Bike with Me

Kevin sat in the garage, cleaning out the junk left behind by the previous owners and picking out what to keep. He and the others had been surprised by everything left behind. Sam had called Mrs. Wellington about it, but she just said that whatever was there was now the property of the Winchesters. They had all split up in attempt to clear away the rooms. Charlie and Bobby took care of the stuff in the house while Kevin, Sam, and Dean took care of the garage. That little arrangement ended quickly though when three little angels ran into the garage complaining that there was nothing worth eating in the house. Kevin volunteered to stay back while the Winchesters went shopping. He was also blessed with keeping an eye on the angels while they played outside.

Carefully, Kevin pushed away a stack of boxes, pausing when he saw a dusty bicycle leaned up against another stack of boxes. A grin split the prophet's face in two and he shoved his way to the bike, blowing off the thick dust to reveal red paint. He hummed to himself, checking the air pressure in the tires before swinging a leg over the bike and sitting down in the seat. It was the perfect height. With a quick push Kevin rolled out of the garage, riding around the yard with ease. He jumped over a small hill, just missing three tiny figures as he hit the ground. Sunning themselves in the grass, sat all three angels. They were dressed in shorts and thin T-shirts. Cas was the only one with extra layers, but when did he not wear the trench coat? Kevin gave them a wave as he circled back to them and the angels watched Kevin in awe.

"Want to try?" Kevin asked, skidding to a stop after circling them a few times. The three hesitated slightly, toeing at the ground with their shoes as they eyed the book.

"We never road a bike before," Balthazar hummed, pressing his fingers lightly against the wheels of the bike.

"I can teach you," Kevin reassured. "But first I'll have to adjust the size so you three can reach the peddles." The angels followed Kevin back to the garage, watching as the prophet fished a screwdriver out from a box of tools and started to lower the seat and handles. Kevin wiped the sweat from his forehead once he finished and smiled at the angels by his side. "Who wants to go first?"

"ME!" Gabe and Balthazar shouted at once, glaring at each other through the corners of their eyes. Kevin laughed at the two, eyes glancing towards Cas when he noticed the little angel hadn't joined in too. What he found was Cas staring at the bike like it was a six legged beast with claws and teeth. Sympathetically, Kevin reached over to the little angel, ruffling Castiel's hair. The angel startled a little, looking up at the prophet with big eyes. Kevin only smiled and then turned his attention towards the other two angels.

"Gabe, how about you go first," Kevin decided. Balthazar pouted, glaring at Gabe as the archangel cheered and jumped onto the seat, almost tipping it over. Kevin got up from his knees and grabbed the back of the seat, pushing Gabe outside. "Just try to keep your balance and use the break on the handle bars if you want to stop," Kevin instructed. He started pushing a little fast and Gabe peddled his feet, not noticing at all when Kevin let go. Gabe cheered as he steered his way around the yard. Kevin clapped, smiling widely as Gabe started to head back towards them after going up and down the driveway and the yard. "Alright, try stopping now, Gabe!" Kevin called through cupped hands. Gabe did as Kevin said, but the angel was going too fast and instead braking slowly he clutched the handle as tight as possible, lurching off the bike and smacking right into Kevin's arms. Kevin fell, wrapping his arms around the angel protectively.

"That was awesome!" Gabe shouted, wiggling out of Kevin's hold. Kevin sighed with relief and glanced back towards Cas. The angel looked even more terrified than before. The prophet slowly got up, lifting Cas from the ground and setting the angel on his shoulders.

"You can go after Balthazar's turn, okay?" Kevin offered, deciding Cas needed a little more time to warm up to the idea of trying out the bike. The little angel nodded, clutching at Kevin's hair and he watched Balthazar scamper onto the bike. Balthazar was about the same size as his older brother so he didn't have a problem with the height of the bike. Kevin once again grabbed the back of the bike and started pushing the angel around like he had with Gabe. After Kevin decided that Balthazar could easily keep his balance he let go, watching as Balthazar teetered a little before straightening again. Gabriel followed his brother by air, cheering him on the entire time. Cas climbed down from his spot on Kevin's shoulders, sliding into the prophet's arms with a hesitant smile on his face as he watched Balthazar make wide turns around maple trees planted around the house and the garden. Balthazar rolled past them, squeezing the break a little to slow the bike to a stop.

"Your turn, Cassie!" Balthazar shouted, jumping off the bike and flipping into the air. Cas tightened his grip on Kevin as the prophet pulled out a screwdriver. Kevin smiled down at the angel.

