaws.
A short distance away Ganondorf grinned, Twinmold had managed to take out much of the opposing force with it's arrival alone.
"I thought running away wasn't your style." Link said as he reappeared, slashing at Ganondorf.
Ganon caught the slash with the Elder Blade, grinning at the Hero. "The arrival of the Forest Gods was unexpected, but it doesn't seem to be amounting to much."
"Good thing I called in some help then." Link replied.
"It can't be!" Ganon replied.
In the distance four distinct bellows could be heard, the four Giants appearing on the horizon as the sun began to set.
"I imprisoned them." Ganondorf hissed.
"It was well within my powers to get them out." Link responded.
A bright white light was cast over the battlefield as the five Terminian Great Fairies appeared in the sky over the battlefield, raining down bolts of energy on Ganondorf and Semira's forces.
"Damn you!" Ganondorf roared as a red aura rose around him.
Link readied himself as the Demon King charged, the Hero ducking as Ganondorf swung the Master Sword overhead. "Now you're the one who's dropped their guard!" Link called out as he pushed up, tackling Ganondorf from their spot on the Castle Wall, the two plummeting to the ground. Link was the first to recover, looking up to find the Forest Deities restraining Twinmold, the four Giants splitting into pairs and both grabbing one end of each beast, tearing them in half while the Great Fairies held their position over the battle, burning away what was left of the Dragmire Imperium aligned forces.
"Link!" a voice shouted.
Din stood behind Semira, an arm around the Dark Goddesses neck while the other held her arms behind her back. "I can't hold her for long!"
Semira roared with rage, blades of shadow extending from her back and impaling Din, the Goddess crying out in pain.
"Quickly, Link!"
"Sages, are you together?" called out telepathically.
oOo
Cia teleported in with Naora and Kyra while Lana had retrieved Saria and Impa.
"Alright everyone, this is it." Elgon said as he gathered with the other Sages.
A bright orange blast of flame hit the ground near them, Erris emerging from the fireball.
"A bit much, don't you think?" Impa asked.
"Certainly knows how to make an entrance." Elgon said with a shrug.
"The Sages are gathered, we're in a safe location." Cia answered.
The Sages formed into a circles, Elgon standing in the center, a golden orb of light forming between his hands.
"Change of plans." Link replied "Aim for Semira, I can handle Ganondorf on my own."
"Are you sure?" Cia asked.
"Right now Semira's more of a threat, Din's managed to give us the opening we need, but we must act now." Link answered.
"What's going on?" Impa asked.
"Link says he's going to take Ganondorf on his own, wants us to go for Semira." Cia answered.
"Works for me." Erris answered as a red ball of energy formed between his hands.
"This feels so...strange." Naora said, an orange ball of energy coming to life in her hands.
Saria looked over at Kyra, giving the young girl a smile, their own energies manifesting in their hands.
Impa looked down as a ball of violet energy came forth between her hands, all of their powers fusing into one white light.
"Good luck." Lana said with grin.
"Let's end this." Impa said.
All the Sages bowed their heads, forming into a stream of white energy.
oOo
"What is this? What are you doing to me?" Semira said.
Din coughed, blood spilling over her lips, staying silent as the Sage's combined energy raced towards them, illuminating the entire battlefield.
"No! I can't lose! Not like this! Not ever!" Semira roared, sending all manner of blades and attacks at her Sister, Din still holding on through the assault.
The Crimson Goddess let out a cry as the white wave of energy hit them, knocking her away as it passed through and around Semira.
"Damn you, Sister! Damn you, Hero! Damn you all!" she screamed as she was purged from Zelda's body, her shadows seeming to burn away completely.
"Little Sister!" Din said as she leapt over to Zelda, catching her as she fell.
"Zelda! Is she..." Link said as he teleported over to them.
"I...I don't know, she won't wake up and her pulse is weak, Semira may have consumed too much of her energy." Din said.
"Zelda, please wake up...don't leave me." Link said, reaching out and clasping her hand.
"Wake up...don't leave." a voice came, a taunting inflection to it.
Link and Din both shot to their feet, readying themselves as Semira manifested in a body of her own creation.
"You know you can't hold that form for long, you don't have the strength." Din said.
"She doesn't have to." Ganondorf said as he materialized behind her.
"Merge with me, my Sons, we will become the Great Darkness once again, the universe will be consumed by us." Semira said.
"No." Ganondorf replied.
"What?" You dare-" Semira began, inhaling sharply as Ganondorf stabbed the Elder Blade through her chest.
"The Triforce is mine, this universe is mine...you have no place in it anymore mother." Ganondorf said as he pulled the sword free. Semira began to fall forward, the Demon King placing a hand on her shoulder before punching his other hand through her chest, the other two pieces of the Triforce in his grip as he pulled it out.
