Chapter 19: The Fire Demons

I knitted my brows together in determination as I picked myself off the ground, I grabbed my staff and ran at her as she ran at me our staffs swung colliding with a thud and with each swipe of our staffs it created the air to gush around us leaving some dust to build up. Minutes turned into an hour, Kirara had joint in and with every hit and block against Sango's staff, every dodge against both Sango and Kirara I began to push aside my past the horrible memories, my inner demon the beast who killed my own brethren. I blocked Sango's hit and did a low sweep kick that made her fall to the ground with a thud I pressed my staff to her chest lightly "I win" I said with a smirk Sango laughed "Actually I think Kirara wins this one" Sango said my eyes widened. I turned around just to get pounced on by Kirara she gave a growling roar in victory I laughed as did Sango, Sango got and came over to us, Kirara was cuddling up against me purring, I went to get up and Kirara laid on top of me.

I groaned at how heavy she was "Sango help" I said she just laughed "I think this may just be your chance to prove how strong you are" she said teasingly with a smile I gave her a stunned look "What?!" I exclaimed. "Besides you guys get to bond more, have fun" Sango said and walked off back to the others "Wait Sango! Please she's a lot heavy you then you think!" I exclaimed Sango just kept walking "Sango!" I yelled Kirara started purring but in a bad way she'd fallen asleep and I was struggling to get out from under her. "Please wake up Kirara…." I said Kirara just cuddled against me purring peacefully I sighed in defeat I looked to the sun was fully visible, surely someone is up by now I suddenly started to feel a disturbance in the water around the area it was getting hot "Kirara you have to get up now please some thing is wrong with the water" I said as I nudged her. Kirara rolled on her side and went back to sleep "What's going on? Kirara please get up" I said as I nudged her again, she turned small but still slept "Some thing is definitely not right" I muttered as I picked her up I could feel heat up ahead in the open field, I walked over cautiously.

"Yuzuki! Yuzuki some thing is wrong with the water!" Sango yelled out I looked back to see Sango and Kagome running over to me just then I heard the ground crack I looked down to see this whole field was like a trap, the ground was going to open up. I looked back to Kagome and Sango "Stay there!" I yelled they stopped "Yuzuki what's wrong?" Kagome asked I felt the ground shake beneath me as loud rumbling sounds of the ground parting echoed out "Catch Kirara!" I exclaimed as I threw Kirara Sango caught her. "Now run! Get away from here!" I yelled "We can't just leave you here" Kagome exclaimed "Yes you can I'll be fine just go!" I said "Yuzuki watch out!" Sango exclaimed I looked back to see the ground part behind me I ran towards Kagome and Sango I was stepping on rocks, pieces of ground that were falling down into the earth. I reached out my hand to grab Kagome's hand but I couldn't reach and ending up falling down into the darkness "Yuzuki!" Sango and Kagome voices trailed after me, I hit a rocky surface and rolled down rock and dirt, I hit the ground with a thud and rolled over knocking my head on something hard, I drifted off to sleep.

My body felt hot and in throbbing pain, the smell of my blood filled the air, I could feel my feet were tied together and so were my hands "Let's go move it, the boss wants to dispose of her quickly before she wakes" a hoarse males voice rang out. A chain around my feet was pulled, dragging me across the hard rocky ground cutting my skin, I frowned trying not to make a noise, I slightly opened my eyes to see demons that had a rock like appearance and crimson eyes burning like a fire. I closed my eyes these must be the fire demons if I wait just a little longer I may just be able to meet the fire demon leader and destroy him another plus is the others aren't here to get hurt but on the downside it's just me against the leader and his tribe. "What's taking so long?! move it!" the hoarse man's voice echoed out with agitation "She's out sir, I can't see why the boss is worried about such a weak half wolf demon anyways" another man's voice spoke out in boredom "How about the boss settles for your head instead then?" the hoarse man's voice questioned "Uh no her heads fine let's move it on the double then" the other man said with fear in his voice.

I got dragged a little further I was barely holding in the groans of being dragged along the ground, the closer we got the rougher and hotter the ground became, I was sweating and felt so drained, Tsuyoshi was right this was going to be hard. "What took you idiots so long?!" a loud, obnoxious, deep males voice bellowed "Sorry boss I told these parasites to move it yet they questioned why we were in such a hurry" the hoarse man's voice replied "Is that so… Whoever asked the question step forward" the obnoxious, deep voice said in a calm way. I slightly opened my eyes to see a giant demon almost the size of the panther demon leader, he looked like the others but had a tail and at the end of the tail it was a spear tip shape he also had horn like antlers on the top of his head, he wore a metal samurai looking outfit that was black with red and gold detail. What on earth? He's massive, the leader smiled in an almost trance like state at the demon who stepped forward slightly quivering in fear "Give my regards to the others" the leader said as his obnoxious voice turned to bone chilling one, his hand engulfed in flames as he picked up the demon.

