Power Rangers in Space 2.0
Chapter 11
On the Delta Megaship an alarm was sounding as Andros and Zhane ran into the control room of the ship.
"Karone what is going on?" asked Andros.
"The ships sensors have picked up a faint trace of Eltarian Energy and also what appears to be a U.A.E base on a nearby planet" said Karone.
"Which Planet is it?" asked Andros.
"Gratha" replied Karone.
"Oh no we must get down there as quick as we can" said Andros.
"Andros what is so important about Gratha?" asked Zhane.
"According to legend Gratha was once the home of a team of Rangers, their Morphers and the Power Source that activates them are hidden on that Planet. We can't let the U.A.E get their hands on that amount of power or the universe could be destroyed" said Andros.
"What sort of team were they?" asked Karone.
"The legend says they were referred to as the Jungle Hero Power Rangers but little evidence supports they existed, even so we cannot allow the U.A.E to potentially find the powers if they exist" said Andros.
"Let's not forget about the Eltarian energy trace as well it may be Zordon" said Zhane.
"Right, Karone put is orbit of Gratha and we will take the Galaxy Gliders down to the surface and explore" said Andros.

Half an hour later the Delta Megaship was in Orbit of Gratha and the three Rangers were on their way to the planet on their Galaxy Gliders.
"Andros sensors are detecting the presence of Quantrons and Ecliptor" said Karone.
"Let's be careful and make sure we don't trip any booby-traps" said Andros.
The three Rangers didn't notice that somebody was watching them from behind some trees up a head, and that somebody was Ecliptor.
"Get ready the minute we can surround them we attack" said Ecliptor.
The Quantrons signaled they were ready for the attack and once the three Rangers had walked into position they surrounded them.
"It's a Trap" called Zhane.
"LET'S ROCK IT" called Andros, as the three Rangers pressed 2580 on their Morphers.
The three Rangers morphed into their suit's and began fighting the Quantrons until Ecliptor appeared and dragged Andros away from Zhane and Karone leaving them fighting back to back to try and hold off the Quantrons.
As Ecliptor and Andros locked Saber and Sword together both of their attention was distracted as an orange flash appeared in the clearing in front of them. The flash vanished to reveal a strange looking creature standing their looking at the both of them.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" asked Andros.
"Darkonda" growled Ecliptor before adding "I thought Dark Spector sent you to lead the attack on Sentai Six"
"He did but then he recalled me told me to give you a hand" said Darkonda.
"Pah I don't need your help I am quite capable of defeating some idiots who insist on wearing coloured uniforms, I more or less destroyed KO-35 and only a handful of them now remain these 3 will fall to my sword this time and then I shall wipe out any other surviving Kerovians" said Ecliptor.
"Are you sure you don't want this to help?" asked Darkonda showing Ecliptor a bag that a faint buzzing sound could be heard from.
"If that is what I think it is then release it to attack the Rangers it should provide some entertainment watching how they deal with it" said Ecliptor.
"As you wish Ecliptor" said Darkonda as he reached into the bag and pulled out a giant spiraled silver cocoon covered in red dots.
"What is that?" asked Andros.
"Oh just a surprise for you and your friends" said Darkonda as he through the cocoon in the air and he sliced it in half with his Sword.
The two half's land on the floor and the buzzing became louder as a large insect came out from it, and it went straight for Andros who managed to avoid it and then it flew off towards Zhane and Karone.
"Watch out" called Andros as Karone and Zhane both turned to see the large bug flying at them and managed to duck away then as they got back to the fight against the Quantrons the bug turned back towards them and landed on Zhane's back.
"Zhane that things landed on your back" said Karone.
"Can you get it off?" asked Zhane.
"Unfortunately not there are too many Quantrons, you'll have to try and get it off yourself" said Karone.
Zhane reached his hand round to his back and tried to shoo the bug away but he was unable to and to make matters worse the attempt to shoo the bug seemed to anger it and it stung Zhane's back through his suit.
"AAAUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH" screamed Zhane.
Zhane fell to the floor his body shivering as his suit started to vanish until he was unmorphed and almost unconscious.
"Andros we have to get Zhane out of here and see if we can heal him" said Karone.
"Right let me just deal with these two. Spiral Saber" called Andros as he Spiral Saber appeared in his hands and he hit Ecliptor and Darkonda with two powerful attacks knocking them back, then as he turned to get back to Karone and help Zhane he picked up half of the creatures shell so they could use it to find out what the bug was.
Karone meanwhile fired her Astro Blaster at the bug and destroyed it then as Andros reached them they teleported out back up the Delta Megaship.
"Andros help me get Zhane to the medical bay so I can start running scans and seeing what is happening to him" said Karone.
Andros helped Karone get Zhane on the Medical table so Karone could run the scans and while the computer was running the data Andros gave Karone the half of the cocoon he had picked up and said to her "Maybe you could run a scan on this as well and see what sort of bug it is and what the cure is for whatever it has infected Zhane with"
"Right" said Karone as she got to work running the second scan.

