A/N: Oops, let me start by apologizing for half ass disappearing. I'm not sure people even read FF anymore or even if they read LG since it's been off the air for a bit now. I do have to say being a HUGE DOCCUBUS fan I feel that we don't have much representation on TV today and that always brings me back to writing. Since I did start these stories I want to finish them. With that being said, I want to re-warn any readers, new and old, that these stories take place after the season 3 finale. I am also Team Lauren, and I personally saw Bo as an immature ass who got away with everything and anything those first three seasons. Therefore, I make it hard on her with consequences for those actions, you do not have to like it but you also don't have to read it. For those you stayed with me, thank you! You're the reason I didn't leave the story. Apologies in advance that the first returning chapter is mainly a flashback, it is relevant overall. Special thanks to those you follow this story and add it to their favorites. Please leave reviews, I love hearing everyone's thoughts. A very special thanks to somewhataddicted (S.W. Andersen) for her input and editing skills.
Bo was standing in the Dal watching the black smoke swirl encompass her. Squeezing her eyelids tightly shut as she gripped her abdomen. Trying desperately to stop the sudden nausea from the rapid spinning, feeling like she was on the Himalaya, going in circles, faster and faster. Her cheeks blowing out as she sucked in air, exhaling so slow trying to keep the bile down. Against her will she collapsed to her knees. It seemed like forever before she felt cool air gusting past her, the succubus gently let her eyes flutter open. Everything around her was slowly coming into focus. Her brows fused together as her face scrunched up with confusion. Bo scanned the perimeter looking for a threat that didn't come. It was like she was in a Town Market. Vendors all around screaming out what they were selling. People, or fae, she wasn't entirely sure who they were, or where she was. No one seemed to notice that she just appeared.
Till he caught her attention, the only person who was focused solely on her. Bo saw him leaning against a wall no more than 10 feet away. Her eyes narrowed as she looked the stranger up and down. The anger replaced the nausea with lightning speed. The succubus was not in the mood for this. She started to storm towards him. He was about Dyson's height, average build, jet black hair that was slicked back flawlessly. The new stranger was wearing a perfectly pressed suit, black pin striped pants, white dress shirt, shiny black dress shoes and the jacket to match the pants. It wasn't till she got closer that the brunette stopped dead in her tracks. Those eyes! Those warm chocolate eyes, like looking in a mirror. Bo lifted her hand to her head as her eyes started to lose focus, stumbling backwards feeling like the ground beneath her shifted.
She felt his hand wrap around her arm. It was oddly gentle, nothing that she was expecting. He softly placed his hand on her cheek, "Isabeau?" His voice was smooth and low, barely above a whisper, she practically had to strain to hear him.
"Who are you," the brunette knew the answer. The minute their eyes locked she knew. She felt it. Her inner succubus sensed him.
Waiting till the brunette regained her footing, he stepped back grinning, "I think you know the answer to that."
Bo dreamt of this moment for so long. Before she knew she was fae she pictured her parents and what they were like. When she met Trick and Aife, she no longer had the desire to know the man in front of her. There was a part of her that was intrigued. A small tinge wanting to get to know him, to be able to fire off a round of questions. "You're my father," Bo boldly stated. For so long she feared this man, but not anymore. Not standing here toe-to-toe with him. He didn't look threatening or menacing, or anything Bo was anticipating from former descriptions.
The man in front of her suddenly beamed with pride. "I knew my daughter would match my intelligence." He put his hand on the small of her back as he started to guide her through the Town Square. "I am so happy you finally decided to meet me after making so many small connections these past three years."
Those words stopped Bo abruptly in her tracks. "Um, I think that was the other way around. You connected to me and brought me here." Scratching the top of her head as if she was trying to recall the memory that was fresh on her mind. "I remember some black smoke, then I apparently went through the wardrobe to Narnia."