"You...I should have never created you...I should have never allowed any of this to be created...I may be destined for oblivion...but before I go I'll make sure I rectify that mistake." Semira said as her essence leaked from the wounds Ganondorf had inflicted upon her. "I'm ending all of this!" she said as she extended her hand, a rift opening in the air next to her.
"I won't let you escape!" Link called out as he plunged in after her.
And everything was black...suddenly Link realized he was hurtling towards something, the darkness seemed to open up, a light enveloping everything around him, it was somehow everywhere and everything at once.
"Master, it appears Semira's used the last of her energy to travel back to the beginning." Fi observed.
"Awful casual way of stating that." Link replied as he looked around. It was the Vast Energy, the force that Din, Nayru, Farore and Hylia as well as the Universe itself was born from. Link turned to see Semira, barely alive exit the void they entered through.
"You can't stop me." she said weakly.
Link shot forward, Semira responded with a blast of dark energy, Link easily deflecting it before pulling the Master Sword back and running it through the Dark Goddess.
"You're already too late." Semira said as her body disintegrated.
The golden energy surrounding them suddenly rippled, beginning to ungulate as if it were in pain.
"No." Link said as darkness began to spread throughout the Vast Energy, corrupting it...killing it.
"Wait...Link said, watching as the Energy defended itself, severing it's corrupted portion, a gap of nothingness forming between the light and the shadow. "This is how it began, the portion that was corrupted...Semira went back...and created herself."
"Master, we must leave before the Goddesses come into being, the temporal effects could-" Fi began.
"I know...in the creation story, it's said the Fierce Deity just appeared, not even the Goddesses know where he came from...but I know now." Link said.
The Hero took one last look at himself as he was now. "I'm going to miss this." he said. Link tilted his head up, his body glowing a bright white as he separated into two, Link regaining his mortal form while the Fierce Deity levitated across from him.
"This is what has to be done." the Fierce Deity assured him.
"It was nice to be the Fierce Deity one last time." Link said.
"Goodbye, my other half." the Fierce Deity said.
Link closed his eyes as he felt himself being pulled back to his native time frame, reality restoring itself.
oOo
"Go, head south, you'll be safe there until this is over." Shilara said as she and the townspeople emerged from a passageway that lead out of Castle Town.
"What about you?" a man asked.
"I've got someone to see." Shilara said as she started off.
oOo
Din and Ganondorf momentarily paused as the Fierce Deity stepped into the rift after Semira, only for Link in his mortal form to exit one second later.
"Link, what happened...you...you're..." din began.
"Mortal? Listen." the Hero began as he got to his feet, brandishing the Master Sword. "I just created myself and my head still kind of hurts after thinking of the metaphysics behind it, so I'm not quite in the mood for you right now." he said.
"As well as I'm not in the mood for you." Ganondorf said as he extended his arm at Link, a torrent of energy knocking the Hero onto his back. "Giving up your powers was the most foolish thing you've ever done, boy...and you..." Ganondorf said, setting his sights on Din. "You are too late!" he said as he called on the power of the Triforce, shooting a beam of red energy through her, the same Kanthos used in Termina, to hold her in place. The Triforce assembled itself in mid-air next to him. "I wish for this universe to be-"
"Kai!" a voice called.
Ganondorf turned to find his own parents standing opposite him, his mother and father locking eyes with him.
"This is enough." Orvik said.
"What have you come here to do, appeal to your son?" Ganondorf cackled. "All you ever were were tools to bring me into this world, your role ended after that."
"Mother, Father?!" another voice called.
"You have to be joking." Ganondorf said as Shilara arrived on scene.
"Shilara...I wish I could spare you from this." Kali said as she pulled Din's Fire from under her robes.
"What is this?" Ganondorf asked.
"You've been our responsibility from the start...Koume' and Kotake' prepared this just for you...we're ridding the world of you once and for all." Kali said as she placed her hand on the artifact.
Kali, Orvik and Shilara flinched as it exploded, the ball of flame expanding outwards in an instant when suddenly it began to shrink back down, Ganondorf pulling it back into his hands, snuffing the blast out between his palms.
"Good effort, but it was no match for me." the Demon King said.
"I should have killed you much earlier!" Ganondorf said as he extended his arm, a red bolt of energy roaring to life in his palm, aimed directly at Kali and Orvik only for his whole body to freeze.
"No." it came quietly at first. "No!" he head again as it built up. "No. No. No. No. NO!" Kai's voice came, deafeningly, maddeningly loud.
Link got to his feet as Ganondorf suddenly screamed "NO!", it was loud and pained cry, something he had never heard from Ganondorf before...he'd be lying if he said it didn't unnerve him.
