Author's Note: So, I've gotten to a point in this story that I've been sitting on and thinking and thinking. It's what I wanted at that point and what was planned from the beginning of that plot. But...I feel like I don't like the way I played it out. So, I'll probably be late on that update like this one. I was actually iffy on putting this out. But it is one that a great deal of people seem to have been hoping for. I can't say much without spoiling the next few updates at least, but don't loose hope on the Fae and Eric spin. This was and is a story for Eric and Fae. But like most in life, there are twists and turns. Add in Eric and the WTF style of Fae and... wellllllll ends up all over the place. So, enjoy this and let me know what you thought of this one.
I'd also like to thank those who reviewed. I sort of lost my focus on this, and I wont deny that I do have like ten or more stories I write on that aren't even published that are mostly used to help get the flow going. But the reviews remind me why I wrote this to begin with, and I thank you. Thank you, apocryphalpansy, SkittlezxBabex146, Guest and JamesNorthman96. Most especially JamesNorthman96 for the continued support.
It's a long one just for you all.
I was sitting perched on his leg, tucked against his chest as we pulled off the main road and slowly moved to park. I didn't know the place specifically. But I knew it was a Conservation area on the river. Think I heard people talking about using it for a boat dock from time to time. It was rather dark, moon hardly shining through with only the dawn to dusk light over the ramp into the water. The car shut off, both of us still.
There was no mind given to the fact that I was sitting so close and on Eric. He actually felt rather nice. My gaze was looking over the place. Rather pretty. Slowly, my head turned to look at him. He had his brow quirked, amused.
I scoff a laugh, standing as best I could to slip out once he finally swung the door open. The gravel took only a moment to adjust to, stepping around a little pothole with nasty water in it. I picked my way across the lot, moving to stand by the light and on the ramp to look better at the water.
I didn't hear him so much as felt him join me. One hand lifted to rest on the inward dip of my waist, hips cocking as I watched the water. It was peaceful here, wildlife not seeming to note our presence, or ignoring it.
"You said you wanted to talk," he speaks up after the silence only grew.
I blink, letting out a notable breath. I had been spacing out. A small shake of my head is given, heels clicking on the concrete as I shift a bit and move some to help focus.
"Sorry. Been in my thoughts a lot today."
I glance back and up at him, flashing a grin. He looked focused on me, not frowning with more than that gaze.
"So. Lots to happen," I start in an upbeat tone.
"Wont your Ben be looking for you?"
I shrug. "Possibly is. Hoping the fam keeps his busy. They're using him to help too. So, may not be able to break away and search me out. Left the phone at home too."
He was searching me over. "You look healthier, better fed."
I grin, flashing teeth. The sharp canines easily in view. Those were a permanent fixture now. "Oh yes. Very much so. Part of what I'm talking with you about. Lots to go over. So, let's start on that."
I pace toward his car, carefully lowering to rest against his car. These heels were hell in this lot. He kept a small distance between us, focus very set on my every action and motion.
"First off, any news from Godric?"
I looked a bit hopefully up at him. He quirked a grin. "Why? Missing your bed partner?"
"Yes, actually," I honestly admit without shame. A shoulder loosely lifts and falls. "Not the point though. So, he's good? Fine?"
"You expect less?"
There was the smug Eric I knew. I grin up at him. "Nothing less." My eyes flick to the side, tracking the sound of an animal in the woods around us. "So, I've news and I'm putting a deal of trust in you to not go spreading it about."
"Shouldn't you be doing that with your cousins? Or your Ben?"
My eyes set upon him. The smile was gone, just looking up at him. "Eric, don't be an ass. There's far too much going on and I'm prone to over looking things. I love them, but I doubt they could really handle half the things that seem to happen about me."
He says nothing, arching a brow. I grin a little, lopsided as I search his face. "And no. Call it a safety measure. I like Ben a lot, but I feel like some things need said that I can't trust with Sook."
"And what is that?"
