Zoo
Though they didn't get the chance in Chicago the angels made sure that they would get their chance to visit the zoo one way or another. When passing through San Diego, California there was no escaping it when the angels spotted a big green sign saying Safari Zoo. The safari park wasn't like most zoos. Sure, it had animals and food stands, but they also had performers that sang and did acrobatics. There were also trains and other vehicles guests could ride on like they were on a real safari. The angels obviously wanted to ride one of the trains so the group gathered onto a bright yellow train filled with only a handful of people. Still, maybe being on a train would keep the angels from collecting a herd of animals like they had at the aquarium in Chicago.
"Look! A giraffe!" Cas squealed, pointing excitedly at the long necked creature.
"And a baby!" Balthy shouted as a smaller giraffe stepped out from behind his mommy. The train stopped as the giraffes grew closer and a few kids on the train scurried to the window excitedly. The baby giraffe snorted softly, sticking his head through the window a little. The angel giggled at the baby giraffe as it bobbed its head and snorted at them. Dean had to admit that it was kind of cute. The critter stuck its head farther in and Cas (being the trouble maker he is) climbed up on top of the giraffes neck and the animal pulled its head out of the window, taking the angel with him. Dean and Sam cried out, reaching for the little angel, but he was already too far away from the train. Castiel laughed as he rode the animal. Before they knew it Gabe and Balthy were crawling onto the baby giraffe and following their brother out into the watering hole created by the zoo.
"Sirs, please stay in your seat!" the guide shouted as he finally realized what was going on when he noticed the Winchesters jumping through the back exit. The crowd of people on the train bustled closer to the windows, snapping pictures of the crazy family. Bobby simply napped in his seat, unknowing of what was happening around him.
"Damn it! Can you three not attract a crowd of trouble just for once?" Dean snarled as he chased after the angels with Sam close behind. Animals had started to surround the two giraffes now and it looked like the angels were talking to beasts. Cas swung on the giraffe's neck like a little monkey, wings fluttering as he flung himself off of the animal. Dean lunged forward grabbing the angel before he could fall onto the floor or into an alligator's mouth. The angel may be getting better at flying, but he still has to master the concept of something more than just fluttering or hovering. Cas pouted at Dean for disrupting his attempt at flight, but completely forgot when a tiny cheetah cub walked over to him and started to but it's head against his soft feathers. Feathers. Dean glanced at the train, glad that he was at least obscuring the fact that the wings were coming from Cas. Gently Dean pushed Cas' wings back under the trench coat and gently patted the cheetah cubs head before pulling Cas away from it. Dean's eyes scrolled to Sam, who was currently trying to get the angels off the baby giraffe.
"Dwean! Dwean! Look at the pretty penguin!" Cas screeched. Dean glanced at the colorful bird now approaching them and failed at his attempt to hold back a laugh.
"That's a peacock, Cas," Dean chuckled. Cas tilted his head to the side, mouthing the word a few times before shaking his head.
"Nah, dat's too hard to say," the angel decided. Dean just rolled his eyes and watched as the peacock sat down next Cas and started cooing. Cas smiled widely at the bird and stuck his tongue out at Dean.
"He says I cans calls him a penguin if I want," Cas said smugly. Dean pouted at the angel and mouthed 'kiss ass' at the peacock before hearing a loud splash from behind. He and Cas turned in time to see Sam sitting in the middle of the waterhole with Balthazar and Gabriel sitting in a tree with four big Orangutans, laughing their hearts out.
"Looks like you're the little monkey that fell on his head, huh, Sammy?" Dean teased as his brother spat out muddy water and glared at the angels in the tree.
"You could help you know!" Sam shouted, chuckling a ball of mud at his older brother. Dean ducked out of the way and the mud splattered against a warthog that didn't really seem to mind the mud smacking into his face. Dean rose a brow at his brother, which was met with a bitch face and the older hunter finally gave in.
"Hey, angels…"
"Can't catch us!" Balthazar and Gabriel screeched flying up into the air and disappearing in a flock of vibrant colored birds. Dean swore, searching for the shimmer of golden and silver wings, keeping one hand on Castiel just in case the troublesome angel decided to fly up after his brothers.
"Over there!" Sam shouted, pointing at a big grey elephant a few feet away. Cradled gently in the animal's trunk sat both giggly angels. Dean's eyes bugged out of his head and he shook his head frantically.
"No way am I going to risk getting squished by that thing!"
"But, we have to get them back to the train, Dean!" Sam shouted at his brother.
"Come on, Angels. Let's get back on the train so we can meet up with Kevin and Charlie," Dean shouted up at the angels currently swinging in the trunk. The angels didn't answer and Dean resorted to bribery. "We can get ice cream."
"Icy creamy!" all three angels screeched.
"Dean, you can't just bribe them!" Sam shouted, pushing himself out of the water and jamming a finger into Dean's chest. Dean glared at the assaulting finger and shrugged.
"Oh, calm down, Mother hen, it worked didn't it?" Dean questioned, waving a hand at the angels now running back towards the train. Sam let out a huff, but before he could argue Dean was already on his way back to the train as well.
"Well, let's get back to the tour!" the tour guide shouted through his microphone once everyone was back in place. The train jerked into a start and Bobby startled awake, looking around wildly. His eyes fell on to a very muddy and sopping wet Sam. His eyes trailed over to the group of animals roaring and calling out after the train like they were saying, goodbye. He shook his head, pushing his hat over his face.
"I don't want to know," was all he muttered before dropping back to sleep.
Yikes! Sorry for not uploading guys. The internet at my house is dead and it's killing me! The only reason I'm posting is because I'm at my grandparent's house. Thank you kjboulware and KatieShimkus and everyone else for the zoo requests. I've been writing a lot more with the lack of internet to distract me. It's just the matter of being able to post anything. Hopefully my internet will be back up soon.
