Chapter 10: On The Sofa
"I'm really glad I'm ambidextrous." Naruto muttered to himself as he finished his math homework on the sofa and he tucks it away in his backpack. "Now…" He turned the television on, "Let's see what's on now."
"You're watching telly now?" Luna suddenly jumped over the sofa's back onto the seat next to Naruto's left.
"Yeah, you want to watch something?" He asked.
"Nah, I just need some break from music for a bit." The rocker shrugged her shoulders lightly as her brother settle on a channel, "Ugh, Batman flick again? Didn't you watch it the other day?"
"That is Dark Knight, the other one was Dark Knight Rises." Naruto said.
"Oh." Luna uttered, "At least you're not watching Avengers again…For the seventh time in one week."
"Hey, don't blame me." He nudged her lightly, "Blame whoever run the channels, it's not like I asked them to run same movie over and over."
"Right…" She sighed out, "Can we just check whatever's on demand?"
"Sure, after this movie." Naruto gestured at the television.
"Okay." Luna nodded as she lift Naruto's good arm up then place it around her shoulders to snuggle up against his side, carefully not to touch his casted leg as she rest her head on his shoulder. "At least it's good one out of three."
"Yeah." He said and they watch the movie for few minutes in silence before he speaks again. "So…Why the cuddle?"
"I feel like cuddling with my favorite bro." Luna replied without missing a beat, "You get a problem with that?"
"Nah, just curious." Naruto shrugged slightly, "It's just…You're not a type that like to cuddle, you know?"
"Hey, I do like to cuddle sometime." The rocker pouted and the blonde teenager snorted lightly, which earn him a light swat from the pouting rocker. "It's true!"
"Okay, okay." He squeezed her arm lightly with a chuckle, "Keep cuddling and carry on."
"Oh, ugh!" Luna groaned, "I can't believe you said that, I can expect that from Luan but not you!"
"Hey, it's not a pun." Naruto smirked, "And I find Luan's puns amoosing."
"OH GOD!" The rocker smacked his chest, "STOP! Don't you dare start!"
"Did someone crack a bad pun?" Luan suddenly poked her head in from the dinning room, "That's how eye roll!" Both prank-lovers laughed together.
"Dammit…" Luna facepalmed, she hope they'll drop it in few minutes so she can keep cuddling up to Naruto and try to get him notice her more.
A hour later, they were still watching the movie in silence until Lori's voice shout out from upstairs. "GROSS! LINCOLN! YOU CLOGGED THE TOILET AGAIN?!"
"I'M TELLING DADDY!" Lola's voice cried out.
Luna jump up on her feet with few stretches, "I'm gonna check it out."
"Let me know how bad it is." Naruto said with curious expression and the rocker gives him a nod before she walks up the stairs. Lola rush down a moment later to the kitchen then walk out with their father in tow.
"Well, there goes my Wednesday." Lynn Sr grumbled with plunger in his hand.
"Lola, what did Lincoln flush down this time?" The blonde teenager asked his young sister as they walk up the stairs.
"Who know?" Lola huffed, "But it better not be one of my stuff or there'll be hell to pay!"
"I don't think Lincoln will try to cover something up…" Naruto paused for few moments as the duo disappear from his sight, "…Wait, scratch that. I hope he don't break something this time." Lana suddenly run out then back upstairs with large plunger.
"BIG BERTHA COMING THROUGH!" Lana hollered.
"Everyone's grounded until someone fesses up who clogged the toilet." Lynn Sr. half-shouted so Naruto can hear him.
"Yikes, must be pretty bad situation." Naruto muttered to himself, not upset about the fact that he's grounded because he have a good excuse…
"Naruto, did you…" Lynn Sr. walked down.
"Nah, I didn't use toilet since I got back from school." The blonde said, "And I have been on sofa all day, doctor's order. You know that, since you kept check on me every ten minutes as soon as I got home and I kept told you that I'm fine."
"…Oh, right." The father cupped his chin with a hum, "Your alibi is soild…But you're still grounded with everyone until someone spill the beans."
"Can I still watch television?" Naruto asked, "I finished all my homework."
"…Yes, you can." Lynn Sr. shrugged his shoulders as he return upstairs, "I better help Lana unclogging the toilet."
"Ugh, I can't believe Lincoln!" Lynn Jr. stomped down the stairs angrily few minutes later, "I'm gonna make meatball sub and maim it like Lincoln!"
"Hey, how bad is the clog?" Naruto asked, realize that he forget to ask his father about it.
"Class five, according to Lana." The tomboy went in kitchen with a huff.
"Whoa." He whistled, "That sucks." That mean the toilet is out of use for hours until their father and Lana fix it. Naruto turn his attention back to the movie and about twenty minutes later, he saw Lincoln and Lucy jogging to the kitchen before he hear the tomboy shouting out.
"Hey! What's with the light?!"
'Mmm, guess lil bro is doing 'crime-investigating' to find the culprit but why is Lucy with him?' Naruto wondered before his little brother and goth sister suddenly appear at his sides, shoving their faces closer to him.
"Before we go see Lisa, we gotta ask you…" Lincoln shined light in his big brother's face, "Did you jammed the john?!"
"Lil bro, I'm in cast." Naruto squirted his eyes to block the light, "I have hard time going up the stairs and if I did, you all would have hear me hobbling around, thank to thin walls. Plus, you can ask dad, he's my alibi because he kept checking on me every ten minutes…"
"Naruto, are you okay?" Lynn Sr. hollered from above.
"I'm fine, dad!" The blonde teenager rolled his eyes at his worrywart father.
