Wee Angels and Fish

Sun beams poked through the cracks in the curtain in Dean's room. The Winchester groaned, tossing his head in the direction in attempt to keep the sun out of his eyes. Something soft brushed against his nose and a smirk slowly spread over the hunter's sleeping face. He'd recognize that soft brush anywhere. Opening his eyes slowly, Dean woke up to feathers tickling his nose. He chuckled, opening his eyes fully to be greeted by three sleeping angels. Correction, three sleeping baby angels. Dean shot up in surprise, startling the angels awake.

"The hell, Dean-o?!" Gabriel grumbled wings stretching out before he snuggled back into the blankets. Dean pointed at the three of them, eyes wide and speechless.

"You…you're babies again," Dean stuttered. The angels looked down at themselves, eyes going wide. Once again they looked around 3 to 4 years of age and their wings had shrunk down to fluffy little plumages sticking out from their backs. Their clothes were hanging loosely from their bodies, too big for them now. Balthazar rolled his eyes, glaring at his tiny body.

"Wells, isn't dis just perfects," he grumbled. Castiel pouted slightly, poking at his fluffy baby feathers.

"My fwight feathers are gones!" he pouted, looking at me with the saddest puppy dog look I've seen since the first time they became babies.

"Come on, angels, better tell the others," Dean sighed, pulling off their baggy clothing and wrapping them each in Castiel's too big trench coat and carrying them downstairs to the sitting room.

"Morning you- holy hobbits!" Charlie yelped as Dean walked into the sitting room with three wee angels. Everyone stared at the baby angels and all three clung to Dean slightly, nervous from the amount of eyes now on them. Dean noticed this and started to rock them while petting their feathers lightly. "Well, looks like you three are going to need some clothes," Charlie stated, digging in the closet attached to the sitting room and pulling out the angels' footy pajamas. Charlie lifted Balthazar out of Dean's hands handing the hunter Cas' pajamas and Kevin took Gabe. When the angels were fully dressed the group sat down on the couch and stroked the angels' wings.

"Well, now what?" Sam questions, playing with Gabriel's feet as the angle sits contently on Kevin's lap. The angel squealed with laughter as his pajama covered feet were tickled. A smile spread over everyone's faces, realizing how much they missed the laughter of the sweet angels.

"How about a trip to the Aquarium? I bet these little cuties are itching to get out of the house anyways," Charlie said with a smile.

"Sounds good to me. How about the one in Chicago? I heard it's pretty awesome," Dean hummed while folding up Castiel's trench coat to make it easier for the angel to carry. Castiel wasn't patient though and pulled the trench coat over his face. Dean chuckled, pulling the coat away from the angel's face and tickling Castiel's neck. The angel giggle and jumped up and down on Dean's lap.

"Aquaworm! Aquaworm!" he squeaked excitedly and wings flapping gently with each leap. Dean held out his hands, just in case the angel ended up bouncing off his lap and smirked at the baby angel.

"Want to see the Aquarium that bad huh, Cas?" Dean asked. The angel nodded and his brothers followed closely after. "Well, let's get going then."

The line for the Chicago Museum was way longer than what they all expected when they got there. Seriously, the freaking thing wrapped around the block! The angels kept themselves occupied as Sam, Dean, Bobby, Kevin, and Charlie stood in line by chasing after the pigeons searching for stray French fries.

"Dwean, looks!" the angels shouted as he ran over to a man playing a saxophone on a nearby bench. By his feet sat the case for the instrument and a few quarters and dollars sat inside. At the sound of giggling children the blind man picked up the beat and stood from the bench, dancing as he played. The angles danced around with him, spinning each other and pretending to play a sax just like the old man. A crowed started to surround the three and a few more dollars floated down into the old man's case. When the song finally ended the old man and the angels bowed as the crowd clapped.

"Thanks, angels," the old man chuckled as the crowd dispersed and he sat back down on the bench. The angels stared at the man in confusion and he smiled, pulling away his glasses to reveal his blind eyes. "You take care," he whispered, starting to play a slower song. The smiles returned to the angels' faces and they gave him a wave before scurrying away to chase after the pigeons again.

When they finally got in after waiting in line longer than they had hoped the angels rushed over to the glass walls, staring in awe at the colorful fish. The others watched as the angels pointed to each fish and named it. A few were mispronounced, but they got each one right according to the signs outside the glass indicating each fish. Dean stretched his arms and glanced around the aquarium, frowning at the line leading to something called the Jellies. Why would you stand in line to see freaking jelly fish? They can't be that exciting. The food court is understandable, but jelly fish? No way.

