I know. Hey! I am back after like 10 years. I wanted to come back and finish some stuff. I didn't update because I lost inspiration and with it, my love for writing. But recently, I have been wanting to write again and I just love the way, as an author, to create worlds and new ideas and fun stories for everyone read. So..This is the last chapter that should've been updated waaaaaay prior heh.
Hope you like it

The last day.
This was it. Madoka couldn't help but let out a breath of relief. To say the past few days was a nightmare was an understatement. It was stressful, and the poor girl couldn't catch a break. Her other companions were sitting on the couch watching some show on Netflix about mirrors? Tired faces were decorating their usually peaceful expressions. All Madoka could do was be grateful that the adventure was going to come to an end. Her train of thought was set off the rails when two piercing screams were heard.
Yuu, Hikaru and Tsubasa did not budge as they started the next episode.
Oh yeah. How could Madoka forget about the people that caused her so many breakdowns.
Ryuuga and Ryuto had begun acting like children. Literally. Last night, Tsubasa was irritated to the point where he could have murdered someone. To prevent any of that happening, Madoka was able to convince the two troublemakers to walk into a room. And by convince, threw a bag of their favorite cadies and closed the door. And then she locked it, keeping them in the room. Away from the others.
Now they were screaming. Madoka could not fathom how such a shrill could come out of those mouths. She groaned and walked towards the room. She raised her hand and slammed it on the door.
"QUIET!", she shouted to match their screams.
Two high-pitched screams were heard in retaliation. "LET US OUT!"
"It's almost over soon! Don't worry!" she cried over them.
She was responded with silence.
Huh, it worked.
Madoka gave herself a pat on the back and walked towards the sofa where the other three were dozing off. She smiled softly to herself when she saw Yuu moved his position to sit on Tsubasa's lap; the poor child was slowly letting sleep take hold of him. Tsubasa was barely awake, his eyes half lidded as they tried to focus on the show in front of them. Hikaru was already asleep, curled up on the edge, her hair a little unkempt.
Madoka decided to nudge Tsubasa awake.
"Hey, if you want, you guys should go home. I'll be here to take care of these boys", she offered.
Tsubasa turned to meet her eyes and he gave her a small smile. "No, it's okay. We decided to get through this together."
Madoka reached and grasped his shoulder in a gesture of appreciation. "Thank you."
The young girl decided to rest herself. No event can ever top this experience. Even the last time was a lot to handle.
Madoka let herself fall onto her bed. Feeling the softness of the covers relaxes her. Finally, she felt a moment of peace. But for some reason, she feels like something is missing. Her cerulean eyes stared up at the ceiling. Everything will go back to normal and it will be fine. It will be all over soon. She wraps the blanket over herself before she lets the warmth lull her to sleep.
A few hours later
"Madoka! Wake up!"
Madoka wakes up instantly as she sits up suddenly, clashing heads with Yuu. The two rubbed their respected heads in pain.
"Yuu, what's the matter?", Madoka questioned the small boy, a yawn escaping her. Yuu only gave her a worried glance.
"Ryuuga and Ryuto have been quiet for a long time…and we don't know if they're still in the room", his voice gave off a tone of panic. It would make sense. The last time Ryuuga was left alone, he jumped off a building.
Madoka reluctantly jumped out of her bed and walked towards the room where the two boys were residing in, Yuu trailing behind her.
Once she was face to face with the door, she knocked.
"Uh..guys? You okay?", she called out. No answer.
She knocked again and she could hear Yuu panicking. Turning to give the young boy an assuring smile lessened his worry. Madoka felt herself panic when she knocked again, a little harder and received no response.
Grabbing the key from her pocket, she opened the door to find the both Ryuuga and Ryuto asleep. The older sibling was sprawled on the floor with the younger brother at a corner, his knees tucked in. Madoka was unaware when Yuu left when he returned with blankets. He handed her one and she followed his message.
Yuu draped the blanket over Ryuto while Madoka did the same to Ryuuga.
Yuu laughed softly. "It's funny to see them so peaceful like this."
Madoka could only chuckle in response. "Yeah, you're right."
"Alright well, I'm gonna go watch a movie. Tsubasa and Hikaru fell asleep and I finally can watch what I want. Want to join?", Yuu stepped right outside the door. Madoka gave him a thumbs up.
"Sounds good, let me just give these guys some pillows and I'll be there in a bit."
Yuu nodded and made his way to the living room.
Madoka opened the small closet in the room and took out two fluffy pillows. She softly raised Ryuto's head and placed the pillow under his head. Grabbing the other pillow, she repeated the same motion with Ryuuga. Once his head was set, she could not help but stare. Seeing him so calm made it appear like he was back to normal; an individual with set aspirations and determination.
Just as she was about to leave the room, she felt her heart stop when a hand grabbed her ankle. Looking down, azure met gold.
