Professor Snape was inspecting the potions area and saw something that gave him pause. "Miss Chang?"

Cho joined him and he handed her a piece of parchment with a clock drawn on it and several potion stirring directions on it. "Is this what you have been using to cheat?"

She looked the formidable professor square in the eye, "Not cheating sir, relearning." She looked at what he handed her, "and this is what we call The Key." He raised an eyebrow. "We discovered that there are certain letters and numbers that cause his problem to be more obvious." She reached over and gave him one of Greg's potions essays from the beginning of the year, "See how this 'a' is backward? Look at the 'p' as well; again it's backward." Professor Snape nodded his understanding so she continued, she pointed to The Key, "We use the clock to help him relearn how to draw those letters."

"How can a clock help him learn to write?" Professor Johnson asked just as Mr. Malfoy also joined the small group.

Cho turned to him, "A clock works in numeric order from right to left. When you draw a small case letter 'a' you go from 12 to 1 and then down to five. It's a much easier way for Greg to learn certain things like letters, wand motions and stirring. A potion direction might say 'go anti-clockwise 3 and 1/4 times' but Greg would go clockwise. Now he knows anti-clockwise goes from 12 to 1. So stirring a potion 3 ¼ times anti-clockwise, he knows to start at 12 and count backward until he reaches 1 and to do this three times then from 12 to 9 for the quarter turn."

"Interesting idea." Was all Mr. Malfoy said after which Professor Johnson gave a small snort of disbelief and wandered away.

Greg was giving an animated tour of their workspace to his parents. He was explaining what they had tried, what had failed & what had ultimately worked. He had each of his parents try the some of the different ideas to show them how small changes made such a large difference for him.

Maggie was talking to Professor Sprout. The professor had asked after an area that appeared to be dedicated to Herbology. "This is actually what we call the art area. It has to do with Greg's penmanship."

"Yes, I noticed his written assignments have been less...challenging to read." She and Maggie shared a smile. "How do plants help with penmanship?"

"We discovered Greg was using his shoulder with a pushing motion to write instead of his wrist and elbow with a pulling motion." Professor Sprout gave her a confused look. "Try it, Professor." She reached out and lay a piece of parchment out and handed a quill to the professor. "Now, only moved your shoulder while writing your name but push away from yourself while writing each letter."

It was quickly determined that it was nearly impossible. "Quite difficult, I agree and very illegible but again…" She spread her hands out toward the work area.

"He had to learn how to use his elbow and wrist rather than his shoulder. So we actually tied him to a chair so he couldn't move his shoulder and made him trace objects. The object didn't matter just that he used only his wrist and elbow. We started with larger objects & worked down in size. Right now, he's working on small objects and the leaves of these plants are pretty small." She had gathered some of the used parchments and handed them to the professor to examine.

"You tied him to a chair?!" Professor Sprout queried.

Maggie laughed, "Yes we did. It helped him with his posture. And neither Cho or I are strong enough to physically make him keep his shoulders back even when we ganged up on him." Maggie was smiling.

Ms. Henry had quietly joined Professors Dumbledore & McGonagall on their turn about the room. She watched the two administrators look over blackboards and parchments containing assignments. They stopped when they arrived at what Ms. Henry realized was a spiral notebook and pen sitting on a desk. When neither professor moved to open it yet continued to look at it, Ms. Henry spoke up as she picked up the notebook. Reading the cover she opened it. "I'm sure they won't mind if you picked it up. According to the cover," she closed the notebook and pointed at what was written on it, "this one has to do with those potion stirring motions they mentioned." She flipped through the notebook and pointed to different names and diagrams.

Professor McGonagall took the notebook and examined it's contents carefully, the Headmaster looking over her shoulder. After Ms. Henry moved away toward Professors Johnson and Hawk-Monitor, Minerva turned to the Headmaster, "Albus, this is a wonderful item. All the parchments contained in one book. This would make a measurable difference for our students."

Dumbledore nodded his head sagely but before he could say anything Lucius Malfoy joined them, "Headmaster, Professor McGonagall, I see evidence of some questionable teaching ideas, some horribly thought out teaching ideas which failed and some very innovative teaching techniques. What I don't see, however, is any evidence of cheating."

The Headmaster nodded his head again, "Recommendations, Mr. Malfoy?"

"None as I have seen no evidence of these students doing anything untoward," Mr. Malfoy replied.