"Get...out...of...ME!" Ganondorf said as he dug his fingers into his chest, the screams of Mahlik, Majora and Demise filling the air as they tore free from Ganon's body, the Gerudo man's skin returning to it's green hue while his hair became red again, the horns that sprouted from his brow turning to dust as they fell from his head.
oOo
"This is it." Erris said as he shed his armor and his shirt, spreading his arms.
"Erris, what are you doing?" Cia asked.
"Righting a wrong." the Prince answered.
Not far from them a three columns of smoke, one dark blue, one black and one red, Mahlik, Demise and Majora twistied around themselves in the air, the blue stream of smoke suddenly making a turn for Erris.
"That's right, welcome home." the Prince said.
Suddenly King Daltus leapt in front of him, the same containment spell etched into his skin.
"Wait...what are you doing?!" Erris called out.
"You were just a boy and I was a cruel, arrogant King...let me atone." the King said as Mahlik was forcibly pulled to them by the spell, roaring as he was sucked into the King's body through a sigil on his chest. Daltus let out a cry as he was suddenly thrown to the left, Mahlik desperately trying to leave his body. "You have to get the Master Sword...you have to kill me." the King said.
"Erris, it's the only way." Cia said.
"Right...thank you." the Prince said, looking down at the King.
oOo
"Ready?" Abin asked.
"Not really, but do we really have any other option?" Elgon asked as Abin held the left side of the mask with both hands, Elgon holding the right.
"He's upon us." Abin said as Majora's red smoke coiled above them.
"At least I won't have him possessing my body this time." Elgon replied.
The pull of the Mask sucked Majora down to Earth, the ancient Demon clawing at the earth and snarling in rage as it was resealed within the Mask, the eyes glowing yellow for a second or two before going dark.
Both men shook with effort as Majora entered the mask, falling over once the job was done.
"Glad that's over." Abin said.
"Ever think about just throwing that thing into Death Mountain crater?" Elgon asked.
oOo
Link staggered to his feet as Demise, in his smoke form returned to Earth, coalescing above the ground before physically manifesting.
"It's good to be rid of that wretched mortal body once and for all...as well it's pleasing to see you again, I've dreamt of killing you in my true from for centuries, today this dream will be realized." Demise said with a laugh.
"Is...he dead?" Orvik asked, looking down at Ganondorf's mortal form.
Suddenly Kali charged forward, scimitar at the ready, while Shilara sent a barrage of fireballs towards the Demon, Demise waving his hand and blasting them away with a shockwave.
Link braced himself against it, standing firm. "So it's all come down to this...I won't fall to you." the Hero said.
"You have no choice!" Demise roared as he pointed his arm at Link, a massive torrent of dark energy heading towards him.
The Hero charged into it, Master Sword held in front of him, the stream of dark energy pushing him back. Suddenly two powerful hands gripped his, Link turning to find Ganondorf joining him.
"Don't look at me, boy, press on." the Gerudo man said.
"This is impossible! You can't be alive!" Demise called out.
"Link and Ganondorf nodded at each other as they used their combined strength to push though the wave of dark energy, Demise trying as hard as he may to hold them back.
Din cried out as the red energy beam was pulled from her, looking up to find Zelda awake and well.
"Rest, Sister, I can take it from here." the Princess said. Zelda raised her hands, her light bow manifesting within them. "Take this, Druthilidi." she said as she pulled back a light arrow, launching it directly into Demise.
"Ah! No!" Demise cried out, his energy faltering long enough for Ganondorf and Link to push through, the Master Sword stabbing straight through the Demon King, Demise crying out as she staggered backwards, the Master Sword still impaling his chest.
"This time you won't have a body to return in." Ganondorf growled.
Demise let loose one last scream as light energy spread through him, his body crumbling and cracking before exploding in a brilliant white light, leaving nothing behind.
Zelda ran over to Link, skidding to a halt as Ganondorf stood between them.
"Oh calm down, I just helped you, didn't I." Ganondorf replied.
"Excuse me for being skeptical." the Princess said.
"Zelda!" Link said as he ran past Ganon, the Princess strode forward, embracing Link, the Hero returning it tenfold. "I thought I'd lost you.." he said.
"You'll never lose me, I live for you." Zelda said with a warm smile.
"I think I may take ill." Ganondorf said as he faced away.
Kali and Orvik slowly made their way over to him. "Kai?" Orvik asked.
"No." Ganondorf said. "Kai never existed...I've always been Ganondorf...I just don't have a Demon pulling my strings anymore."
"I've got nothing to say." Shilara said, facing away from him.
"I'd expect no less." Ganondorf said, walking away.
"After all this you're just going to leave?" Link asked.
"Yes...yes I am." Ganondorf said, extending a hand. "Come, Ghirahim." he said, the Elder Blade returning to his grip.
"He's still loyal to you?" Zelda asked.