Her father stepped in front of her, slightly amused. Raising one eyebrow he questioned, "Allow me to remind you. You first reached out to me to save your human lover, to give you the strength you knew you had but didn't know how to control. I believe we saved her. For her, you reached out to me a second time. Not knowing what human to save. There was the time to save your grandfather after you faced the Garuda. Our last connection we had was for Trick's noble guard, to return the life he gave for you." There wasn't a drip of anger to his voice. It was simple recollection. He turned slightly so he could continue to walk down the road.
The succubus stood slacked jaw remembering each moment and the power she felt during each of those times. Thinking back, she remembered feeling helpless each time, wishing there was a way to stop it and then blacking out. Realizing he was no longer next to her, practically jogging to catch up, placing a hand on his shoulder, stopping him, "That was you?"
"Of course, who else would it be." His eyes slightly narrowed, "You do not understand the power that is coursing through you?" The shock was evident on his face while he continued, "How did you learn to control it?"
Suddenly her mind was swirling with so many things faster than she could say them. Flashes of the Lich trying to kill Lauren in front of her, knowing she couldn't get out of her restraints keeping Bo at bay. It was like something took over her body. Giving her the ability to suck multiple chi at once, except Lauren's. Bo opened her eyes wide, without realizing it her hand was on her father's shoulder, forcing him to face her. "How?"
He tilted his head slightly to the side, his brows lowering debating if it was a real question. "Because you are my daughter." He continued to study the brunette's face before continuing, "Isabeau, I am one of the most powerful fae, and your mother comes from the Blood King." He placed his hand delicately under her chin, like she was fine china. His piercing stare at the fae in front of him. "You have just scratched the surface of your abilities. I can understand why Trick wouldn't have told you. However, this is a mistake, you need a teacher, a mentor. Not a prison guard." This man had no love for the Blood King, making no attempts to hide it. It stopped him from pursuing the answer to the question he just asked. He knew it wasn't Bo who learned to control her powers but her grandfather who kept the succubus in check instead.
This had Bo's attention, for some time she wanted to understand why she had the abilities she did. To suck multiple chi at once and even bring Dyson back from the dead. To an extent she could even understand Trick's side of not wanting her to tap further into these powers. Look what happened to her mother. The brunette found it hard to believe that Aife was always the sadistic nut that tried to kill her. All this information brought to light a new question, "Who are you?" There was a new alertness to the tone of her voice.
Her father let his hand gently glide off Bo's face. With a simple smile he continued to walk, "All your questions will be answered, for now let's enjoy each other's company. I never thought I would get to meet you Isabeau."
She wasn't at all prepared for this. The succubus wasn't planning to meet her father ever, fearing if she did who he would be, and if she would be forced to fight him like she did with her mother. This felt comfortable. There was a calmness to this man that Bo wished she possessed, being near him, gave her that serenity. The blissful moment was short lived as Bo stopped dead in her tracks, "my friends," escaped from her lips. Suddenly she remembered why she went to the Dal in the first place. Kenzi was gone, Tamsin sort of fought her, Dyson was a prisoner, and Lauren. The succubus could feel her heart drop. Just the thought of the blonde's name.
Her father was observing his daughter's facial expression betraying her thoughts as they read out like a book. "What's a matter Isabeau? Perhaps I can be of help?"
"Before this, before meeting you, I was trying to save my friends." She started glancing around looking for a way to leave. It just seemed like miles and miles of country side was around her. "Where are we?"
There was not even a slight chance her father was going to lose Bo this quickly. After all he had plans for the two of them. Perception was everything, they started out on the right foot, and he would keep that image up. "As I said Isabeau, all will be explained, including where we are. As for your friends, the Shifter and Valkyrie are here." His tone was so relaxed it reflected off him in waves calming the anxiousness in the succubus.
Bo looked back and forth as if she would see them, "Dyson and Tamsin are here?"
"I will take you to them." He softly smiled.
The brunette didn't budge. "Kenzi and Lauren." She felt relief knowing her other friends were with her but that didn't stop the fear of where the two humans could be.