"He has a point." Lucy said, "He has been down here all day after school so therefore…"
"He is not the culprit." Lincoln sighed before he pull a card out, "Now let's see this joker!"
"Again, that's the two of diamonds." The goth girl said.
"OH COME ON!" The white-haired boy groaned before the young siblings hop off the sofa and head up the stairs as their big brother watch on.
"…Huh, just like that?" Naruto blinked before he shrug his shoulders and focus on his movie.
"Hey, movie still on?" He glance up to see Luna walk up to the sofa, had change her clothes. She wear purple shorts and tattered loose shirt.
"Yeah, but it's almost over." The blonde boy said as Batman and Joker face off, "Um, why did you changed?"
"Because I want to be more comfortable." Luna said as she sit down to cuddle with him again, "And I have no plan tonight so…Why not?"
"Okay then." Naruto hummed.
"Wanna check on demand after that?" The rocker asked, leaning forward as her collar slip down slightly.
"Sure." To Luna's disappointment, Naruto was still watching the movie and she was about to say something but Lincoln and Lucy suddenly appear in front of her, nearly startled her in process.
"Luna, we need your alibi for…" Lincoln said.
"I was here with Naruto when it went down." Luna grunted annoyingly, "We were watching movie."
"She's telling truth." The blonde nodded for confirmation.
"Okay, that proves it." Lucy turned to her white-haired brother.
"GAH!" The white-haired boy threw his hands up, "We're running out of time and we've got nothing!"
"Is he doing it because he want to go to this con so badly?" Luna whispered to Naruto.
"Yup, because one of his favorite writer and artist is gonna be there." Naruto whispered back.
"Ah." The rocker hummed and Lana slide down the stair rail.
"WE'VE GOT SOMETHING!" Lana held a thick book, "Here's the culprit!"
"Aha!" Lincoln snatched it from young tomboy's hands, "A break in the case!" He looked closer and it read 'Princess Pony: The Touching True Story Of A Delightful Pony Who Changes The World With Her Horse Sense'. "That's one mouthful title." He said to the wall, earn a couple raised eyebrows from his older siblings.
"There's only one person who would read this…" Lucy spoke up, "Lola!"
"That lying scoundrel!" The white-haired boy narrowed his eyes with clenched fist.
"You guys do remember that was just down the toilet, right?" Lana deadpanned at them and the young boy drop it in disgust as Lucy take a step back away from him.
"You guys better wash your hands." Naruto groaned and Luna nodded with faintly green face as the young kids run upstairs.
"…I've never heard of Princess Pony, do you?" Luna looked up to him confusingly.
"Me neither." The blonde tilted his head, "Must be one of these My Little Pony rip-off."
"You might be right." The rocker hummed before she pick the remote up, "What flick are you in mood for?"
"Horror or comedy." Naruto said, "Both, if they get some certain movies like Happy Death Day." He paused for a moment as he realize something, "No, wait, just comedy. Something family-friendly."
"Let me guess, you forget you're not in your room with your gadgets?" Luna snorted lightly as he nodded, "Alright, let me check…"
"Oh, I know the perfect comedy movie you all should watch!" Luan suddenly steal the remote from the surprised rocker, "Hold on…"
"Gimme this clicker!" The rocker wrestled with her jokester sister.
"Like, what are they doing?" Leni approached the sofa with Lori, texting each other for some reason. At same time, Lincoln immediately answers the door as soon as the doorbell rings in background.
"Fighting over the remote." Naruto said, "We were gonna see if there's any comedy movies to watch on demand."
"Ugh, I can't believe they think I read something so stupid like that." Lola stride in, combing her hair.
"Well, it looks like something you would read because you're all about glittery and pink." Lana carried her tools into the living room, their young genius sister follow them with her nose in thick book.
"Boy, that was one good sub." Lynn hiked in with a loud burp before she hop on seat next to Naruto, "What are we watching?"
"A wrestling match." Naruto gestured to bickering rocker and jokester as they still fight over the remote.
"LUCY!" Lincoln's voice gasped out in the background, following by front door slamming and rapid footsteps that continue all way upstairs then they hear the door kicked open.
"LINCOLN, STOP KICKING THE DOORS DOWN!" Lynn Sr.'s voice hollered.
"Ace? Lincoln?" Some can hear Clyde's voice behind the front door.
"Wonder what got him all exciting?" Lana glanced up to the ceiling before the siblings shrug their shoulders, resume their activities or mind their own business.
"Give it back!" Luan pulled the remote.
"It's mine!" Luna yank it back with gritted teeth, furious with her sisters unknowingly get in her way.
"Excuse me…" Lucy appeared, "I have something to say…" She held a thick book up, "This is what totaled the toilet."
"Princess Pony?" Lisa corked her eyebrow before the girls laugh out loud.
"Which one of you lame-o's does that belong to?" Lynn snickered.
"Certainly not me!" The genius girl crossed her arms with a snort, "It's so sickengly sweet I get a toothache just looking at it!"
Can that really happen?!" Leni gasped in horror, earn few eyerolls and headshake from her sisters.
"Whoever that belongs to is gonna be the laughingstock of this house!" Luan laughed.
"Yeah!" Lori agreed, "They are literally worse than Lincoln! And he wears his underwear on the outside!" The sisters laughed harder and Naruto glance at his goth sister before he realize that the book actually belong to her as Lincoln approach the group, sneak few glances at his siblings.
"Actually…" Lucy took a deep breath, "The book belongs to…"
"ME!" Lincoln suddenly shouted out.
"YOU?!" All the sisters dropped their jaws at him with flabbergasted expressions.
"I didn't want to tell you because I knew you'd make fun of me." The white-haired boy rubbed his neck awkwardly.
