Chapter Ten

The route to the village that Rin had wanted to go to, was a quick and easy one. Taking no more then one full day, from sundown that day they left, to close to sundown the next day, they where already walking through the small archway that indicated the beginning of that village. It was a medium sized fishing village, bordered along the sea, it smelt of salt water and fresh fish. Even though sundown was approaching, people where still milling about, selling and buy food, fish and other wares. Kagome smiled as she stopped to look at some of the stalls, for it was rare that they ever got a chance to walk to any of the sea ports when she was with her other group. Though a pain of worry and sadness struck her heart for leaving her group behind, she knew that she needed to do this. That she needed to explore more and find her self. With her new scenes and new strength, and just her new being her whole being internally, she knew this was the right choice.

It was what she told Inuyasha last night when she had happened across him. When had showed himself to her camp that night, nearly scaring the hell outta her.

"Inuyasha." Kagome nearly breathed the name, as she stared at the golden eyes before her, taking in his sliver hair, and red clothing, she also took in his musky yet earthy scent. Her heart had picked up n her chest in a wild beat. She had to admit she did miss this Baka of a hanyōu before her. That they had gotten really close the past few months till their last fight, that she swore they would finally go somewhere till he goofed up again. That a part of her really did wish she was still at his side, but there was a stronger force in her mind. The one that was now a hanyōu as well, one that harbored anger like she never had before, and that instant moment of missing him was suddenly filled with instant anger. Her eyes narrowed on him as she crossed her arms and took a steep back. "You should leave." She stated, close to turning and walking away, but the look in his eyes, the look of longing and sorrow had her stop. the anger stayed, but it seemed dimmer at the moment.

"Kagome.." he nearly breathed her name, taking in her scent, much like she had taken in his. "Come back with me. Everyone misses you." He stated. One thing she really wanted to here was him saying that he missed her too but he said nothing about it, only stared at her, about to grab for her arm when she swung it away. "No Inuyasha. I want to stay here." She stood her ground, stomping one foot on it, as if to prove her point.

"But we need you Kagome. We need to find the jewel shards.' He commented about to grab for her arm again, but she swatted his hand away. "Why! Huh? Just so you can have what YOU want, for you to become a full demon?!" She nearly yelled out then, anger shaking her form, that she swore she started seeing red, she shook her head and tried to calm her self, she turned her back to him, hoping it would help. "look.. Inuyasha. I'm tired of doing what ever it is that you want. You wanting to go now to look for the Jewel shards, never giving me a moment to just sit back and rest. To have more then a few hours to visit my family, for just a few days to do my school work. But you are always rushing me back. I never have a break.. I want to do things my way for a bit. I need to do this, to find the new me, that YOU have made me into." she said all in a rush of air, taking in a deep breath, she turned and faced him again.

"I do give you breaks. I do let you do those things. Kagome.. Come back. The group needs you." He tried convincing her, grabbing both of her arms in his hands. "Com'on Kagome, we are a team."

Kagome shook her head, tears threatening to spill in her anger. "No, Inuyasha! No!" She yelled out, trying to get free of his grasp. "You never let me do those things before, not with out a fight, not with out rushing me back to get YOUR jewel shards. The group doesn't need me. Only you need me, and only to see those damn jewel shard for you." Her voice cracked a little. "I'm not doing it any more.. At least for now. I need to go off and do my own thing!" She tried getting out of his grip, but froze when he seemed to narrow his eyes on something behind her, and sniffed the air.

"So it is true." His eyes narrowed, his grip tightened on her arm, to a point it almost hurt, till he dug his nails into her skin.

"ow. Inuyasha let go!" Kagome called out, trying to pry his hand off her arms.

"No! I will not let you leave.. with HIM!" inuyasha growled out, nearly throwing her behind him, but kept a grip on one arm, about to reach his sword with the other. It was during that movement that she caught the scent, the familiar scent she had gotten to slightly know the past two days, as well as the sight of the white clothing in the dark of the night. "INUAYASHA! Let go of me right now!" Kagome warned, her eyes starting to see red again.

"Let her go." Sesshomaru stated, staring at Inuyasha with death in his eyes. Kagome snapped outta her rage, just long enough to feel fear, fear of Sesshomaru hurting Inuyasha. "INUYASHA! SIT!" She yelled out, glad that the grip on her arm broke as the glow are his neck brought him toward the ground. She steeped over him and towards Sesshomaru, not looking to the other demon, glad for his help, but sad that it seemed he would hate her more, she looked to Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, leave me alone, from now on. I will come to you when I feel it is time."

"Why.." She heard him mumble into the ground, as he pulled him self up, anger covered his face like she had never seen before, nor had she never seen such hurt in his eyes, that she felt in her heart, knowing she had caused it. "WHY MUST IT BE HIM!" He called out, about to grab his sword, when Kagome turned to face him, her eyes must have been red, or something different about her, for he froze in his tracks. "BECAUSE! He hasn't broke my heart, because he had taken me when I was hurt. Because he has not given me a reason to hate him!" She yelled out only shouting the first things that shoot across her mind, though she wasn't sure why she said those words, they must have had an impact on Inuyasha, cause the hurt turned to full hatred.

"Fine! See if we want you back, when he throws you away to die!" Inuysha yelled back, turned and left with out another word. It took a few moments for Kagome to calm, when she did, she was all alone, not even a trace of Sesshomaru was near by, that when she was sure she was calm enough, she returned back to the camp, wide awake and knew that she could not sleep. So she focused on watching over the sleeping Rin instead.

Snapping out of her thoughts, she turned to see Sesshomaru and Rin staring her way. He turned the moment she brought her self back to the world, and RIn was running to her side. "Kagome, hurry! I wanna show you where I buy the Kimonos." Basking the girls positive energy, she let the worries of last night get lost in this happiness, and let the girl lead her towards the shop.

