Chapter 5
A/N: Sorry not sorry for crushing everyone's hopes and dreams for Kylux. JK I'll make it better don't worry. Also, I'm sorry if this whole fanfiction or some of the chapters are really bad. I'm still in the learning process of figuring out English even though I'll probably never master it. And I also have to balance school, tennis, and other extracurricular activities so please be patient with me. I hope you are having a great day! Enjoy!
Hux woke up a few hours later. He kept turning over on his bed trying to find the motivation to get up. He couldn't just leave without Kylo. After their heartbreaking conversation yesterday, he felt as if half of his heart disappeared. He sat up rubbing his eyes and began to get ready. While packing his backpack, an idea came to him. An idea of how he can take Kylo with him. His heart fluttered, and he speedily finished gathering his belongings.
Hux shuffled into the corridor. His plan would work. He would make it work for Kylo. No one was in sight which was perfect. Hux walked quickly toward his post on the bridge.
"For Kylo," he muttered to himself.
He decided to leave his backpack hidden behind some barrels in the main hangar, so no one would suspect that he would be leaving.
Hux arrived at the bridge earlier than usual and traveled to the data computer. He glanced to see if anyone was watching, but no one was. People were hurrying around because the next shift of workers were coming in and the others were leaving to catch up on sleep. Looking back at the computer, Hux located the program that stored all of the individual orders from the Supreme Leader. He hastily scrolled through the files until he found his and opened it. He changed his assignment for his shift so that it read: TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT: VISIT ILUM AND GATHER MORE INTELLIGENCE AND ESTABLISH CONNECTIONS. IT WOULD BE WISE TO BRING KYLO REN WITH YOU.
Hux entered his new assignment and walked away from the computer quite pleased with himself. His plan was going smoothly. Now came for the hard part, convincing Kylo to come with him.
He dashed to the third floor of the ship towards Kylo's room.
"Kylo!" he yelled while pounding on the door.
"It's me."
Kylo opened the door and looked down darkly at Hux. "I already told you Hux. I can't go with you."
"I know what you said, Ky but I realized that I can't take no for an answer."
He swallowed and took a deep breath. Anxiety began to creep through him while he spoke.
"I—I can't take no for an answer because I'm afraid that I'll lose you forever. I'm afraid that I'll never gaze into your mysterious eyes again, that I'll never hear your voice manufacture another witty retort, or that I'll never be able to hold your beautiful battle-worn hands again."
Tears rolled down Hux's face and he began to shake uncontrollably. He fell forward, but didn't hit the ground.
A pair of strong arms robed in black caught him and pulled him into an embrace.
Kylo's heartbeat kept him grounded and gave him the courage to say, "I can't take no for an answer because I love you. I would travel around the whole galaxy if it meant that I could be with you."
Kylo tilted Hux's chin up and brushed away his tears. Hux tried to read his expression, but he always disguised it. Suddenly, Kylo smiled. A soft, genuine smile of admiration.
"I love you too, Hux. I really do and I'm sorry about everything that happened earlier."
Kylo gave him a quick kiss on his forehead and continued, "You are so brave for deciding to leave the First Order and for not letting me go. Now that I thought it over, you are the person who I want to spend the rest of my life with and I'm not going to let anything get between us."
"Really?" Hux asked.
"Really." Kylo replied while wrapping his arms around Hux's waist.
"And besides, I need time to be with you so I can make sure you don't live down your line of "manufacture another witty retort."
Hux lightly slapped Kylo's chest, "I thought you'd like that phrase!"
Kylo chuckled, "I guess can give you some credit for trying. Then again, I'm looking forward to reading my birthday card from you to see if you are capable of coming up with other nerdy phrases like that."
Hux blushed and rolled his eyes, trying to contain his smile.
"Well, I guess I'll get my stuff together."
Hux nodded and Kylo returned five minutes later with a backpack. He clipped his lightsaber to his belt.
"Let's go." He whispered and clasped Hux's hand for a moment taking in a deep breath.
"It'll be okay, Ky. I've got this all planned out."
Kylo tensed a bit, "I know you do. It's just that it's so strange to be leaving. I've been here for a good majority of my life. The First Order shaped me into the person I am and it's just hard to be leaving the routine and the structure."
"It'll get better. Soon you'll realize that not having a structured life might be a good thing. You'll get to accomplish all the things that you've ever wanted to, but couldn't because of Snoke and your training."
"You're probably right. I'm sorry. It'll just take some time for me to process everything." Kylo admitted.
"Take all the time you need. I mean, we're going to be together for a long time if everything works out." Hux murmured.
"Okay." He sighed and he began to walk at his normal pace down the corridor with Hux trailing a little bit behind him.
"Remember to act normally," Kylo whispered.
A/N: Yay! Done with the next chapter! Hope you liked it and sorry for taking so long to update!