The demon screamed and cried out in pain as the leader intensified the flames and squished him in his grip, he left the limp, crisp demon fall to the ground with a thud, I looked back at the leader how am I meant to defeat that? Oh mother please give me strength. "So this half demon is the cause of my troubles, good work on the capture how did you manage it?" the leader asked as I clamped my eyes shut hoping he didn't catch me staring at him "She and her allies were on their way here, the trap field worked to our advantage though since we have only got her, her allies will be looking for her" the hoarse man's voice replied. "Tie her to the post we shall sacrifice her to our gods and become stronger against the water, bit by bit we are getting stronger" the leader said in triumph "Yes boss and what of her allies? They will come for her" the hoarse voice asked "Do what you want with them don't ask such ridiculous questions, if they are powerful then lock them away until I have need for them" the leader replied in agitation. "Yes boss, alright men you heard him, you and you tie the girl up, you lot over there stay with the leader the rest of you come with me we'll take care of her allies" the hoarse man's voice echoed out, I was picked up and dragged yet again as the clinking of metal and cheering rung out.

I got held up, it was hard to let my body relax and be limp when they were being so rough, I felt myself getting chained up to a post, the chains that held my hands together was hooked on to some sort of hook, leaving me to hang like a piece of meat. Damn it this hurts, I opened my eyes slightly my fringe covered my eyes as long as I kept my head down limp against my chest, I saw the group of demons run out with weapons some that I had seen at Sango's demon slayer village. Please be ok guys hopefully this guy isn't as tough as he seems and I can get out and help you all, I tried to summon water but every time I did it evaporated, this is impossible how can I create water if I can't even bring water into a hot place like this. I frowned in thought "Uh disgusting how others sweat in such warmth" a demon said in disgust "I know there disgusting" another said that's it water I have water inside me, sweat is water, I just need to concentrate on getting water around my chains then I can turn it to ice and break out.

I closed my eyes and felt the water around my hands, that's it now hopefully this works I knitted my brows together and turned it to ice "Ice!" a demon shouted damn it this doesn't give me much time I used all my strength and got out of the chains around my hands. I fell to the floor landing on one knee I stood up and looked at the leader as demons came over surrounding me, pointing the spears, swords and other weapons at me "Don't crowed the woman, give her space..." the leader said calmly. I looked at him in curiosity he has to be up to something, I glanced back to see the chains at my feet were chained to the post as well I let water surround the chains around my feet "I'm quite surprised at you half breed, how long have you been awake?" the leader asked I narrowed my eyes he knew? I knitted my brows together. "Long enough to see you slaughter your own tribe members" I said refraining from growling he chuckled "What's so funny?" I growled as I turned the water to ice "You don't even realise it but you're already dead" the leader snickered as a smirk formed on his face allowing his razer fangs to show.

"I'm not dying today" I snapped "When I'm done with you there will be nothing left but a small pile of ash" the leader said my lip curled up as I growled allowing my fangs to show, I extended my claws and leapt at the leader breaking the chains around my feet. My body was still weak but I couldn't give up not now, a demon's spear flew towards me and I jumped back just in time, I stood on the rock hard ground that burnt my feet "You want me dead you do it yourself no interference, no tricks just you and me" I snapped. The leader raised a brow and then gave a nod of his head "Very well half breed not that it will make a difference, no one interferes in our battle, stand back and out of the way" the leader said then smiled, his smile sent shivers down my spine, mother lend me your strength in hopes that I may expand my power and free these fire demons from their horrid leader. I went to grab my katana but it wasn't there the leader laughed "You really think I'd allow you a weapon?" he questioned as he laughter rung out I was hoping a katana with my water sorcery would be a plus but Tsuyoshi did say only water sorcery, let's hope I can do this by that alone.

I knitted my brows together "Fine by me you waste of hot air!" I taunted he stopped laughing and gave me a glare and growled as he clenched his hands in to fists as he did his hands engulfed in flames "You'll regret saying that half breed" the leader puffed. I raised a brow "Yeah I do now" I said he grinned "You're a waste of space not just hot air!" I exclaimed he frowned as his whole body engulfed in flames and shot a wall of fire my way, oh lord I jumped out of the way rolling across the ground just as I got up a fir ball headed my way. Taunting probably wasn't the best idea, I jumped out of the way dodging fire balls and walls of fire that were sent my way this is going to go on forever I have to make some sort of first attack but he's sending attack after attack "Stand still half breed!" the leader bellowed. That's it "Alright you want me, here I am" I said and stood still he's eyes filled with triumph I closed my eyes and concentrated on building up all the water I could sense within me and in the air around this underground cave just as I opened my eyes to form a barrier a huge fire ball was sent my way.