"So much for that plan Darkonda the Rangers have escaped with half the Barillian Bug's shell now they will be able to identify it" growled Ecliptor.
"Maybe so but they have left us alone which means I can finish off the task given to me by Dark Spector" said Darkonda.
"And what task is that?" asked Ecliptor.
"Very simple ancient universal legend specks of a power source on this planet equal to that of the Power Rangers and it could even be a former Ranger team, Dark Spector tasked me to locate it if it existed and bring it to him to power up General Havocs new fighting team" said Darkonda.
"Then I suggest you begin your search and be quick about it I want you gone when the Rangers return" said Ecliptor before marching away with his Quantrons.

Back on the Delta Megaship the tests run on half of the insects cocoon had revealed the type of bug.
"Oh no we are in big trouble that was a Barillian Bug we need to get down to the medical bay and strap Zhane down tightly otherwise when he mutates one of us will be his first victim" said Andros.
"You go Andros I'm waiting on the results for if there is a cure for this thing" said Karone.
"Ok" said Andros as he made his way down to the medical bay, he strapped Zhane down with the strongest straps they had and he also removed Zhane's Morpher, then he made his way back up to the control room where Karone was waiting for him.
"Done he is restrained as well as we can, please tell me there is a cure?" asked Andros.
"There is and guess what it is only found on 3 planets Earth, KO-35 and in a plant in the southern hemisphere of this planet" said Karone.
"Morph and take your Galaxy Glider to fetch it I will keep an eye on Zhane and keep track on what Ecliptor and Darkonda are up to" said Andros.
"Ok we'll land the ship in the clearing over their so it's out of orbital scan and they will think we have left" said Karone as she headed off to the jump shoots.
"I'll land the ship you go the faster you can find the plant the quicker you can cure Zhane.
Andros carefully landed the ship and went to check on Zhane while the ships computer scanned for Ecliptor and Darkonda. As Andros approached the medical bay he could here buzzing sounds coming from the Medical room so he went to the computer panel beside the door and pulled up a video feed of the inside of the room and he could see that Zhane had begun mutating and was almost completely transformed into a Bug.
"Please hurry Karone" said Andros to himself.
Then a snapping sound was heard and then a thudding noise against the doors, it became clear to Andros that Zhane had broken free of his restraints and was trying to escape from the medical bay he was contained in. Just then the computer beep alerting Andros that it had found Ecliptor and Darkonda and was waiting for Andros to read the results.
"I'm Sorry Zhane but I have to leave you here and get back up to the bridge I hope somewhere inside you can still understand me" said Andros as he left and headed back up to the bridge.

Meanwhile in the medical bay Zhane had fully mutated into a Barillian bug and was trying to find a way to escape the room he was in, and after continually attacking the same point on the door it finally gave in and the Barillian Bug that had been Zhane escaped from the room and then escaped the ship.
On the Bridge Andros saw the whole thing happen and watched as Zhane headed straight for where Ecliptor's signal was coming from, Andros ran back down to the medical bay and was relieved to see that Zhane had not taken his Morpher with him, had that ended up in the hands of the U.A.E who knows how much evil they could have done with it, trusting that Karone would find the plant and that she would come to them with the antidote Andros put Zhane's Morpher in his pocket then he activated his own Morpher and left the Delta Megaship to follow Zhane back to Ecliptor and he hopped that Darkonda was still their so he could take care of both of them and not worry about Karone having to fight one of them while she was looking the antidote.

Three hours later and Andros found the Barillian Bug was with Ecliptor inside a cave but Darkonda was nowhere to be seen.
"Go and infect your former friends, starting with the purple Ranger than the both of you go after the Gold" said Ecliptor to the Barillian bug that was once Zhane.
The bug nodded and started to move away until Andros showed up in front of them with his Spiral Saber drawn ready to defend himself.
"I will not allow you to infect anyone else" said Andros.
"Get him" said Ecliptor.
The Barillian bug attacked Andros who defended himself with his Spiral saber but he never attacked the bug in case it hurt Zhane who was somewhere inside the bug.
"See if you can deal with both of us" said Ecliptor as he joined the attack and soon Andros was in trouble as the constant attacks from Ecliptor and the Barillian bug were getting too much for him.

