It was easy getting Sook in bed. Much to the chagrin of Jason, I merely used my power to move her from the living room to the bedroom in the back. I came out a bit later, Sook tucked in and heels clicking in the oddly quiet home. Niall was standing near the entrance to the living room, like he was waiting.
"You will be up a bit still?"
"Yeah," I confess with a nod. "Going to clean up and get some work done. Get some rest."
He gives a soft gaze, hand lifting to rest on the top of my hair. Those eyes a hint similar to my own flicked over my face. There was a small hint of sadness at the edge of those eyes. I gently take his shoulders, leaning in to place a kiss on his cheek.
"Get some rest, grandpa."
The hand on my hair slid back, cupping the back of my head before lowering and he turned to leave up the steps. Jason gave a grunt, getting up from the couch.
"If you've got it. I'm getting a shower and rest too."
He lightly slugged my arm as he went by. My hand swung out, cuffing the back of his head before he was out of reach. A laugh was shared as he went up the steps. My hands went to my hips, glancing over the space.
The table lifted, moving over Ben seated on the couch to lower silently to the floor where it belonged. My hands lightly motioned about, things shifting and finally the bottles, cartons and glasses lifting to hover after me on the way to the kitchen. The door to the freezer opened, things shifting to proper places. Trash to the can. Dishes to the sink. Ice cream in the freezer.
I turned the water on by hand, getting the sponge and soap ready to wash the few dishes. Hands slid about to rest at my hips from behind. I smiled, head tilting as I felt him leaning in. Lips gave a light press to my throat before he was kissing and giving little nips. The dishes were nearly forgotten, eyes fluttering shut and leaning back into him.
"Nice dress."
A shoulder rolls a bit against him. "Ben, I'm washin' dishes."
"They can wait."
He was nipping again, a small moan slipping from me as one of his hands slid forward to press to my middle and pull me more against him.
"Hey, Fae-"
Jason cut off. Our heads shot up to look at his surprise approach. Neither of us had been paying mind. Ben chuckled, tucking his face into my hair as I grinned cheekily at the frowning man.
"What, Jason?"
"You best not be doin' what I think you're doin'," he tries to firmly cow.
"Oh, stop it, Jase," I laugh a bit as Ben shifts a bit from me to give the 'goood-ol'-boy' smile to Jason. "You're bein' a hypocrite. What do you want?"
Jason gave Ben the stink eye. "Was goin' to ask if you'd pack my lunch for tomorrow."
I wave a hand, shooing him off. "Sure sure. Get to bed."
Jason points threateningly at Ben. "That's my cuz, man. Don't go makin' moves on her."
I push into Ben, winking toward Jason. "That's good. Cause I was makin' moves on him."
He scoffs a laugh, head shaking as he heads up again. I titter lowly, finishing the dishes quickly. Hands dried, I turn to place my palms on his chest, tilting in to kiss his lips lightly. He grasped my hips, holding me close and pushing the kiss longer, deeper.
"If that's what you want," I lowly tease, tapping his chest while looking into his eyes. "You best pay more mind to those around us."
"Is that a yes then?"
My tongue flicks out, teasingly tracing his jaw line. "Why would I say no?"
I was up in a burst of motion. We were out the door, my dress riding up to curl legs about him. And the next I was pressing back into the lawn by the tall flowers and bushes Gran had. There was little preamble, the both of us more than eager.
Our lips hardly parted, trying to not be loud as we did so. When he trailed kisses down my neck, hands moved down to get the pants open. His hand was sliding along the seam line on the left thigh high, eyes flicking up with mischief as he felt a bare rear. Nothing under this dress at all. I grinned devilishly at him, pants sagging about his hips to show that he held no under clothes either.
My leg was hitched to the side and hands grasping. It was every thing in my power to stay quiet as our hips connected. On his knees, helping to angle my hips, his head fell back, eyes closing as he panted. It wasn't meant to be anything long. Quicky at best. The only sound aside from stifled sound and my labored breathing was the steady slap of skin of our actions. He didn't hit vampire speeds.
Our eyes met, his fangs glinting in the moon light. And all control on my part was lost. Heat surged, getting a growl of pleasure from him, rhythm shifting at the scalding temperature change. My own mouth opened, head back and a clawed hand sinking firmly into the grown to help slam back to meet him. My sharp teeth were no doubt on display, nails of the other hand grasping at his leg.