"Aw, Lincoln…" Lori said with sympathy tone before she smirk wickedly, "Of course, we're gonna make fun of you! But only for the rest of your life!" Naruto cleared his throat, "…A whole year…" Another clearing throat, "Six months, and that's final!"
"Good enough." Naruto nodded, it's at least he can do for Lincoln after he took the heat for their goth sister.
"I'm looking forward to it." Lincoln puffed his chest up, "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go tell…"
"DADDY!" Lola ran upstairs, "IT WAS LINCOLN WHO CLOGGED THE TOILET!"
"LINCOLN, YOU'RE GROUNDED!" Lynn Sr. hollered, "GIRLS, NARUTO, YOU'RE NO LONGER GROUNDED!" Most girls cheered.
"Why did you do that?" Lucy whispered to her white-haired brother.
"Because you were right." Lincoln whispered back, "I can handle the teasing. I'm quite comfortable with who I am. Obviously!" He smiled, "But don't worry. Someday, you'll be, too. Until then, your big brother's got your back."
"Thanks, Lincoln." Lucy gave him a ghostly smile.
"As Ace Savvy would say…" Lincoln took his deck out, "It's no big deal!" He attempted to pass the cards to his hand but the cards fling out all over the floor, "Dang it!"
"Oh, I better use toilet!" Lynn gasped out as soon as she feel her stomach rumbling, "Fifty meatball subs…Number two!" She raced up bow-legged.
"DAD, I THINK WE'RE GONNA NEED BIG BERTHA AGAIN!" Lana shouted with widened eyes.
"OH FOR LOVE OF…" Lynn Sr.' voice wailed with some sobs, "I just want to finish my new recipe!"
"Now I'm off to the con…" Lincoln suddenly ran out, immediately drag Clyde who have been standing outside all confusing for who know how long.
"Did he forget he's grounded?" Luna deadpanned.
"He is so gonna get it from mom and dad when he get home." Lori deadpanned before some of the siblings watch a random show while Luna and Luan resume their fighting over the remote.
The next day, Naruto walk into the living room with Jackie. "I'm totally glad we're done with this science test for, like, couple weeks." Jackie blew her hair up.
"Same." Naruto chuckled lightly, he know she don't like science because it's not her best subject when it come to deep information like Physic for example. "You're gonna sticking around?"
"Yeah, until dinnertime." Jackie dump her backpack on the sofa's cushions then plop down next to Naruto as she dig through her backpack, "Oh, check that out. I found something cool when I was cleaning my closet out…" She was about to pull something out but…
"Everyone, meeting in living room!" Lincoln walked into the living room with loud voice, "Because I have something to say!"
"It better be something good or I'm gonna hit you." Lynn appeared with her sisters before they notice Jackie.
"Sup, guys." The blonde skater greeted them with a wave and some return her greeting with various expressions while two certain sisters grumble mentally at her appearance.
"Listen, for my class, we have to do the energy reduction project." Lincoln cleared his throat, "We gotta reduce our eco-footprint so that means no…" He listed out many things that they can't use from Lori's endless phone usage to Lisa's experiment. "So are we on board?" He grinned at his siblings and they stare at him before the sisters start to complaining as Luan threw pie at his face. "Or not…" Lincoln wiped the cream off his face as few raised their eyebrows at the use of his comment, "Time to pull out the big guns…" He pulled an poster of polar cub with puppy eyes out, "…And if we don't all do our part, this adorable little guy won't survive." The girls suddenly sobbed with river of tears.
"…Wow, remind me to buy these posters if we find them in stores." Naruto whispered to Jackie, receive a small snicker from her. If that stop his sisters from fighting then he would gladly buy them in bulk and use it to escape their wrath if he accidently piss them off.
"But what can we do?" Lori asked sorrowfully.
"I'm glad you asked." The white-haired boy pointed at Lori's many webcams, "You don't need all of these devices."
"Yes, I do!" Lori crossed her arms with a scoff, "Bobby and I like to admire each other with multiple angles."
"Hey, Lincoln!" Bobby waved next to Mona Lisa painting, "Hola from France!"
"Kinda hard to believe he's in France now since we saw him two days ago." Jackie whispered to Naruto and he nod in agreement.
"Who is that girl?" Lori narrowed her eyes at Bobby, "And why is she smiling at you?!"
"Babe, that's the Mona Lisa…" Bobby pointed out before the screen went blank as Lincoln unplugged the webcam, unknowingly cut the Latino teenager off.
"Instead of using all of these, why don't you write Bobby a letter?" Lincoln turned to his oldest sister.
"Why don't I rip your little…" Lori raised her claw-out hands with growl.
"Polar bear!" Lincoln thrust the poster at her.
"Awww!" Lori's mood pull 180 turn as she gush over the cute cub, "Okay, I'll write him a letter." She scowled, "And maybe I'll write one to that little flirt Mona, too." She becomes confused when she hears Naruto and Jackie snickering behind her back.
"But how will I keep my reptiles warm?" Lana asked as soon as Lincoln put the fire out in furnace, "They're cold-blooded, you know."
"But you're not." Lincoln dressed her up in thick parka with all of her reptiles and Lana seems to like it. He turns to Lisa, "Instead of powering your lab with megawatts of electricity, why not use a renewable resource?"
"…Lincoln, this is genius!" Lisa gasped in awe before she run upstairs.
"Leni, instead of taking multiple showers a day…" Lincoln held up a wet towelette, "How about using this refreshing moist towelette?"
"Did he just pull it out from his pocket?" Jackie whispered to Naruto oddly.
"Yes, he just did." Naruto deadpanned, "How his pant stay dry is beyond me."