Albus smiled his thanks at Mr. Malfoy and took the notebook from Professor McGonagall. He handed it to Mr. Malfoy "an interesting idea, Lucius." He and the transfiguration professor left the school governor to study the notebook as they continued to look around the room.

It took another 20 minutes of the professors asking the teens questions before the Headmaster raised his voice just loud enough to be heard, "If the professors and Mr. Malfoy would join me for a private word…" Suddenly a room appeared near the art area of the room. "And as the room had been kind enough to provide a space for us to converse, let us adjourn there." He smiled and led the way with all the professors following.

When they entered the room a collection of hard, ladder-back chairs had been provided. Each person took one and the discussion began. Mr. Malfoy was the first to speak, "I have already told Albus and Minerva this, I found no evidence of cheating."

"Agreed!" Professors Babbling and Sprout said simultaneously.

"Severus?" Dumbledore asked.

"I find it difficult to believe all the things I saw in there came only from a student's desire to help a fellow student but I also was unable to find anything to indicate cheating," Severus confirmed.

"Professor Hawk-Monitor? Do you have anything to add? You did bring up the original question." The Headmaster asked.

"No Professor."

Dumbledore waited a moment as it seemed the DADA Professor was going to say something else. When he didn't add anything to his short statement, the Headmaster turned to the Muggle Studies Professor, "Professor Johnson?"

"No Headmaster, I have nothing to add. I concur with the conclusion."

Headmaster Dumbledore's eyes twinkled a bit as he addressed the collected adults, "I believe we are all agreed that these students did not cheat." He received both eager and resigned head nods of agreement. "Very well, let us return and inform our clever students and their families." He led the way out of the smaller room. As he emerged he noticed Greg was walking his parents through some of the exercises and techniques that the three students had developed to help him while the other students added bits and pieces. The waiting adults, smiling, just watched their children.

So engrossed in what they were doing, the students and parents didn't hear the professors return at first. "Dear people," eight sets of eyes turned to him, "I see no reason to keep you waiting. The professors, myself and Mr. Malfoy all agree that though there is evidence of some interesting teaching methods there is nothing that indicates cheating." He was not surprised at the large smiles that broke out on every face he could see. "Now, I think we could all use a bit of lunch. I'm sure our wonderful house-elves have outdone themselves today." He turned and escorted is Deputy out of the Room of Requirement followed by quite a few of the professors.

Before Professor Snape left, he stopped all three students. "I see you have been very careful with your brewing but I think it would be best if you continue your potions studies in the potions classroom under supervision to prevent any possible catastrophes. I will allow you access for 3 hours every Thursday after dinner. I will be there grading assignments and assisting other students."

Variations of "Thank you Professor!" were echoed by the teens before Professor Snape strode from the room. The beaming teens turned to embrace their respective parents and receive well-deserved congratulations.

The student body of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry knew the meeting had concluded when all the seats at the head table were occupied. When the group of students and parents made it to the Great Hall for lunch, they were set upon by friends and gossip mongers alike. The happiness, smiles and the relief pouring in waves off the group was all the indication their friends needed to conclude that what they were accused of had been proven false. While friends were happy for their fellow students, the gossip mongers were still frustrated that they didn't know exactly what was happening and still no one was talking.

The rest of the day the teens spent with their parents but as the dinner hour approached the magical parents left for the night. It had been arranged that Ms. Henry would spend the night in the castle and leave in the morning taking the reverse trip with Professor Johnson. Before she left the next morning, she received a message to speak with Professor Dumbledore in his office. Maggie walked her to the entrance of the spiral staircase. They hugged and said their goodbyes before Maggie spoke the password that had been included in the message.

Ms. Henry arrived at the Headmaster's office thoroughly amused by the moving staircase that was so similar to the escalators in her world. After she knocked on the door, she was bid enter and to have a seat.

"Ms. Henry. Thank you for joining me before your long journey home."

"My pleasure Headmaster. What can I do for you?"

"Ms. Henry, I would like your help." Dumbledore smiled.

When he didn't immediately continue, "How can I help you?"

Before he could speak again they were joined by another person. "Ms. Henry. Lucius Malfoy at your service," the imposing blonde addressed her.

"Yes, Mr. Malfoy, I recall meeting you not 24 hours ago."

"Mr. Malfoy asked to speak to you before you left. Lucius?" Albus supplied helpfully.

Mr. Malfoy cleared his throat, "I was hoping you would be able to tell us more about this...whatever it is the children seem to think affects Mr. Goyle."