"That's at the back of the line. Let me sort some things out first." I pull in a steadying breath, looking to my shoes as I shift to be a bit more comfortable in place. "So, we have a grandpa. Possibly older than you are. That's why you aren't to be at the home. He showed up with some dilemma or other. He's the same thing as Sook, but not a partial like her."
"You mean a fairy?"
"Yeah. And mind reader. But apparently some where in the past a vampire found out about the family. Been obsessed with the family for centuries and made a contract at some point with a foolish family member. The contract is for the vampire to have one of the females of the family that have the 'light'. That's what Gramps calls it when they are Fairy."
"So they are after Sookie."
I wince a bit. "So…I may have found out what exactly I am?"
He was frowning now. My finger rubs my cheek as if to lightly scratch. "Seems I fall in that lot as well. I can't do the light as well as Sook."
"You're Fairy?" That was snapped out.
I shoot him a huffy look. "See, I thought that sounded gay as all hell. I'm already screwy as it gets. But apparently I am enough for it to count. My other side.." I take in a breath, eyes shutting a moment. This was getting frustrating on how to say this all. "My demon side…Apparently I'm pretty much changed. And with that, it's killed off most of my human side. Meaning my emotions are all over the map, thankfully I was sort of like that before. Either way, it kind of 'stains' the Fairy side. But both are supposedly strong genetically. And I'm of the mind that my own power comes from this odd line of crap. Either way, I'm now some Fairy/Demon hybrid."
I motion out at the dark. "And met my birth father. Really doesn't want anything from me. Apparently he's bored and lonely and had a kid just for something to pass the time. Maybe even to have somebody around. And the murders in town are taken care of, sort of by him too."
"Your father was killing them?"
"Ah..No. Remember that demon I mentioned? It was him. An old friend of the sperm donor's. In the area and…" I wince a bit, waving a hand. "Don't really have the time to get into all that. He's not a problem, being taken care of for me. So, two problems cleared up, technically three."
"Three?"
I motion at myself. "Yeah. Changed completely now. Getting a better hang on it. Totally not fine with how I ate that guy's arm. But I've sort of got it handled now, the eating thing."
He moves to lean on the car near me. He's quite a moment, hands slipped in his front pockets as we both look out at the dark woods.
"And the vampire after your family?"
I pull in a deep breath. "I..I sort of offered to just let the vamp take me. See what they want. But they freaked out. It's why Sook and Jason wont let me on my own."
I felt the frown, but refused to look at the look of disapproval. "I know. But it's really an option of her or me. I'd rather it not be her. Sook's…Sook just deserves better."
"Who's to say you don't?"
I grin wryly as I look a bit toward him, not at him. "Eric, I'm a damned bitch. Sook's been struggling for some semblance of normality all her life. She's all nice and crap. I sort of do what I want without care to consequence and I've definitely made a place in Hell for myself, if that is a thing."
He smirked a bit. "Admitting how terrible you are?"
I grin up at him, all but beaming. "Course I am, Eric. I do all the time. If I'm going down, I'm having some fucking fun on the way."
"You're off track."
I blink, head tilting as I try to remember where I was. "Yeah. Sorry. I've not really had anything to eat aside from what ever Ginger made." I wince and make a face. "You all have got to stop glamouring that woman. She's so gone she makes food worse than a druggy."
"Why haven't you eaten?"
I feel like I'm deflating. "I.." I look away, hands sliding over the skirt in a clearly anxious way. My eyes close a long moment as I let out a long breath. "Can you promise not to tell anybody? I just feel like somebody should know, even if I promised not to tell."
"Why?"
I glance to him, at his shirt as I avoided his eyes. "I've been feeding from Ben."
I heard the snap of his fangs, flinching a bit as I felt my own side nearly react to the sound. But my eyes shut tight.
"Calm down, Eric."
"He's a vampire."
My eyes flick open, glowing as I looked up at him. "Yes."
"You've been with a vampire." There was a sort of growl to his tone. I felt like he was insulted.
