Chapter Eleven

"Wow." Was the only thing Kagome had time to think about, that whole night as Rin dragged her from one store to another. The stores staying open way later then most of the others would any other day. It was as if the presences of Sesshomaru in the village, had all the sellers in wonderful moods. As Rin ran kagome from one shop to another, that by the time they had settled down that night. Kagome and Rin both had new Kimonos, and fighting Kimonos as well, the outfit was similar to Keade's miko outfit, but colored different, colors that seemed to match more to Sesshomaru's castle then anything. Kagome was still not sure how she had come across these articles of clothing, but was very grateful for them, even though she denied it again and again, when Rin asked her what she wanted, afraid she would have to pay the Lord back, but he seemed unfazed by it, or Rin, just following along, his attention else where.

That night they where able to settle into an INN like place. having a nice room to their selves, leaving Kagome and Rin to sleep on a comfy Futon. Jaken complained this part, and ended up sleeping outside the door, to leave the girls to their own room. Sesshomaru slept else where, A place Kagome was not sure of, seeing as he left them an hour before they had gotten their room, and Rin assured her that he would return in the morning when they would have to leave again.

Two day later, Kagome's travels seem to take her farther and farther away from the western lands she had found her self in two days before, and closer to the village she thought she could call home, to some degree. The village that Keade lived in, that laid hidden within the forest of Inuyasha, that held the old Bone Eater's well, that was her key, and ride to her normal time five hundred years into the future. She longed to go home, as she always did when she knew the well was deeming closer. As if she could feel its pull and power, so far away, but she knew, deep down, she could not return. For her new form would cause problems within her time frame, and returning home also meant running into Inuyasha.

Kagome had not though about him for almost three days, but the moment she did, a small stab of pain ached in her chest. She had to admit she missed the damn Baka, but she still not regret her decision. Looking to Rin, singing cheerfully along her side, holding on hand in her own, the other on the reins of Ah -un, While Jaken rode atop, looking around, as if on guard from any threat, made Kagome smile. She was enjoying this, though it has only been a few days, she knew this is something she could used to.

At that thought, she looked forward and to the back of the silver haired male she was following, though he kept quiet and to himself the whole way. She begun to learn that he was not as cold hearted as she thought him to be, though that wasn't much to begin with. The moment she found out he was traveling with a young human girl, she knew he had to have some kind of decent side, and the past few days proved that. Not only did he save her, feed her, house her and protect her. He had bought her a knew kimono or two, sorta stood up to Inuyasha for her, and even made sure that nothing came to harm her. Though she honestly could be thinking of this more then she should, for all she knew, he could only be doing this in favor to Rin, who always seemed to get anything she wanted from the cold demon, always making Kagome wonder, why. Though that thought never lasted very long, she was still happy either way, happier then she had been in the past few days, and even what she felt like, had been a few months since she felt this... peaceful.

it was during this peaceful moment that something twinged inside her mind, a gentle tug, a spark of light going off in her mind, making her stop, causing Rin to stop and glance at her. "What is it Lady Kagome?" Rin asked in slight fear, wondering if something was wrong

Kagome knew this feeling to well and shook her head. "I sense a jewel shard." She stated, looking up when feeling eyes on her, noting that the Demon Lord had stopped walking, and turned his attention to her.

"Naraku?" he asked lightly, Kagome shook her head.

"No.. It doesn't feel as dark, though it is tainted." She paused and looked around. "It's that way!" She pointed out the direction and started walking towards it on instinct, on habit and stopped frowning.

"What now?!" Jaken asked impatiently. Kagome sighed.

"I don't know if I should go looking for it... I mean... I'm not with them any more.. Should I keep looking for them?" Kagome asked aloud, more to herself, though she couldn't help but look to those around her.

"We should go!" Rin nearly cheered.

"We can not let Naraku get it. It will only make him stronger, you stupid Onna. " Jaken frowned from his seat upon Ah - Un. "Your the only one who can sense them, go get it. Let's not waste any more of my Lords time." He grumped and Kagome gave him a wide eyed look, that had him begun to blink confused. "What is it?"

"you.. Have a really good point. Jaken. " Kagome smiled, with new refined confidence. "Let's go with that idea." Kagome stated, and turned to follow the lead of the jewel shard she sensed. Behind her Jaken gleamed. "About time someone listened to my ideas." He smiled as wide as he could with his beak like mouth as Rin and the rest followed after Kagome, even Sesshomaru seemed to follow, though why was unknown.

It didn't take long for them to find the source of the jewel shard, and the simple worm like demon that had it with in him. Though the worm was oddly rather large, and seemed to be digging equally as large tunnels in the ground and digging through the village it was going through, gave Kagome the chills up her spine, she told Sesshomaru where the jewel was located, and off he went.

In a matter of moment the Worm laid in pieces, after finding out that chopping it in half, it still moved, and in half, from mouth to the end where it was split from, had finally killed the thing.

Walking up to the head, Kagome found the shard, and pulled it, with a disgusted look upon her face, from it's skin and the jewel shone brightly and pure in her grasp.

"So pretty." Rin commented from behind her. Smiling Kagome stuck it with the others around her neck and wiped her hands on her Kimono. "How about we go clean up for the night? I know a good post near by." kagome smiled, Rin nodded and Kagome lead the way, surprised again that Sesshomaru followed for quiet a while, before they reached a bend in a river that ran near by, and decided to make a camp for lunch, and he left again to be on his own.

Jaken had went to work on catching Fish while Kagome taught Rin how to clean Kimono and other clothes on the rocks in the river, and added in the scented soap she had brought along. After being freshly washed up, their extra clothes hanging to dry on a tree branch in the warm sun, they sat around a sall fire and cooked the fish. Kagome was in the middle of one of her stories, when she heard a familiar voice near by, followed by another, and another. She jumped from her spot, and darted into the trees and a few feet to the other path, where she came out in front of three figures she had been dying to see for a few days.

"Shippo, Sango, Miroku!"