And clog my pores?" Leni gasped before she wave it away, "No way!" Her little brother flashed her the poster, "Awwww…Okay." She took the towelette then retreat to the bathroom upstairs, "Time for my fifth shower."
"Luan, instead of wasting all that energy making more pies, why not get some comedy out of your leftover banana peels?" The white-haired boy glanced at the said girl, gesturing at few banana peels on the floor.
"That old gag?" Luan scoffed, "I don't think so." Lincoln shrug then take one step before he trip on a peel, landing on his back with a groan. "…Actually, I'm starting to see the a-peel!" She laughed as few groans at her pun, beside Naruto as he chuckled.
"Naruto, since you usually play games when Jackie is here…" Lincoln stood up with another groan as he rubbed his sore bottom, "Can you play a game board instead of game system…"
"I got you covered because…" Jackie pulled two devices with a triumph smirk, "These things run on double A batteries."
"No way!" Naruto gasped at the devices, "Are these Game Boy?!"
"Game Boy Color." The skater's smirk widened, "Also, I found our Pokemon Blue and Red! It still have our save files and still work good." She pulled an cord out, "Link cable too!"
"Gimme Red!" The blonde teenager grinned widely before they turn the game boys on.
"Um, Game Boy Color?" Lincoln raised his eyebrow at them confusingly, "Never heard of them, is that a new system?" He checked the eco-meter, "Either way, it just put us in yellow zone…" He walked off to find the rest of his sisters to reduce their energy use.
"Jeez, we need to drill the good stuffs into them." Jackie shook her head, "What kind of gamer is he if he have never heard of Game Boy."
"He's a casual player." Naruto nudged her lightly, "Wanna do battle with our LV hundred team first then restart it all and battle with full team at low level?"
"You read my mind." The skater smirked again, their players challenge each other on their game consoles. As they set everything up, a shout almost cause them to jump slightly.
"SAY IT PROUD!" Luan's voice shouted, "WE'RE GREEN AND LOUD!"
"SAY IT PROUD!" The sisters shouted, "WE'RE GREEN AND LOUD! SAY IT PROUD! WE'RE GREEN AND LOUD!"
"Living it up to your last name." Jackie chuckled together with Naruto, "Shame you can't join them."
"Yeah, quite a shame." Naruto shoot some daggers at his casted leg playfully, "Anyway, back to the game…What's the rules here?"
"How about no HP recovery?" The skater suggested.
"I accept this rule." The blonde boy nodded, "You ready to battle?"
"Yup!" Jackie pressed the button and the battle theme start to play as Lynn and Lucy walk back to the sofa.
"Hey, wanna watch the game?" Lynn turned the television on, "It's a boxing match between…"
"Nah, I'm having a epic match with my team against Jackie's." Naruto focused on his game boy, "I'm gonna whoop her team in one go!"
"Pfft, I don't think so." Jackie snorted amusedly, "You're having your Charizard facing my Blastoise, we know who'll lose here."
"Yeah, your Blastoise because I'm gonna blast it away with flamethrower!" The blonde boy selected the said move.
"…Ugh." The tomboy tossed the remote over to Lucy before she sit down next to Naruto as she grumble something under her breath, something about breaking board and stupid blondes. Lucy changed the channel to SYFY then sit down next to Jackie. About ten minutes, Lincoln suddenly appear and turn the television off without any warning.
"Hey!" Lynn narrowed her eyes at him, "What the…"
"Remember this guy?" Lincoln held the poster up.
"Yes, we saved him." The tomboy crossed her arms with eyeroll.
"Well, he's got siblings, too." The white-haired boy huffed, "Do you hate siblings? Are you siblings-hater?" The tomboy look down sorrowfully.
"Well, I'm starting to." Lucy said flatly and the group watch Lincoln removes the television, carrying it away to the basement as Leni walk by to pick the remote up then click it at the window.
"Hey, guys!" Leni turned to them with a exciting gasp, "Our neighborhood's on TV!"
"Um, Leni, that's the window." Naruto glanced up to her then back to his game.
"Oh." The ditzy teenager turned to the window, "Is that a new show? I'm, like, luving it!" Her sisters just facepalm at her comment.
"Hey, did Clyde just came in?" Jackie asked absentmindedly, had noticed the black boy walking in from the corner of her eyes.
"Yeah, maybe Lincoln invited him over." Naruto shrugged his shoulders, also noticed him early before his head roll back with annoying groan as his best friend pump her fist up in victory pose. "I can't believe your Mewtwo TKO my pokemon!"
"I trained him better than anyone." The skater said smugly, "Rematch with different team or do you want to start over with new pokemon like you want?"
"Rematch first!" The blonde boy muttered, earn a small giggle from his best friend. They played few more matches until they hear some argument down in the basement, the Loud sisters' voices shout over Lincoln's voice before the best friends trade looks with each other.
"Lil dude's plan backfire again, huh?" Jackie said.
"Sound like it." Naruto nodded before they resume their battle and the sisters walk out happily, something that make their eyebrows lift up puzzlingly. "Why are you all happy?"
"Because Lincoln is gonna make it up to us by powering the generator up…" Luan grinned, "With manpower!" Few girls groaned annoyingly at her joke.
"LINCOLN!" Lori suddenly shouted over her shoulder, "PEDAL FASTER! I'M DOWNLOADING A PIC FROM BOBBY!"
"…Okay, I guess we'll use the trip fund for Lincoln's funeral." Naruto sighed jokingly.
"I'll send the flowers." Jackie nudged him with her shoulder.