I blush a bit, hand lifting to my hair. "I didn't know, Eric. He…" My eyes search the ground. "He was in the fucking sunlight with me for days, Eric. He's some odd hybrid."
His jaw was slacked, fangs there with those eyes open wide. "In the sun?"
I helplessly shrug. "I don't know, Eric. I thought he was just like Sook. You know, Fairy mind reader. He told her he was a halfy like her. Remember I mentioned ODing the other day?"
"And came home smelling strongly of this Ben."
I grin a bit at the memory. "Yeah….He told me after I woke up. Day walking vampire. Fairy/vampire hybrid. It does explain why he was so accepting of me being weird."
"He could be using you, Faelyn."
I glance up at him. "You think I haven't thought of that? It's why I'm actually telling you. Just in case."
"Isn't it odd he shows up in the same time frame that your Grandfather did?"
I pause, blinking as I think over that. "Maybe. But he's been with us the whole time. Gramps rather likes him."
I shake my head, hand lifting to push hair from my face as I shift to my feet and take a few steps. "Not the point I want to focus on right now. Some guy named Roman showed up at Sook's the other night. With a little kid vampire named Drew."
"The Authority came to you?" He was tense.
"Eric, I don't think they're all on the same page. That woman wants me for something else. These guys seemed to want an alliance of sorts. Made it a bit clear they don't want me for what she did. Were really focused on how I saw your kind and Thomas' crimes."
"It could be a bigger problem than we thought."
"Eric, according to my sperm donor-" I huff making a face. "Fuck it, I'm just using his name. According to Belial, she's been a thorn in his side for years. He did offer the notion of just eating her. But I think I sort of get more than looks from him. Apparently we both have our mind on our stomach-and I'm totally getting distracted again. Back on track. Found out that she's sort of some fanatic for some vampire religion and the family line. Something about being closer to the right mark this time. And according to him, yall aint got hold on my kind worth shit."
I wince a bit, hand resting at my belly as it grumbles. Eric quirks a brow, smirking in amusement at that rambling speal and just how goofy I was.
"You haven't fed from your Ben. That's what you meant."
I shoot a glower at him, pouting a bit. "Don't give me shit, Eric. I've been getting decidedly mean when hungry."
"And do you let him feed from you?"
I flush, already avoiding his eyes. He frowned then. "So you let him."
"Well. It sort of just happened the first time." And there goes the rambling without filter. "And found out that I heal quick, so that wasn't much of a problem. But it was just like a day or so? Eh, I've lost count of time this last month. Anyway, I didn't actually feed from him until a bit after he'd fed from me. And I'm not really-"
I cut off, finally seeing the pissed look. There was a long moment where I looked like a deer in the head lights as I stared at the shirt before me. Ah. He'd moved to stand over me. I cough a little, trying to breath the tense air and letting my hand flop from my belly.
"Uh. Hi, Eric. Nice shirt you have there."
"I've asked on more than one occasion, Faelyn. Isn't that against what your father taught you?"
I suck in a breath. Then I tilt my head back, way back. "Eric, please step back."
Stern Eric looked down at me, eyes penetrating. He was shy of being flush against me. My breathing was a bit tight, tension in the line of my jaw.
"Back up, Eric," I plead.
"You'd allow this man to feed from you? Do you feed and fuck? Is that what it is, Faelyn?"
My eyes fluttered shut, pulling in a deep breath that almost sounded sexual. But there was no warning on his part as I lost control of my control. Heat burst forth, mouth opening a bit wider as the teeth cut at my tongue and inner cheeks. The nails almost went into my thighs, fingers arching out to help fight from grasping at myself.
"Step back," I whisper, voice changed as well.
He didn't move an inch. My glowing eyes snapped open, locked upon his face. He didn't look the least bothered, looking with a sort of slow reverence to the sharp teeth threatening my lower lip. A large hand lifted.
I flinched away, hand snapping up to cover my mouth and nose.
