SPN Convention
This was by far Charlie's best idea ever. Well, in her opinion. The geek goddess squealed with delight as she dragged Sam, Dean, and the angels towards the convention center. Becky had sent her a message the other day saying that they were holding a Supernatural Convention again to celebrate the new series Chuck was writing. The first copies apparently are being released today. Dean and Sam of course were 100% against watching people make fun of their lives, but the angels enjoyed conventions almost as much as Charlie and wanted in. They didn't have to dress up since they were the characters from the book, making it all just ten times more awesome.
"What?!" Dean yelped as soon as they made it past the door. Sams and Deans stood everywhere. There were some other characters, but the majority was mainly the Winchester brothers. Well, then there were a bunch of female Castiel LARPERS, but Dean didn't seem too upset over their short skirts and practically bursting white dress tops complete with tie and trench coat. What startled them the most was the huge sign hanging above them and the table stacked with the new series. The giant poster held the pictures of three baby angels while the rest of Team Free Will stood in the background with weapons drawn. In bold Chiller font the poster read: 'Supernatural- The Wee Angels'. Chuck was so dead. The group continued to look around until finally catching the sight of Becky and Chuck by the autograph table. Dean and Sam didn't waste a millisecond. The two marched over, leaving Charlie alone with the fluffy angels.
"Hi, Guys," Chuck said hesitantly. "Want a copy?" Dean swatted the book Chuck waved at them to the floor and leaned against the table, furry in his eyes.
"What the hell is this?" Dean growled. "We said no more books!" Chuck held up his hands protectively, hiding behind Becky. Becky smiled dreamily up at Sam.
"You said no more to that series. Chuck just decided to publish a new series," Becky stated. She picked up a book and started reading the back. "Sam and Dean have fought monsters, demons, and angels, but now they must battle the greatest challenge of all. Parenthood." Becky clutched the book to her chest and jumped up and down excitedly, creeping the Winchesters out more than any clown or blown up impala. "Oh, it is so cute! The angels all get turned into babies and you two don't know that the witch is-" Chuck covered Becky's mouth with his hand before she could say anything more and smiled at the Winchesters.
"Uh, so…how's saving the w…"
"Dwean, look at all the coats!" Castiel squealed, running over to the hunters and leaping into Dean's arms. Becky pushed Chuck's hands away from her mouth and screamed almost louder than an angel. Cas yelped, hiding himself under Dean's coat, but Becky grabbed at him and ripped him from the hunter.
"Oh my Angel Blades! It's actually baby Castiel!" she screamed with delight, squishing the angel's cheeks and blabbering about the little trench coat. Cas struggled against her hold and Dean pulled the poor angel from her. Cas clutched onto Dean tightly, eyes wide with fear towards the crazy fan girl.
"Hands off, Becky," Dean growled rocking Cas a little in attempt to calm him down. Becky made some weird noise, batting her big eyes at them. Dean ignored her and looked around for an escape route. His eyes instantly found their way to Charlie. She, Balthazar, Gabriel were sampling the lollypops a Gabriel cosplayer was currently handing out. Dean groaned. The last thing he needed was the angels having a sugar buzz. Still, it was better than hanging out with Becky. With a quick evil smirk directed at his brother, Dean retreated from the table with Cas. The little angel in Dean's arms looked over the hunter's shoulder at Becky.
"She scary," the angel muttered, crawling out of Dean's hold and sitting up on the Winchester's shoulders instead. Dean wrapped his fingers around Cas' feet to keep the angel from slipping off his broad shoulders and steered them towards Charlie.
"Don't worry, Buddy. Just throw Sam's shirt at her or something and she'll leave us alone," Dean told the small angel. Cas frowned, clearly not getting what Dean was saying, but that didn't matter since they had finally made it to Charlie and the other angels at last. The fake and much taller Gabriel smiled at them, handing little Castiel a piece of candy before shaking Charlie's hand and walking away. Dean turned to Gabriel, who was currently smirking at the disappearing fake him. "What you do now, Gabe?" Dean questioned, raising a brow at the angel. Gabe smiled up at the older Winchester, reaching into his pocket to reveal an entire handful of candy. The damn angel pickpocketed himself! Dean risked letting one hand leave Cas' foot and swiped the candy out of Gabe's hands, pocketing it himself.
"HEY!" Gabe cried, scowling at the hunter hatefully.
"You have had enough. I don't want to start sending you three to the dentist like normal kids because you practically breathe sugar," Dean stated, grabbing Cas' foot again and directing his gaze to Charlie. She was currently staring at a woman dressed as Dean across the room. Dean shifted on his feet, suddenly feeling slightly uncomfortable.
