"Put some clothes on!" Sookie yells from the kitchen as I stride past her.
"Who cares? It's not like I have anything to hide."
I didn't look back at her as I dropped to the couch, some nature magazine lifted. Sookie was packing away the food she had cooked. It was a normal thing for Sookie to snap at me. Days of living together and she should have been used to it.
"Yes you do," she calls back. "Like those scars."
I huff, frowning toward the kitchen. Bitch.
All thoughts were shortened as I heard movement on the front porch. The door flew open with a wave of my hand as I strode toward it. I stood in the doorway to the living room as the door finished opening.
A smirk and blond hair was all I needed. I sighed loudly as my hands snapped to my hips. Sookie put her rag down to peak out to see who it was.
"Eric?"
"The fuck you want?" I huff.
His eyes were on me, looking over the cream and white lace bra and panty set I had on. Honestly, they were modest. They covered more than my usual. Sookie's eyes snapped to me.
"I told you to put clothes on," she mocks with a smirk of triumph.
Eric's eyes were on the exposed flesh of my middle. It looked like I had survived a mauling. My eyes roll at her, hand lifting to wave her off.
"Fuck clothing. I'm home. I can go around naked for all I care."
"You're in my home," Sookie reminds me.
I smile warmly at her. "Not like Northman's complaining."
"I am," Sookie huffs. "Get a robe on or something."
"What ever," I call out as I twirl away to flip the bird at her. "Don't be jealous that you're embarrassed to be naked."
"Get a robe on, Fae!" Sookie snaps loudly.
Silence followed. Sookie sighed, frowning down the hall toward the bathroom. Her eyes flicked back to the male outside of her door.
"What are you here for?"
"Lovely to see you too, Miss Stackhouse. I see you're having a good night as well."
"Damn skippy it is," I say happily while walking in. I was closing the short robe around me. The red and white pattern drawing more attention to my pale skin and hair. "Now where's that alcohol I wanted."
He lifted a large case from his side, a brow lifted as he smirked at me. I beam, hand giving a wave. The case lifted from his hand, hovering in the air before me. I paid them both no mind as I used my power to keep the case before me as I used both hands to open the case to get a bottle from it.
A happy groan left me as the foam and beer filled my mouth. Sookie snatched the case from the air as I went to step away. I paused, beer lowering to look at her questioningly.
"What? I had it."
"I bet you did," she huffs with a frown. "I'm putting it in the fridge."
Two more bottles lifted from the case before she could get far. I caught them with ease before motioning to Eric. I stepped out into the warm night, opening a second beer. The first bottle was set to the side by me.
Sookie came out after a moment, frowning at Eric as she came to lean on the railing with me. I had my back to the male, eyes on the night. Sookie kept him in her sights, clearly not happy with him being here.
"I seem to have come at a good time."
I smirk as I glance toward him. "Depends on your opinion."
Sookie rolls her eyes, swatting my shoulder. I hardly flinch, looking back out at the sky.
"You seem to forget, Miss Stackhouse," Eric speaks as he shifts a bit closer. My eyes were instantly back on him. "I owe Miss Lynwood her part of the deal."
I sit up, "Yeah, about that. I need a bit more." I held the now empty bottle toward him. He took the spare that I had set out, keeping it from me. A frown was given to him as he held the bottle firmly in his grasp.
"Drinking will impair your thought," Eric states with a mocking smirk.
Sookie shot me a look as I straighten to glower at Eric.
"Just what I was looking for," I huff, holding my hand out.
"Fae, you've had two in just as many minutes," Sookie states.
"Good point," I quip, "Obviously I need more."
"What would Mr. Compton say if he found the person entrusted to his human's health was drunk?"
I laugh. "Like I give a fuck."
Sookie looked offended at me. My arms cross, lifting a brow to challenge her. She snatched the bottle from Eric, opening the top. I cheered up instantly, hand moving as if to take it. She would have none of it as her hand tilted the extended bottle over the railing.
"Ah!" I cry out, quickly reaching out with my power. The liquid which had began to pour stopped it's fall. Sookie looked a bit surprised as I motioned with my hands. It lifted, pushing back up into the bottle. The bottle forcefully turned back around, Sookie crying out as it snapped from her hand. "Alcohol abuse isn't cool, Sook," I snip while catching the bottle.