"…please don't go", his voice quivered. Just like a child was her only thought as she kneeled and removed his hand from her ankle. She sits down next to him and Ryuuga reaches for hand, holding it like life depended on it.
Silence fell between the two. "I'm sorry" broke the silence.
"I'm sorry…I made life hard for you…again."
Madoka felt herself reach for his head and she laid her hand there, letting her fingers play with his messy locks.
"Our mom used to lock us away…whenever this happened. It scared us. Me. Mostly", he continued. Madoka felt a pang of guilt.
"You didn't know so we can't blame you", he said, as if reading her mind.
Sniffles began to fill the room.
"I always forget when I wake up. I never remember." The grip on her hand was firm. Madoka has never seen this stoic and serious person so vulnerable.
She didn't know what to do. How do you provide comfort?
"It'll be okay..don't worry", she reassured. "How about we come up with a word? Like when you wake up tomorrow, I'll tell you this word and you'll remember?"
"Lampshade." Madoka laughed softly. "That sounds good."
Ryuuga felt solace at the sight of her smile. He moved and wrapped his arms around her. Her arms found their way around him as well. The hug felt intimate and it almost seemed like a farewell. By tomorrow, Ryuuga and Ryuto would be back to their regular selves.
The next day
Madoka sat at the dining table accompanied by her companions. They were eating in silence when they were interrupted by an angry Ryuuga who walked into the kitchen with Ryuto apologizing profusely behind him.
Yuu and Tsubasa shrugged as they continued their breakfast. Hikaru smiled and let out a small laugh. "It looks like they're back to normal?"
Madoka smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I'm going to check on them", she rose from her seat when she heard glass shatter.
Entering the kitchen, she saw Ryuuga sulking over the broken glass. Ryuto did not try to meet her eyes when she walked in.
"Guys, you alright?", she asked, nervous.
Ryuto cleared his throat. "Yes, we are fine. Ryuuga was just being an overdramatic queen." Ryuuga whipped his head towards his brother. "As if. Tell that damn hag she could go rot for all I care."
"Our mother wants to speak with Ryuuga. But he would have to come back home.", Ryuto explained, seeing Madoka a bit confused.
Ryuuga scoffed. "I'm staying here. Go back home and tell her no." That seemed like the end of the conversation because Ryuuga dashed out of the Bey-Pit.
"I'm sorry for him. He…has been through stuff", Ryuto rubbed his head, awkwardly. "Also, I'm sorry for coming on a late notice and causing you so much trouble. This condition is irritating", he bowed at Madoka.
"Wait, you know?", she was surprised to hear this. Ryuto sighed and nodded. "Yeah. I think my mom is a bit reckless, she knew we were going to have an episode. Sorry about that."
"Does Ryuuga know about this condition?"
"Not really. He's a bit of a special case. But he really doesn't remember anything that happens." Ryuto explained to her. "And now he's gone again. Our mom just wants to fix some issues that strained our relationship. Ryuuga and I aren't as close as we used to be. It's probably why I liked the thought of seeing him again when he was these episodes. I feel like I have my brother back."
"I'll go find him. He's a little hot headed but don't worry", Madoka reassured him as she grabbed her jacket and walked out the building, dismissing the stares from her friends and Ryuto. The cold breeze nipped at her nose as she walked to the park. Ryuuga always seemed to sulk go there whenever he needed to cool down. Spotting white hair, she runs over to his side.
He was sitting on the bench, his glare never leaving the crunched leaves at his feet. Madoka sits beside him. She does not speak.
"I got out of hand. And I accidently broke one of your cups" was all he said as he closed his eyes, his head falling onto his hands.
Madoka patted his back. "That's fine. Don't beat yourself up about it."
If he really can't remember, I don't lose anything in trying right?
"Lampshade."
She felt Ryuuga tense and he slowly turned to her. His golden irises almost seemed to blink in recognition. A rare smile breaks out on his face.
"That's..pretty random." Madoka felt slightly disappointed but she laid her hand on top of his. Then his fingers clasped around hers.
"Thanks." A small blush is barely visible on his cheeks as he turns away, not letting go of her hand. Madoka flushes and only gives him a reassuring squeeze.
After their moment, the two decide to go back to the Bey-Pit. Ryuuga decides that he'll go visit his mom but out of his own accord which earns a laugh from the girl next to him. The two casually pass a news station showing the pass hallmarks of the week. It's one that catches his attention and his jaw drops.
There were images of him and Ryuto singing horribly, mentions of the duo running out of Sam's Club, jumping off a building with images of Madoka screaming, ripping up some collectibles, kidnapping, rehabilitation of a thief and the closing of a local spa.
"What the?! IS THAT ME?!", Ryuuga screamed at the screen. Madoka laughed nervously.
"What the hell did I do this past week?!"
And that is the end for this adventure! I hoped y'all like it. Again, I am sorry I did not update sooner. I will try to finish whatever I have pending :D