Turning to the succubus his soft lips stretched into a smile but didn't quite reach his dark eyes. They were lit with sadness, and the forced expression of the contrary on his mouth would have looked comical to Bo if it didn't make her heart feel heavy. "There is a war on humans Isabeau. Your human friends are well hidden. If you go there you will find them, and it will cause their death. For once you cannot be the hero. This time you need to be patient."
It was a mixture of his words and the meaningful eye contact between the two that made her understand the seriousness. Without further questioning him she nodded in agreement. "Can I see Dyson and Tamsin?" If staying behind would save her friends, she didn't need to be told twice. She would use the time to learn things from her father. Maybe have the relationship that was impossible with her mother.
Her father flashed a smile, his lips lifting upward, showing the way, his teeth are perfectly aligned. "It would be my pleasure."
10 MONTHS AGO (SAME TIME BO ARRIVED AT HER FATHER'S)
Tamsin floored it after the wanderer. The truck went to flip over as the black smoke swirled around the two fae. Both matching their screams as they gripped their heads. Tumbling over each other as they bounced off the rough pavement. Dust flying around them as the dirt kicked up from their body weight. Tamsin was flat on her stomach, her head tilted slightly to left. "I hate you," she mumbled to the shifter.
Dyson was on his ass, to Tamsin's right, his one left leg sprawled out, the right bent by the knee with his foot firmly on the ground. Once he was positive nothing was broken he looked down at the dark fae. "Me, it was you that decided to run over, smoke?" He had no idea what was going on. His thoughts were with Lauren. She saved him and he possibly saved her. She was alone turning fae. He clenched his eyes shut trying not to think of it.
The Valkyrie pushed herself up from the ground dusting off. Pulling Dyson to his feet. "Yes you, before the Scooby Gang, I didn't give a shit." Mumbling under her breath silently cursing for allowing herself to get attached.
The light fae put his hand over his heart, "Aww Tamsin, you are so touching, will you get a part time job with Hallmark?"
She was about to respond when she saw Bo. The succubus seemed to appear out of thin air and was currently on her knees. Tamsin hit the shifter nodding over to the brunette marching towards Bo. Flying backwards as she slammed into an invisible barrier. She bent down rubbing her forehead, "Shit that hurt. Today is going so well for me, I feel like Hermoine Granger."
Dyson was feeling the invisible wall that was surrounding them. Arching his eyebrow at her reference, "You've seen Harry Potter?" From what he could tell it was like they were trapped in a giant box. He went from one cage to another.
Tamsin was hunched over with her hands on her knees. "I've heard Kenzi use the reference." Before she could make any other snarky remarks, she shot up and went to the wall she originally banged into. The dark fae arched her neck to talk to the shifter with an alertness to her eyes that instantly concerned Dyson. "That asshat by Bo, he is the one who sent me for her. We are in his realm."
The shifter didn't have a chance to respond. Bo's father was suddenly in the box with them. Dyson could still see him next to Bo. The man was literally in two places at once and the succubus didn't even notice them. He followed the light fae's stare. "Isabeau cannot see or hear you dog." His attention went over to Tamsin who was already backed into the corner. He moved right in front of her. The shifter went to protect his partner but a wave of her father's hand sent Dyson ramming backwards into the opposite side of their cell. Bo's father stretched his hands out to either side of the Valkyrie's face as he dipped down dangerously close to hers. His eyes became pure black. "Tamsin, Tamsin, Tamsin, what have you done." HIs voice was low and dangerous. "I should kill you." He had his nose practically touching hers. "You are very lucky that I am willing to give you a second chance. My daughter needs you." His lips peeled back in a cruel smile at his startling revelation to the two fae.
He stepped back facing the two of them, as the shifter continued to watch the other version of this man walking with Bo. "You both will do everything I say and ask; or I will kill the three of you." With that he vanished and was only next to the succubus. He did face in their direction with a smile as he talked to Bo, but the two fae knew he was looking that them.
