AN: Hey everyone! So before I get into this chapter I just want to give a big thanks to those who favorited, followed and reviewed my story those far. I do want to give a mini shout out to CaitHawke4Ever, who has reviewed all the new chapters since returning to write. And to -279 who has also done the same. These really means a lot to me, not because I want to see my review count go up. But because I gave up writing a long time ago and I always believed I had really crappy writing skills. Then just last week I was about to delete all my stories, but I had deiced to re-read Butterflies (my first ever fic) and I regained my passion for this story back, and now I'm here! Truly, your kind words really really make a difference to me. So thank you *Virtual hugs*
Another Note, you may have seen I changed the title of my story from Butterflies, to Beautiful Chaos. I did this because I believe this new title really fits more with the story I am trying to tell. And as much as it saddens me to rid a title I had for 8 years its time for a change.
Second, to last, I know in the few past chapters I had gotten a tiny bit steamy between the two main characters, Mai and Naru. I just want to say that I WILL NOT go into graphic details if the time comes to them elevating their relationship. I do personally like reading about hot and spicy teasing between two characters. So I will continue to write what I would want to read. I will go into slight detail in a lustful scene but not into a sexual one (hopefully that made sense). This story is rated T for teen and will not go into M rated for mature adult content. That being said, Naru is a very scientific character he would not sugar coat a body part, but I will in certain cases. Also remember, they [Mai and Naru] are still teenagers (17-18), they are starting/going through that time in biology that their hormones are very heightened. I do apologize if this material makes you uncomfortable, but as a writer, I don't want to sacrifice my ideas and story to make others happy...sorry.
Lastly, I promise, If you do have any ideas for future cases, please let me know! Chapter 15
Saturday, May 12th : Morning
Davis Manor
He had woken an hour earlier, careful not to wake the girl sharing his bed drunk in sleep. He watched her, with doting eyes as she slept. The rays of the early morning sun danced on her tanning milky skin. Eyes fluttering as she dreamed, long dark lashes casting slight shadows on her freckled cheeks. Her hair was like aged whiskey, the color of the first autumn leaves, damp with morning dew, like peering at the sun through a jar of pine honey tasseled and tangled in a beautiful river of molten amber. Her chest rose and fell with each intake of breath. Her toned abdomen completely bare due to the rising of her knitted sweater, exposed her white lace underwear, barely covering her bottom. He sighed, seeing more of his assistant then any boss should. But like any normal teenager, he did have hormones that irradiated him to no end. And she brought that out, barely even able to control himself around her. Which was nerve wrecking for him, to not have utter control over his body? He would never force himself on her, no he was not stupid. Just deeply attracted to her. The way the sun contoured her legs, his fingers twitched in desperation to trace her warm skin, and the lines of her stomach. He gazed at her parted rose colored lips, soft and plump. Needing to feel them between his, what she tasted like, how she felt beneath him...just thinking about the way she looked on top him in the late moonlight. He stood quickly, hot to the core and padded off to the waiting cold shower.
Expecting the girl to awaken from the sound of the shower running, he was pleasantly surprised that she still laid in a deep slumber ten minutes later. Standing above her, debating to wake the sleeping beauty he became lost in thought about her, ironically his eyes just so happened to be locked on the rising and falling chest of her, not noticing the chocolate copper eyes staring back
"Thirty-two C," Mai said groggily breaking her boss's train of thought. She sat on the side of her left hip, knees laid to the right slightly bent. Putting mostly all her weight on her left arm she rubbed her eyes with her right hand. Part of her knitted sweater slid off her left shoulder, dropped past her elbow, unconsciously showing a little to much of her bare breast. He felt the heat rise in his body as he stared lustfully at her. Needing to kiss her slowly...passionately. Wanting to finally make her his.
"Excuse me?" trying to control himself. Mai just smiled and rolled her eyes
"You were staring at my chest. Just thought I'd make it easier on you" she stood, swayed. He wanted to reach out to help her balance. But he knew if he did, he would lose all the control he had in the moment "My head hurts" Mai wined
"Its called a hangover" Mai slapped his bare chest, still wet from the shower
"I know what it is called stupid" she sat back down on his bed and cupped her head "the light is hurting my eyes" she groaned as she rubbed them
"I told you last night to stop drinking. This is your own fault" with the mention of the night that had past, Mai jumped to her feet, looking between herself and the man before her. Panic in her eyes
"D-did we doing anything?" now just realizing she wasn't in her own room "I don't remember anything after we talked last night" running her hands through her hair "Oh my God – Oh my God"
"Relax Mai, nothing happened," he told her
"You sure?" Naru rolled his eyes with annoyance
"You were drunk. Banged on my door at two in the morning and then proceeded to fall asleep on my bed" her shoulders relaxed
"Thank goodness" she sat back down and looked around the secret layer of Naru. Light blue walls and dark wood floors. The room was as huge as hers, rightly so for a Lord. Two large windows covered in white thick curtains boarded two balcony doors, overlooking the gardens as well to the left of her. His king sized bed was in the middle, dressed in white and cream colored sheets, topped with a feather duvet and matching pillows. Near the last window was a door leading to a master bath. In front of her was an entire wall of books and awards. A desk in the middle of it all with a television above mounted to the wall. The right of her, was his bedroom door, a seating area with a cream color sofa, two matching armchairs and a wooden coffee table topped with folders, books, and loose papers. Crystal chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceilings. It was very basic.