"Dwean! Dwean, look at the fishes!" Cas squealed as a clown fish swam up to the glass that the angels had their faces squashed to. Dean kneeled down between the angels and stared at the little clown fish.

"Is it Nemo?" Balthazar asked, tapping his finger against the glass gently.

"Could be," Dean said with a shrug. "Come on, Angels, let's see some more," Dean said, taking the angels' hands in his and leading them towards another exhibit, not noticing the clown fish following them.

"Sea Horsies!" Castiel yelped after just taking a few steps, pointing at a family of sea horse hanging on a underwater plant. Several bright blue fish swam over to the group as they stopped to look at the sea horses and the clown fish from before swam over too.

"LOOK! Gabe shouted, pointing at the many fish now surrounding the spot where the angels were standing.

"Holy mother of Pearl," Kevin gasped, staring at the thousands of fish. Charlie jabbed the prophet in the ribs.

"Ha! Nice one, Kev!" Charlie chuckled and then tapped at the glass. "Any ideas on what's happening here, Angels?" she asked the three angels.

"Fishes are almost older than most things on Earth," Balthazar said, grinning at a little clown fish.

"You're saying that the fish recognize you? That they somehow can sense that you're angels?" Sam questions, lifting Gabriel off the floor and setting the angel on his shoulders so he could see a large yellow fish closer to the top of the tank.

"Yeps!" the angels all shout, smiling at the colorful fish. Dean glanced around, noticing that some people were staring at them now. He wondered what they were thinking. Probably nothing good.

"Uh, can you guys tell your fish friends to talk later? We're starting to get some unwanted attention," Dean whispered, nodding at the people gathering around. The angels nod, looking up at the fish through the clear glass. A moment of silence passes, and soon the fish slowly begin to swim away.

"Well, looks like fish sticks are off our lunch list," Bobby grumbled as the fish disappeared and the group began walking again.

"And the zoo," Dean added, shivering at the thought of what the animals would do if they sensed the angels like the fish had. Last thing he needed was a monkey to pull the angels through the cage bars and teach the angels to swing on trees. The angels eyes widened at the mention of the zoo and Dean cursed himself for even opening his fat mouth.

"We wants to goes to the zoo later!" they yelled, tugging on Dean and Sam's jackets.

"Uh, no way, Dudes," Dean said, putting his foot down for once. Sam gave him a look of approval. He was probably just glad he didn't have to be the protective mother this time. The angels each stuck out their bottom lips and rocked on their heels. Damn. He had completely forgotten how persuasive the angels could be.

"Please," they all whined and Dean's stomach clenched. Damn it. Dean tried to look away, but the angels just tilted their heads to the side and widened their eyes. The hunter cleared his throat, opening his mouth to comment, but Sam nudged him in the ribs.

"No," Dean forced out, looking at the angels sternly. The angels frowned, turning their gazes to Charlie and Kevin.

"Please," the angels repeated.

"Sure, why not?" the two blurted and Dean slapped his forehead as the angels cheered excitedly. The angels ran towards the jelly fish line and the group each held in moan. Why couldn't the angels go to the exhibits without lines?

"Hurries up!" the angels shouted as they sat down on the floor in line and began to play patty-cake with each other.

"Those three will be the ones to finally drive us insane," Sam mumbled, running a hand through his hair as the stepped into line. Bobby let out a huff and waved at the three little angels currently playing.

"I think they've accomplished that already, Boy."

"Touché," Sam answered back, looking at the crowd of people standing in front of us. Charlie chuckled at them, nudging the hunters each with a finger.

"They're cute though and you love 'em. Admit it," she chuckled. Dean eyed the angels as they played their game, somehow they had pulled Kevin into it, forcing him to play patty-cake too. He thought about the first few days with the angels and how they had been trying so hard to find a way to change them back. Now, they only do if they're bored or have nothing else to do. They all know that they need to find a way, but it's not like they couldn't have some fun with each other first before going back to their normal demon hunting ways right?

"Let's play!" Gabriel shouted, pulling at Sam's pants leg and Cas did the same with Charlie and Dean. The three sat down without arguing with the angels, playing patty-cake with each angel while Bobby focused on keeping them in line.

The wee angels are back! Hurray! Thank you Katie Shimkus for the request. Has anyone else been to the Aquarium in Chicago? That place can get really freaking packed some days and the lines are insane! Especially the jelly fish exhibit. Thanks for reading today's chapter!
