Skye's Last Flip
The PAW Patrol were finishing up another mission, cleaning up a mess at Mr. Porter's grocery store caused by some wayward beavers chewing through the legs of his fuit and vegetable stands.
"Alright pups, you head back to the Lookout, while I go find Mr. Porter and tell him everything's fixed," Ryder said, looking at the three pups sitting before him; another job well done.
"You got it, Ryder, Sir," Chase said, smiling at his leader.
"See ya in a little bit!" Skye said, running toward her helicopter.
"See you soon." Ryder said, before turning toward his ATV. Chase then turned and walked to his cruiser, Marshall to his fire truck. The three pups, seatbelts fastened, started their engines, and took off toward the lookout, barking and howling. Their joy was short-lived, however, as Skye's engine started smoking.
"Pups! My chopper's got a problem! I need to land!" She radioed to her teammates.
"Okay. Be careful, Skye." Chase replied, slowing his vehicle, Marshall doing the same. Skye started her descent, but the helicopter had other plans, It started flying sideways, out of control.
"Help! I can't control my copter!" Skye cried out, fear starting to take over.
Chase and Marshall turned their vehicles, following Skye's helicopter; Chase preparing to launch his safety net in case Skye had to jump.
"My chopper won't respond to anything I do!" Skye cried, moving the yoke in every direction. Chase was about to tell Skye to shut off her helicopter for a moment and back on, until he saw where she was headed: straight toward an abandoned warehouse.
"Skye," He radioed over to her, "you need to jump!"
Skye reached for her belt to unhook it, but the button was stuck.
"I can't. The buckle's jammed!" Skye yelped.
Chase and Marshall watched in horror as Skye's helicopter kept moving toward the building.
"Well do something, and fast!" Chase yelled, his heart pounding
Skye tried again and again to release the belt, but her time ran out, and her helicopter plowed into the side of the building, bring the walls and roof down.
"Skye!" Both Marshall and Chase cried out as their friend disappeared into a pile of dust and rubble.
5 Minutes Later...
"I found her! She's over here," Marshall called to Chase, tears welling in his eyes.
Chase raced over the shattered concrete and bent metal to where Marshall was standing. Chase felt his heart stop at what he saw; Skye's motionless body, half buried under the concrete.
"Skye?" He choked, gently nudging her shoulder. Her eyes slowly opened, causing Chase to gasp. "She's alive! Quick, Marshall, get your…" He started to say to Marshall.
"No, Chase. It's too late for me," Skye said weakly.
"But Skye, I..."
"There's nothing you can do for me."
"Oh, Skye," Chase cried, and he put his nose against hers.
"I'm sorry, Chase." Skye said, closing her eyes on last time.
"No." Chase lay down on the rubble, and lay his head on hers, tears rolling down his cheek. "No."