While this was happening on remote island in the southern hemisphere Karone had found the plant that would make the antidote, she picked it up and got ready to head back to the ship when Darkonda stood in front of her blocking her way.
"You will never leave this location with that plant and I will then find the ancient power source that is hidden on this planet" said Darkonda.
"You will fail at both, I will get this plant back and make the antidote to cure Zhane and then we will stop you from finding this power source if it exists" said Karone.
"Oh it exists alright don't you try and trick me with that old scam of saying it doesn't exist just so you can find it first" said Darkonda.
"Do you think we would have come anywhere near this planet if we hadn't picked up a trace of Eltarian DNA and thought Zordon was here" said Karone.
"I know your brother believes it exists and that is enough proof I need to try and find it first before Ecliptor works out that I really want it for myself and not for Dark Spector to simply give away" said Darkonda.
Karone started to back away from Darkonda but he followed her and she ended up at a ravine and thought to herself 'how do I get out of this predicament'
"Now if you give me the plant I will allow you to live seeing as you will soon be a Barillian bug and then be of more use to me" said Darkonda.
Karone looked down the ravine and it was so deep that you couldn't see the bottom of it and that gave Karone an idea, she took a step back and fell over the cliff and once she was out of the sight of Darkonda she called "Galaxy glider hang 10" then her galaxy glider came speeding along and caught her before he hit the bottom.
"Oh well one Ranger down now back to my search while the other one is busy and will soon become a Barillian bug himself" laughed Darkonda as he walked away.
Meanwhile Karone had stopped her galaxy glider at the end of the cavern she had dropped into and was surprised to find that the ancient Ranger power had really existed and that she had inadvertently found its hidden location.
"Damn now what do I do I can't leave this vulnerable incase Darkonda comes looking down here" said Karone.
"Never fear child of the power" said a strange voice.
"Who's there?" asked Karone.
"I am" said the strange voice.
"And who are you?" asked Karone.
"I am Master Tang and have been here for centuries guarding this power, tell me young one what has led you to search out the power?" asked Master Tang.
"I actually didn't come here to look for the power, I came to find this plant to cure my friend who has been transformed into a strange bug. As I was leaving Darkonda the monster responsible for turning him into the bug was at the top of the ravine looking for the power and tried to stop me from leaving with the cure, I dropped off the ravine on to my Galaxy glider when I was out of his sight and then I found this place while I was looking for a way out. But now I have found you I can't let Darkonda find the power he wants to use it for evil" said Karone.
"He will never find this place only those pure of heart can find this temple thanks to the protection spell placed over this place" said Master Tang.
"So even if Darkonda comes down and searches the ravine he won't see the opening?" asked Karone.
"No he will just see a rock face and if he touches it he will only feel the rock face" said Master Tang.
"Then I will take my leave and return to my teammates and create the antidote to heal my friend" said Karone as she got on her galaxy glider and headed the opposite way out of the ravine that opened out into a rocky out crop that over looked the sea, then she headed back to the Delta Megaship to make the antidote.

Darkonda made his way back to where he had left Ecliptor confident that now they only had one ranger to deal with and that he would soon be a Barillian Bug and then help them take over the rest of the universe.
"Come on Ecliptor have you still not dealt with the Gold Ranger, I have incapacitated one and destroyed another" said Darkonda.
"What have you done to my sister?" screamed Andros.
"I did nothing to her I told her to give me the plant she had for the antidote to the Barillian Bug but she refused and jumped down a ravine" said Darkonda.
"Did you find the ancient power source?" asked Ecliptor.
"No I don't think it ever existed since I could find no evidence of it" said Darkonda.
Andros pulled out his Astro Blaster and his Spiral Saber to be able to better defend himself against what was now three enemies.
"So Ecliptor are you going to attack the Ranger or let him just stand there?" said Darkonda.
"Quantrons attack that Ranger you get in there as well" said Ecliptor to the Barillian Bug.
The Quantrons and the Barillian Bug attacked Andros who had to work hard to defend himself.