"What is the extent of your powers, Miss Lynwood?" Eric asks as he looks down at me as if reevaluating me.
I take a drink from the bottle, frowning at him. After swallowing the drink I lower the bottle. "Go fuck yourself, Northman. I'm not going to work for you."
"Technically you do." He looked so smug. Fine. Yeah I kinda did.
"Still sticking with the 'go fuck yourself'," I comment casually as I lean backward on the railing, elbow holding me up.
"Watch your language, Fae," Sook says offhandedly. "Why are you here, Eric? I'm not due till tomorrow."
I frown, glancing to her. "News to me. The hell?"
She shoots me a look as if to tell me off. I shrug, taking another drink of beer. Eric takes a step closer.
"You've been avoiding my calls. How was I to know if all was well?"
I laugh. "Yeah. Trust me, hard not to tell."
A small box was shoved at me. I jerked back a bit, eyes flashing down to look at the thing Eric shoved at me. It was hardly an inch from my chest. Sookie frowns. She leans over to look as I open the box. A Samsung Galaxy in an Otter Box. I frown, lifting the item to look it over.
"The hell is with this?" It was pink with white accents. "I will not be seen with this."
I shove the thing back at him. Sookie rolls her eyes, as I tap the box against Eric's chest. He didn't lift a hand to take it. She snatches it from me, looking it over. It was brand new. She calmly snaps the layers of the case off. A simple black and silver phone is pushed to me.
I smile a bit as I take it. "Ooh. This, I can use."
Sookie drops the Otter Box back into the box Eric had brought it in. I was playing with the phone, flipping through screens. The box is held out to the man without looking to him.
"Perhaps you will be easier to reach," Eric says while taking the box.
Random ringtones started sounding as I flipped through things. "Doubtful."
Sookie huffed that out. "Fae likes to hang up on people when they bore her."
I laugh a little as I fiddle with the phone, partially ignoring them. "Yeah. Jason's more fun when you piss him off."
After a moment, I pushed the phone into my bra. Sookie rolled her eyes, a new habit of hers. Eric's brow lifted as he smirked.
"So, tomorrow?"
"We'll be there. Come on, Fae."
She motioned me toward the open door. I glanced back at Eric and held the phone up with a smile.
"Thanks for the phone."
What ever he was going to say was cut as Sookie shut the door a bit hard. I laughed seconds after, bouncing up the stairs to bed.
"This is stupid," I complain as we exit the car. Sookie stepped out in one of her typical sundresses.
I on the other hand looked ready for a night on the town. Spike heels on my feet. My hair was curled and clipped to the side with a silver clip with a butterfly. A tight dress hugged my form, thin straps looking like they were not up to the job of keeping the dress up. My cleavage was exposed along with my legs, seeing as how the dress seemed to hardly cover my ass.
Clearly, I wasn't happy with the situation. I was dressed for a different kind of club. Sookie had said we were going out to a club. She hadn't said it was a fangbar. My neck was utterly exposed like a tease on the left side. Clearly I hadn't known.
I walked briskly ahead of Sookie, heels clacking on the shitty lot. There wasn't anyone at the door, but it was a bit crowded on the inside. Typical. Red and black, stripper poll, goth wannabes. I grit my teeth as Sookie stopped next to me, looking around.
"This is fucking stupid," I snip, shooting her an angry look. "I am not listening to you again."
"I said it was a club," Sookie defends, innocent in all of this.
"Clearly your backwoods shit doesn't mean the same as what I know it to be."
"Not my fault you dressed like that," she comments flippantly.
I look away, arms crossing in defiance. I couldn't complain about the music, something dance worthy with a bit of rock. Kind of a nice mix. Sookie took my arm, leading me a few steps in.
"Mm," a woman purrs as she stops us. Vampire.
It wasn't her pretty face that had my eyes. "Jesus Christ on a Thursday," I gasp out, eyes wide. "You're my hero."
"Ow!" I cry out, holding the back of my head where Sookie cuffed me.
The blond female looked to me. Her eyes flicked up and down my form, a smug smirk curving her lips.
"Sookie, what a delight to see you," she says as she looks back to Sookie. "I see you've brought a new friend."
"Pam," Sookie says with such grand joy. "This is my cousin, Faelyn."
