A/N: Hey guys, I forgot that the people in the Fairy Tail universe are called Mages and not Wizards like my previous chapters said so, many apologies about it but I wouldn't be correcting it after at least 5 chapters of this. Also I am very sorry about the very short chapter so this chapter would compensate for that! Happy reading!
Life being in a guild was... interesting to say the least. Aki found herself debating whether did she made the correct decision or the worst she ever made in her entire 15 years of life. She massaged her temple as another guild brawl broke out yet again whilst nursing her favourite green tea, contented with not socializing with anybody. She went onto some missions by herself even though some guild members came up to her to offer her a place in their own teams they formed in order to complete missions faster and have lots of adventure together.
However, Aki was not interested in making 'friends' as they put it. When the guild learnt of her joining them, many of them tried to interact with her only to be met with nothing but silence. Though she did reply to some questions they asked, they were mostly just facts about her and she was not friendly about it in the slightest. Mirajane sighed at the frail girl who sipped her tea away without a care in the world. The girl was reliable which was something that surprised the mage as she was the first one to witnessed her magic when she was out shopping along with her sibling, Elfman, for groceries.
The girl was on her way to report back into the guild hall when some rowdy mages went to gang up on the frail girl. Apparently according to Aki, they were getting revenge on her after she supposedly 'ruined' their mission of clearing some wolves that had entered a village. Though Aki found it annoying that she had to be the one to clean up the wolves because the rowdy mages were busy drinking away and forgetting about the mission until news of wolves being gone did they remembered their mission.
Aki was already in a bad mood because of the disrespect she had gotten from the person who issued the mission to her and when she came back unscatched, she was given a low pay because he thought that she just gotten some help from random mages. A simple push from the girl resulted a resounding blast from her hands and the rowdy mages were put down immediately once they had gotten a little too near to the young mage's liking.
"What do you mean? They just gotten too close to my personal space that's all you need to know." Was what Aki said when the Strauss siblings confronted her after that incident.
Aki finally finished her drink and got up from her seat and went over to the mission board, looking for decent mission that gives a decent pay for her incoming rent. During the few days the girl stayed with Fairy Tail, there were many requests for her to transfer over to the girl dorm that the guild has but she dismissed it swiftly. She doesn't want to interact with the girls and would like to have an apartment for herself, that and to get away from all the socializing that she had to do. Aki likes being alone and that would stay with her until maybe she leave the guild sometime in the future. After all, she can't stay in one place for long can she?
"Slaying some monsters that had been terrorizing a town for weeks? The pay is not bad... Oh?" Aki paused at one of the posters that caught her attention. It was to save a young boy from a small group of dark mages, it had been on the board for as long as she could remembered when she first joined the guild. She didn't gave it much attention that time because she was in a rush for money and decided to only go for the easy missions. She decided to take it and went over to Mira in order to have it approved. The beauty turned to her after a slight cough from the frail girl and she handed her poster to the woman to read.
Her eyes widened at the poster, "Aki-chan, this is a very difficult mission even for you alone to handle! You need to bring someone along with you at least." Aki crossed her arms and narrowed her eyebrows. "Mira-san, you do know that I hate socializing let alone going with a group. I would like it if you drop that right now."
Mira sighed, "Aki-chan while I admire your strength, you really need someone to tag along with you. If not, I can ask Natsu to join you?" Aki gave a disgusted look and she looked like having an internal battle with herself before scoffing.
"Ugh fine, just tell him to go to the train station!" The girl then promptly left in a fit of rage.
The woman watched Aki leave the guild hall and sighed, coming out of her bar to look for the pink-haired mage. "Natsu-san? Where is he?" A flash of pink appeared in her line of vision, a grinning Natsu with his blue cat partner named Happy. "Mira? You called?"
She chuckled to herself, "Natsu-san, do you know the new girl that joined the guild?" The boy blinked at her once, twice and thrice before scratching the side of his head. "We have a new member? Really?" Mira sweatdropped, 'Oh ya... He wasn't at the guild hall when we introduced Aki-chan to the guild.'
"Aki Kobayashi is the new member of Fairy Tail, you wouldn't miss her. She is the one with a really frail body and seemed to be an aloof person. She is waiting for you at the train station. I called you to help her out with the mission she is on right now." The boy can't keep still. "Alright Happy! We have a new adventure with the new girl!"
"Aye sir! Natsu, we should head off soon." Natsu ran but not before giving a quick glance at Mira, gratitude shining in his eyes as he sped off with Happy.
Aki was waiting at the train station, idly playing with a stray cat that nestled in between her legs. She looked up when she heard someone running in her direction in full speed. "Watch out!"
Aki side-stepped aside and let the boy crashed into her original spot as he got up very quickly, showing that he was unharmed. "You are here great. Let's get on the train, it is arriving soon." The boy grimaced at the idea of taking the train. "Do we really have to take the train? I feel sick..."
"Such high maintenance dragon slayers..." She reached for her backpack that she placed on the floor and rummaged through it before handing him a small vial of clear liquid. The dragon slayer looked at it skeptically and cautiously took it before meeting her back facing towards him. "Prevents motion sickness now let's go." He gave a toothy grin before running to catch up to the girl and entered the train. They slid into one of the train booths and they sat opposite of each other with Natsu looking like he was about to barf.
"Drink the vial, would kick in about 2 minutes."
He nodded, opening the cap and drank everything before keeping the vial.
"What's your magic?" Aki looked out of the window, her right hand looking like she was holding some kind of plate gesture. However, small breezes formed instead. "Wind magic?" Aki shrugged nonchalantly, indirectly telling the slayer to drop the subject immediately. Natsu pouted but dropped it anyway as he played with Happy since he couldn't stand being bored and keeping quiet throughout the whole journey. The effects of the vial was kicking in and he got to say, he was impressed with the girl of making such a vial. That is, if she was even interested in alchemy.
The rest of the journey was actually surprisingly quiet and peaceful, nothing like what Aki had expected from the energetic dragon slayer. She was glad that she made those vials so that she wouldn't need to hear his constant groans from his stupid weakness of motion sickness. Aki criticized herself of becoming soft. No, she just can't form any kind of bonds with anyone. She traveled way too often to even make some form of friends along the way, she just comes and goes as she pleases.
However, she was instead stuck with this eccentric guild and wondered why did she accepted the offer to join the guild in the first place? She rummaged through her backpack and took out her notebook. In this notebook, many things were written such as some of the 'adventures' she went on. Or first impressions of various people she met when travelling. Aki took out a pencil from the small pocket of her backpack and begun writing down things in her notebook. The dragon slayer had fallen asleep as well as his cat partner so she was safe from him trying to peek into her book.
'First impression of the dragon slayer? He's an idiot. His cat partner also doesn't make an exception, they are both idiots. His magic was interesting to say the least, if those dragon scales scarf does not scream 'dragon' then I might need to invest some time in sensing magic affinities of people. How does he even have pink hair? It doesn't look dyed. I want to know the secrets behind that kind of hair colour. He is also very strong, I got a feel of it when I tried to discreetly sense his magic. Seems to be a hot-headed person and would charge into battles. Gotta take note of that or else I, well in this case we, would fail this mission terribly.'
Feeling that she had written enough, she kept her stuff and stared out of the window. It was a full day travel to the village and they would start their search from there. Satisfied with her mental plan, she folded her arms on the table and leaned onto them to rest. Knowing the energetic boy, she would need all the rest she needed for the eventful day to come.