It was Saturday morning and Naruto was watching television, bored out of his mind as the noise of his siblings playing or fighting around upstairs. "Man, why did they stop making Saturday morning cartoons?" He sighed to himself before he hear his mother threw her hands up with loud voice and he glance at the opening door over the sofa.
"Eleven is way too many!" Rita huffed furiously, "I can't take it anymore!"
"But we can't get rid of them!" Lynn Sr. clutched his ugly ties to his chest, "I'm too attached!"
"I know you are, honey, but they're just so obnoxious and loud." The mother of twelve sighed before she crossed her arms, "I'm sorry, but my mind is made up. I want all of them out of the house and on the curb in time for trash pickup tomorrow."
"But I love my tie collection!" The father pouted childishly, "Cool neckwear is my thing."
"Honey, they're an embarrassment." Rita deadpanned.
"Not this one." Lynn Sr. held a disco tie up then press a hidden button as the disco tie light up with music, "It's like a dance party around your neck." He danced his way out of the room as his embarrassed wife stand by.
"…Naruto…" She whispered.
"Don't worry, mom." Naruto said out loud, "I'll get rid of them, one by one and no one will notice it until it's too late."
"Good boy." Rita sighed out and unknown to them, Lincoln have heard everything beside the tie part before he run off to fetch his sisters over a misunderstanding.
"But I thought you love them." Lynn Sr. returned as soon as his tie stop playing music.
"Frankly, dear, I didn't like the first one." His wife huffed, "And the next thing I know, we've got eleven…Twelve." She noticed an extra ugly tie under the bed and she picks it up to her husband's sheepish expression before they hear some very loud noise above. "Good grief, what's going on up there?"
"The usual, I guess." Her husband scratched his head, never notice that Naruto snatch one of his ties or the fact that he dump it in nearby trashcan, neither his wife's thumb-up to the blonde teenager.
Twenty minutes later, Lynn Sr. was crawling on his knees with his clasped hands up in pray fashion. "Honey, please!" He begged as Naruto steal another tie, "Won't you reconsider?!"
"Okay, maybe I judged them unfairly." Rita lied as she subtly orders Naruto to get rid of the rest with her hand at waist level, "Forget what I said about getting rid of all of them."
"You mean it?!" Her husband gasped happily, "I can keep them all?!"
"I didn't say that." She replied as Naruto secretly feed one of ugly ties to their pet dog, "But I will let you keep your favorite."
"But they're all equally great." Lynn Sr. held some of his ties up, "How can I pick just one?"
"Come on." Rita threw her right hand up, "There must be one that stands out above the rest."
"Ah, let me think…" The father rubbed his chin with a thoughtful hum as he glanced over his remaining ties, failed to realize that three were missing from his collection.
"Are we gonna let him keep one?" Naruto asked his mother curiously.
"No." The mother replied lowly, "I do not want these hideous ties in my house a second! Keep it up."
"Get it." The blonde boy gave her a thumb-up.
Naruto have been waiting for a chance to steal another tie for almost a hour, it's really hard to steal them when his father is busying stare unsurely at his ties on bed. The blonde teenager release a sigh before he notice his little brother sneaking toward their direction with pancake and mug cup. 'Is this pancake shaped like dad?' He was about to call him out but Lola suddenly appear.
"Lincoln, where are you going with those pancake?" Lola asked suspiciously.
"Um…" Lincoln glanced at the said food in his hand, trying to come up with some excuse.
"And why did you spell out 'World's best dad' with chocolate chips?" The princess wannabe thrust her index finger at the chips.
"You can read?" The white-haired boy blinked owlishly.
"I am more than just a pretty face, Lincoln!" Lola scoffed with hand on her chest before she grab Lincoln by his ear, dragging him away. "Now, you're up to something, and I'm gonna find out what it is!"
"OW, OW, OW!" Lincoln cried out in pain.
"Ooookay…" Naruto blinked at the scene, wondering what was going on and if he need to step in. His thoughts vanish when Rita approach her husband with a clearing throat.
"So have you decided yet?" Rita asked with hands on her hip.
"I don't know." Lynn Sr. bit his lip as he picked a keyboard tie up, "Maybe I'll keep the musical one."
"Are you kidding?" The blonde woman groaned, "That one makes my ears bleed!"
"Also, this music isn't catchy." Naruto pointed out and the parent nod in agreement.
"Well, I definitely don't need the dark one." The father tossed musical tie away then picked black tie up, "So dreary. Good for a funeral, but what else, really? Right?" He hummed before pick a random tie up, "How about the one with hockey sticks?"
"Eh, never been a fan." Rita shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly before she point at a dirty tie, "Same with the filthy one."
"How about the funny one?" Lynn Sr. held a tie, littered with jokes and spinning flower.
"Never made me laugh." His wife deadpanned.
"Ugh!" The father tossed pink tie over his shoulder, "Now the pink one I can definitely do without."
"PAY FOR THIS!" The parent and teenager look up at the ceiling puzzingly.
"…And the littlest one is just crying to be thrown out." Rita lift a tiny tie up with a shaking head then pick another weird tie up, "Then we've got the dumb one."
"You know, I'd also feel a little guilty about tossing out the gifted one." Lynn Sr. gestured to Christmas tie.
"Oh, who's gonna know?" The mother waved it off, "So where does that leave us?"
"Let's see…Um…" Her husband glanced at the row of ties before a shout cause them to jump up.
"YOU WHAT?!" Lola's voice screeched.
"What the hell is going on up there?" Rita whispered lowly to her husband and oldest son and they merely shrug at her.
"I'm sorry, honey, but I just can't pick a favorite." Lynn Sr. turned to Rita with a heavy sigh, never notice that Naruto snatch two more ties off the bed. "It's too hard."
