My Knight In Shining Armor

Chapter 16 - Masquerade

"Masquerade; seething shadows, breathing lies! Masquerade, you can fool any friend who ever knew you! Masquerade, leering satyrs, peering eyes. Masquerade, run and hide - but a face will still pursue you!" - The Phantom of the Opera, Masquerade

Serenity stood there in shock. Arranged marriages weren't official until the proposal happened, which it just did.

"Excuse me?" Diamond asked, looking impatient.

"N-No..." she replied with a shaking voice. She couldn't do this, not now, not ever. How dare he ask her this question?!

Diamonds eyes turned dark and fear arose in Serenity. He wasn't stable. If he hurt Beryl, who knows what he could do to her? She slowly backed away from him.

Diamond suddenly laughed a terrifying, deep laugh.

'Is he going crazy?!' she thought.

"Why won't you marry me?" Diamond asked.

"Because, I don't love you..." Serenity said quietly.

"I've told you many times, love doesn't matter for people like us!" he stormed towards her and grabbed her shoulders, causing her to yelp in surprise.

Serenity's body went rigid. She didn't know what to do. Diamond was much stronger than her, and there would be no way she could run away.

"Diamond... C-Calm down, I know you're feeling stressed because of Beryl bu-"

"Beryl!" Diamond said as he scoffed. He backed away from her running his fingers through his hair.

"Did you really . . . hit her?" Serenity asked timidly.

"I was and I'm still upset. I wish that it didn't come to that but it's her fault, why do I have to have the possibility of her ruining my reputation?"

Serenity looked at him in shock.

"It takes two to tango, Diamond. You're just as much a part of this as she is," she explained.

"That child is not mine, who knows whose child it could be? There is no proof!" he exclaimed.

"So you're just going to ignore it?!" Serenity practically yelled.

"Like I said, I will not accept that child."

"How could you be so heartless? You know it's your child and you're just going to leave her? Do you know what it looks like when an unmarried woman becomes pregnant? She'll be shamed and exiled. You have to accept her!"

"If I do that, then I ruin everything I have worked so hard for. I'm not about to let her come in and ruin me."

Serenity couldn't believe he was so selfish. Rage boiled inside of her.

"Get out," she said through clenched teeth.

They stared at each other for several moments before Diamond spoke up.

"Very well, Princess. I shall see you at the ball," he said, seeming to return to his cocky and pompous self as he walked out of the room.

Beryl emerged from the bathroom, her face in shock.

Serenity looked over and felt bad.

"Beryl, I-I'm so sor-"

"It's fine. I was a fool to think that a man like him would care. I should go," the young woman said, trying to hide her emotions as she left the room.

Serenity stood there in shock. She knew she didn't have to help Beryl - why should she? She could easily wash her hands of this and be done with it, but she couldn't just let Diamond continue to be this way. No woman deserved to be treated in the way Beryl had been. Serenity had to do something. It was her duty.

She shook those thoughts out of her head and began to get dressed. A masquerade ball would certainly take her mind off of this, even if she hated balls.

A knock was on her door and Lita came bouncing in.

"Serenity, I know how much you loved our plan for getting back at Diamond so w-"

"No. I don't want you to do that anymore," she responded.

"Why not?" Lita said, before plopping down on her bed.

"Diamond is very selfish. He'll do anything to fix whatever you all will cause and he'll want to figure out who spread the rumors. I don't want any of you getting hurt, therefore I don't want you to go through with this," Serenity said blankly.

"Did something happen, Serenity?" Lita became very concerned.

"No, I just don't want you all involved in this."

Lita knew something was up, but she decided not to press the subject.

"Alright, if that's what you want," she said before getting up to walk to the door. "I should start to get ready; I'll see you at the ball." Lita left the room and Serenity was alone with her thoughts once more.

She was almost afraid of Diamond at this point. She couldn't tell anyone what he had done to Beryl, because then the truth would come out. She especially couldn't tell Endymion - who knew how furious and paranoid he would be over anything happening to her?

She took a deep breath and went into her bathroom to proceed getting ready.

The ball was in full swing by the time Serenity arrived. She looked around the decorated ballroom to see everyone in a mask, which wasn't surprising. No one knew exactly who was who but she could still pick out the nobles from one another. She laughed to herself silently and walked into the ballroom.