"Dwean?" Dean kept his mouth shut, humming softly as he ignored the angel on his shoulders. The angel tried again and Dean only hummed louder. An irritated little grunt left Castiel's lips, but Dean knew Cas was trying to hold back a smile. "Dean?" the angel said correctly. Dean looked upwards, meeting Castiel's blue eyes as the angel flopped forward so he was resting his arms on Dean's forehead.
"What's up, Angel?" Dean questioned with a smirk. Cas waved a hand down at the hunter's feet.
"Where's Balthy?" Dean instantly paled, eyes skimming the floor for the grey winged angel. Nothing. All traces of the middle angel were gone. Charlie was about to grab Sam, but Gabriel stopped her, tugging at her pants leg and pointing over by the buffet table. Charlie and Dean glanced at the table, watching as Balthazar slowly climbed/flapped his way to the top of a chair in attempt to get the beers stacked up in the center of the table surrounded by burgers.
"Son of a Bitch," Dean grumbled, marching towards the table. Could Balthazar keep his hands of the liquor for more than two seconds? Balthazar reached for a bottle, eyes glancing upward just at the right moment to spot a very irritated Dean walking towards him. The angel's eyes widened and he grabbed the neck of the beer before jumping from the table and making a run for it. "Damn it, Balthazar!" Dean shouted, braking into a sprint. Castiel yelped, wrapping his arms around Dean's throat and slipping slightly from Dean's shoulders. Dean slowed down slightly, allowing Cas to get a better grip before tearing back after the middle angel about to get a Winchester underage drinking ticket. A few people stopped to watch the chase, some squealing and others whipping out their phones. Sam rose a brow at his brother as he chased Balthazar with Castiel hanging on for dear life around the hunter's neck.
"Wow and I just thought my dreams were over exaggerating," Chuck muttered under his breath as he watched. Becky just flipped through one of the paperbacks of a book labeled as number 45. How many of these were there? Sam glanced at the cover of this book. Balthazar was running towards the front with Dean and Cas right behind him. Hidden in the background was Charlie, Sam, Becky and a too buff looking chuck was. The cover artist probably got paid extra for that one. Sam glanced at the other books littering the table, one in particular catching his eye. A dark figure stood in the shadows of the cover art and Dean was leaning a wall under a single post light with three angels curled in his lap. Rain was pelting down on the four of them and they looked so lost Sam wanted to reach through the art and pull them out of whatever miserable world they were trapped in. Sam picked up the book, not even thinking to look at the page number and opened to the front cover.
"Sorry, Sam," Chuck said, swatting the book from Sam's hands and handing it to Becky. "You can't read ahead." Sam's eyes burned and he leaned across the table into Chuck's personal space.
"What's coming?" the younger Winchester questioned, voice gruff. Chuck stood his ground, staring back into Sam's eyes with equal amount of fierce and seriousness.
"Something big." Becky fainted instantly, the scene getting to be too much for her. Sam and Chuck broke from their staring contest momentarily to stare at her passed out body laying sprawled out along the floor, book thrown onto the floor.
"SAM!" Balthazar screamed as he ran towards the hunter. Dean was ganging on him now and Gabriel had joined in on the Dean Ride. Both he and Cas were helping each other stay latched on to the hunter's back. Balthazar threw himself at Sam and as soon as the young hunter caught the angel Dean tackled his brother, sandwiching Balthazar between them. People clapped and whistle around them and the brothers blearily staggered off each other, sitting on a heap on the floor. Gabe and jumped off with Cas in his arms before the tackled and were currently laughing their hearts out with Charlie. Balthazar on the other hand was staring at the busted bottle shattered across the floor. Dean grabbed the angel, keeping his hold tight to Balthazar couldn't just flap away.
"I think I've had enough of Conventions for one day," Dean murmured. Sam nodded in agreement and the two rose to their feet. Charlie and the angels complained of course, but they eventually made their way to the Impala. Charlie and the angels waved farewell, Dean threatened Chuck's life a few times, and in an instant they were out the door. Charlie sat in the back with the angels, singing Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons along with Dean on the way home. Sam just sat silently in the passenger's seat with a book perched on his lap. Dean stopped singing momentarily, glancing at his brother and the book.
"That one of Chuck's Wee Angel books?" he questioned softly so not to interrupt the angels currently singing. Sam shook his head, flipping another page and frowning.
"No it…it's just a blank book," Sam stated, lifting the open book for Dean to see the bare pages. The older Winchester frowned.
"What's the point of that?" Dean scoffed, turning his eyes back to the road. Sam listened as Dean began to sing again, the music blasting even louder. Sam flipped the book shut and stared at the cover of the book he had stolen from Becky's fainted form. The title of the page was in bold, shadowed letters.
Family Means Blood
Thank you AlexiaBlackbriar for the request! Another little twist to my never ending plot for this. As you all know I don't plan on ending this so I need to keep it interesting. Little twists like this help with that. What do you think the title of the new book means? Give me your theories!