The desk and bookshelves intrigued her. Passing the still towel-clad boy she made her way there. Looking at all the books he had, all science and paranormal "Do you read anything that doesn't educate you?"
"Why would I do that?"
"I don't know. Add some creativity in your life." Mai flipped some of the books, becoming bored quickly she put them back where she had found them. Running her fingers across the desk, she looked through some papers
"Nosy much" he stated, Mai looked back at him and smiled
"Didn't you do this at my place?" he raised a single eyebrow in response "Plus, I want to get to know you a little better"
"I don't do small talk" she huffed at what he said. On one of the shelves where pictures, some when he and gene were younger, their first day at school, when he got his first award, family portraits, when he graduated high school and university and in the mist of it all was a double frame. Inside was a picture of the SPR gang all together….then a single picture of her, a candid shot of her in the park. Her pink dress fluttered in the wind, holding her floppy hat in mid-laugh. She remembered this day. Madoka, Ayako and her had gone to brunch that day….right before they had left for England. She took it from the shelf and slowly turned around
"H-Ho – Wh-" she couldn't wrap her head around the concept of the photo
"It was a gift from Madoka" he crossed his arm. Mai could feel the anger build, hands began to shake. She pushed past him and threw the photo on the bed, making her way to the door
"Mai" Naru called after her. Ignoring him she touched the handle of the door. Suddenly she was flipped and gently pushed against the wall. Naru loomed over her, his hand placed next to her head, blocking her exit
"Let me leave," she said with irritation. Naru had just looked at her with those nonintoxicating blue eyes of his "Naru I said-" she was cut off. Heart thumbed hard against her chest. His forehead rested on hers, noses crossing, his thumb pressed to her lips as he cupped her chin.
"You don't know how desperately I want to kiss you" he seductively said as he traced her lips. Mai took a sharp intake of breath, eyes wide as could be
"Then do it" she whispered, peering into his eyes. She placed her hands on his chest. Running her fingers lightly over the muscles he secretly had. He growled at her touch, In a swift move moment he lifted her off the ground, and held her firmly against the wall. Just so they were leveled
"N-Naru" surprised. Mai wrapped her bare legs around his waist, helping him balance her. His eyes turned as blue as the midnight sky. Her core becoming hot with the touch of his fingers running themselves up and down her thigh. Trembling with pleasure. He stopped and cupped her bottom, fingering the thin lace of her cheekies she wore.
"You've been teasing me with these all night and morning" he whispered into her ears
"You've been teasing me since we landed in England" she moaned out with lust as he traced his tongue over a small portion of her exposed collarbone "Please" she begged
"Please what?" slyly asking. Mai pulled at his tasseled wet hair and made him look at her
"Kiss me" she purred at his lips. Mai felt him smile against hers, barely touching. They looked at each other for a few moments before Naru looked away. Gently placing her back down at her feet and pushing away the dumbfounded girl.
"You should go" he turned away from her. Bewildered at his change in mood
"What?!" she was shocked and very confused "No. You don't get to do this! You don't get to mess with my feelings like this!"
"Mai" Naru looked to her, tears already in her eyes. He hated to see them, to see her cry. Especially if he was a fault of those tears "This is for the best"
"I'm sorry?" she felt the air shift around her feet. The past few days Kat has been training her on separating her feelings from controlling her energy. Still a very new beginner, Mai tried to concentrate on her training "Weren't you the one who started all this-" she threw her hands up "flirting!"
"It won't happen again. I was out of line"
"Bullshit Oliver" his eyes flashed when she spoke his name. Whenever it slipped her lips it did something to him. How he wanted to hear her moan his name during the night "Just admit it, please. You like me!" she stepped closer to him "Because I love you. I always had" tears finally escaped their prison
"A part of me strongly doesn't believe that confession" Mai sneered at him and stormed out, slamming the door behind her
"Mai?" a woman said, startling Mai. She turned around to see Ayako and Madoka standing there. Madoka wore her white bridal silk robe. With Ayako in her matching baby blue one.
"Good morning," Mai said cheerfully quickly wiped the angry tears and smiled
"We've been trying to get touch with you. I sent you like a million texts" Madoka said
"Sorry, I had just woken up" both older women looked at her and the door she just came from
"Did you just come from Naru's room?" Madoka looked at the girl with a twinkle in her eyes
"You spent the night with him!" Ayako bounced on her toes. Clearly routing for the young couple
"N-no!" Mai trying to figure out how to get out of this situation as quickly as possible "I just had to – um- borrow some shaving cream" her mouth just blurted out. If she had a gun, she'd shot herself now.
"Shaving cream?" Madoka was unconvinced "I thought you wax?"
"Uh – I do. But - um with the case and me being in Cinder-Valor I didn't have to time to make an appointment." God, she was a terrible lair
"Well, why didn't you just ask me?" Ayako questioned "I actually have a box of wax strips. I'll do your legs" she motioned for the girl to follow her to her and Monks room.
"We have to start getting ready, so we'll do it downstairs in the makeshift bridal suit," she added on
"We have lots of food!" Madoka said all giggly "Which you know me, I eat when I'm nervous"
"Nothing to be nervous of Madoka. This wedding is going to be beautiful and Lin is the luckiest guy in the entire world" Mai said as they walked
"You're right. Nothing to worry about" she blushed just thinking about being officially married in the next few hours