"Fine." Rita rolled her eyes, "Can we at least just get rid of one? Just one? I'm begging you."
"Okay, we'll get rid of, um…" The grinning father looks at the ties again, failing to realize that it was missing few more ties. "The one with the white hair." He picked an Easter tie before he rub his chin thoughtfully, "You know, I'm not even sure if it's mine."
"You mean your Easter tie?" Rita raised her eyebrow, "Honey, no one calls it a 'hare'. It's a bunny rabbit. But I agree." She crossed her arms, "It's hideous."
"Dunno." Naruto raised his hand up, "This thing will give Leni and little sisters nightmare if they see it." Both parent nodded and few moments, the Loud siblings suddenly barge into their parent's room, screaming something about Lincoln have to stay before they trip down over Naruto's lying cutch. "Oh, are you guys okay?"
"What the?" Both parents looked down at their children.
"There's nothing wrong with his white hair!" Leni jumped up on her feet.
"White hair?" Lynn Sr. blinked rapidly before he hold the Easter tie up puzzlingly, "You kids like my Easter tie?"
"…Easter tie." Luna stood up with confusing expression.
"Yeah!" The grinning father gestured at the themed ties, "It's great, right? You know what? They all are! Honey, I'm not getting rid of any of these ties!"
"Oh, joy." Rita muttered flatly, at least her oldest son is getting rid of them under her husband's nose like he did with this creepy clown thing.
"Ties?" Lincoln stood up with the rest of sisters, "You guys have been talking about ties?"
"Yup." Naruto picked his cutch up.
"Of course." Their mother said, "What did you think we were talking about?"
"Uh, nothing…" The white-haired boy laughed sheepishly.
"WE THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA GET RID OF US!" Lola cried out with widened eyes and the parents and the oldest brother stare at her for few moments before they laugh together.
"Oh, we would never do that." Rita laughed, "You're the best eleven things that ever happened to us…"
"There's twelve, honey." Lynn Sr. corrected her.
"Yep, right." The mother giggled guiltily, it's not her fault that Lily was born almost a year ago and everything was kinda blurry in between. The daughters let a relieved breath out as Naruto kept laughing at them and Lincoln take one glance at the Easter tie.
"Whoof!" Lincoln looked at the wall with creepied-out expression, "Dad really should get rid of that one."
"How long is that gonna last for?" Lori can't help but to deadpanned at her little brother's antic before she look at her laughing blonde brother, "And stop laughing, Naruto!"
"N-N-N-Not my fault you all believe mom and dad were gonna kick you guys out when they were talking about ties!" Naruto laughed harder, "A-A-A-And it never occurs to you that you should just come down and check or ask them in first place!" His sentence causes the sisters and white-haired boy to freeze for two good minutes.
"…Oh, god…" Luna smacked her forehead embarrassingly, "And you're not gonna let us live it down, aren't you?"
"Oh totally!" The blonde teenager whipped his phone out, "Wait until I tell Jackie, Bobby and the rest about that!"
"DON'T YOU DARE!" Everyone cried out but their blonde brother swiftly leave the room as fast as he can with one good leg and they chase him around.
"…Say, am I missing few ties?" Lynn Sr. looked at his collection puzzlingly.
"No, you might imagine it." Rita said offhandedly, kicking another tie over to Charles.
On Sunday, it was getting dark outside as Naruto lazing around on the sofa, trying his best to ignore the itching feeling under his cast and silently cursing his doctor for damning him to the boredom of holing up in living room. "May I have the television?" Naruto blink few times before he look down to the source of the voice to see his goth sister as she stare blankly at him.
"Oh, sure, Lucy." Naruto gave her the remote, "Go ahead."
"Thank you." Lucy climb upon the seat next to her brother as she changed the channel to a old black-and-white vampire movie then lean against his left side.
"Is that Dracula?" He asked, wrapping his good arm around her as she snuggles closer.
"Yes, 30's." The goth sister replied, "They also are going to show Nosferatu and few more vampire movies after that."
"Cool." Naruto hummed lightly, not minding that one of his young sisters watch bunch of horror movies because he knows she can watch some goriest movie without batting an eyelash and never get a nightmare from those. 'But again, I always make sure these movies don't have too much blood or too violent for them.' He thought absentmindedly then wonder how Lucy fall in love with horror and dark theme in first place, beside this damn Twilight series. Before they know it, Lincoln slide down the stairs then land on his feet facing the wall with a smug smirk.
"Like I said, I might not be the fastest, and I might not be the strongest, but to get all of my sisters out of the way, it pays to have a plan." Lincoln said, "Then big bro and I will watch…"
"You forget me." Lucy spoke, causing the white-haired boy to jump up in air with a scream.
"Lucy!" The widened-eyed white-haired boy turned around to face the said girl, "I always forget about Lucy!"
"Story of my life." The goth girl drawled.
"Hey, I didn't forget you all the time." Naruto patted his sister's head.
"What are you doing here?" Lincoln asked her.
"It's marathon of vampire movies then they are going to show the season premiere of my favorite show, Vampires of Melancholia." The goth sister replied.
"This is the episode of ARGGH that everyone is going to be talking about at school tomorrow!" The white-haired boy gestured to ARGGH image on TV Guide, "Please let me watch it? Pretty please with a black cherry on top?"
"I'm sorry, Lincoln, but you know the rule." Lucy refused, "I was here first."
"NOOOOO!" Lincoln screamed out before he spot the remote then licked it, "HA!"
"That's the old remote that Lily threw into the toilet." The goth girl held a new remote up.
"Unflushed." Naruto added with slightly green face.