"Please, Eric," I rasp, stomach seething and burning viciously with hunger. He smelled so good.
The large hand lashed out, partially tangling into the strands of my hair as his palm rests at my cheek. My eyes fluttered, moaning out at the smell of him. His wrist so close to my nose. My head tilted into the cold hand, hands lifted as if to reach out for him.
"Please," I whisper, eyes shut. "Don't do this, Eric."
"Do what?" He knew exactly what he was doing, smug with it as he moved closer still.
My hands wore forced to splay to rest low on his upper body, that or the claws cut. I felt the cool of him just shy of flush to me. My breath stuttered. The light touch on his front firmed, lightly pushing, but he wasn't moving.
"Please, Eric. I can't do this. I'm not good at-"
"So you do sexualize your feeding."
My eyes snapped open, looking up at him. My lips were lightly parted, faintly touching the flesh of his wrist. I was a hair away from ripping into the flesh.
"It's not a choice," I counter. I felt the slight rise of anger. "It's just how I am."
"And when he feeds from you?"
I blanch, pulling from his wrist as if stung. But I'd unconsciously shot my tongue out to taste the flesh before me. That taste was still on my tongue, struggling to not- My breathing was picked up, jerking away from him and arms curled to hug myself to hold control desperately.
"Don't!" I snap in the quiet, panting as I arch forward to fight off the desperate need for more of the taste. Hands went to my hair, fisting for something else to focus on.
"And why do you refuse?"
I was snapping up, eyes focused on him. "Are you offering?"
"If I was? Would you do the same?"
I crossed the space fast, pressing against him with my hands sliding up his chest toward his shoulders. My head was mostly all the way back to be able to see him.
"I won't have sex with you, Eric."
He smirks. "Who said anything of sex?"
My eyes were lidded, flicking over his face, jaw line. I was drowning in his strong scent. Ben held that hint of sunlight. Eric smelled stronger of that darkness and something like cold woods. His hands had seemed to reflexively go to my hips, arching a bit down.
"Nothing sexual, Eric," I try to assert, voice really sounding more like a moan at this point. His fangs were out, hand sliding up my back.
A brow ticked up, smirking more from the left side than a full smirk. "You're agreeing?"
There was a breeze, my feet suddenly off the ground. Then my rear was on cold metal. It was a back of the mind sort of notice that I was suddenly on the back of his car. It lifted me higher. I nearly broke skin, hands sliding up into his hair slowly. He growled, head tucking into the curve of neck and shoulder.
"Not-not there," I rasp, eyes shut as I fought off the urges.
He pulls back, frowning a bit. But he was nearly as lost as I was. His eyes flicked over my teeth from so close. Eyes locked, his hand slid to my arm, cold hand running down it to pull it out of his hair. I was sort of breathless as I watched, transfixed. His large hand engulfed mine, lowering it toward his face. His other hand slid up toward my face.
Eyes remained locked, my hand pulling from his hair to weave fingers with the one before my face. Our heads tilted, me mimicking his actions. Cold breath ghosted over the feverish hot flesh of my wrist. The hairs on his arm stood on ended as my own puffing breath blew over his wrist. Both of us were careful of my claws, fingers stiff to keep the tips clear of any flesh.
My mouth was salivating, mouth opening wider as we sort of stayed in the frozen stance. Wider, and I carefully leaned into the wrist as I pulled it closer. The teeth were shy of puncturing. The last thing I wanted was to hurt him. Even in this haze of hunger and sex I had such acute focus upon not hurting him. His eyes were unflinching, shy of biting my smaller, frailer wrist.
Quick would be less painful. My teeth went in quick, eyes fluttering at the sudden burst of cool, thick liquid flooding my mouth. He let out a sound between growl and moan, before I was arching with a moan stifled by the bleeding wrist at my mouth. My fingers clung a bit tighter at his hand by my face.
