Robin raced on his R-Cycle. He allowed a brief moment to think of Kori but now he was focused and in the zone. There was an explosion at a nuclear plant on the other side of town. Bruce was in the Bat-Mobile a few feet ahead.

"I am heading north on Main, you head south and we will see if we see any tracks. Meet at the plant." Bruce's semi-kind voice was gone and it transformed in Bat Man.

" Roger." Robin responded with the same gruffness. He turned south at the stoplight and kept his eye peeled for any suspicious activity. The plant experiencing an explosion unbelievable. That was the considered the safest place in the city excluding the Bat Cave, which now four people know about.

" No activity on North, rounding out to the plant."

" Following your lead." Robin raced his bike to the plant. He pulled up moments after his mentor. They viewed the towering flames and noted the group of workers looking distressed.

" Is every one out?" Bruce yelled.

" One woman stepped forward in hysterics, " Tom, he is still, he was in the- he is our-" Before she could finish her sentence Richard rushed through the chain link gates and straight toward the fiery dome.

" Now Miss Anders, this is a first for me, watching the news with a friend." Alfred said as changed the channel to 4- which was their news channel. Her heart warmed when he called her friend, but her attention was instantly captured by the sirens and the the reporter on the screen.

" It appears that Robin has already entered the scene while Bat Man is circling the premises."

Kori watched the flames burn and said a silent prayer that Richard was safe.

Robin let out a cough, and was grateful that Alfred found a way to make the mask safe to breathe in a fire, but this one was intense, and he saw the staircase leading upstairs begin to crumble under the force of the heat. He made a quick scan of the area and he didn't see anyone on the lobby, he squinted to see if someone was under the rubble. He heard a faint cry. He focused all of his attention on hearing and listened for another cry. He heard it again, a deep and weak voice coming from the room. He was glad because the roof looked like it was going to crash. He estimated that he had about 2 minutes before it would crumble. The cry came again, and it was weak. It sounded like it was from behind the welcome desk, which was barely noticeable because of all the ash and the smoke and flames surrounding. Robin sprinted towards it, avoiding flames, and he crouched down and saw a male's body pushed as far back as he could get, coughing. Robin took grabbed the man. He was slightly heavy, but Robin wasn't concerned. He picked him up and tried to run out. When he was feet away from the door he noticed a shadow looming but as soon as he gave it thought it crumbled down blocking the door. Robin swore under his breath as he looked for another way out. The fire seemed to be getting louder and he closed his eyes to concentrate. There was cement that had crumbled to his left, and if he ran fast enough he could make the leap outside the second story window. He heard a large thud behind him and knew that he needed to make a choice. He bolted to his left at full speed, clutching the body. Within a matter of seconds he had landed outside. He had practiced making jumps and landing softly from a much larger distance so he was grateful that it was an easy one and he could gently lay the man down. He took a few breaths as he was exposed to fresher air. The man next to him was still unconscious. While observing him Robin noticed that there was no identification on him and there was nothing to suggest that he worked there. Robin had a sharp and calculating mind.

" Bat Man, I think I found someone." He said in to his mouthpiece.

" I am on the other end, there were a few workers trapped. Sending them with medics, I'll be right over."

" Copy that." Robin checked the body and took a guess that the man would be unconscious for a while. He took the time to take a few deep breaths and try to recover. In moments he felt Bat Man approach. " No identification and he is not wearing a plant uniform."

" Good find. How are his oxygen levels?"

" He'll be fine. Only one I could find in there before I had to get out. The building is gone."

" Is this an accident or crime?"

" I think crime." Robin said and sighed.

" I agree. Let take him to the medics, we can keep an eye on him at the hospital." Robin agreed and Bat Man signaled the medical team to come and get this man. They gave that team instructions on how to handle this individual and headed home.

" Now, typically I meet them in the Bat Cave, they both prefer to chance get cleaned up before coming into the house." Alfred explained as he poured her another cup of tea. Kori was still all nerves. She has a smile on, but knowing the evil in this world she was still afraid. Alfred's watch made a quiet beep and he set down the tea pot abruptly. " Ah, that sound means that the boys are almost in the premise, perhaps we should meet them." He smile reassured her. She stood up and followed him as he walked out of the room and down one of the hallways. Kori marveled at the size of this house for what seemed the millionth time. There was a door on the right that blended right in with the wall. She wouldn't have noticed it but Alfred gave a slight push and a keypad appeared, he typed in a code and it opened all the way. She followed him down a dimly lit pathway that seemed to be going down. " There are entrances to this place all over the house, but I prefer this way, it is the safest if you ask me." He gave a slight chuckle like his was acknowledging an inside joke, but Kori was too busy to notice because right up ahead was a giant screen attached to a large control panel. There seemed to be many pathways leading in different directions from that place. She heard the sound of an engine running and when she looked to her right she was the Bat Mobile pull up. It was on a brightly lit circle that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Shortly after Robin pulled up on his motorcycle. Bat Man stepped out of his car and took off the mask, allowing Bruce's face to appear. Richard followed suit. He gave Kori a big grin when he saw her. Bruce nodded his head towards Kori and Alfred while he walked to the control panel. Kori watched in amazement as the car and motorcycle slowly fell into the ground and in seconds it was like they were never there.

Richard gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and followed Bruce. They both stared at a screen as it changed from black to the inside of the hospital. While Richard's hands maneuvered around the board Bruce stepped back and observed the changing screens.

" Got him." Richard said with a big grin. The screen was a hospital room and it appeared to be live. There was a man lying in a bed. Nurses were moving around the room but were not too concerned with the patient.

" Any identification?" Bruce asked. Richard clicked few buttons.

" Steve Kramer. Running records now." On the left of the screen a picture of this man appeared along with a list of criminal offenses that he has committed.

" There are all minor charges." Bruce said, his eyes skimming the screen.

" I'll keep watch, and find a connection." Richard sat down looking intently.

" I'll clean up, after that I'll keep watch while you take Kori home, when you get back you can take over." Bruce said sternly. He walked down one of the pathways that Kori noted just a few minutes prior. Richard backed away from the control panel and meet her eyes.

" How are you doing?" He asked, reaching and slipping his fingers through hers.

" How are you?!" She asked. He laughed and with his free hand ran his fingers through his messy hair.

" I'm fine, this isn't the first fire that I have had to face."

" So who started it?'" She questioned.

" We aren't sure, Bruce did a tour of the place and there were not gas leaks, it was definitely intentional. Almost everyone was evacuated by the time we got there, Bruce found a few of the factory workers and I found him near the front. Bruce and I have toured this plant before, we gave a charity check last year and what we observed was how adamant they are about people wearing identifications. This guy had none, which makes him a possible target. We will monitor the situation to see who he is and question him when he is more coherent." Kori went to kiss his cheek. Bruce appeared with his hair still well but dressed in slacks and a white button up.

" I'll keep her company, go clean up." Bruce said as he approached them. Richard winked at her and headed off.

" So, was that stressful for you." Bruce asked bluntly adjusting his collar.

" Honestly, " she hesitated," it was. " I trust, him, but."

" He is too impulsive, he acts and then thinks. He demands justice and much too firmly, which means something if it is coming from me." Bruce said with a slight smile, " but he has been more careful since he met you. I understand you worry, but please know that Alfred and I worry less since he met you," Kori went to respond but Bruce spoke again, " That was fast, you should be that quick more often," He said looking at Richard, and then he left, heading up the ramp that Kori has walked down moments previously.

" You ready to go home?" Richard asked, while shaking his head, as water flew off.
