Memory 1.C.

Sonya

The sky was still monochrome and only seemingly getting worse. The area they were now in was stone steps on a pathway leading down the small mountain. The stones were cracked, making noise under their boots. Leon had glanced at Sonya, sneaking peaks at her face. It was neutral, no sign of anything really. He was taking in her features again, eyes landing back onto her hair. It was really tightly curled and course, oh how he wanted to touch it. The female felt eyes staring and she looked back at him and sucked her teeth, "What are you staring at?" she spat, irritated. Leon's eyes widened slightly, coming up with a quick excuse he went to reply.

"I-" A moment later, a giant bolder was pushed from the top of the mountain by the Ganado to crush the duo. Leon grabbed Sonya's hand and started to run with her, "Move a bit faster!" and Sonya did her best to keep up with him. She hated to run truthfully, but she kept up, their lives depending on the fact that she does. The male of the two, yanked Sonya into his arms and threw them sideways out of the boulder's path. The two were rolling around until they came to a halt, Sonya on top. And that's when Sonya took in Leon's face fully. She never made eye contact with him too long until this very moment. He was undoubtedly handsome, when she met his gaze, she felt drawn into his eyes. The icy blueness generated a feeling like she was being pulled into a lake of frozen emotions. It was like all the myriad shades of blue swirled together to form a whirlpool of apprehension initially. But Sonya was drawn. No question. Leon's azure eyes flickered slightly, showing concern of the one on top of him currently. Leon stared back into her eyes, were a hickory color as rich as the earth's soil; stained with the color of hot chocolate on a cold, winter night that wraps around you like a blanket; engulfs you in its warmth and makes you feel at home. A person's eyes is the door to your soul. Each staring at one another's door, wanting to be let in subconsciously.

I love his eyes...

I love her eyes...

"Are You okay?" Leon shifted under her, she was light as a feather compared to him.

Sonya sat up off of him, "Ummm..."

"Yeah we should get..."

"...going." Sonya finished the statement, reluctantly getting up. She gave a hand to help Leon up, the male taking it.

Walking on, there was a clearing of tall grass and an abandoned, burnt down house. Tall grass has always creeped Sonya out growing up because you never know what type of bugs are in the grass. Yes, one of the President's personal agents is afraid of insects. Leon had realized Sonya's face contorted, but said nothing as she followed him.

"I hate tall grass..."

"Why?" Leon replied, a small smile tugging at his lips. Any person would know the answer to this.

"Insects-" Just then, a bomb exploded right before Leon. Sonya looked over concerned, looking for signs of Leon. Some residual smoke hung in the air, shifting like ghosts in the light breeze. It obscured Sonya's sight like fog in an alley on a humid night. She heard a gun shot. She saw that he was already up a he'd and had shot the Ganado whom was throwing the bombs. "What the hell! Leon..?!"

Damn it!

"You comin'?" The smoke cleared up, a small sigh of relief escaped the female's full lips. Sonya caught up with Leon.

"You looked worried." He was smug.

Sonya's face distorted, "No, I wasn't just looking around."

"Sure you were." sarcasm dripping from his statement.

"Shut up and let's go." Agitation.

"Fine."

The old house they led to must have been little more than a glorified shack. But now it looked for all the world like a giant had sat on the roof, for it sagged terribly. The windows were gaping holes for the wind to rush in and out through and the front door had a huge padlock on it. It was a rotting heap, the planks of wood old and crusty, bowing down, subservient to the element.

Leon was devising a plan to open the door, "Okay so were going to have to-." he was inadvertently cut off by the fire of Sonya's gun, shooting the lock off the door. "Or we could do that."

Walking inside the house, it smelled of dust and old mold. The air was thick of it and Sonya found herself to sneeze.

"Bless you." Leon was checking the area out, making sure for no Ganado.

"Gracias, Chico." rubbing her nose intently to get the tickling sensation out of it. Leon heard her smiling, hearing that nickname again that she gave him. He didn't reply though, realizing there was a wire bomb set up in the next room. He shoot it quickly, it exploding. Sonya jumped slightly. She noticed there was books on a shelf, some of them in English. She wanted to read them, it being one of her favorite pastimes but it was no room for it at the moment. The female brushed her fingers against them, dust on fingertips now. Leon observed her, "You like to read, huh?"

"Yes, it's one of my favorite pastimes." A small smile tugged at her lips. A banging sound was heard and Sonya jumped to grab her handgun and knife.

"Do you hear that Leon?"

"Yeah it's coming from behind the cabinet." He said.

Leon moved The cabinet with ease. He went in first checking out the area and Sonya coming in behind as his backup. Leon motioned Sonya with his head to go to the wardrobe. There was a barrage of bangs and shuffling coming from inside it. Leon was using sign language to tell Sonya after he opens the door ready your gun on the count of three using his fingers.

One-two-three! Leon motioned to Sonya.

A man, limbs tied up and a wrap around his mouth fell out of the closet and started to shake and squirm shaking his head in a solid 'no' because Sonya was pointing her handgun at him. Sonya pulled the tape off his mouth.

"A little rough don't you think?" said the male.

Sonya grunted, then turned him over roughly, and then started to untie him. Leon watched them intently, not really paying attention to their surroundings.

"You're not like them?" he asked Sonya and Leon. The question wasn't directed to either one. He just wanted an answer.

"No. You?" Leon replied. Sonya freed the man, as he rolls over and sits up.

"Okay. I have only one, very important question. You got a smoke?"

He looked at the both of them, Sonya rolled her eyes. "Do I look like I smoke?" Irritated.

Leon noticed the exchanged and small smile tugging at his lips again, "Got gum."

The rescue is wrecked as two armed Ganados enter the room. They are followed by the seven-foot-tall, bearded village chief, Bitores Mendez enters the room. The trio hop to their feet, on the defensive.

"Perfect. The big cheese."

Leon side glanced the man, "What?"

Without thinking Sonya then charges at Mendez and throws a spinning back kick at the chief. Mendez merely catches her foot and with one hand, launches her into the air...and onto Leon, then Leon falling onto Sierra destroying the cabinet on impact, and knocking them all out. Everything went black.

"Feeble humans...let us give you some of our...power."

Someone in a robe is holding a syringe in their hand. They inject an unknown substance into Leon's and Sonya's neck while still unconscious. A hooded occult leader is in the background. A chilling laugh is heard from him. "Soon, you will become unable to resist this...intoxicating power ."

Author's Note Please Read:

Phew! Done with this chapter. This is gonna be a long one: Happy New Years Guys! I've been busy with schoolwork and working. Alright, the next few chapters will be memories (not sure how many, but a lot maybe) . This will be only because the initial story was only supposed to be between Leon and my OC , Sonya and their relationship. Somehow, Avery just came in the mixture of things. I feel like even in the fanfiction realm there aren't enough strong LGBT characters that are OCs , I myself is lesbian and I want that demographic filled, look at Avery as an extension of me lmao. I need to develop their characters (Avery and Ivy) a little more, I'm trying to find that fine balance so you can understand my characters on a deeper level, because who doesn't love a story with good character development? I don't want to rush through this fanfiction I want to pace it nicely. But, I make short chapters so it might be awhile before this fiction is over lol. Thanks HiddenVenia , I'm glad you liked the last chapter! :) Honestly, It made me feel great. But, if you could give some constructive criticism may you? It will only make me better :) . I hope your New Years was great ! Review , favorite, share. Till next time.