There was no question that I wanted him then. But there was the question of if it was just the hunger. His blood filled my mouth, swallowing just as greedily as he did. It wasn't like when I fed Ben. There was the sexual tension just the same. But Ben was more reverent of feeding, as if taking in every last taste he could to savor. Eric fed like I did, as if famished and taking all we could.
He pulled from my wrist with a gasp, growling out around his bloody fangs. My eyes were open, tongue sliding over his flesh at my mouth, watching him. My blood painted his lips, mostly the lower. My wrist was licked clean, wound gone and perfect as before. He was watching me, the sexual hunger in his eyes as he looked to me feeding at a slower pace from him. Slower because I had pulled my teeth from the flesh now and was allowing it to close.
I didn't hear the ring. He was just suddenly holding the phone to his ear.
"Hello."
He didn't try to take the arm back. My eyes fluttered shut, pulling a bit up to trace my tongue along the flesh like a cat, licking it clear slowly. His fangs were still out, lips parted as he didn't look away.
"Yes. She is here."
My attention snapped to him, fingers clenching tight and nails almost biting into his flesh. The clean up was forgotten, even if it was cleared already. My head was ticked a bit to the side, ear toward the phone as if to listen.
"Your cousin," he says to me as he sees my interest. "She's fine."
"Sook or Jason?" I question, swallowing as I force down the demon side. The heat lowered, returning to the new normal.
Eric pulls the phone away, using both hands to press a button.
"Eric?"
Sookie's voice was clear now that he had it on speaker phone.
"Look, if she's there. Tell her to get back."
"Is something wrong?" I speak up, eyes to the phone.
Eric used a hand to slick his hair back to the style he had it in before the car ride. I heard Sook pause on her end.
"Why'd you leave? I thought you were going to be home with Jason and Grampa."
"I was. Took off when Ben did."
"Yeah. Ben woke Jason up when he got back. You left your phone."
"Yeah, I did. Is Ben near you?"
"Nah. He's outside checking for you. So why'd you leave without word?"
"I was coming to see Eric and get some work done."
"You could have brought Ben with you. He looked really upset."
"I bet," I chuckle. "Look, Sook. Ben's on the jealous side and I'd rather not argue with him. I'd have hardly gotten anything done with him there. Besides, I needed to check in with Eric."
"Ah," she sighs, understanding fully. There was sound in the background. I distinctly picked up the voices of Ben and Gramps. "Yeah. She's fine. Just getting some things done. Will be back shortly."
There was a slight shuffling before quiet. More than likely the changing of hands of the phone.
"Fae?"
I stiffen, eyes widening a bit. Please let Sook be calling from the home phone.
"Hey, Ben." I motion to Eric to be silent.
"Where are you? You just took off."
"I had to get some running for work done."
"For Eric?" There was a definite distaste to the way he said the name. Eric smirked smugly at the phone.
"Well, who else do I work for, Ben? I sort of do have a job, even if I'm putting off most of it to keep up with Sook and help with the problem."
"You tell her she owes me beer!" Jason's voice is heard in the background yelling out.
I laugh, brushing hair from my face. "Yeah. Yeah. Tell Jason to get over it."
"Where are you at now? I can come get you. You left the SUV."
"Nah. I got here my own way."
There is a long pause on his end. I shift off the car, hand reaching out to use Eric's front to steady. No doubt he heard my heels hitting gravel.
"Who's phone is this?"
I still, eyes wide as I glance at Eric. My hands wave for his silence, but he wasn't having it. He looked like the cat who ate the canary, hand lifting the phone from reach.
"That would be my phone," he proudly purrs out.
"Damned it!" I snap, reaching out to grasp the phone. But Eric hung up on that note.
I seethe, shoving away from him. "You damned asshole. I told you he was already jealous."
"Let him be."
I whirl, marching off toward the dock. "Where are you going now?"
"Back to Sook's! Where I'll be harassed by all for even being out. Now I'll have a fight to look forward to. So fucking thanks for that, ass hat."
And I shot into the sky.