The time has come that Lin and Madoka will be forever married. Madoka has been anticipating this moment months. I still can't believe that it's here. We all stood in the tent on the beach, amazed by how beautiful she looked. Dressed in an ivory sweetheart ball gown. A thin crystal belt sat snug on her waist. Her pink hair was pulled up in a high bun, with a few pieces loosely curled framing her blushing face. Along vial pined with a blue and diamond hair clip underneath the updo. She held a bouquet of white daisy's and lilies nervously close to her.
"You'll be fine." Mai spoke to her. Madoka gave her a small smile
"I know. Its just...I'm afraid of the future I think" she laughed
"That's nothing to be afraid of. You are starting a new chapter in your life. But you're not starting it alone, the man who is waiting for you at the end of that aisle. Who I know loves you more than anything in the entire world will be standing next to you through it all. Thick and thin. You will always have a shoulder to cry on and a person to laugh with."
"You're right. I don't know why I was so scared." she dried a few tears with a beauty blender she grabbed behind her. "You're gonna ruin my makeup!" she laughed
"I'll leave that to Lin" Mai placed a hand on the bride's arm.
"You look very beautiful," Madoka said to the teen. All the bridesmaids wore baby blue sweetheart A-lined floor length chiffon dresses. Their hair was all loosely curled and down with a few loose braids pinned back. Each had a small white daisy bouquet wrapped in white silk. "Wait till Naru sees you" she giggled as Mai jabbed her in her side
"I don't want to even talk to him" she huffed. To only remember they are partners in the wedding party. Cursing Madoka under her breath. A strawberry blonde with light blue eye approached the pair. Naru's younger cousin; Poppy
"Aunty Madoka!" Not really her aunt, but the Mori's and Davis are longtime family friends. Since my mom actually. It was very awkward meeting Madoka's parents last night. They all knew who I was but I had no clue who they were. "Mommy said that it's time!" the flower girl jumped, excited for the wedding to start. Mai could see the nerves in her eyes, reaching over she squeezed the brides hand in comfort. Flashing a smile Mai joined the other bridesmaids and exited the tent.
Meeting up with the groomsmen, the wedding planner lined us up in order. Nate who was another cousin of Naru's, older brother to Poppy. Was the ring bearer, after him was Ayako paired with Monk who was surprisingly a good friend to Lin. Then it was Yue, Lin's younger sister paired with Craig Tomlinson, Madoka's sister Nami's husband. Then Lexi, Luella's sister and her husband Logan Duncan. Parents of Naru's younger cousins Nate and Poppy. After them was Mai and Naru, and finally, the maid of honor Madoka's sister Nami paired with the best man Lin's older brother Dishi. And standing before the bride was sweet Poppy with her basket of flower petals.
"Mai" Naru said in a hushed tone
"Don't talk to me" Mai linked her arm through Naru's as instructed by the wedding planner. The music came on to single the party to start the walk. Each pair passing Madoka's father Daniel who was already crying at his daughter. We made our walk down the golden beach, thankful that Madoka didn't force us to wear heels on the sand. Rows of white chairs lined the aisle, draped in light blue cloth, with daisies. Candles lit at the start of each row. A flower arch stood before the blue ocean, the sun setting perfectly behind. At the end of the walk, Mai broke apart from her partner and smiled at John who was ordaining the wedding. She stood in front of Lexi, watching as Nami and Dishi made their final steps. Poppy right behind tossing petals down, the crowd smiled and awed at the eight-year-old.
The music shifted tune. Family and friends stood as the bride and her father descended the sandy aisle. I glanced at Lin, dressed in a tan tux, matching the groomsmen. Dried a few tears as he smiled at his bride. Daniel shook Lin's hand and kissed his daughter on the cheek as he cried giving her away. The bride and groom smiled at each other. Lin whispered something to Madoka that we couldn't hear but she blushed. They turned to John as he motioned for the crowd to take their seats.
John began to speak. But Mai couldn't help but think how utterly perfect they are for each other. Madoka and her hyper-ness and Lin who is always quite and a computer junky. You wouldn't know it at first glance but you could really tell that they are in love. The way that they both look at each other. The way that Lin is always worried for her and puts her first before anyone. You may think that Lin gets annoyed by Madoka but that's just not true, you could tell that he doesn't mind. I asked him a couple months ago after Madoka left the office, he just smiled and said he likes listening to her. Her voice is soothing for him. I didn't realize I zoned out till Madoka turned around to hand Nami her flowers. Mai just happened to look at the groomsmen, feeling a stare. Blue eyes met hers, she looked away and listened to the vows.
John handed Lin Madoka's ring. "Please repeat after me" Lin nodded and took her hands