"Hello, princess," a voice from behind her spoke.

Serenity twirled around and saw Endymion behind her. He had a white mask on to avoid being detected.

"You kept your promise," she said with a smile on her face.

"Of course I did," he held out his hand for her and bowed. "May I have this dance?"

"Of course." Serenity smiled as she curtsied, taking her forbidden lover's hand.

Serenity was content in the arms of her knight. She was quiet, enjoying the brief moment she had with him. From the distance, the princess spotted Beryl standing off to the side. She covered up the bruise on her face, making only noticeable to the point where you wouldn't see it unless you were looking for it. Serenity felt a pang in her heart. Despite Beryl's despicable deeds and her bad attitude, no woman deserved to feel the pain she did.

"What's wrong?" Endymion said, noticing her distress.

"Nothing," she responded, plastering a smile on her face.

"You can't lie to me," he said back, knowing something was wrong.

"I'm alright, I promise." She wasn't necessarily lying to him - after all, she hadn't been the one to get abused.

Endymion still felt like something was off, but didn't question it any further.

"I wish it could stay like this . . ." Serenity said, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"As do I," Endymion said softly. He pulled Serenity closer, his hands warm on her body as the danced.

"You have no idea how bad I want to kiss you right now," Endymion whispered.

Serenity looked up at him, a blush forming on her cheeks.

"Then do it," she challenged.

"Not in the middle of a ball where everyone can see, your grace," Endymion chuckled.

Serenity suddenly had an idea. "Follow me, but not too close to where people will notice," she said, walking away leaving him there.

Endymion looked at her skeptically but went along with what she said.

Serenity knew that there were many rooms in the palace and at least one of them stayed empty most of the time. She walked up the stairs and decided to choose a random closet where servants kept the cleaning supplies. She waited a couple of moment before the door opened, revealing her beloved.

"A supply closet?"

"Who is going to come in here during a ball at this time of night?" Serenity giggled, pulling him into the small space.

Endymion couldn't help but smile at her. He brought her into his arms and kissed her passionately.

Serenity melted into the kiss as she wrapped her arms around him, tangling her fingers in his dark hair. He backed her into the door and put his hands on her lower back, pulling her closer and causing Serenity to moan softly. She felt him lift her up, and she put her legs around his waist, deepening the kiss. Endymion moved his lips to her collarbone, to her neck, quickly moving the sleeves of her dress down her shoulders to give him access to the porcelain skin.

Serenity tried to stay quiet as she felt the way she did on the night of Larissa's wedding. All of her senses became heightened, and the only thing that she wanted and could focus on was Endymion.

Endymion, realizing how fast the situation became heated, pulled away from her.

"No," Serenity whined in protest, pulling him back to her.

"As much as I would love to continue, we can't do this in a supply closet," Endymion told her, an amused tone to his voice.

Serenity pouted as Endymion set her back onto the ground. "I guess you're right," she said quietly, adjusting her dress and making herself look presentable.

Endymion smiled and kissed her forehead. "I love you," he said, cupping the side of her face in his palm.

"I love you too," Serenity sighed.

He moved a lock of her hair from her face and smiled. "I don't want to leave either," he told her as he pulled her to him once more, seeming to read her mind.

"Then don't."

"You have to go back."

"I don't know when I'll see you again..." she whimpered, fear gripping her heart.

"I will always find a way back to you," he told her sternly.

His words calmed Serenity and made her feel better. She quickly pecked him on the lips.

"Now, you have to go before your father gets suspicious, I'll give you time to get back so no one notices."

"Alright," Serenity said somberly. She exited the closet and quickly walked back to the ballroom.

She saw her father about to exit and approached him confidently.

"Hello, Father."

"Serenity, where have you been?" the king demanded.

"I was with my friends for most of the time. Mina had a mishap with her dress and refused to come to the ball, you know how dramatic she is. So I had to lend her one of my dresses so she would come. It took her forever to pick the one she wanted," Serenity said, hoping that made sense and that her father would buy it.

"You've been with your friends the entire time?"

"Yes, I just got here," she half-lied.

"Diamond has been looking everywhere for you, you should tell him that you're here now."

"Of course."

King Aegean's Point of View

King Aegean and Queen Serenity were talking with some of the well-respected nobles of the kingdom when one asked the question of when Serenity would be engaged.