"It'll be fine, Cas, I promise," Kevin whispered, setting Cas down on the ground so he could shorted the seat and handles again. Once the bike was ready Kevin picked Cas back up and set the angel onto the seat. Cas yelped, grabbing at Kevin as the bike threatened to tip over. Kevin wrapped an arm around the angel and used the other to grab the bike, holding it steady for Cas. "I've got you, Cas," Kevin told the angel, pulling his arm away from the angel and forcing Castiel to let go. Cas whimpered, but released the prophet. With a free hand Kevin grabbed the angels' hands and forced them to the handles. Cas gripped them tightly, knuckles turning white as Kevin started pushing the bike. Cas instantly squeezed the brake, forcing the bike to stop. Cas started whimpering again and Kevin brought a hand to his face. This wasn't working at all. For a moment Kevin wished that he was the one food shopping and not Dean and Sam. Those two always knew what to do in these kinds of situations. The light bulb suddenly clicked on in Kevin's head then. Dean and Sam. He just had to think like Dean and Sam. Kevin tapped at his chin as he watched Cas' stiffened body shake on the seat. Cas was afraid to ride the bike, but he wanted ride it…if that makes sense. Kevin thought harder, trying to think of a way the angel would be able to ride a bike without actually being the one that had to operate the bike. The prophet glanced towards the other angels, wondering if he could get any ideas from them, but when he looked they were gone. Panic rose in the prophet as his eyes skimmed the area, but he calmed on seeing the two by the clothes line. They were sitting in the laundry basket, pretending it was a ship or something with their childish imaginations. Gabe flapped out of the basket at some point, grabbing the basket and pushing it a little while his brother cheered and made engine noises. One again the light bulb flickered on in Kevin's clever brain and he rushed into the garage, leaving Cas to sit on the ground by the bicycle confused. When he returned with a wicker basket the angel was even more confused. Kevin laughed as Castiel tilted his head, watching as Kevin started to duct tape the basket to the handles. When finished, Kevin quickly adjusted the seat so he could ride it himself before finally grabbing Cas and dropping the little angel in the basket. Cas stared at Kevin in shock, but Kevin ignored the look of surprise and started pedaling slowly around the yard. At first Cas had clung onto the basket for dear life, screwing his eyes tightly shut as he awaited to fall, but after a minute or two Cas peaked out from where he had buried his face in his hands and surveyed the area as Kevin pedaled. A smile returned to Cas' face and pretty soon Cas gained enough confidence to stand in the basket, letting his wings spread out to allow the wind to whip through them. They rolled past Gabe and Balthazar waving at the two. Gabe and Balthy smiled widely, shooting up into the sky to follow their brother and prophet.

Sam and Dean pulled into the driveway with an Impala filled to the brim with groceries. They were arguing over Dean's choice of music again and were only broken from their shouting match when something flew past the car. They both glanced up in surprise, opening their doors and stepping outside to see Kevin riding around the yard on a red bike. Attached to the bike with duct tape and string was a little basket with three little angels giggling inside. Dean and Sam watched with wide eyes as Kevin drove the angels around the Impala once or twice before clutching the break and coming to a stop in front of the hunters.

"Welcome back, Guys. Like the bike I found?" Kevin asked, waving a hand at the bike he had been riding. Both Sam and Dean nodded, brushing their fingers over the bike as they inspected it.

"Kevin's been teaching us how to ride," Balthazar stated. Sam frowned at the angel.

"Then why are you in a basket?" Sam questioned them. Cas blushed slightly, catching Dean's attention intently and the older Winchester leaned closer to the smaller angel. Cas' blush grew as he met Dean's gaze, embarrassed.

"I…I was too scared to try so Kevin put the basket on so I could ride," Cas whispered. Dean smiled, ruffling Cas' hair.

"Don't worry, Cas. You don't have to ride yet if you don't want to," Dean told the angel. He then looked at Kevin with a wide smile. "Sharp thinking, Kev," Dean complimented. Kevin found his own cheeks blushing at the compliment.

"Um…thanks, Dean. Couldn't let your angel feel left out." Dean nodded, flinching when Sam hollered at him to help with the groceries. A grumble left the older Winchester's lips and Dean's eyes surveying the bike again before draping a leg over it and sitting down on the seat.

"What are you- Hey! Dean!" Kevin cried, but he was already too late. Dean sped off on the bike with the angels tucked safely in their basked.

"Sorry, Kev! You don't mind helping Sam with the groceries do you?" Dean called to the prophet over his shoulders. The bike was way too small for the Winchester, but that didn't stop him from rolling away with the angels as fast as he could. Kevin's face burned bright red with anger and he bolted after the bike.

"Dean Winchester, you lazy ass! Get back here with my bike!"

Thank you crowleyandthegoats for the request! Had to post this one from my hotel in Florida. It's my last day in Orlando and I'll be back on the road soon and that means no internet! So I figured I should post a chapter before I head home. Enjoy! Bornrider2, your request for Luci teaching the angels to fly will be posted whenever I get home.