Lin smiled and slipped her ring on her ring finger next to her engagement ring. Madoka smiled and started to cry. John turned to her and handed her Lin's ring. "Please repeat after me"
"I don't know with all this crying, but I'll try" Everyone in the beach began to laugh. Even Lin. Mai looked back at her boss, he still looking at her. Not fazed by the event happening around him. John spoke...

Clearing the tears from her face she smiled "looks like I did it" they laughed again as they watched her slip his wedding ring on his ring finger.
"With the power invested in me. I declare you Mr. and Mrs. Lin Royko Koujo." John paused and look at the both of them "You may kiss the bride"
Lin leaned in and kissed Madoka, quickly dipping her during the kiss. Aside from Lin that I haven't seen. Everyone clapped and cheered for the new married couple.
"YES!" Madoka cheered. Taking his hand they walked down the sandy path. Poppy and Nate following, then the wedding parting interlaced their arms with their partners and made the way back up to the tent. About an hour and a half past. The cocktail hour was held at the beach while the wedding party, family and the Davis took photos. The guest was then picked up and transported to the Davis's Manor for the reception in the gardens. Which was turned into an outdoor high-class club? The DJ was on top of the stone stairs. The patio was cleared and turned into a dance floor. Tables lined it in the grass. The party was called pair by pair, then
"Now please everyone stands for the Bride and Groom. Mr. and Mrs. Lin Koujo!" Everyone stood cheering and clapping for the new happy couple
The bride and groom walked to the dance floor. "Now as request let's welcome Lin and Madoka's friend and co-worker Houshou Takigawa to sing their song for their first dance. The crowd clapped as Bou-san made his way to the stage. The music started. Lin bowed and asked Madoka to have this dance; she laughed and took his hand.