"Pleasure," Pam says as she pretty much eye fucks me.
I motion at the woman, eyes hard on Sookie. "At least somebody likes it."
"You look like a whore," Sookie counters, frowning at me. Clearly we had argued over this.
"Better than you. You're no virgin."
Her jaw drops a bit at me. I could see the hell I would pay in her eyes. Pam cut our argument short, finger extended toward my feet.
"Silver would have been better."
I light up. "Can you be my idol? Clearly I need more influence than Sookie."
She smirked again, looking me over. "You must be the one Eric mentioned."
"Ooh. I was mentioned," I say while seeming to glow in pride. "I'm telling you, Sook. Being awesome does have benefits."
"Your ego is making you look fat."
I let out a laugh, quickly linking my arm with Sookie's. We looked toward Pam, waiting.
"Let's get this over with," Sookie starts, moving around Pam.
"Do I need to be there? Or can I stay at the bar?"
Her hand quickly held me tight. "I'm not leaving you alone at the bar."
Pam smirked walking ahead of us. "Afraid she might get taken?"
"No," Sookie speaks up as she opens a door near the bathrooms. "I'm sure she'll start ordering drinks."
"No harm there," I laugh as the door shuts behind us.
The music was nearly cut off back here. The lighting was dim as Sookie led me to a door. Pam leaned around us, knocking with a bored expression. I didn't hear anything but Pam opened the door for us. I smirk at her as I pass her. She was pretty, and knew how to dress. Yeah, my new idol or crush. Eric sat behind a desk. There were two people sitting in chairs before the desk. One was a female near my age. The other was a male, a little older. I want to say he was in his thirties. Good looking, none the less.
Eric smirked as he saw me leaning on Sookie. I smiled brightly, moving to sit on the edge of the desk. I sat on the side closer to the male, back to Eric. Sookie stepped in, stopping by me as she looked to the people.
"Miss Lynwood, how good to see you."
"Hi, Northman," I say absently while looking at the handsome male. He had green eyes, brown hair, bit of a five-o-clock shadow.
I cross my legs, toe of my shoe pointed at him. He was looking at me now, eyes flicking over my dress and the rest of me. Sookie swatted my arm again. There was a red mark this time. I didn't flinch, but started bouncing my foot. My eyes had slipped to the side a bit.
"I see you came dressed up."
I glance back at Eric, smirking. "Good of you to notice. Sookie thinks I look like a whore."
"Your dress is hardly covering anything," Sookie huffs, motioning at the skirt.
"Covers just nicely," I state proudly. "It would have looked terrible if I came dressed like I normally do."
"That wouldn't have been bad," Sookie admits, thinking of what I wore earlier.
I roll my eyes, looking toward Eric. "Get this show on the road. I've got plans for the rest of my night off."
"Miss Stackhouse," Eric says with a motion at the two. "Meet Mr. Jacobs and Miss Yultz."
I blink at them. Sookie glances to them. Eric continues. "Mr. Jacobs is my day man. Miss Yultz is another worker."
"Woop-die-doo," I mock, twirling a finger in the air.
"There have been murders within my area, " Eric supplies. "During the day. They have been killing vampires."
I frown now, eyes hardening as I look to the duo. They looked a bit nervous now. Miss Yultz looked far from comfortable while Mr. Jacobs was a bit more sure of himself. I drop to my feet, turning to face a confused and frowning Sookie. I tapped her shoulder.
"I'm out. I think I'll find my new hero."
Her hand whipped out, grasping my hand. I pause, glancing back to her. She looked pointedly at Eric.
"You said you would stay with me, Fae."
She was frowning with a pout at me. A huff escaped me as my hip cocked to the side and my head sagged in defeat. I looked back at her through my hair. Clearly I was exasperated.
"Sookie, I love you and all," I start, voice clearly showing how tired I was of the crap. "But, I'm tired of you trying to mommy me. I'm only a few months younger. Not years. I know how to take care of myself. Let it go."
"That's not the point, Fae," Sookie huffs. I had been snipping at her all day for snipping at me.
"Let the freaking apron strings go, Sook. I'm going to have a beer, mock a person or two and keep my nose the hell out of this business." Sookie's mouth opened as all in the room looked to us, as we wasted time.
"Part of your promise was to help me," Sookie says after taking hardly a moment to keep from saying something mean. "That includes this."