"That should happen very soon, sooner than you would think," King Aegean said with a determined look on his face.

Queen Serenity sustained her look of disapproval toward her husband and chose to stay silent by his side. There was no need to cause uproar.

The two finished their round around the ballroom and walked toward their thrones.

As they were sitting down, Queen Serenity spoke up:

"You know you can't just force her into this? She clearly doesn't want it."

"What do you mean? She's been with Diamond a good portion of the night; she's starting to let up."

At that moment, Diamond walked up to the King and Queen.

"Your highness, have you seen Serenity?" Diamond asked, feeling annoyed she hasn't been with him all night.

The King did his best to hide his confusion with Diamond standing before him and not with Serenity.

Diamond, noticing something was amiss, scanned the room once more, not seeing Serenity anywhere.

"She was near the balcony a few moments ago; I'm assuming that she left..." The King said, disapproval and disappointment dripping from his voice. "Weren't you just with her?"

"No, your highness, I have not seen her all night," Diamond said.

The King felt frustration brewing through him. He immediately got up from his throne, regained his composure, and began to walk to the balcony.

Queen Serenity got up and followed as well.

"Aegean, relax. I'm sure she's here. She most likely just went to the ladies room," the queen said, stopping her husband and hoping her daughter would show up soon.

"That could very much be a possibility, but when Serenity does disappear like this, chances are she's roaming about the kingdom by now." The king turned around and saw his daughter behind him.

"Hello, Father," Serenity said, acting as if she had done nothing wrong.

"Serenity, where have you been all night?" he asked, waiting to hear her excuse for this.

"I was with my friends for most of the time. Mina had a mishap with her dress and refused to come to the ball, you know how dramatic she is. So I had to lend her one of my dresses so she would come. It took her forever to pick the one she wanted," Serenity said.

"You've been with your friends the entire time?"

"Yes, I just got here."

'She just lied to me,' Aegean thought.

Deciding to drop the subject until a later time, he changed the topic.

"Diamond has been looking everywhere for you, you should tell him that you're here now," Aegean said.

"Of course," Serenity replied as she walked away.

"I told you that you had nothing to worry about, darling," Queen Serenity said with a smile.

The King plastered a smile on his face and proceeded back to the thrones.

Serenity's Point of View

Instead of finding Diamond like her father requested she do, Serenity went outside to the balcony to give her some time to recollect herself.

She had a clear view of the Earth and was completely mesmerized by it. She thought of how amazing it must be there.

"Endy still has to take me..." she thought to herself with a smile.

Just thinking about Endymion brought much joy to her. She thought of the future that she could have with him if things were to go her way. They would be happy with each other, with no obligations placed on either of them.

"Serenity," Diamond said as he walked over to her.

She had a sour look on her face before turning around to face him.

"Yes?" she asked, not trying to hide the annoyance in her voice.

"Where exactly have you been all night?"

Serenity moved away from him, not wanting to be anywhere near him.

"I was helping Mina find a dress since she messed hers up."

"Well, I saw Mina and she wasn't wearing a dress that looked like one of yours."

"Have you memorized my closet, Diamond?"

"Funny," he said coldly.

Serenity frowned.

"You can't keep lying just to get what you want," he said suddenly.

"And you can't keep avoiding your responsibilities," Serenity shot back.

'I'm not the only one that's doing it. You seem to think that I'm this terrible person when in all actuality, you are just like me."

"I am nothing like you, Diamond. Don't even try to compare us."

"Oh, I'm going to compare us, because it seems like you need to hear it. While you think it's terrible of me to have had an affair with your lady-in-waiting, you've been having an affair with a knight. You seem to think it's an atrocity that I refuse to accept the child because I want to protect myself and my reputation, yet you're doing the exact same thing by constantly lying about what you're truly up to to protect yourself," Diamond explained, a strange smirk on his face.

"I'm not lying only to protect myself, I'm doing it fo-"

"Yes, you're doing it to protect him as well, but how do you suppose this situation is going to end? Have you thought of a future you could possibly have with him? It will not work. Eventually, your father is going to figure out the truth. I won't tell him because I told you I wouldn't and believe it or not, I am a man of my word. But he's going to figure it all out and I can guarantee that it won't end well for your pretty boy."