Meanwhile in the Delta Megaship Karone was busy extracting the necessary ingredient from the plant and was transforming it in to the antidote but she still needed a way to get it onto Zhane so it could cure him and turn him back into Zhane. Then she had a brain wave and decided to modify her Astro Blaster so it would spray the Antidote over Zhane, she just hoped it would work fast and that Zhane would be able to join them in the fight with Ecliptor since they all knew how strong he was.
Karone was finally ready and was about to leave the Delta Megaship when a teleporting sound could be heard and their stood the Phantom Ranger.
"Phantom Ranger what are you doing here?" asked Karone.
"I have come to assist you in the battle with Ecliptor, Darkonda, the Quantrons and that huge insect like monster out there, where is the Silver Ranger?" asked the Phantom Ranger.
"Uhm he is the insect, which is actually a Barillian Bug and I have the antidote for the sting ready to spray him with so he turns back to himself" said Karone.
"Ok well I will go and assist the Gold Ranger until you are ready and afterwards I have a favor to ask of you three" said the Phantom Ranger.
"We will be glad to help you with anything but first let's sort out this problem" said Karone as she pulled out her Morpher and then shouted "LET'S ROCK IT" she pressed the numbers2580 on her Morpher and then became the Purple Ranger and then they both exited the Delta Megaship.

The two of them made their way to where Andros was being surrounded and the Phantom Ranger said to Karone, "Let me go first you try to sneak round the back and spray Zhane with that antidote"
"Right" said Karone as she went off in a direction that would bring her out behind the Barillian Bug.
The Phantom Ranger waited for a few more minute before making his presence known and appeared beside Andros.
"Gold Ranger it appears I got here just in time" said the Phantom Ranger.
"Your right I thought I was a goner" said Andros.
"Phantom Ranger you will not be able to help him as you will also get infected by the Barillian Bug" said Ecliptor.
"You are wrong we will win and you will lose, and then you will be fixed" said the Phantom Ranger.
With that being said Ecliptor launched himself at the Phantom Ranger while Darkonda tried to attack the Gold Ranger.
Karone had made it to her position and saw the Barillian Bug was near her so she removed her Astro Blaster and doubled checked that she had the antidote loaded into it and once she was sure she approached the Barillian Bug who still hadn't seen her and she aimed her Astro Blaster and fired the Antidote all over the bug.
"AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH" screamed the bug as it began mutating back into Zhane.
"What the hell happened?" asked Zhane as he came round.
"We'll explain later but for just know it's good to have you back and I suggest you morph and help us" said Karone.
"But I don't have my Morpher?" said Zhane.
"HERE" called Andros as he through the Morpher to Zhane.
"Right now I'm ready" said Zhane then he called out "LETS ROCK IT" he pressed the buttons on his Morpher and them his silver suit covered his body.
"You fool Darkonda why did you release that stupid bug on this planet when it has the ingredient to cure the infection?" said an angry Ecliptor.
"I didn't know that the antidote was here when I released the first bug" said Darkonda.
"What do you mean the first one?" questioned Ecliptor.
"I have another bug and this one is capable of growing to a gigantic size" said Darkonda.
"Then release it" said Ecliptor.
Darkonda opened his bag and pulled out the second Barillian Bug cocoon and instead of slicing this one open with his sword he stabbed his sword into the egg and as the Barillian Bug emerged from the cocoon it began growing until it reached Megazord size.
"Guys we need the Delta Megazord" called Andros as he pressed a button on his Morpher that activated the Delta Megaship and it began its transformation.
When it was finished Andros turned to the Phantom Ranger and said "Do you want to join us in the Megazord?"
"No thank you Gold Ranger I will stop Ecliptor from joining the creature in battling you" said the Phantom Ranger.
"Ok well just watch for Darkonda and the Quantrons you are outnumbered after all" said Andros.
"I will stay down here as well and help him I have a score to settle with Darkonda for bringing that creature here and making me turn against you" said Zhane as he activated his Super Silverizer.

In the Delta Megazord Karone and Andros were doing battle with the Barillian Bug and the fight was pretty even neither could gain an advantage and it looked like it would be a long fight.
"Andros can we power up the Delta Megazord Saber or Canon?" asked Karone.
"Not with the creature this close we need some separation to even begin the charging proses" replied Andros.
The Delta Megazord continued to fight and was unable to break through the defenses of the Barillian Bug.

Back on the ground The Phantom Ranger and Zhane were fighting off Darkonda, Ecliptor and the Quantrons.
Zhane slashed at the Quantrons with his Silverizer in its blade mode and destroys the Quantrons then he ran over to where Darkonda was attempting to sneak up on the Phantom ranger while he was battling Ecliptor.
The minute Zhane intercepted Darkonda he began backing away and wasn't looking as confident as he had been while they had the numbers advantage.
"Now then it's just you and me, the Quantrons can't help you and Ecliptor is busy so now I can some revenge on you for bringing that bug and turning me into one" said Zhane.
"Ha don't make me laugh you will never defeat me I am just too powerful for you" said Darkonda.
Zhane swung his Silverizer down at Darkonda and hit him knocking Darkonda to the ground.
"You still think you're too powerful for me to defeat" said Zhane.
"Yes I do but for now I shall leave and when I return it will be your demise" said Darkonda who with a flash teleports away.
"Do you want any assistance Phantom Ranger?" asked Zhane.
"I can defend myself against him, thank you for asking though and I believe your teammates need some assistance as the Delta Megazord appears to be in danger of being defeated" said the Phantom Ranger.
"Right I'll go and help them" said Zhane as he jumped into the Delta Megazord.