"No. My promise was to keep you safe. How is the both of us diving into this keeping you safe? I've had more than enough drama in my life. I draw lines. This is one of them."
"Are you done arguing?" Eric asks from his lazing position behind his desk. "If so, I would like to get this over with."
"Be quiet, Eric," we both snapped in unison.
We turned back to glowering at each other. Sookie held strong. As did I. What the others didn't know, Sookie was pushing at my mind. I reached out quickly and palmed her face lightly. It was enough to surprise her. She stumbled a step, eyes wide.
"What the hell did I say?" I demand, eyes hard on her. "You'll give me a migraine and I wont be held responsible."
Eric was on his feet, frowning at us. "Can we move on?" he nearly bit it out.
I shot him a grin. "If you sit back down."
Sookie sighed, rolling her eyes as I moved to sit on the desk as I had before. Only after Eric had sat. Sookie stood a bit to the side, arms crossed as she looked at the people.
"You could glamour them," Sookie points out.
I let out a yawn of boredom, hand flapping at Sookie. "Easier this way."
"Easier?" she demands as she glances from me to Eric.
"Yeah, you get money out of Eric this way. Or I should say we."
She smiles a little deviously at that, looking to them. "I'm to see what I can find?" she asks out loud.
"I'll just sit here and look pretty," I say with dry enthusiasm.
Sookie steps forwards. The female was her first target. Her wide eyes snapped to Sookie as she came at her slowly with one hand extended out. She got half way out of the chair before she cried out, suddenly stiff and still in the chair. I had one hand dangling in my lap, fingers at her as my eyes flicked to Eric.
"So, this Pam. Any chance I could get her number?"
His brow shot up. "I had not thought you batted for that team."
I shrug. "Take it how you will. I see no issues with liking what you like. But, I'd love her opinion next time I have to shop." I motion with my free hand at my attire. "I need a few nicer outfits. Preferably not all black."
His smirk was there as he looked over my attire. "Black does suit you."
My eyes roll as I glance back to Sookie. Her eyes were shut as she focused. "Black is a wonderful thing, but I need something for job interviews. Maybe even a dress or two for other occasions." My head nods at Sookie. "Can't very well have Sook help me. Sunshine yellow does not work for me."
I smirk as Sookie pulls away, my fingers dropping. The woman about jumped from the chair, glaring at Eric.
"So?" Eric speaks up.
"She only knows about one of the killings. I'd say she was an accomplice for that one."
"Imagine that," I snip, with a look to Eric. "You knew she was there, Eric. Why are you wasting my time?"
"One can never be too sure."
"I refuse to have her touch me," the dayman demands, eyes hard.
"Shut up, and relax." Eric left it all to us.
The day man let out a yell of surprise as his fisted hands suddenly snapped together, body stiff as a board. Sookie glanced to me.
"You got him?"
"Of course I do," I huff. "Here."
My hand jerked up with a flick. The man's body followed, arms extended above his head, feet hovering over the ground. The woman screamed out, backing away. I paid her no mind, one hand at her. I kept my hand out and eyes on the man.
"There, Sookie. You're fine. He's hardly able to blink."
The woman was stuck in place, watching in horror. Sookie stepped forward with confidence. Her hand rested on the side of his face, eyes on his.
"So," I start after Sookie pushes into the man's mind. "Can I get her number or not?"
"What would I get out of this?"
"You already know where I live, where I work, and the number to reach me," I huff out, unwilling to look from the man. "It's not like I'll be trying to fuck her or something." I pause, smirk pulling at my lips a little as Sookie pulls back from the man. Her cheeks were a little pink. "But I won't stop her if she tries."
"Fae!" Sookie swatted my arm.
I let out a loud laugh, arms dropping my victims to block the next swing Sookie gave me. It struck the flat of my arm, my other hand reaching out to lightly pop her cheek.
"You're such a prude," I laugh as she frowns at me.
"Just hold on to them," she snaps as the man was getting to his feet.
My arms swung out, hardly missing striking Sookie across the head in the wide movement. I'd all my focus on the two, they both lifted like rag dolls before I swung them together. I kept both hands on them as I leaned back to look at Eric.
"Seems we have a winner. And seeing as I was paid only to accompany Sook and not use my powers, you owe me."