Serenity felt tears spring to her eyes, but quickly held them back. She knew what Diamond was saying was true, but she refused to admit it to him.

"What are the options for you both when the king finds out? Well, your knight is either going to be banished, tortured, or executed. It depends on how furious your father is. But either way, in the end, you will be mine, and mine only."

Diamond left, leaving Serenity with a sick feeling in her stomach. The princess stood there, taking in his words. She knew how right he was. This affair was only going to end badly, but she couldn't bring herself to end it. Endymion was all that she ever wanted; she couldn't bear to be away from him. She walked back into the ballroom and stood there alone in the sea of people. Again, she had the urge to run but she couldn't. She had to stay in a palace with people she didn't want to stay with. She felt as though her life was a constant battle of being happy and feeling the urge to run away. The only true moment of happiness she had were when she was with Endymion, and those would end eventually.

"Serenity," a soft voice beside her spoke up.

She turned and saw her best friends beside her.

They all knew something was wrong with their princess, and knew that they had to help.

"Come on," Mina said before taking Serenity's hand and guiding her out into the courtyard.

Serenity immediately dropped into a soft spot on the grass. She lay on her back and gazed out into the stars. Was her destiny written write in front of her?

"Your mother won't like that you're sitting on the grass in your dress," Amy stated.

"I don't care," Serenity responded.

The girls exchanged looks before sitting down beside her.

"Okay, now what's wrong?" Raye asked.

"I-I'm not like Diamond, am I?" the distraught princess asked.

"What?! Of course not, why would you say that?!" Mina said, her eyes wide in surprise.

"Because," Serenity sat up and thought of the correct words to say. "I'm selfish. I've always known deep down that eventually, Endymion and I would get caught and it won't end well at all. Yet I still continue this, putting his life in danger..."

"Endymion knows of the consequences as well, but he still chooses to be with you. I think it just might be something that's going to happen, and the two of you love each other so much that it can't really be prevented," Lita explained.

"And who knows for sure his life is in danger? Your father might not be that upset," Mina said.

"That's false hope for sure," Serenity grumbled.

"Well there has to be another way. I'm sure this is being blown into epic proportions and that everything will be alright," Rei added.

"You had a hospital and an orphanage built Serenity, you are nothing like Diamond," Amy told her.

"I guess you're right," Serenity responded.

"No, I'm right for a fact."

Serenity smiled at her friends. They're attempt at making her feel better wasn't completely in vain.

"Could we maybe go inside now? It's freezing," Raye said, not liking the cold at all.

Serenity nodded and stood up. They all walked back in the ballroom and continued to mingle and dance.

Serenity put on her best fake smile and carried on for the night.

Serenity went back to her room after the ball was over, exhausted. She opened her door to see Endymion standing there. An immediate smile appeared on her face as she locked her bedroom door and went over to him. She wrapped her arms around him.

"What are you doing here?" Serenity asked.

"I had to find my way back to you," he responded sweetly.

Serenity smiled and closed the distance between their lips. Instantly, the temperature in the room increased as the two lovers locked in a heated embrace. Endymion's hands roamed Serenity's body, running down her arms, back and through her hair. In one fluid motion, he scooped her into his arms, causing a small squeal to escape her lips. With a low chuckle, Endymion laid Serenity onto her large bed and crawled on top of her, pressing their lips together in another heated kiss. Their tongues battled for dominance, until finally Endymion emerged victorious. Serenity moaned in pleasure as his warm hands began to travel up her arms, sliding down her sleeves for the second time that night. Smirking at the effect he had on his princess, Endymion began to leave a trail of kisses down Serenity's neck and collarbone, stopping to give her a love bite on one shoulder. She moaned again, arching her back to give him access to the zipper on her dress. Without hesitation, Endymion undid the zipper and assisted Serenity in removing the dress from her thin figure. The cool air of the moon touched Serenity's pale skin and she trembled as goose bumps appeared on her body.

"So beautiful," Endymion whispered, diving back down to plant gentle kisses on her chest and shoulders. Serenity suddenly felt an urge of boldness, and she used what little strength she had to flip them over so that she was on top, straddling her beloved. He raised an eyebrow her and she grinned, hurriedly peeling off his jacket and unbuttoning the white shirt beneath. His chest was just as chiseled and remarkable as she remembered, and with a giggle she began to trace the lines of his muscles with her fingertips. Her cool touch sent a shudder down Endymion's spine, but he refused to show that to his princess. He assisted Serenity in removing his pants, and soon both of them were in just their undergarments. Serenity leaned down and kissed Endymion again, this time winning the battle as her tongue slipped into his mouth.