"OH GOD!" The young boy clawed his tongue as he spit few times before he suddenly weep on his knees.
"Sorry, Lincoln, I can't miss my vampires." Lucy said coldly, "Edwin is so cold and tormented and mysterious. Sigh. If only he wasn't from another century."
"…Another century!" Lincoln's eyes lit up as an idea strike him, "That's okay, Lucy. You can watch your show on the big color TV. I'll just go watch my show on dad's crummy, old, black-and-white TV."
"Black and white are my favorite colors." Lucy turned her head to him.
"Yeah, it'll make watching my show a little bit more…" Lincoln paused for a dramatic moment, "Spooky!"
"Spooky is also my favorite color." The goth girl said.
"Since when is spooky a color?" Naruto gave his little sister a funny look.
"Since I make it as it is." Lucy looked back at him and her oldest brother roll his eyes.
"Well, enjoy your vampires." Lincoln start to walk away.
"I will." The goth girl turned back to the television, leaning on her brother again.
"Three…Two…" The blonde teenager counted down to his sister's confusion, "One…"
"PLEASE LET ME HAVE THE TELEVISION!" Lincoln ran back in, wailing out loud. "Take dad's old television! Please! Please! Please!"
"Sigh." Lucy pushed herself off her oldest brother, "Fine, I'll watch the old television but you're the one to set it up." Lincoln nodded rapidly, "Go get this TV…" She whispered lowly enough that they can't hear her, "You crybaby."
"I will…" The white-haired boy grinned before he blink curiously, "What was the last part you said?"
"I said nothing." The goth girl replied flatly.
"Is it me or does Lucy look little cranky?" Lincoln whispered to the wall, despite the fact that his sister kept her stoic expression up.
Naruto push button on remote few times before he put it down, "I wonder why he don't think of doing that in first place?" He lean back with another sigh and few minutes, the power went out without any warning before he takes a look around in dark confusingly. 'Is it a blackout or did the fuse blow out?'
"NARUTO!" The twin quickly raced down the stairs then toward him before they jump onto the sofa, immediately grabs his side in tight bear hug as they cried out in fear.
"It's okay, it's okay." Naruto wrapped his arm around them with few bounces in attempt to calm his frightened sisters down, "I'm here, girls."
"B-B-B-But it's dark!" Lana sniffled.
"Turn the lights back on!" Lola tugged his shirt frighteningly.
"All right!" Lori led the rest of her siblings down the stairs to the living room as best as she can in the dark, "All right! Everybody just calm down!"
"Guys!" Leni half-shouted, "I can't see anything! I think I've gone blind!"
"No, you didn't go blind." Lori deadpanned before she turn to the group with narrowed eyes, "What the heck happened?"
"I was just plugging in the old TV for Lucy and it must've made the lights go out." Lincoln said.
"Of course it was your fault, Lincoln." Lori rolled her eyes with annoyed sigh and several girls complained about him.
"What?" The white-haired boy threw his hands up, "All I did was plug in some dumb old TV!"
"Hey!" Luan popped in, "I know why the lights went out! 'Cause they like each other!" She laughed as several siblings sighed, "Get it? Get it?"
That one was so good, it deserved a cookie." Lisa offered her a cookie with deadpan exression.
"Oh, thanks." The jokester tossed it in her mouth, "So anyway, what did one light blub say to the other?" She starts to glowing in dark to her siblings' shock.
"You're glowing!" Lincoln pointed out with dropped jaw.
"Oh." Luan blinked, "I already told you that one?"
"No, dude" Luna shook her head, "You are glowing!"
The jokester looks at herself, "Hey, wow!"
"Everyone back away from Luan." Lori ordered her siblings as they step back from the said girl, "Lisa, mom and dad said you're not allowed to use your siblings as experimental guinea pigs anymore!"
"Yeah!" The ditzy sister nodded, "Not after what you did to me!"
"Classic." Lisa sighed, "All I did was infuse the bioluminescent DNA of the Aequorea Victoria jellyfish into a cookie. I call them Gloweos. Besides, now we can see."
"Is it harmless?" Naruto asked concerning.
"Yes, no side effects…" The genius girl said before she whispers lowly to herself, "So far."
"Okay." The elder sister released her breath, "Everyone huddle around Luan." The group obeyed her.
"I always knew I was the light of your life." Luan giggled, earn some sighs and few eyerolls from her siblings.
"Okay." Lincoln looked up, "So, how about we get that power back on."
"Hey, when mom and dad are out, I'm in charge." Lori glanced around, "So first, we need to get a head count to make sure we're all here."
"Lily's sleeping upstairs in her crib." Luna informed, "I checked on her just right after the power went out."
"Okay." Lincoln counted the group, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and me, that's ten."
"You forgot me." Lucy spoke behind him, causing him to jump in air with a bloodcurdling scream before he fall down on his rear.
"…Can I go flip the circuit breaker and get the lights back on before Lucy gives me a heart attack?" The white-haired boy panted heavily.
"Again, in charge." Lori huffed, "I'll do it." She paused for a moment, "Where's this circuit breaker thingy?"
"In the basement." Naruto answered, "It's in the back."
"…Oh…L-Let's go…" The elder sister gulped before she glance to Naruto, "Naruto, you stay here with Lana and Lola. We'll take care of it."
"Sure." He nodded, he would do it but it's dangerous to walk around in dark with casts.
"C-Can I stay here too?" Leni inched closer to her same-aged brother nervously.
"Yes." Lori nodded, she know that her sister-slash-roommate have a slight fear of dark. The group departed to the basement while the small group stays behind.
"H-H-How long until the power comes back on?" Lana asked with stutter.
