Heyo guys, I'm back! Thanks for the awesome review response...you guys rock! And for anyone waiting for an update of Edhil O Gurth, I just updated it now!

Disclaimer: Not mine...*sobs*

"Your Death."

Legolas started at the words, his head snapping up. His eyes locked on the glint of silver within the hand of his attacker- as it flew towards him. He threw his arm up in an attempt to block the attack and felt a sharp pain as the small needle was driven into his skin. He hissed in pain and yanked his arm back, calling for Celegon as he did. The older elf flew in just as the Elf launched himself over the desk with a cry, driven by hatred and madness. Legolas side stepped the Elf, reaching out and grabbing the wrist still wrapped around the needle. As he wrestled the attempted assassin to the ground, two guards rushed in, assisting their Prince in pinning the struggling Elf to the ground.

"Stay still, or you shall find your life cut short." Celegon growled, fury in his eyes. The Elf snorted, but chose to obey. Binding his wrists, they pulled him to his feet.

"What is your name?" Celegon demanded. The Elf did not respond, but kept his gaze on the ground.

"I said-" Before Celegon could finish, a gasp from Legolas caught his attention. The Prince was now leaning on the desk, his wrist held against his chest. What concerned Celegon the most, was the sudden greyish tone to Legolas' face.

"My Prince! Are you alright?" He asked, striding the short distance between them to reach him. Behind him, The dark haired Elf looked up, a look of shock on his face.

"Prince?" He gasped. " Had he, in his quest for hate, truly attacked the wrong Royal? They looked similar, but were they THAT similar? He thought to himself.

Celegon did not spare him a look. "Yes, the Prince. This attack of yours will not be treated lightly- You will be tried for treason. Take him away- and find him a cell worthy of such a despicable crime." Without another word, the guards stepped forward- half dragging, half pushing their now-prisoner out of the room. As they left, Celegon returned his attention to Legolas. He gently took the Prince's wrist, examining it closely.

Some of the needle had seemingly snapped of during the attack, and was currently embedded in his skin. Around the wound, a deep red bruise was beginning

"Tell me exactly how you feel." He ordered. Legolas took a deep breath, trying to clear the fuzz beginning to form in his vision.

"Dizzy... My vision is blurred. The wound feels as if it is on fire." He answered honestly. Celegon nodded slowly.

"Let's go- We must get you to a Healer immediately" He said to the Prince. helping him to stand straight.

"Celegon?"

"Yes Legolas?"

"Perhaps it would be wise to question the Assassin about what the needle was dipped in. Just a thought."

And with those words, Legolas' world went black and he collapsed to the floor.

Thranduil glanced around the battlefield, taking in the surrounding carnage. The battle had been long and intense- yet, somehow, the group had emerged relatively unharmed. Most of the warriors had only a few cuts and bruises- however, one of the Archers had taken a scimitar to the stomach. Somehow, he was still alive and two of the Patrol had taken him back to the camp and were currently working on bandaging his wounds.

As Thranduil rubbed his eyes, Beridhren approached him- carefully sidestepping the bodies of their enemies. The Patrol Leader looked dishevelled, but still managed a smile.

"Thranduil? I must take a look at your wound, and ensure it is not poisoned." He explained. Thranduil nodded tiredly and followed Beridhren to where the warriors were gathered and once more setting up the camp. Carefully Thranduil removed his injured arm from his tunic, allowing Beridhren to take a closer look.

"You will be glad to know that it's not too deep- you were lucky. Unfortunately, it is poisoned… just as I thought." Beridhren said cheerfully as he pulled all the herbs he would need from his bag.

"Why do you sound cheerful?" Thranduil asked suspiciously. Beridhren grinned even more.

"I just find it interesting that every time that our patrol comes here, Legolas, always finds a way to attract trouble. After this, I can see it must be a family trait." He explained as he finished making a paste.

"This will sting a bit, but it will clean the poison out." He warned as he gently applied the green paste.

Thranduil winced at the wound began to sting. He opened his mouth to question Beridhren on the trouble Legolas seemed to attract, when a shout filled the air.

"Elrohir! Estel! I have found them!" All of a sudden, an Elf dressed in the colours of Imladris emerged from the trees on the opposite side of the camp. As soon as Beridhren saw him, he grinned.

"What brings you into our home lands, Elladan?" he called out to the elf.

"We thought it was high time we joined Legolas- and your good self- on Patrol once more." he said cheerfully as another Elf, identical to the first, and a human joined them. Thranduil smiled.

"You are more than welcome to join us- but I am afraid you will find Legolas has not joined us on this particular trip." Beridhren said cheerfully. He turned his attention back to Thranduil, securing the bandage around his arm. He winked at the King and grinned wickedly, as the three brothers headed towards them. With an equally wicked grin, Thranduil kept his head down, so the approaching trio could not see his face.

"Is that a jest- or have you hit your head again, Beridhren?" Estel asked with a frown. "We can clearly see Legolas beside you."

"I would think that you would know the difference between Legolas and his father." Thranduil called out, turning to face them. Immediately, the three newcomers stopped in their tracks, their eyebrows raised. In return, Thranduil arched his eyebrow, waiting for a response. A few seconds past before, with a sudden snort, Elrohir began to laugh. Elladan rolled his eyes, and Estel shook his head.

"Lord Thranduil- it is good to see you." Elladan smiled, "Please excuse Elrohir. We are glad to join you!"

"It is a shame that our journey shall be so short lived. We Return home in the morning." Beridhren told them. "We cannot risk another encounter- and we will need to inform the families of the Patrol that was Lost of their passing." The three brothers nodded, suddenly serious.

"What about their bodies?" Thranduil suddenly asked. Beridhren and the twins shared a look. Estel shifted on the spot, suddenly uncomfortable.

"There will be no bodies left to return home, Lord Thranduil." Elladan told him. "it saddens me to say that if the Orcs have not... feasted, the Spiders would have."

An overwhelming sickness filled the King at the very thought. The thought suddenly hit him'

If Legolas one day, Valar forbid, dies out here- will his remains meet the same fate?

He shuddered at the very thought.

I think I shall have to discuss this with him upon my return.