Serenity shuddered as Endymion's hands cupped her breasts, relishing in the pleasure of his touch. "Endy...I love you..." she whispered, causing him to smile.

He found his way back to her, that was certain.

Serenity woke up the next morning to find Endymion still asleep beside her. She smiled and gazed at him, feeling happy.

'Did I really just do that? In the palace?' she thought to herself.

It was a little after dawn, and the sun was beginning to rise. Serenity couldn't bring herself to go back to sleep. She got comfortable in her beloved's arms and waited for him to wake.

Was this going too far? Being with a man she wasn't married to in her bed chambers? How would her father react? The nervousness plagued her before she felt Endymion move, bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Good morning," she said, looking up at him.

"Good morning," he mumbled, leaning down to give her a peck on the lips.

Serenity smiled and moved closer to him, not wanting him to leave just yet.

"Are you alright?" he asked, soothingly caressing her arm.

"I'm fine."

"No, you're not. What are you thinking about?"

She thought of her words for a while before she spoke up:

"I'm terrified. I don't want us to get caught and I don't want anything to happen to you, because I don't think I could bear it if something did happen just because my father doesn't like the idea of me not doing everything he wants me to," she blurted.

"Nothing will happen to me, I'll be fine. We won't get caught," Endymion said, trying to convince himself more than her.

"I-I know it seems crazy, but it still worries me..."

"You shouldn't be worried." Endymion kissed her forehead. "It will all be okay."

Serenity wanted to believe him, but she knew something would happen that would cause this bliss to end.

"You're right. Everything will be fine," she lied.

They lay there in silence for a few short moments before Endymion spoke up.

"I should be going now," he said reluctantly. With a groan, the knight got up and put on his clothes, carelessly running his fingers through his hair.

Serenity felt a frown form on her face and got out of bed with her blanket wrapped around her. Endymion laughed at her actions and walked over to her, cupping her face.

"You're so gorgeous," he said before kissing her. "I love you."

"I love you too," Serenity whispered.

He kissed her hand and walked toward the balcony. "I'll see you soon, I promise." Endymion gave his beloved a short parting wave before disappearing off the balcony.

Serenity sighed loudly before searching for her nightgown. She pulled it on over her head and went over to her door to unlock it so there would be no suspicions if someone tried to enter.

She plopped back down in her bed and immediately felt alone. Her bed felt empty and cold without Endymion beside her. She didn't know how much longer this would last but she desperately hoped that it wouldn't end badly. Eventually she dozed off, dreaming of Endymion.

Serenity woke up to the sun shining in her face feeling tired and groggy. She rolled over to see her sister sitting at her vanity.

"Larissa?" she asked, confused as to why her sister was there.

"Goodness you sleep late, I was wondering when you would wake up," Larissa stated.

Serenity analyzed her surroundings, feeling confused. Endymion left after dawn, they wouldn't be caught, everything was okay. How much longer would she be paranoid like this?

"Serenity?" Larissa asked, knowing something was wrong.

"What are you doing here?" Serenity replied.

"I don't get a 'Hey Larissa, how are you?'"

"I'm sorry, I'm just...confused."

"Well, to answer your question, I'm here to visit before Enceladus and I return to Venus." The older sister got up and sat on Serenity's bed.

"I'm glad you're here. I missed you."

"Well, I can see things haven't changed for you," Larissa remarked.

"What do you mean?"

"The ring that's on your necklace?"

Serenity immediately looked down and realized it wasn't hidden.

"I'm assuming that it's an engagement ring. I'm also assuming that it's not from Diamond."

"Not exactly. . ." Serenity looked down in embarrassment.

"Serenity, I told you that nothing good will come out of this! Why won't you listen? And don't think for a second I believe that you left my wedding because you were "too distraught" with the idea of me leaving. Tell me the truth - you owe me at least that."

"I-I went with Endymion," Serenity stated silently.

"Went with him where?"

"To his home."

"Just the two of you?"

"Yes..." Serenity silently prayed that the questions would stop.