"To what end, Mr. Malfoy? It appeared no one believed them about learning disabilities yesterday."

"I admit, I am not convinced about these disabilities of which you speak but of what I am convinced is that young Mr. Goyle was near expulsion until your daughter and Miss Chang worked with him. I am interested in how they achieved their current success with such a...difficult situation."

"I see. Well, you were there Mr. Malfoy. You saw everything they tried and what actually worked for Greg. I'm not sure I can tell you more than they can. Learning disabilities exist, Mr. Malfoy, whether or not you are convinced. I see Greg and all the trouble he had, all the success he has had and all he will accomplish in the future as proof."

"I didn't see any evidence that he has a disability. All I saw proof of is that he needed a different way to learn the regular material."

"Exactly! That's all a learning disability is!"

"I'm not sure I follow, Ms. Henry." Mr. Malfoy said.

Ms. Henry stopped for a moment and rethought her explanation. She realized she had to couch her words in a way that they would understand without using Muggle terms. "Alright, some people are better at one thing over another. You may be better at potions but not be very good at say herbology. Not every person is good at everything. Agreed?" At their nods of accent, she continued, "In Greg's case what he wasn't good at is learning the way everyone else does. All Maggie and Cho have done was discover a way that helped him learn. That doesn't mean the teachers here are bad or inept teachers it just means that Greg needed a different way. He is still learning all the material you want him to learn, he's just using different techniques to learn it. Are those techniques somewhat...unconventional? Yes, they are, but it's what Greg needed."

The Headmaster had a question, "Ms. Henry are these disabilities passed from parent to child?"

"I don't know, Headmaster. There is no evidence of that in the non-magical world. But in the magical world...there is no way to tell without extensive study."

"How do we identify these students that might need a different way to learn?" He asked.

"I'm not sure. I'm not an expert in this field but there are experts that could be of assistance to you. I think a good place to start is to look at who is failing in school and find out why. Are they just not trying? Are there family issues that are taking their focus or maybe they have the same problem as Greg. The point is now that you know there is the potential for this type of problem, your teachers have to help identify those that need help and figure out a way to help."

"I see. Thank you, Ms. Henry, for your assistance. Professor Johnson is scheduled to return with you to Galloway. I asked him to meet you at the gargoyle at the base of the stairs. Do you need assistance with the spiral staircase?"

"No thank you, Headmaster. It is just like the escalators I am used to." She collected her bag and shook both gentlemen's hands before exiting the office. It wasn't just Professor Johnson who met her. Greg, Cho, Maggie and a small group of friends were also there. "Hello. What's all this then?"

Greg spoke up first, "I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done for me. I really appreciate it more than I can say."

"You did the work, not me. I just gave you the information. What you did with it was all you. I think you are going to do good things, Mr. Goyle. I look forward to hearing about them from my Maggie." She gave Greg a hug. "Now, who are all these other people?"

Draco, Hermione, Tracey, Theo, and Vince were introduced as friends of Greg and Cho and now Maggie as well. At hearing this Maggie blushed and Ms. Henry beamed.

"Excuse me, Ms. Henry, but we have to go or you may miss your train in Galloway." Professor Johnson broke in.

"Of course, Professor. Thank you." She turned back to her daughter and pulled into a tight hug. "I love you, Maggie. You have done such great things. You keep going and I'll see at the Easter hols."

"I love you mum. I'll keep you posted on what's happening here with..everything."

Ms. Henry left with Professor Johnson and the students turned to each other. "Now what do we do for the rest of the day?" Tracey asked.

It was Greg who answered, "I don't know about you all but I have a DADA essay I need to work on." The group broke into gales of laughter but this time they were laughing with Greg instead of at him. He really liked the difference.

"The Library?" Hermione asked with joy.

Greg nodded, "The Library."

Author's Note: The techniques and ideas that are in this chapter are from my own imagination. They are techniques that make sense to me but like Cho & Greg, I have no experience with Learning Disabilities. I have learned things like using lined paper, pulling to make letters rather than pushing, using your wrist and elbow rather than your shoulder (which I didn't even know was possible to do) and proper posture by researching for this story. The clock idea is from my own imagination. If you or someone you know find this idea useful, GOOD FOR YOU!

There will be one more chapter because we need to know what happens to Greg and everyone, correct. I don't when that will be done, but I have hope that it won't be too much longer. Thank you so much for sticking with my little story...Sweet Trufflepuff.