"Tamsin, who is Bo's father and where are we?" He was trying to think of how he would get them home. How he would get to Lauren.
The dark fae zoned out as she stared helplessly at the succubus. "We are in the Underworld and that is Osiris, God of the Dead and Resurrection." She placed her hands on the invisible wall peering hopelessly at the brunette. "I had no idea he's Bo's father." It was the first time in a longtime that she had no sarcastic remark. Before she had time to debate anything else black smoke surrounded them once again. The Valkyrie braced herself before they were yanked to another spot. Both thrown, onto their feet this time, by a Vendor with food and ale already in their hands.
Both partners started to investigate the area around them. It was Dyson who sensed them first, nudging Tamsin as he saw the new duo coming around the corner. "I guess we are visible now." He huffed to the dark fae beside him. He barely had time to process the news on who's Bo father was.
Bo saw Dyson and Tamsin and took off from her father. She pulled the shifter into the tightest hug before putting her attention on the Valkyrie. The brunette smirked, "I'm glad we didn't go all Hunger Games on each other." It was no secret when Bo first met the dark fae she didn't think highly of her. Somehow along the way the dark fae started to win her over. When she started to fight Bo at Taft Industries it was slightly shocking that the Valkyrie still tried. The succubus was willing to put it all under the bridge as her father approached. Realization hit her that her father was the creator of Valkyrie's. She stepped to the side, "Dad, this is Tamsin, as I am sure you know, and the scruffy looking guy next to her is Dyson. These are my friends." It was an odd feeling introducing this stranger as her father. Something Bo was accustomed to never happening, as the words were pouring from her lips, it felt right.
Dyson made direct eye contact, not flinching, or blinking as he extended his hand to the man who just moments ago threatened them all. When Osiris's hand slipped into the shifter's, Dyson squeezed as tight as his fae strength would allow, "Pleased to meet you." He wanted to yelp as the Underworld God returned the pressure showing the light fae who was the stronger of the two. He could feel the bones buckling under the pressure just shy of being crushed.
Suddenly the brunette's smile died faster than wisps of smoke after a candle flame has been snuffed out. Her hands on her hip as she addressed her father, "You sent Tamsin to kill me."
Osiris's eyes fluttered from his daughters to the dark fae next to her. He stepped closer, "Don't be silly Isabeau, I sent Tamsin to get you." The deadness behind his eyes when they landed on the blonde's went right past Bo. "Valkyrie's tend to think everything means death." His voice daring the dark fae to challenge him. She kept her lips firmly shut.
The rest of that day wasn't to productive. Osiris brought Bo to a guest house he had. It was simple, bigger than the Crack Shack, and it had walls. The entrance led right into the living room, there was a black sofa and a glass coffee table in front of it. To the left was stairs leading up to the tiny hallway with two bedrooms right across from each other, both had a full-sized bed with a dresser. The downstairs had the living room, a large sized kitchen with a black circle table to the far corner with four black chairs. There was a full-size bathroom and an office area containing a black desk and a mahogany leather chair.
Tamsin and Dyson had a similar house that they would be sharing. It wasn't till the Valkryie was showering, from their tumble earlier, that Bo's father appeared again. He watched the shifter pacing around the living room. Osiris didn't need to read thoughts to be able to know what the light fae was thinking. He observed trying to understand his behavior. It was foreign to him to care so deeply. "She's alive," the Underworld God stated as he approached the shifter.
Dyson spun around so deep in concentration even his wolf didn't sense the intruder. It was useless to try and shift. In the Underworld Osiris had all the power. "What do you know," the light fae questioned.
Osiris's eyes held Dyson's with a dangerous glimmer to them. His lips twitched as he fought the smirk from forming. In the blink of an eye he was nose-to-nose with the shifter. "You realize what you've done? You made a human, fae. A human, that perfected fae genetics, she's more powerful than you." He started to circle around the light fae. Like a predator toying with its prey. He was standing directly behind him, leaning in, "Fae are born, flaws and all, Dr. Lewis found a way to get rid of imperfections, powering strengths, and you handed her that weapon. She's as strong as my daughter thanks to you." Osiris sneered into his ear. He knew the hearing abilities of a shifter, he wanted it to echo throughout Dyson's brain. He stopped in front of the light fae. The God of the Underworld wrapped his hands tight around the shifter's shirt pulling him close while lifting him off the ground like he was paper. "Don't give me a reason to kill Lauren Lewis."