"I am the one that reforged him, so of course he is...I have something of yours." Ganondorf said, turning to face Link and Zelda, the two tensing as he outstretched his arm and opened his hand, the Hero and Princess watching as their parts of the Trifroce returned to them.
"Ganon...I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank you." Link said, looking up to find he had vanished.
"Link!" Erris called as he stumbled over to them, the King hanging off of him. "He's contained Mahlik inside of him...we need to use the Master Sword." the Prince said.
"There has to be another way." Audrik said as he followed behind them, blood stains on his clothes. "After all of that, I'm not losing my father."
"Neither am I." Zelda said as she stepped past Link.
"Princess...you're back." Erris stammered.
"Step aside." Zelda demanded. "Father, what have you done?" she asked.
"Please, use the Master Sword on me." the King pleaded.
"No." Zelda said, placing her hand on his forehead. the King let out a pained cry, even Erris cringing as light surged throughout his body, columns of light energy exiting his eyes and mouth before he suddenly fell over.
"What did you do?" Audrik asked.
"Ended Mahlik for good." Zelda answered.
"Just...just like that? He was powerful...very powerful, I had him in my body...I would know." Erris said.
"While Semira was inhabiting my body I hid my consciousness from her to stop her from snuffing me out for good...it gave me a lot of time to explore my power and find where it came from...and I've realized something...I'm not just Hylia, I'm the last surviving portion of the energy that this universe was formed from. Farore, Nayru and Din were fragments of that light, but I am whole." the Princess said, looking over at the resting Goddess.
"What now?" Link asked.
"We have the Triforce, the Great Fairies, the Four Giants, all three Forest Deities and Din...we'll rebuild." Zelda said, the aforementioned entities gathering around them.
oOo
Regrettably, he had to say goodbye to his old friend Gaepora..."A parting is always soon to follow." Abin thought, but his life as the Mask's guardian was a solitary one.
Abin was roused from his thoughts as he heard a rustling behind him, turning to find nothing when he investigated.
"Who are you?" Abin asked as he sensed the presence behind him. The Salesman whirled around, locking his eyes with two burning orange irises.
Kanthos struck the man through the stomach with his blade, grabbing his pack as he fell. "I'll be taking that mask." the Sorcerer said.
"No, don't...you don't understand." Abin argued.
"No...I understand perfectly...it's not over for them...I'm ending this world." Kanthos replied before turning and slaying the main with a bolt of lightning, a grin forming in his face, his laughter echoing throughout the forest.
oOo
And that concludes chapter 58, my longest chapter by FAR, coming in at over 15,000 words! Thank you all so much for your ongoing support over the three years I've been writing this, you've all been invaluable to the story's progress! The World at War isn't over yet though! The main story may be concluded, but that's not it.
As for Trystane's fight with Rickard Gavan, you'll see the result of that in the next chapter!
Gerudospirit: Thank you, I'm glad you liked the whole Ikana, scene, especially the Gibdo puzzle, I had to do a play through to make sure it was accurate! I guess all I have to say is that the Link in this era remembers being the Hero of Time so he wanted to make sure he knew he would win, especially after a quick trip to the Hero Defeated timeline back in chapters sixteen and seventeen. Semira was quite the villain and I wish I had brought her in so much sooner, but I feel like I did the best I could with her and I'm going to miss writing her scenes. Shilara isn't quite a 'good guy' yet, but she's recovered enough to realize there's more to life than the way she was living it, she led that mob out of town kind of out of wanting to help but kind of because she wanted to make sure she had her own small army in case they ran into trouble getting out of town. I'm so glad you liked the ending as well as I'm happy you're a fan of my character development, I was worried I was lacking in that department. As for my longwindedness...I don't know, I just sit down and it comes to me...no need to be envious though, sometimes you accomplish more in shorter chapters what I do in my longer ones. Thank you for reviewing!
Ultimate Blazer: Thank you, you'll get one of those very soon!
Nayru's Wishes: I am so happy to hear your enjoying my fic so far! Hopefully you've caught up or will catch up soon! I'm grateful to hear you're hooked, thank you for your support!
As for all of those who clicked those favorite and follow buttons, you guys are continuing sources of inspiration for me! Thank you!
Alright, we've got two more chapters to go and with that said, I'm sure some of you remember Chapter Nine "Dreams and Memories" in which Link had a flash back to his former life that has him racing to save Zelda as Ganondorf takes the town and a tense meeting with his rival and Zelda's former betrothed, Jakob Lirien. I'm going to be writing a prequel about that era once this fic is over, I hope you enjoy that one too!
Before I sign off, I just wanted to say that; if you were having trouble nailing down what Aveil was saying when she mentioned the burning smell and disorientation, it was a stroke. All of that stress led her to have one and left her in the state we saw her in before Din healed her.
Thank you all for reading, I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