"Guy's I'm here to help you" said Zhane as he reached the control room of the Megazord.
"Thanks Zhane we could use the help we're in danger of losing this fight" said Andros as the Barillian Bug delivered another heavy blow to the Delta Megazord.
"We need some separation before we can power up our primary weapons and this bug isn't giving us the time" said Karone.
"Let's hit it with as much force as we can from this close and then when we get the separation we need I guess we blast it with the Canon" said Zhane.
The Delta Megazord swung at the Barillian Bug but it ducked under the attack and hit the Delta Megazord with its tail driving its spiked tail into the Delta Megazords circuitry.
"Look out he's trying to infect the Delta Megazord" said Andros.
"Not just that he is also dealing some major damage with each time he stabs that thing in the Delta Megazord" said Karone.
"We must keep fighting we have no choice we can't let that thing win, who knows how much damage it could do if it escapes the planet" said Zhane.
The Delta Megazord manages to free it's self from the Barillian Bug and once again tries to attack the Barillian Bug only to miss again.

Meanwhile on the ground Ecliptor and the Phantom Ranger lock swords.
"I will defeat you" said The Phantom Ranger.
"You will not I was created to be unbeatable the ultimate weapon" said Ecliptor.
"Everyone has a weakness and I will find yours" said the Phantom Ranger.
"What will you sacrifice to find your answer?" asked Ecliptor.
"I will do anything in my power to find the Answer" said the Phantom Ranger.
"Your friends up in the Delta Megazord are going to be destroyed the Barillian Bug is too powerful for them, are you willing to sacrifice them and risk the Barillian Bug getting off this planet and finding its way to an inhabited planet?" smirked Ecliptor.
"I will help them, but know this I know what you are and I will stop you eventually" said the Phantom Ranger.
"HA you will never defeat me you are to pure that is the problem with every good ranger, even if they started off as evil they have all made the choice to save more lives than to quickly defeat their enemy and now you have as well" said Ecliptor as he vanished.
"Warrior Wheel I require your assistance" called the Phantom Ranger.
The Warrior Wheel emerged from out of nowhere and rolled right into the Barillian Bug knocking it down.
"Rangers I am here to help in the fight" said the Phantom Ranger.
"Thanks we could use the help we have taken some major damage from the tail of that thing" said Andros.
The two Zords now finally began to get the upper hand on the Barillian Bug and soon there was enough separation between the Delta Megazord and the Barillian Bug that the Delta Megazord could activate its saber.
"Delta Megazord Saber full power" called Andros.
The Saber absorbed power and then swung down and destroyed the Barillian Bug.

A few hours had passed and the three Astro Rangers along with the Phantom Ranger were talking about the damage done to the Delta Megazord.
"So how bad is the damage from the Barillian Bug fight?"
"Pretty bad we can't hold the Megazord form for too long until we get that repaired" said Andros.
"How long do you think the repairs will take?" asked the Phantom Ranger.
"That depends on how fast we travel at" said Karone.
Just then an alarm sounded.
"What is going on?" asked Andros.
"We are receiving a faint distress call it appears to be coming from Earth" said Karone.
Karone pressed a button on the computer and the faint distress call played out
"Astro Megaship this is Alpha 6 please respond if you can hear me" said Alpha 6.
"Karone are they responding?" asked Zhane.
"I don't know I only have the receiving frequency for the Power Chamber" said Karone.
"Tommy, Rocky and Adam are in trouble, the Machine Empire is back with new monsters." said Alpha.
"They must have responded since Alpha 6 gave them some more information" said Andros.
"Yes and our best chance to finally join forces with the rest of the team maybe to head to Earth" said Karone.
"May I ask you to take the Warrior Wheel with you to Earth it is a gift for the Zeo Rangers from Trey to help them protect Earth while the other Rangers are away?" asked the Phantom Ranger.
"Of course we will and we need to thank you for helping us today" said Andros.
"No need to mention it the saying goes Once a Ranger always a Ranger" said the Phantom Ranger.
With that said the Phantom Ranger teleported away leaving the three Kerovian Rangers in the Delta Megaship and they plotted their course for Earth and headed off as fast as they safely could while Karone began repairs.