"Depends on the guys, it'll take few minutes or more than that." Naruto replied as Leni nervously sit down next to him, holding onto his shirt sleeve. "But it's gonna be okay because I'm here." They hear something goes bump loudly.
"W-W-What was that?!" Lola asked, startled by the noise.
"Perhaps someone trip over something." He guessed and they hear a high-pitched scream.
"Oh, no!" Leni suddenly hugged Naruto's head frighteningly, "D-D-Did Reddy Metalface get someone?!"
"R-R-Reddy Metalface?!" Lana's eyes widened in horror.
"No, that must be Lincoln getting scared by Lucy again." Naruto tried to ease his scared sisters' fears, "And Reddy Metalface is the furnace. Leni call it Reddy Metalface because it made some noise and scared her when we were about nine."
"And it has scary face that glow red like this red scary elf." The ditzy teenager gulped nervously, "What if it come up and get…"
"Relax, Leni." He soothed her, "It's not alive and bolted to the cement so it won't leave the basement. It won't get you."
"Because you're gonna protect me, right?" Leni asked nervously.
"Us too, right?!" Lola whined, jolted slightly with her twin when they hear another bump and few thuds.
"Yeah, I promise I'll protect you all from scary things." Naruto grinned and it calm them down a little bit.
"ABORT!" The foursome nearly jumped up before they spot Clyde robot dancing himself backward then out of the house with running nosebleed, "ABORT! ABORT!"
"…When did he get in here?" Lola can't help but asked, trying to registering what she just witnessed.
"Possibly Lincoln call him to come through backdoor to help him out until he saw Lori." Naruto suggested and the lights suddenly come on. "Ah, it's back on." He looked down to the twin and dizty teenager as they kept hugging him, "See? Nothing to be scared now." They nodded shakily, refuse to release their brother in case if the power goes out again any minutes. Lincoln run into the living room, snatching the remote up then turn the television on to his show.
"Wow!" The ghost hunter grinned at the camera, "That was by far the best episode of ARRGH! ever! I'd hate to be you if you missed it!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Lincoln bellowed out before he slump over, "I can't believe I missed my show…" He breaks down with heavy tears and their sisters walk on the scene.
"Oh, Lincoln…" Naruto was about to say something but someone cut him off.
"Sorry you missed your show, Lincoln." Lori gave the young boy a bowl of popcorn.
"Um, guys, I just…" The older brother tried to say something.
"But you just lived it." Luan said as she plugs her camera into TV, "Check it out." It shows some footage of Lincoln goes on his little adventure in basement as ghosthunter.
"…Guys, I recorded Lincoln's show in case if he missed it." Naruto spoke up and almost everyone froze in silence.
"You what?" The white-haired boy turned to his big brother with rapid blinks.
"I recorded your show." He repeated before his eyebrow raise up, "You know, you can pretty much record your show then watch it later when no one is using TV."
"…Wait, you can record any shows on TV?" Lincoln blinked rapidly.
"Also, I have been wondering why you don't use laptop to watch it on stream?" Naruto asked, "I mean almost all live shows are online nowadays." Almost all sisters' heads turn to stare at their young brother.
"…" The young boy smack his forehead out of embarrassment, he won't have gone through all troubles and plug the old TV in when he should have done what his brother just told him. He turn to the wall, "You know, I may have missed my show when I should have record it or watch it online…But sometimes, it's not about being there first. Sometimes, it's about being there together. All of us."
"Is he trying to weasel himself out of this one?" Lori deadpanned to her siblings.
"You forget me." Lucy spoke up behind Lincoln and everyone but Naruto jump up in air with startling screams. "Sigh."
"Naruto, can I sleep with you tonight?" Lola asked her big brother with big eyes, "I-I'm scared to sleep in my room…What if I get nightmare or the nightlight goes out?"
"Me too." Lana looked up to him, "I wanna sleep with you too."
"Sure, you two can sleep with me tonight if that's what you want." Naruto patted both twin's head with a smile.
A startled cry wake Naruto up from his slumber late at night and his head turn slightly to right side to see Lola sitting up with tears in her eyes as she glance around until her gaze land on him. "N-N-N-Naruto!" Lola threw herself on him with a sniffle.
"Lola, what's the matter?" Naruto hugged her with one arm sleepily as he glanced at several sisters to see that they were still sleeping before he looks at the princess wannabe again, "Did you have a nightmare?"
"Y-Yea…" The princess wannabe muttered into his chest with another sniffle.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asked.
"C-C-Car crash…" Lola whimpered, "B-B-But this time, you were gone…I-I-I can't find you everywhere I go…I-I-I kept looking and call for you…B-But you never come…" She start to crying.
"Oh, Lola." Naruto shushed her gently as he rock her, "It was just a nightmare. I'm still here."
"Y-Y-You won't go away?" She whispered softly.
"Nah, I won't." He shook his head lightly, rubbing her back gently.
"Promise?" Lola muttered.
"I promise I'm not going anywhere as long as you guys are still around." Naruto said and he wait for her to say something. "Lola?" He looked down to see that the princess wannabe have fall asleep before he lie back down with a whisper, "Night, lil sister." He give one last yawn before he go back to sleep. He hopes that she won't have another nightmare again because that is the third time this week.

Naruto spend most of his time on the sofa and we see that a lot of things happened in Naruto's view, even when we have seen some episodes and that there's not a lot of changes since he's stuck on the sofa. At same time, we have seen some moments between Naruto and his family and couple friends.
What's next for Naruto? Will he get off the sofa and do whatever he want or be stuck for another week or more? Will we see more moments between the family and friends? What else will we see in the next chapter? Let's find out next time!