Dyson slammed to the ground, crouching down. He jumped to his feet looking around but Osiris was gone. It was the first time in a long time that he knew he was defeated. There was no way out. All he could do was watch over Bo and Tamsin.
10 MONTHS AGO – 2 DAYS LATER – UNDERWORLD
When Bo first arrived two days ago she quickly met up with Tamsin and Dyson. After they went to their temporary houses they stayed in the rest of the night. Each one lost in their own thoughts. Yesterday the trio spent time walking their residence seeing very little of Osiris. The succubus still didn't even know his true title. She was expecting today to be like yesterday. As much as they walked around it seemed like they barely scratched the surface of their new surroundings. She opened the door and stumbled backwards as she slammed into her father.
He was standing at the front door, arm up ready to knock, when Bo barreled into him. He caught her before she fell on her ass. "Going somewhere Isabeau?" He half smiled, half laughed at her expression.
"I was going to see if Dyson and Tamsin wanted to walk around."
Osiris stepped into the hallway. "I was thinking you might want to get some of those answers to the questions you asked me the other day." He quickly turned back towards the door calling over his shoulder, "But if that no longer interests you I can point out some nice areas to walk around." He had a knack for manipulation.
It wasn't even a second thought as Bo fell into step besides her father. "Where are we going?" She couldn't explain it but when she was near him she felt different. Like she needed to be by his side. Like she was a Padawan and he was her Jedi Master.
They walked in silence for a while, small conversations of when Bo first met Trick and Dyson. Bo slowed down as she glanced at the stone wall that they were walking besides. The brunette half noticed it before, what caught her attention now was the opening. Two gray pillars with torches on the side, a black metal gate that rose at least 12 feet high, and a stone path beyond the entrance. There was a thick fog past the pavement. Her fingers wrapped around the cool steel pulling herself closer. "Good, that's not at all creepy." She glanced at her father.
"Why would it be creepy?" He struggled with the last word as if he didn't know it. He pushed the gate open, leaning forward he exhaled deeply, the fog dissipated as he did. "Is it still creepy?" Using the word with amusement.
It brought back all the questions Bo had. "Seriously, who are you, I am starting to feel like the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland." She tilted her head, "A little like Alice too." Referring to the feeling that she was in Wonderland.
Osiris ignored the references. "Why did you keep your powers contained Isabeau?" He was headed down the poorly lit pathway, walking to his home. He didn't need the gates, no one would dare enter the God of the Underworld's palace, he just liked them.
"There is a monster inside me, I can feel it."
He raised an eyebrow, "A monster?"
"When we've connected I have been in situations where something was happening that I couldn't fix. Things that I would rather die than have happen." It was hard for Bo to put into words those feelings when she felt so disconnected from herself. "The Lich about to kill Lauren, Lauren and Kenzi being threatened, Trick almost dying, while Dyson did die for me. Things I couldn't let happen." For some reason she was internally struggling trying to find the wording.
Her father sensed it, "Which made you tap into the powers I have passed on to you. Powers you cannot control which is why we connected." He turned her towards him, letting his thumb caress her cheek, proud of his daughter. "For this you feel like a monster?"
"Yes!" She started to pace in front of her father. "I can suck multiple chi at once. I brought Dyson back from the dead. I can do things no other succubi can do."
