Description: Ashura is a very irresponsible parent sometimes

Ashura bit the inside of his lip and did his best not to smile. What had he gotten himself into this time… He may not have intended this to happen—but he honestly could have expected it. If anything about Fai was expectable.

Fai took another sip of his wine and giggled a bit before smiling at the king. "You know what I've wanted to do since, like, forever my king?"

"Enlighten me."

"Build a snow man! But not just any snow man. A supper cool snowman guarding a snow fort! But you wanna know what the best part will be?" the tween smiled even brighter, perhaps this simple fact made it all worthwhile.

"What's that?"

"We would build it together and then hide in side and through snowballs at all the guards that walk by."

Sitting back the king couldn't help but smile now. He hadn't known that Fai had such a devious side hiding under that adorable cute exterior of his. It made Ashura wonder just what went on in that little head of his when he silently watched people.

"What if you hurt someone's feelings?"

The blonde seemed to think about this for a bit as he took another long sip of wine. Ashura really should do the responsible thing and take it away… on the other hand this was really quite amusing.

"Why would it hurt their feelings if it's only for fun and games?"

"I think that's a lesson better left for a time when you may actually remember it." He took a sip of his own wine and watched Fai pout for a bit before getting distracted again.

"So can we build a snow man?"

"How about we do it first thing tomorrow morning, remember the fields are being used by the court mages today for training."

"Do you promise?" Fai was wiggling in his seat with excitement.

"Yes."

Fai beamed. Ashura thought he really was very cute.

It wouldn't be long now until the members of court came looking for him and tried to send him to yet another war meeting, but that would prove to be a bit of a problem.

He couldn't very well leave Fai to his own devises. And finding someone to watch over the babbling tween was out of the question. It was no secret that nobles enjoy their wine, but that still wouldn't be an excuse for this…

Perhaps he would wait for the time to come before he decided to handle it at all. This was the most amusement he had had in a long while.

When Ashura returned to his room he found Fai asleep in his bed. The blonde had curled himself into a rather small ball and was snoring lightly. Every now and then he would mumble something, a habit that had started rather recently.

It was already morning so the king didn't even bother to fall asleep until Fai woke up. He was hoping that the blonde wouldn't remember that he had promised to build a fort. It would look rather ridicules after all, for a king to be rolling around in the snow.

Perhaps he could use this as an opportunity to teach Fai a lesson. Yes, this would be perfect. Wine was fun of course, but too much of it was a very very bad thing, especially with so many touchy nobles around.

Walking across the room he opened the heavy velvet curtain allowing the unholy sunlight to flood in. Made all the more horrid by the fact that it was it was reflected wonderfully off the snow.

His adoptive son began to stir almost immediately. Pulling a pillow over his head he groaned a bit before mumbling something.

"mmmurn mmt off!"

"Good morning Fai! Are you ready to go outside a build a snow fort?" Ashura's voice was a bit louder than it would normally be.

"Nooooooo… its bed time…. Come to bed…."

"I thought that you wanted to play in the snow? What's wrong?"

"Bed… sleep… I don't…. my head… grrr I DON'T WANNA!" Fai pulled the pillow more tightly around himself and curled closer.

"Why ever not?"

"My head…."

"Do you know why your head hurts?" No answer came but the pillow moved a bit. Perhaps he had nodded. Since his intention was not to torture Fai, he pulled the curtains closed and sat on the bed. "I assume you mean no. Do you remember lunch yesterday?"

Another little rustle. "I know you didn't magically forget how to speak. Come on now, do you remember lunch yesterday?"

"Yes."

"I see, so now you know what happens when you drink too much wine. And why during the holidays I like to sleep in until midafternoon."

Fai sat up to look at the king with a rather grumpy expression. "Why did you let me do it if you knew this was going to happen?"

"I doubt you would have believed me on how truly awful it is. Besides a little life experience never hurt anyone…well in most cases…"

The king stood once again and walked over to his side of the bed. He didn't bother dressing for bed and crawled in as he was. He needed some rest before the next couple of meetings.