"You were alone, overnight, with a knight? Please tell me all you did was sleep." The married woman rubbed her temples, closing her eyes and bracing herself for what she already knew was coming.

Serenity immediately blushed a crimson red and looked away from her sister.

"Serenity! You've gone too far, I can't let you ruin your life like this!" Larissa yelled, standing up and moving towards the door.

Serenity's heart began to race, and she sprang to the door and stood in front of it.

"You can't say anything!" Serenity almost yelled, her eyes big and wild.

"And why not? I'm not going to just stand by and watch you throw away everything Father has worked for!"

"Because you promised me that you wouldn't! Please don't say anything, I-I'm alright, I promise. I'm more than alright, I'm actually happy, please don't take that away from me," Serenity begged her sister.

The two sisters had a stare-off, before finally Larissa sighed and went to sit back down at the vanity.

Serenity slowly went to sit at the bench on the end of her bed, ready to run back to block the door if necessary.

"I-I know why you're worried but you really have no reason to be, I really am happy, I promise," she said, hoping her sister will believe her.

"What forced you to leave the wedding like that?" Larissa asked.

"Diamond. He told me that if I didn't stay away from Endymion, he would tell Father. I got upset so I left and Endymion found me. So we both left. I'm sorry that I left your wedding. That was very selfish of me..."

"I forgive you. I just want you to be safe. You're my sister."

"I am safe, Endymion would never hurt me."

"I hope you're right," Larissa said. "What about your other engagement?"

"I-I don't want to marry Diamond," Serenity stated. "I-I know that I have to and that it's my duty, I just really don't want to." Distraught, the young princess stood and walked into her bathroom, gazing at herself in the mirror as Larissa entered behind her.

"You can't avoid it. Father will make you marry Diamond."

"I know..."

"I'll be in the dining room. Father wants us all to have breakfast," Larissa suddenly said, after a moment of silence.

"I'll be there soon," Serenity said back. With a sigh, she removed the necklace from around her neck and placed it gently into a drawer. She felt naked without it, but knew the fate of Endymion and herself would be safer if it was not around her neck.

She stood there looking at herself in the mirror. Was this how it was going to be? Hiding everything she felt about him? She didn't know if she could live that way. She didn't want to hide her feelings.

Suddenly, Luna walked into the bathroom.

"Where have you been all night?" Serenity asked, realizing she hadn't seen her cat since the previous day.

"Artemis and I were with your parents. They were discussing things with the nobles. Serenity, I know you don't want to marry Diamond, but your father is already discussing it with them," Luna said, carefully waiting for her reaction.

Serenity spun around quickly, looking at her cat.

"What? H-He can't! Not now, not - I - no..." Serenity sank to the floor in the middle of her bathroom and put her head in her hands.

"You knew that this was coming. It's your duty, Serenity. You have to give up everything you want for the Kingdom." Luna told her.

The princess merely sat there and cried into her hands, unable to really come to terms with the fact that her marriage to Diamond was now official.

"I want you to be happy, but you're the only heir left. You have to do this," Luna said, a sad tone to her voice.

"I just want to have a normal life with Endymion. That's all I want. I just want to marry him and be with him forever, is that so bad? Is the universe going to collapse because of that?"

"Your father thinks it will, I'm sorry," Luna said.

Serenity sat there and thought for a moment.

"I can't be with him anymore . . ."

Luna looked up at her, confused.

"I want to; I just care about his safety more. Who knows what my father will do if - no, when, he finds out because he will find out. He could execute him or worse and I-I can't let that happen to him. . ."

"What are you saying?"

"I have to tell him we can't be together; I have to tell him we can't see each other, no matter how bad I want to be with him . . ."

Serenity didn't want to do this. In fact, it was the last thing she wanted to do, but she knew that she had to.

"It's for his safety."

Standing up, Serenity took a deep breath to prepare herself for the future.

"Are you sure, Serenity?" Luna asked, concerned.

"What can I do? I can't risk him getting hurt! I can't let anything happen to him just because I'm selfish and stubborn!"

"Will he listen to that? Will he be alright with that?" Luna asked.

"I have no choice . . . he has to be alright with it."

She quickly bathed and got ready for the day.

She had no desire to go to breakfast with her entire family, it never ended well.

Can they ever catch a break? Hopefully so. Thank you once again for reading!