The song was beautiful and sang perfectly by Bou-san. When the couple was done, the garden erupted in claps. Lin pulled her closer and kissed her. Looking at them so happy I wish that one day I'll meet someone perfect, and loving. And not a cold hardhearted jerk face like her boss.
The night went one with cheers and tones of dancing. The cake was beautiful and the look on Lin's face when Madoka shoved it in his face was priceless. Good thing I'm getting a copy of all the wedding pictures.
"Ladies and Gentleman, that time has come. The last dance of the evening. The bride and groom request at all couples join them on the dance floor in a celebration of love." Mai sighed and stayed seated in her chair, watching all the couples come together on the dance floor. The DJ began to play Bound to You. One of Madoka's favorite songs

"Mai" She looked to who called her name. Naru. Looking dashing in a tan suit. Glad she's getting pictures to cause this is a once in a lifetime.
"Go away" Still so angry and heartbroken by what he had said earlier this morning. She wanted nothing to do with him.
"Dance with me" he held out his hand for her to take. She rolled her eyes. Catching a glimpse at the dance floor she saw Madoka sneaking a peek at the teens. Not wanting to cause a scene on her day, she grabbed his hand. "Don't talk to me. Just dance"

They danced in silence. Naru held her close as they did on their previous case. Spun her gracefully across the patio. Making a full circle. Naru stopped the dance

"Walk with me" he slid his hand into hers and walked off the floor. His parents, Madoka, Lin, Ayako and Monk all looked their way. Masako saw as they walked past her. Yasu pointed for John to see when they caught sight of the teens leaving into the gardens

"Naru, where are you taking me?" Naru said nothing, leading her down the stone path. They came to the marble fountain of Venus. The goddess of Love.

"My necklace!" she touched it with her fingers "How? I thought I had lost it" Naru motioned for her to turn around. He reached over and placed it around her neck. Light fingers tracing her neck and shoulders

Mai turned slowly in his touch. Placing her hand on her now found the necklace she held so dear. Looking up into his eyes, they were the softest blue she has seen. Warm in the glow of the candles around the fountain.

"I held this necklace every moment you were missing" he confessed. Mai's heart accelerated. "I've been waiting for the perfect moment to give it back." She pulled him into an embrace
"Thank you" In front of the fountain the began to dance together alone to the remainder of the song

"Mai," he said at the same time. Mai giving him the OK to speak first. Taking her hands into his "I need to say this." a few moments of silence passed before he spoke again "I care for you. But I can't bring myself to open my heart up" Shocked at the confession Mai looked at him, getting closer

Placing a hand on his cheek Mai spoke softly "I love you Oliver James Davis" He pulled her close. A strong hand around her waist, another sliding behind her left ear "I don't care if you can't love me right now." bringing her lips closer "I'll give you time. But I refuse to lose to your heart"

Naru smiled against her lips for the second time that day "Good" he whispered. Fireworks shot up in the air. Neither one breaking away. Finally, Naru pressed ever so softly to her nude lips.

They stayed that way. Disappearing to the world as they took each other in for the first time. Unaware of the bride and groom who came to look for them. Madoka, happy as a clam that she brought her phone. Took a picture of the couple enjoying their first kiss in front of the fountain of love with a firework show in the background