"Yes, yes you can, what alludes me is why does this make you a monster?" He kept his gaze fixated on the succubus till she stopped her rapid movements. "From what I can tell you killed a bunch of horrible fae while saving Lauren." He saw the contemplation in her eyes and didn't give her time to think deeper into it. "For wanting to save two people you cared about, from again, not such good fae. Saving Trick from the Garuda? Bringing the Shifter back to life? A monster?" He raised both his eyebrows questioning her theory. "I see a hero. Or do you just think you're a monster because no one told you who I am? Did you Grandfather and his noble guard have such little faith in you?" He got them moving as he spoke. He let his pace decelerate.
Bo ran her hand through her hair. Her brain started to feel like scrambled eggs. The emotions of being pissed at Dyson and Trick for knowing who she was, who her mother was, were now fresh in her mind. Why did she feel like a monster? She suddenly didn't remember why she thought it. Was it because of the power she possessed yet could control? Her father was right she only tapped into that greater strength to do heroic things. It was like the fog was lifted from her eyes. She realized they were no longer moving. She glanced up at the guy in front of them. This being wasn't human or fae. The body of a man, with a canine like face, whited out eyes and long pointed ears like a Doberman.
"Anubis my friend," her father purred out. The shock rippled throughout Bo as she realized who Anubis was the guard of, who her father is.
LAUREN'S PLACE – PRESENT DAY
Bo heard the door open, catching her breath in her throat watching the blonde shifter walk in. She didn't even know what to say after what happened yesterday morning. Twenty-four hours later and here they were. There was that part of Bo, that part she had since her father, that wanted to give into the darkness. That tiny part that knew the beautiful blonde must have been with Ava the whole night. Then there was the other side to the succubus, the side of who she truly is. Which allowed her to finally talk to her petite human BFF last night. She closed her eyes, peeling the image of the hot doctor with the sexy Ash from her mind. Reminding herself she wasn't exactly innocent either. Not wanting to admit to having a role in pushing Lauren to Ava yesterday. With pain filled eyes Bo approached the new fae. "Lauren, I am so sorry." Sadness flowed through her veins, a poison to her veins, killing off her other emotions till it was the only one that remained.
The doctor glanced over towards the living room, seeing Kenzi and Bruce passed out. Looking around she noticed Bo was cleaning up. Only Bo could do this to her. Every time was like a new wound, a scar to add to the collection. She swallowed hard, meeting those tormented filled broken brown eyes. "That's the problem Bo, who has to apologize this much?" She ran her hands through her hair not sure how to continue. "Maybe, maybe we aren't supposed to be." It was something the blonde shifter started to consider. How can two people hurt each other this deeply? Yet, there was a part of her that couldn't picture a life without the succubus in it.
Bo shook her head closing the space between them. Her hands caressing the doctor's face. "No, no that's not it at all. Something always brings me back to you. Maybe that's what we need to look at." As much as the brunette wanted to kiss the new fae she wouldn't allow it. For once they were going to have that conversation. "I think we should have that talk." Her eyes locked onto Lauren's trying to read what the wolf was feeling. Bo glimpsed over her shoulder, "Is there somewhere we can go?" The succubus wanted this done right, no one to interrupt, no protective older brother, no Nikki and definitely no Ava. Before she had time to think further about it, she saw the blonde grabbing her car keys.
The new fae didn't have to think twice about it. Ever since she came back from hiding with Kenzi and Bruce all those months ago she wanted to speak with Bo. That came to a shattering halt when she found out the succubus was with Tamsin. From that point Lauren did all she could to avoid her. When it became too hard, too much, she moved. Feeling it was the best option for everyone involved. For four months the doctor would constantly think of the brunette, forcing thoughts of Bo out of her mind proved tough. She suspected that subconsciously she didn't truly want that. A few days ago, earning her freedom, and Bo showing up was the biggest surprise. It also brought to the surface buried down feelings. Which is why she tip toed around this woman. No one else could to do her what Bo did. She unlocked the door to Bo's car, slipping into the driver's seat revving the car to life. She knew the perfect place to go and have this one on one. She glanced over at the succubus standing by the passenger door. Leaning over the blonde shifter opened the door calling to Bo, "Are you coming or not?"
