Chapter 2: The reincarnation
In the whiteness I existed.
Everything was misty for a while, and I couldn't think properly.
I opened my eyes, and felt like I could see in the first time in my life. Not that there is anything to see, but there was a certain supernatural clarity to the world. Like things that I experienced before was somehow all a dream, and all the regrets that I had was but a dream. My old life, as I can somehow know that I am now dead, is crystal clear to me, and I realize that I wasn't as sad or as terrible as I once thought. I can somehow judge with an over eye view now, and my conclusion was that I just had my head in my ass for too long, unable to look beyond my feeling and my needs. While that had some positives in the last years of my existence, it's also what led me down the rabbit hole in the first place, requiring me to change myself. Alexis was just another person, not better or worse, but human, and that's a great thing. Humanity is amazing, and I can say now with certain, that I would have been alright… you know, had I not been hit by a truck. Which led to my current predicament. I am dead, but am I still human?
The clarity didn't have answers for that. It seem to only work on my past life, giving me supernatural knowledge of what and how I was like. While it might not answer my questions, it has allowed me to have no regrets, now, in this large whiteness.
Kind of reminds me the hyperbolic time chamber haha.
I stood there for a long time, not doing anything, just enjoying the clarity and where I was. I'm not tired, I feel no physical discomfort, which is weird, since I remember having some back aches and neck pains at my young age of 27. I stood there without tiring, or boredom, for what is probably hours, or maybe even years… seconds? Hmm it seems if I keep thinking down this line, it will lead to a massive panic attack, at least the clarity warns me as such. So I decide to move. I walk. Simple gesture, I also have no clue where I am going, but it seem to have a medication like effect for me, since my muscles don't hurt here, I am capable of moving like this, likely indefinitely. So that's what I do, I move and keep moving. I looked around at the beginning, but now… everything is the whiteness, the floor has the same colour as everything, and a supernatural light covers everything. There is nothing here, and no shadows. That is weird, a world without shadows, but I suppose that happens when there's no corners and no light source, just light.
After an nondescript amount of time, something reaches my line of sight. I run towards it.
Turns out I can see really far out, and I can probably run forever in here without tiring. Well not any weirder than being dead I suppose.
I reach the computer and chair after some minutes of running, or at least what I assume to be minutes, based of the approximate number of one-two-three-fours i mutter to myself as I run. I might not get tired, but I can run out of breath, how does that even work?
I sit in front of the computer, and after a little, it shows me a 80s computer inbox. With the whole you got mail thing going on.
At this point, I am pretty sure someone is fucking with me on purpose, and there is nothing I can do otherwise. While I realize that this might be a trap of some kind, maybe one of the laws of this world is that they can't do anything to me, unless I accept it, but I have no intention of living in the white world forever. What's the worst that's going to happen? Besides the warnings in my head are severely overpowered by what my fantasies are telling me, that this is the start of an isekai story, and this is my power-up button, my system, my golden finger, and depending on where I am going, my lifeline.
I am going to be reincarnated.
Or at least I think I am… what are they going to kill me again?
I laughed as I pressed the mail that will provide me my answers.

Ok there are a lot of good and terrible powers here. The most powerful is probably extreme luck, and stuff like explosive farting is… probably powerful but not something I will ever take…
So lets list off the ones that interest me: Mimic others powers, extreme luck, extreme intelligence, Reactive Evolution, power stealing, density control, time pause, Magnetic Manipulation, Healing Factor, Self-Multiplication, Telekinesis, Superhuman Invention Skill, and Energy Conversion… maybe Eat anything if I can combine it with reactive evolution.
Note: Combination of powers is possible but it will take 1 random roll to make happen. In the situation combination fails, it will not open up an extra power slot, as you can only combine powers you have already selected.
Ok… the computer can read my mind, suddenly paranoia is back, and I KNOW instead of THINK that someone is watching me through this… probably this entity… well I really don't care that much it turns out haha.
I picked out 14 abilities, and I can only have 8, so elimination time. First to go is magnetic manipulation, I have no clue how powerful these abilities are, but unless I can control magnetic fields in a god like manner, it won't be able to showcase its abilities anymore than elemental manipulation. So that leaves 13. I will probably try to combine eat anything and Reactive evolution to see if I can see and absorb an infinity stone, I'm more than a little insane for thinking of it, but what's the worst that can happen? I die again? So that's a must have, leaving 11 powers for 7 slots. If I am going to try to absorb an infinity stone, I probably need an healing factor, while I can either steal it or copy it from other people… I've no clue is Logan or Wade will be in this version of the MCU, so that's 10 powers for 6 slots. Power stealing is amazing, but between it and mimic others powers, I really only need one, and with reactive evolution, I feel like mimic others powers will allow me to get powers best suited for me. So that's 8 powers for 5 slots. I can probably combine superhuman invention and intelligence, but I want to keep one of my rerolls for later, so I need to choose one of the two, I choose superhuman invention. I can probably get smarter from eating books or something? Maybe? Thats 6 powers for 4 slots. I don't need density control, 5 powers left. Self multiplication is overrated so 4 powers left, actually I don't need telekinesis either, I can 100% steal that off SOMEONE from MCU lets get rid of that and give me my extreme intelligence back, I might need that to learn magic or something.
So first I select Eat anything and Adaptive evolution and spend a point of RR to combine it.

Awesome, I selected the others which left me with Digestive assimilation, Mimic others powers, extreme luck, extreme intelligence, time pause, Healing Factor, Superhuman Invention, Energy Conversion, 8 extremely overpowered abilities in one person, any one of these could have made me an nightmare, but all combined seems a little much, now that I think about it. But it's a little too late for regrets because the next page has already shown up.

There are 3 ways to use your reroll in this section, you can reroll all 6 by using 1 RR; you can choose 1 of the 6 to reroll by using 1 RR; you can select 1 of the 6 and add +1 to that roll using 1 RR. The power levels are randomly assigned to each ability. This is the last place where you can use your RR point(s).
Example for power level: Super Strength at level 5 is wonder woman at level 9 is supergirl, and at level 11 is superman. Note: level 11 is cosmic level power, at this level with super strength, superman is capable of holding the book of infinite pages. At level 11 your powers are only held back by your subconscious.
Extra note: some of the abilities give will simply give you more control and duration as the level goes up.

I am a little horrified at what energy conversion could do at level 10 let along 11… I decided to use it in a defensive manner only, instinctively I knew that at level 11 energy conversion, I would riven the power of that of the phoenix, however it doesn't help me control that power. If I use it as a defence only skill I am able to convert it in such a way that it will never hurt me. I may not be able to use it to turn gravitational pull into heat blasts, but I am able to absorb that energy and power my inventions or even my other powers with them. By converting it to defence only, I am giving myself an nearly unlimited energy source, and a way to be almost unkillable. I added the point into Energy conversion and set it's absorption properties as the main utility. It will severely limit my offence, but it will also make sure I don't accidently blow up the planet.
Extreme intelligence at 10 means I am equal to the smartest person in that universe, which makes me Reed Richard level if I remember correctly. With that level of intellect, I can probably blow up the world in a way that doesn't require my powers.