He had no idea what had gotten into Kagome, but something was off. The moment he made a wish that night, was the last night he thought everything was okay. The next day. kagome appeared as something entirely not human and different, that is surprised him and seemed to light something different deep with inside him. If he thought Kagome was beautiful before, something in him now made him believe that was more beautiful then ever. The way her hair fell about her shoulders, the way she walked and held herself. The power that seemed to give her more confidence. Confidence that made her lash out at him with new found strength that he so confused, and lost, and surprised. He didn't know how to handle it, and how he handled it was the worst way he probably could have.

He knew him and Kagome had gotten closer over the past few months, he was starting to greatly care for her, the first thing he always wanted to see on her face a was smile each day, and always, ALWAYS made sure every place they went was extra safe, taking double patrols every night the made camp, and even sitting near her side as she slept. He never walked far from her, and he found that he like her being near him to a point, he could not explain. Not being one who knew a lot of love from others, other then his mother, he did not understand the feelings he was going through, they confused him and confusing him made him angry, anger that he lashed out on Kagome way to often and regretted it each time.

After the wish, the confusion has lead him to anger he should have not unleashed on her, for she was going through a similar confusing thing. Emotions that where probably new to her, new scences, and smells and feelings, that he knew he had goofed up bad when she ran that day. Not long after she had fled. He had followed her, but lost her trail rather quickly. Only to find it hours later in small clearing, with the scent of demon demons, their bodies scattered every where, as well as Kagome's blood. He also found lingering scents of Rin and Jaken as well of that of Sesshomaru's What he was surprised with that, though is that Kagome was no longer near by, her scent wafted out by that of his brother. Making him wonder is Sesshomaru had killed of Kagome.

With fear and anger, he searched the area for the next two days, only to lose the trail a day before, but kept searching wanting to find her. He had not returned to Miroku or Sango since the moment he left, afraid of losing hold Kagome's very faint trail, till he did lose it. He was circling around, heading back towards Miroku and Sango, when he caught a scent of Naraku. Not sure why, he followed it. But he had also lost that scent as well. About to head back once more, as the sun was setting, he caught scent of Kagome near by. He had to be sure it was her, and that she was indeed safe. So he followed it, and found the course, Kagome was sitting near the fire, Rin and Jaken asleep near by. 'She must have ran across them, made sure the girl was safe' He thought Innocently, knowing Kagome favored the small girl, and always made sure she was safe when ever they crossed paths and the girl was somehow "dumped" into their care.

When Kagome had moved, having catch sound or scent of him near by, he froze and waited, waited till she was bit away from the camp, before making him self known. He was so happy to see her that she was at a lost for words, till she spoke first and fear and hurt filled him. Was he no longer wanted? She seemed to have made that clear, as the rest of the events unfolded. To him trying to get her to come back , to her going into a rant, and back and forth, till he caught scent of his brother before the demon appeared before him. He could not believe that his brother was there, taking suspension out of the air, he put two and two together. He still could not believe it now, that Kagome had chosen to travel with his brother over him. The reasons she gave where good ones, ones that hurt him to his heart, that he turn and left. Now he was still ranting and cursed himself out, knowing he should have taken Kagome and ran.

"He will kill her, and if he does. I will kill him." Inuyasha growled out as he walked, getting closer to the forest of Inuyasha. "But.. How could she travel with him." he wondered angrily aloud. "For crap sake! He tried killing you in the past!" He yelled out into the wind in frustration. He cursed and yelled the while way he walked, till he reached Keade's village and kept on waling.

Miroku who had heard his voice through out the village, had ran out of the hut him, Sango and Shippo where in, to great the demon, but paused when they saw the anger on his face, and the fact he ignored them and kept walking right by cursing.

"Wait, Inuyasha!" Miroku called out, causing the half demon to pause.

"What?!" Inuyasha snapped out, causing the trio to freeze. they never seen Inuyasha so angry before.

"Where... Did you find Lady Kagome?" He asked, watching his words, the anger that paused through Inuaysha eyes tinting them red, had him back up and stand before Sango.

"Is she okay?" Sango asked in worry, Shippo nodding with a frown on her shoulder.

"The wench is fine." He growled out, about to run and walk away.

"Wait! Where is she then?" Sango called out.

"With My god Damn devil half brother." he paused. "Sesshomaru! I will kill you!" he yelled out to himself as he continued on walking, leaving the trio confused and watching him from their spot.

"As long as she is okay, right?" Sango asked with worry, MiroKu nodded. "She must have good reasons to travel with Sesshomaru." He commented, Shippo frowned. :If I saw Inuyasha like that too. i would be traveling with him too." Shippo shook in fear, and Sango patted his head. "How about we get rest, and go out at first light to find her. Hear her version of the story?" Miroku suggested, the other two nodded as they all walked back into the hut they had come from to rest for the night, all wondering and worrying about the now two Hanyou and what had happened.

Also! Seeing as everyone is thinking this could be a possible, SesshxKag parring, or even a SeexKagXInu Love triangle. i want to know your thoughts on those two ideas. Or if I should Keep it InuxKag with Sesshomaru being ike a steeping stone that helps them understand what they really feel for each other. Like Kagome getting a change of pace, and keeping her on her toes with Rin to get her brain thinking better to adapt to her new self, and that Inuyasha seeing Kagome with Sesshomaru would trigger even deeper emotions he has to try and figure out. (though I am a big KagXinu parring person, I like to add in some drama, and fun along the way, to give the characters a chance to review their thoughts on things, and have a chance to dig deeper down to find those hidden feelings and show them)