He shifted down to lay on top, hips slamming hard and fast. His hand covered my mouth, stifling the sounds escaping no matter my control. And his fangs snapped into my neck. He didn't stop moving as he drank. I was gone, eyes rolled back.
It wasn't as quick as we didn't really stop. This time I was on top, dress pushed far up my hips and pulled down to under my breast. It sort of was a thrill, doing it in the yard when somebody from the home or a threat could come at any moment. But it was alarming as the flesh where we touched lit up like he'd showed me how with our hands. It nearly stopped me, but Ben's hands kept me in motion, causing me to ignore it.
We slipped into the house quietly, moving to the shower to clean up before Niall would wake or Sook. Though, I bet she wasn't going to be waking soon.
I had to leave the next day to get some work done during the daylight hours.
Sookie frowned as she leaned on the desk in Sam's office, listening to the phone ring. After a number of rings, it picked up.
"Stackhouse residence."
"Ben?" Sookie frowned a bit, glancing toward the hall when she thought she heard Sam coming. Nothing yet. "Why are you answerin'?"
"Don't think Niall likes the phone. Something wrong?"
"You seen Fae? She was due to get me a while ago."
There was a tense quiet on the other end. "Have you tried her phone?"
"Yeah. A lot. Rang a few times, but it's going straight to voicemail now. I'm going to try and contact Eric. Something might be up. She always answers."
"You sure it's not this Eric fellow?"
Sook lets out a dry, humorless laugh. "Eric's a lot of things, Ben. But he wouldn't do something to Fae. The two get on like white on rice. She amuses him too much and I would swear he has a thing for her."
Ben huffs out a breath. "He could be holding her there, Sookie."
"No. He wouldn't. I know it's hard to explain, Ben. The two have this odd sort of thing. Argue all they want. But they respect each other in their own way. I'm going to call him and find out what-"
Sook cut off as the door shut with a breeze. Bill stood in the doorway wearing nice slacks and a black sweater. He looked far better dressed than he had when they were dating. But it was the quick look to the phone.
"What are you doing here?" Sookie demands furiously, nearly forgetting the phone to her ear.
"Come. Now. You're needed."
"I don't listen to you. You've got a lot of nerve just showing up like-"
"Faelyn needs you," Bill growls, gripping the phone and slamming it down. "Now."
"Fae," Sookie breaths, moving to meet him quickly. "Then come on."
He opened the door, glancing out and leading her out by a hand at her upper back. Right out the back door. Soon as they were out of the building Bill swung her up and took off. On the side of the road near the trails was her SUV. The doors on the front were open, alarm dinging for the keys in the ignition and the engine running. The lights were all on, bringing some light to the dark area surrounded by trees.
"What happened?" Sookie whispers, fear trilling in her heart at the lack of people and abandoned car.
A furious roar echoed from in the trees, the direction they were headed. It sounded like nothing she'd heard, inhuman. Things crashed violently, snarls and growls happening in what sounded like a fight.
Bill came to a stop before a clearing. A made clearing with trees felled about the space. Faelyn was in the middle of it, form hunched and skin nearly glowing with how pale she was in the dark.
"Finally," Eric snarls, suddenly at their side. He looked like he'd been fighting, tears in his clothing and roughed up.
Faelyn was heaving in breath, each breath letting out little steam clouds. Those pretty eyes were nearly glowing, amber spiked differently as the blue actually lit up in the dark. The pupils were the large change. They were slit like a feline.
Her hair fluttered about her as did the loose skirt and peasant top she wore. Both looked as roughed up as Eric. The white clothing showed spots of blood. Her own vibrant color showing in a mass across her front, near to the scars from the attack when she was a child. The snarl of her features showed razor sharp teeth that looked to better fit savage carnivores. It looked like those teeth would break flesh without trying.
There were a few downed people in the clearing. They looked to have on armor, guards of some sort. Bill let Sookie down, moving a bit forward to be between her and Faelyn. She heaved in breath, eyes watching the group of three. It wasn't the gaze of her cousin. There was nothing human in those eyes.
